I just landed my first ollie the day before this video and I wanted to learn these tricks but no vids helped. So thx for the video and it's perfect timing. Any tips for a beginner skateboarder drop them down below pls ty.
I'm glad you mentioned the seesaw method. I didn't know what to call it but when I learned that little trick my ollies got higher! Another little trick that helped me was making sure that my back foot is just as high as my front flip when I jump. This help the board get even higher when you level out and prevents you from stunting the height of your ollie. I have my shove it and ollies down next step is the kickflip. Thank you for this vid!
Wow I’ve been struggling to get my back wheels off the ground in ollies and the seesaw method really made sense in my head!! I will definitely try it out
Full disclosure I can’t Ollie yet without holding on to support but what clicked for me was understanding the pop. I’m old and returning to skating and I remember using finger boards (back when they were sold as key chains and you took the ring off). I could Ollie those by pulling back slightly as I popped with my fingers rather than just lifting up or pushing my hand forward in the direction of travel. So I started visualizing pushing down and popping with a motion that pushed the board backwards. That, in combination with practicing the front foot slide to raise, level, and guide the deck, seemed to unlock it for me. I can now pop a nice looking Ollie...on the carpet in my basement holding on to the side of the couch lol. But I’m gonna call that progress for 40 years old.

Landed my first shove it 1 hour after watching this. The one tip where I look at the spot where I want my board to go was very helpful and it helped me to commit to the landing. Thank you George!
I don't know why people dislike. Because he is just helping every one. And if you dislike this video. You think learning this is bad. By the way love your channel super good advice.
i’ve been working on my ollies recently, and i have been skating now for 5 years now. it got to a point where i just stopped doing them, now occasionally i fuck up on a flat ground ollie or almost land primo. it’s not like i’m a beginner or anything but it just shows how important the ollie is

man i wish i heard this shuv tip before, i alwyas jumped in front of me anticipating the board was going to be there but always landed on the nose. just yesterday i found out you have to jump a lil to the side by myself and now it’s so much easier
Not while still, but while rolling you want to jump forward, it’ll help get your back wheels a lot higher. I would recommend learning ollies while rolling
Yo that kickflip tip is unreal. You actually got me to land my first kickflip. I now use that tip to land much harder tricks too. Everytime i cant commit to a trick i just imagine it landing upside down, but do the same thing. Thats how i learned heelflips, kickflips, varial flips, and even fakie 3 shuvs though the board doesnt flip. Thanks bro
I think it helps me when I look at a certain spot on my board for tricks. So if I keep missing with both feet then I'll look the opposite direction of where I miss and it helps my brain tell my body to jump the right direction instead.
When I try to kickflip I can do it with putting one foot at the ground but when I try to land of with two feet I can't rotate the board properly, why is this?
Fuckkkk same fucking same except the last part I can rotate 100% it’s the landing on both feet, but it’s cuz I’m not committing and scared since I sprained my back foot twice doing a kickflip......
Dude thaaaaanks. Honestly you are the best for figuering these out and presenting them. This is exactly what i needed. I can ollie kinda well right now but I actually ended up learning how to ollie exactly the way you told it and it helped me alot. Im forsure sending this to a couple of friends that need these tips!!!
Great video George!!! Just wanna add for me, personally I've been skating for about a year now and what helped me with getting that 'click' with the ollie was my posture on the board. Ive always thought I had the pop down and the whole dragging your front foot but could never actually get the board leveled. Once I started adjusting my posture to be directly over the board (possibly even leaning slightly over) it instantly clicked and the rhythm has stuck ever since :D. Just thought I'd leave this here for anyone struggling as well!
The seasaw analogy clicked in my brain and was the last step i needed thanks man. I spent literally all day learning to ollie and watched probably 20 videos but it was something about that seasaw lol.
no way! ive watched since 3k and then my old channel got deleted and i lost all my subscriptions. i saw your tiktok on my for you page and checked out your channel. crazy to see you’re 1/5 of the way to a million
I Broke my foot over 6 months and even had two surgeries and i used the shuvit trick again to land it for the first time! Its a bit hard to get me back on track but youre videos motivate me to skate again (B George you are a god lmao
What also helps for me is trying these tricks on a trampoline because you're not afraid to fall and you commit completely Anyway that's how I learned how to commit and land kickflip.
Hey George I' m 32 and have been skateboarding on and off for many many years. I don't even remember my first kickflip cuz it's been almost 20 years ago but I never landed a switch one and I just became a father so I decided I'm gonna land one asap. I've been training my switch kickflip for a while now and can land with 1 foot only. I'm gonna give your tip a go and hopefully I will get the sw flip after many years of skateboarding! Cheers
that kickflip tip is useful. i’m 24 and just starting to get sort of consistent at them. my tip would be to jump straight up, and “break your front ankle”. as in really focus on using your shin to drag your limp foot across the board. for me, if i try to flick using every part of my foot, my board goes way out in front of me or gets pulled up too high.
i did the see saw method when I learned my ollies a while ago. i think naturally it just makes sense. When trying to learn my kickflips I also tried holding on to a trashcan and a table so that I could commit easier. It sorta worked.
you helped me land my ollie with that seesaw method and I came up with my own method for landing a shove-it and it was thinking of it as a pop-shove it since I didn't gave myself enough time to land and it felt so good landing it man. My problem with the shove-it wasn't that it kept going backwards it was just not getting my front foot on the board my back foot would always be on it but my front foot never. But thanks for all these tips man I'll most definitly come back to this video to learn a kickflip.

I can ollie kinda well right now but I actually ended up learning how to ollie exactly the way you told it and it helped me alot. Im forsure sending this to a couple of friends that need these tips!!!
I don't know why I'm watching this I've had these tricks on lock for 8 years.
How do u land ur kickflips better?
It's maybe an ollie or a kickflip but thank you so much george i landed my heelflip with the kickflip hack
Hey George, can u please make a vid on how to flip your board better on the kickflip pls? I love ur vids.
What also helps for me is trying these tricks on a trampoline because you're not afraid to fall and you commit completely
Anyway that's how I learned how to commit and land kickflip.
his point about shoving the back wheels to your front foot for pop shuvits is 100% the #1 advice for them imo, same applies for fs shuvs
Cheers
Thanks so much bro I just landed my first kick flip ever after struggling for month and it was one of my happiest moments ever
that kickflip tip is useful. i’m 24 and just starting to get sort of consistent at them. my tip would be to jump straight up, and “break your front ankle”. as in really focus on using your shin to drag your limp foot across the board. for me, if i try to flick using every part of my foot, my board goes way out in front of me or gets pulled up too high.
Your tip for landing kickflips seriously helped me finally get them down, thank you!
i did the see saw method when I learned my ollies a while ago. i think naturally it just makes sense.
I started skating about a month ago, and i just landed my first ollie on CONCRETE like 4 days ago! they’re getting more consistent now too :D
You're a goat I love videos where they teach you practice methods not just the steps to do a trick
Omg thank u so much for the "seesaw method" it was so simple and clear but I was finally able to land my ollie's
I finally landed my first kick flip thanks to this video. Ty George keep the content flowing homie!
I feel a lot more confident now and I can’t wait to apply these tips
