  • Wondering what skateboarding tricks to learn after the ollie? This video provides a list and tips of 5 skateboarding tricks that I believe you are ready to learn after the ollie since they build off of the skills of the ollie and require no other tricks. Several of these can easily be learned in one day! This video will help beginner skateboarders learn easy tricks and help define an order of tricks to learn (although there is no truly correct order!). Filmed as a part of my senior year series (currently winter break) at the Ponderosa Skatepark in Bend, OR. Thanks for watching!

pop harder and/or move your front foot a bit further back to get more room to slide. my last tip would be to really tuck your knees when you pop for that extra height. or actually you might need to go a bit faster to clear the grass depending on how wide the gap between the road and sidewalk is.

Hi, last week I hit the back of my head when I got speed wobbles while bombing a hill. I didn’t have a helmet on and got knocked out for over a minute. If i fell a foot to the right, my head would have hit the curb and I would have likely died or suffered severe brain bleeding and brain damage. I left hospital that day with a severe concussion and a skull fracture. After seeing your videos I feel like I have more confidence to wear a helmet at skateparks. I’ve always been extremely self conscious about what others think so I’ve never been able to. Now I’ve ordered a helmet online and will be skating proudly with a helmet soon!! Thank you so much. Your life is more important than what you wear on your head!

I practiced my ollie for 3 days and I landed 20 or 30 so without many fails today! After doing something once and falling it doesn't seem scary the next time. If you commit to not falling your going to stay scared and it's not going to help you gain confidence at all. Try falling a couple times while rolling slowly it truly helps

🤯 George you literally just made me rethink how to skate off stuff when you brought up Newton’s law/ stationery, rolling seriously that put it in a different perspective 🙌🏻

@@georgepoulos it's just, that it is simplified to the max and therefore more wrong than right. While the skateboarder and the board might be an inertial frame, the skateboard to the ground is not. And you as a moving skateboarder hitting the stationary ground neither. But shove-its might be easier moving, probably because you have the help of momentum.

complete opposite for me, kickflips are so weird for me it feels awkward, it feels like i literally kickmy board down to the ground while my flips feel really clean and my foot just drags up and off the board

I learned heelflips a and hospitalflips before I could kickflip and I think you should learn switch ollies after you learn to ollie so that way you practice both stances and you’ll be extra cool cuz you’ll be able to skate switch! Learn it if u want tho it don’t matter

I have been skateboarding for about a month and can ollie, ollie over a line and small objects(baseball bat, broom, even a penny board) I also am working on consistently getting the frontside 180 and shove it(no pop yet) but want to learn all these tricks within 3 months is my goal. UA-cam videos like these and especially progression videos are super inspirational. I find myself working on a trick for 15 to 20 mins getting frustrated then watching a couple videos gets me to go back and try again. A tip I've found is film yourself then slowly look a the video to see what you are doing and how to improve. Plus after 6 months to a year you can put all the videos together and watch and share your progression as I plan to do.

Thanks so much! I've known how to Ollie for months now but I've focused on getting it higher (I can now ollie onto a 9in manny pad and I'm working on getting higher) and this is sorta the natural progression I've been doing. I'm working on shuv-its and I've been thinking about trying fakie Ollie's and heelflips.
