5 EASY Ledge Tricks to Learn TODAY!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 сер 2024
- The 5 easiest ledge tricks in skateboarding that you can learn today on a ledge or box! The tricks include backside boardslide, backside noseslide (or slappy noseslide), frontside 50-50, frontside 50-50 frontside 180 out, and frontside 5-0 grind (plus backside 50-50 as an honorable mention). There are easier tricks you can do such as ride off, jump on grind, etc., but these are the first 5 "real" ledge tricks that I learned and are fundamental tricks that open a lot of doors. In this video I share tips and wisdom on how to land each trick to help you wrap your mind around them and gain the confidence to get out and learn them in one day. Filmed at Ponderosa Skatepark in Bend, Oregon. Keep me posted on your progression in the comments!
// update: no, I'm not back in Bend! I got the flu so I couldn't film a normal friday skate vlog this week 😖🤒 this was going to be december's bonus video, but i was super burnt out on editing for vlogmas plus wasn't too hyped on this video for whatever reason so I just let it go. since i was sick in bed this week with nothing to do, I decided I might as well finish this one up and not let it go to waste! hope you learn something and get inspired to skate by this video 💟

Nice gunna try and do that today
That "where to look" part was brilliant.
Worth noting that if you're having troubles getting your back truck to lock in on 50 50's to fix your gaze further down the ledge.
I struggled with this for a while until someone suggested I look ahead instead of focusing on the centre of my board/ledge.
Eye on the ball
I literally just Ollie when I think I’m the right distance 😂😂 this tip is gonna help me a ton

Excellent video, George. Keep it up.

Ok
Surprisingly the front 5-0 was crazy easy for me. I landed it on my first try. I think it’s the only trick I’ve ever landed first the first time on the first try. I think back crooks should also be on the list. They feel really natural for me
thank you! stay awesome man
man good tutorial/description on the 50 and what you are eyeing and how it shifts from in front of you to fown at ur board.....i jus learned this yesterday and i jus started skating again after 17 years(im 34)...relearning stuff i haf and also new stuff...nvr had 50s before but what you described is what i literally just figd out...alotta ppls tutorial miss out on where your actual vision/focus is anf if or when it shifts during a specific trick...you nailed it bro....kudos and t.y.
I always wait till your video gets on UA-cam I love your Channel

tip for the front 5-0 helped so much dude u have no idea. Thanks GP!
You are great :)! helpt my skating alot!
Thanks you for your video i can train every day with your instruction
As you’re getting these make sure you’re working on half cabs so that you can learn half cab nose slide - it became my favorite ledge trick for years and seem to lock and slide easier than standard nose slide
Good job bb thats why I love fridays
Great video bro! Much appreciated :)
Thx waited on this Video long🔥🔥🔥
Thank u this is gonna be soooo helpful
Thanks for the content george
Fakie noseslide is my go to on a ledge the first time I skate it because it’s just a fun feeling trick and requires very little energy
Love that you’re wearing a helmet 🙏🏽 great video!
how i missed these videos! 🤩
The nose slide info helped thanks a lot
Cool vid. Very helpful. 🤘🤘
Yay just landed the board slide today. Thanks for the tutorial
Just finished surgery on my ankle earlier today from a break. Definitely trying these when I get cleared to skate!!
How's that ankle? Hopes its good man and your out shredding!
Cool af homie G to the P, teaching us all to S.K.A.T.E.
great explanation some of these tricks I could do but have trouble doing consistently, after you explaining what "locks in" certain tricks I bet I can get them more consistent.
Hey!!love your vids!!
Went to the park and finally learned all backside versions of the ledge tricks I know backside for me is a lot harder👍 (I can boardslide,50-50,5-0,nose and tail slide)
Super video !
My skate sesh yesterday was my best so far. First Ollie and Slappy 50-50 on a Manny pad. Haven't quite managed to land out of the 50-50 yet, but I think I got it next sesh.
dropping gems in this
only watched 51 seconds of this video. Haven't even gotten to the skateboarding yet and this mans has already gained another like and sub.
I wanted to get better at ledges so thanks a lot for this video !!
Thanks George this was helpful
I landed my first backside crook on a rail today!
Clayton Kavaloski congrats
great!
You should post more, everyday I check your account to see if there’s a new video. I just got a helmet gang hoodie and can’t wait to skate in it!
This was good👍😁
Hey George, your tips are mad helpful. I love that you identify things I never even paid attention to. Like, our eyes/view suggestion, and how going fast when you're learning something else will mess up your timing. This compliment comes from an older skateboarder who had all these tricks for years but with the sloppiest form that made me more likely to injure myself on some dumb sh**.
VIDEO REQUESTS
- Whether to pinch heelside vs. toeside for different grinds and slides.
- Some more regarding eye movement, like you did with this video. (you seem to have that covered, homie, but I'm thinking how useful it will be for every trick)!
- How to adjust pop for speed
- detailed tutorials on body posture (aside from foot placement). I'd love an analysis of ideal ways to use your arms and shoulders. What common body posture mistakes ppl make & what happens when they make those mistakes, Etc. Could you help identify & clean up issues with our tricks? 100%.
- when to shift your center of gravity, where to put your weight on for the roll-up, etc. I'm experimenting with these details for the first time and having mixed results since before I mindlessly went for it. Paying attention actually messes me up, but it will make me a more consistent skater in the long run.
- POV shots of you doing the tricks would be helpful. Maybe could even develop a VR app. I think visualizing is a form of practice in itself. It gets our body and mind ready to do it. I feel like if you're wearing a helmet, you're 90% ready to have a POV GoPro angle.
I bet you can grow your audience by offering "intermediate tips" for skaters who can do the tricks already but wanna see it broken down so we can identify strengths/weaknesses. These little tips, like where to look, etc., can help intermediate, non-tutorial guys nail their tricks with more control, confidence, and consistency.
Your tutorials are already mad helpful thank you. I'm just suggesting these ideas bc I think they'd make a world of difference to skaters who are watching even though they can do the tricks. And it's something nobody else is doing that I'm aware of. Breaking bad habits to create good ones is essential, so I think it's worth experimenting with at some point.
Peace homie
great video!
Great video. Just got my ollies down. Gonna hit some ledges today!
This is just what I needed because I just built a ledge!
I never knew what to do on a ledge, thank you for making this video
Thank you , capt
Sick vid. You should keep going on this ledge series, get nose grinds, back 5050s etc. would be tight.
Noselide advice. Received. 🤝
Today I've joined to the helmet gang!!!

I remember seeing you at Tribeca skating one day, on my trip to New York, not knowing who you were, I stumbled upon your channel a week later when I had to go back home to Florida, only to be like..."Wait a minute...I have seen this guy before" lol small world.
i just landed both a nose slide and board slide today and im so exited
Dope vid dude.. Go hard
Yepe
Going for the nose slide at a straight angle at first is exactly how I’d do it👌
Such a good video just got new ace trucks today and there so good size 44 for that 8.25 fortune deck
The turtle on the tech deck 🤣🤣
I love these videos please make some more, maybe how to Learn the Ollie fast or something like that . I would really appreciate it 🤷🤙😂👋
Learning to pop out was pretty quick for me back in the day i found a ledge I could ride onto so I didnt have to worry about getting into it first.
