Dolly is a living national treasure, she is a force of nature, she had written over 900 songs. Also check out her Trio albums with Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt, who are a couple other performers you should delve into.
I love Dolly's personality.She's so unsuspiciously clever.I loved her even more after the way she so so cleverly handled that toxic reporter Barbra Walters in that infamous interview in the '70s.Hats off to her.Btw do check out the glorious live performance of JOLENE from Olivia Newton John's 1982 'Physical" tour.Unbelievable!Her high notes caused a musicquake.
There is a late 80s version that is awesome of this song live that was from the - Dolly Show of that era. Dolly all 80s-fyed in that one. This was when Dolly was first on for like 5-yrs the Porter Wagoner show. She then went on her own and wrote the song - I Will Always Love You - as a parting song for Porter who at first was trying to prevent her leaving. Dolly had a #1 Country hit with it in the 70s and allowed Whitney Houston to sing it and it was a Worldwide #1 hit. Dolly still wrote the song holding on to all rights and made a mint off of its residuals.

Your friend who cant stop laughing is just rude..period! TO say Dolly is a living legend is an understatement. She wrote I will Always Love You which Whitney Houston turned into the top selling single of all time. She was born into pure poverty in the mountains of East Tennessee and The Smokey Mountains and she still does alot to this day to help and give back to her community. There were terrible fires back in 2016 and hundreds of people lost everything they had, she gave 11,000 out of her own pocket to each family to help them get re established, did a show in Gatlinburg Tennessee and raised Millions to for the families and to help the city re build. She DOES give away books, Her Imagination Library gives books to children who sign up for the program..BRAND NEW BOOKS, beautiful, age appropriate to help foster a love for reading. Has given over a billion books so far. My son use to get them every month when he was younger for a few years. DOLLY has a theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tn that is rated higher than Disney. ALSO several hotels, water park, shows, she is an enterprise all by herself. SHOW SOME RESPECT!! SHE HAS EARNED IT!!!
