Trust me man I understand your pain all too well. I was in my sophomore year and I could barely afford the 40 bucks for a skitari patrol. I got a job at DoorDash, it pays well and is very convenient and now I can afford models without dipping into my savings. You should check it out.
Your kit bashes and builds are always superb, but something that gets glossed over frequently is how great your paint jobs are! Really digging this Kill Team!
Ironically, I have started building a Kill Team, and this video pops up. Suggestion: Either a Adeptus Mechanicus Kill Team, or Imperial Guard Kill Team
@@michaelpatten5426 Killteam is similar to normal 40k, but instead of larger armies it's more forces of 5-20 (mostly around 10) models. The rulebook's £25 on GW's website, and uses standard 40k models (whilst all KT models can be used in 40k, not all 40k models can be used in KT though). It's focused on individual models instead of units of models, and the low model count means that games are shorter and it's easier to paint models up to the high standard you'd normally save for HQs. This also makes it really good for kitbashing, as you can put a lot of effort into modelling since you aren't working on too many of them.
@@PeteTheWargamer couldn't agree more but I was wondering since good ol melee marines was coming into killteam if you would be interested in having a killteam addition to melee focused missions: a bladeguard a pair of assault marines and an intercessor Sergeant with powerfist or the like. Work to a full campaign roster! I usually stop on a killteam after it hits 12 models. 20 doesn't feel like a cohesive team yknow?
@@wiccanthropy1956 yes next week will begin the space marine meta in Killteam. Only death watch and space marines will be overpowered. Rip all other factions
I love the little addition of the clip falling off the bolt rifle. It just adds such a nice little bit of action to the miniature as though it was a still from an action scene.
some kind of demolition specialist would be cool, like one covered in grenades and explosives. (inspired by that one assault intercessor arm carrying the belt of grenades)
The Land Speeder Storm has some cool extra Scout Knives that are slightly longer than the usual ones Firstborn come with. They are a nice scale with Reivers/Phobos boys. Really like your work. Keep at it.
For someone who has just started painting and modelling minis for games I really, really enjoy your tutorials and videos. Instructive, Pedagogical and easy to follow and see what you are doing. Keep it up Pete!
So awesome that you'd chosen Raptors! :) I've noticed them gradually turning up more and more and more over the last year in Battle Reports, painting tutorials and even a fan-made Warhammer 40k short-film. You've definitely done them proud. Will you be releasing a video about how you'd painted them up?
I live in south america and 40k is an extremely rare sight but after seeing your work through the last year I've decided to start collecting, even if it takes months to get my hands on a set and proper tools, thank you for inspiring me to do so, your videos have given me something to aim for, keep it up!
With Kill Team you'd build up a roster, so you'd have a few options to pick and choose from. So a combat patrol box or start collecting, for example, would give you a great selection of models and parts.
Start Collecting Vanguard has a nice combination of models and even a Commander option. Infiltrators can be kitbashed/proxied as intercessors. Also Suppressors have awesome canons, and we all know that bit**es love canons :D . To that you can buy First Strike to have Rievers and Intercessors. Also after making one kill team, make another and sell it. Ready to play KT are in demand.
It's at this point that third party model services become more appealing. Anvil Industries has a line of Space Marine-alikes, that can be pre-customized when you order. They also sell just the bits, if that's all you want. So you could buy a box of actual Space Marines, then kit them out with whatever bits you get from other companies.
I really enjoy your spacemarine videos. Each and every time feel like you introduce something new and interesting. Keep up the great work! You are a massive inspiration to me!
I'm glad to hear it! With each of my videos I try to introduce a new use for a component or a new technique, just to keep things interesting for people.
I’d love to see you update this list over time. Adding new specialists to the team or even adding trophies/wounds to the models that happen after big in game events.
Amazing. Love the Raptors and the thoughtfulness to each conversion. Only thing I'd change; flip the throwing knifes around so he can reach up to his chest to grab them. Keep up the awesome content.
Your video has gotten me so excited to dare build my own stuff. I am just very new, but it is so addictive to play around and envision all i want. I am doing it with Deathwatch, but I am magnetizing all the arms for flexibility. I do very much love the freedom, but it is scare to make decisions sometimes and overcome all the secondguessing. Especially with so many options in kits from ebay. The good thing is, that if i want another version, i can still build a new one later on. Thank you for that video and how low barrier you made it^^
I did the basic same thing with my Comms specialist! This is crazy hahaha, added the strapped bolt gun to the Ultramarine Auspex arm. Great mine thinks alike! keep up the great work
Fantastic kill team. For another kill team you could Theme it around boarding ships, so terminators, extra breathing aparatus, close quarters, engineer, lots of melta bombs.
Well... now I am annoyed you didn't do this video earlier :D I just finished my "ETB Reivers to Eliminators" conversion and this would be a gold mine of inspiration... Great job and amazing ideas executed! I will definitely reference this video at my next builds :)
First time watching your content. Very impressed, well thought out conversions which came together as a great cohesiveness kill team. Paint job was excellent also. Very nice!
Those models look very good, it's cool to see people do more of a tacticool take on space marines. Love your vids and the creativity in them, keep up the good work! As for a killteam suggestion, I'd like to see either a Imperial Guard or a Inquisition kill team.
Great stuff. The only thing I would point out: Your pouches just stick on the armor. To have pouches there you would need to have straps around the leg or something similar to secure them.
Love it! I've been looking for inspiration on giving my Raven Guard successors a more realistic look, and Handy Storage Bits seems the way to go. This is also giving me more confidence to finally start my Eliminator-based Chapter Master project.
@Darrenmichael Polman new kill team only lets you use certain models. The game has to be balanced, and the teams out now are all pretty balanced for objectives. Seeing as the point of kill team isn’t a body count, but scoring objectives.
Very nice! We need Demolition specialist! Zahariel Castellinus. Maybe very deameged and mechanised space marine, equipped with loads of granades and dynamite. He may be more sentimantal than his teammates, and still wear deamaged armour or some purity seals.
I love how much character this team has, especially Knives McStabby over there xD
He's my personal favourite
Every unit has that “knife guy” in it
It reminds me of when I got a death company intercessors kit, I just wanted to keep adding more
@@captainfry245 he just glues them to himself sticking out and runs at the enemy

And that “knife guy” in every unit is usually cringy as fuck.
I love how you made your Kill Team more fluff oriented than straight up minmaxing
I don't know the rules well enough to min/max anything 😂
Anyone that min-maxes in Kill Team isn't worth playing Kill Team with.
1st, I don’t collect anymore because I can’t afford it being a student and everything but killteam is still awesome and I love you content

Yes, yes they are!
Finally a suitable, no sensible, number of pouches as knives on a miniature keep up the good work
Raptors, in particular, are a very sensible Chapter.

"Yes."
Gorgeous models. Gorgeous paint job. Love to see an idea executed on many different minis.
Yeh it was a nice change to expand out a conversion to a whole squad
That was absolutely fantastic. I really like The Raptors and you did a great job of capturing the essence of that chapter.

You're an ispiration Pete and always follow up your conversions with stunning paint work. I love seeing a heavy tactical theme on astartes!
Thank you very much! I love that more "realistic" styled space marine too, the trinkets and flashy bits are cool but I just like pouches more 😂
