I have literally just done a similar conversion who just needs a lick of paint, I went the more flame based route rather than adding skulls and bones. Love the added chains, i hadn't thought of that.
Has anyone ever asked for a Grey knight conversion? The current models are killing me! They should be waaaaayy cooler! If someone can bring them to Primaris scale that should be you Pete! You are our only hope!
The hot backpack vents seem like such a no brainer, can't believe I never thought to paint them like that for normal marines. Really conveys the idea that they are carrying friggin reactors around on their backs.
I use a lot of (semi)abandoned old Marines, a lot of bones from old skeleton kits, Black Templar chained weapons, and a lot of 3rd party skeleton heads from different designers (most of them from Kromlech and PuppetsWar). The rest is cutting, filing, and generally having a lot of fun. Add a lot of extra skulls and bones, and adding some putty, and Bob's your auntie's living lover. Now to add some flames... Might be neat to create a detachment of Guard to go along with the Legion of the Damned. Stick skull/zombie heads on them, to signify flaming undead guardsmen lost to the Warp, unwilling/unable to pass on so long as the Emperor needs them. Anvil Industries make an excellent skeleton Commissar that would be great as an HQ choice.
There is a techmarine. It's an Iron Hands character but I'm sure it can be converted to another chapter. Also Anvil Industries do a mechanical armed backpack which actually fits straight onto primaris marines without any modifications.
GW ditched the Iron Hands upgrades as well. They told me that they have discontinued it and have no plans to bring it back. They're putting all their eggs into the Primaris basket, half of which are cracked in my opinion. I plan on using Intercessors sparingly in my army and maybe a Dreadnaught, everything else looks pretty ugly.

It was also great if you wanted non-Primaris stuff for your chapter, but I guess GW is all aboard the Primaris train.
Great job! The only suggestion I might have made would have been to pin the brazier and put something like a piece of tubing from the inside of a pen around it. I was looking to see if I should/could use them to accent my new Angels Sanguine army - your video's making me lean toward selling this complete, unpainted kit. I figured the bones on the armor would be a nice touch, since I'm using some old Tyranid kits for "Predator style trophies" to hang from my marines. Thoughts?
great conversion, although i wish you could've added some skulls on the pauldrons as well since, to me, that is one of their iconic part of their designs.
