5 Tricks to Learn AFTER the Ollie!

- Опубліковано 28 гру 2018
- Wondering what skateboarding tricks to learn after the ollie? This video provides a list and tips of 5 skateboarding tricks that I believe you are ready to learn after the ollie since they build off of the skills of the ollie and require no other tricks. Several of these can easily be learned in one day! This video will help beginner skateboarders learn easy tricks and help define an order of tricks to learn (although there is no truly correct order!). Filmed as a part of my senior year series (currently winter break) at the Ponderosa Skatepark in Bend, OR. Thanks for watching!

PART 2?!?!?!?
Thank you so much for this video. After learning Ollies I ollied over a broomstick and a deck and that gave me confidence to Ollie onto a curb! Really helpful video.
Update: ollied down a 3 stair today for the first time :)
Tommy Golbranson hell yeah bro
Keep going man
Dawson Likes To Skate I ollied up a 3 stair like 2 months ago, but I’ve been focusing on flip tricks
do you have any tips? i can do an ollie but im kinda scared to go over things
Not only does he skate he also knows physics
Obviously you don't know physics or you'd realize how incorrect you are.
Mark Andrew Skates u right
Ossiera 25 too bad you didn’t say, “oh shit u right” but u right.
Not hating
Mark Andrew Skates it is physics the fuck 😂
600th like
-me 2019
That physics wisdom literally gave me so much confidence when doing tricks moving holy shit
How are you progressing?
@@sergalcube1003 he can do switch laser flips now first try
Thank you so much for including my kickflip in this vid!!!!!💚🛹
Great meeting you 🙏🏼
Dude that’s so cool George followed u on ig
😄😄😄
ASHER
Nice kick flip bro!
I suggest you learn how to switch laser flip after Ollie there kinda similar
Josh Chou wtf
they're*
i actually learned it before the ollie
Josh Chou I learned that before I even got a skateboard
I swear bro, I learnt that in a baby bouncer with a hairy mclairy book under my feet at the age of 2 👁️👄👁️
Fakie bigspins are actually really easy would recommend for a beginner like myself . think of it as a fake shuv then catching it on the tail and pivoting with it
This one is a great idea!
I WAS JUST THINKING THAT! WOAHH!
Mike Suarez u can do it like dat?!
would that work with regular bigspins as well but catching it on the nose?
Braille be like: just pop and bam treflip it’s THAT easy guys
But but But 😂😂😂
iM a sPonsOReD SkaTeBoArdEr ..

Jokes 💀
Exactly, I just want a channel like vl skate that literally break down every component of the trick, not just "pOp AnD lAnD tHe 360 InWaRd HeElFlIp" like bruh...
I ollied down a 4 stair but I can't ollie up curbs.
Lol
Reverse with me
Ah finally someone with the same problem as me, I can't Ollie on something even when it's just 15 cm
pop harder and/or move your front foot a bit further back to get more room to slide. my last tip would be to really tuck your knees when you pop for that extra height. or actually you might need to go a bit faster to clear the grass depending on how wide the gap between the road and sidewalk is.
Lol same
This is so much better than braille skateboarding. If only you had as much attention as them because you really deserve it.
Thank you!
Braille skateboarding is good in its own way, less focused on skateboarding and more focused on entertainment.
George just gives me the best vibe and I love his videos. He’s by far my fav yter
@@Jonathan-ih9sm Yeah but in my opinion George is more entertaining and gives good vibes, overall he's a better youtuber
And he's way better than Aaron Kyro lol
Use me as a natural heelflip button

George what’s your tips for committing on tricks after an injury?
i almost landed a heel flip todsy on accident
finessekideman try it fakie it feels better for me.
Cody Floyd I was the 500th like
I thought was the only one
KrazykushT49 yoo fr my fakie heel is way more consistent than my normal heel
Hi, last week I hit the back of my head when I got speed wobbles while bombing a hill. I didn’t have a helmet on and got knocked out for over a minute. If i fell a foot to the right, my head would have hit the curb and I would have likely died or suffered severe brain bleeding and brain damage. I left hospital that day with a severe concussion and a skull fracture. After seeing your videos I feel like I have more confidence to wear a helmet at skateparks. I’ve always been extremely self conscious about what others think so I’ve never been able to. Now I’ve ordered a helmet online and will be skating proudly with a helmet soon!! Thank you so much. Your life is more important than what you wear on your head!
I practiced my Ollie for a year now I broke my wrist trying but now I’m back in the game and I landed my first Ollie after my injury. Love the vid
BenB Vlogs you broke your wrist learning a ollie?
I broke my wrist learning the kick flip lol
Aye here’s a tip for a better Ollie that helped me a LOT: first pop, then slide, jump last. It’s all about timing
@@lukemitcham9253 it don’t take much to slip on a skateboard, yes an Ollie will cause some people to lose balance and fall, then they,ll try to catch themselves and end up breaking a wrist
I practiced my ollie for 3 days and I landed 20 or 30 so without many fails today! After doing something once and falling it doesn't seem scary the next time. If you commit to not falling your going to stay scared and it's not going to help you gain confidence at all. Try falling a couple times while rolling slowly it truly helps
🤯 George you literally just made me rethink how to skate off stuff when you brought up Newton’s law/ stationery, rolling seriously that put it in a different perspective 🙌🏻
14 years skateboarding and you just helped me understand skateboarding 🛹 a bit more 🙏🏻
Glad that helps! Seriously works for me to think about too, especially down gaps because I had a huge slip-out problem back in the day. Just gotta stay centered!
@@georgepoulos it's just, that it is simplified to the max and therefore more wrong than right. While the skateboarder and the board might be an inertial frame, the skateboard to the ground is not. And you as a moving skateboarder hitting the stationary ground neither. But shove-its might be easier moving, probably because you have the help of momentum.
@@badsn thank you. the newton take is so bad i’m glad it wasn’t just me lol
Good timing 😂. I got my moving Ollie’s fully down yesterday. #HelmetGang

how long it took you?
@@swerks197 it depends on how much you skate
SHOVE ITS ARE SO HARD FOR ME i dont know how to get my front foot up first to use my back foot to rotate it
@@buhnessaperiodt3628 bruh I can literally Tre flip but not pop shuv it istg
@@swerks197 I'm skating for about 10 days now and I have learnt pop shuvit and ollie.
Thanks for this video, George!!!I'm a slow learner! I have the ollie and shove it down, just working on precision!! Need to clean them up before recording!! Happy that you made this video because I like how you combined these tricks into one video!! I am also watching a lot of Skateboarding Made Simple ALSO, over and over again for the details!! Everything makes sense in my head, just applying it physically is challenging, but I am definitely getting there!! Thanks for the positives, always!!
So I have just recently learn to ollie but just like 15 cm high and I tried to Shove-It and today for a couple times, after a week I did it!
So Shove-It is the trick I learned after an Ollie..
I landed my first ollie today and im already watching this.
YESSS I’ve been waiting for this video mannnn😍🛹🤙🏼
I actually love the way george says actually. He should actually say actually more often.
Actually,
You've really motivated me, learning the Ollie at the moment ❤️kinda got it down!!!
George, thanks! I will be trying these tomorrow.. Learning skateboarding @ age 41, your channel has been a big part. I could "sorta" almost Ollie when I was 11-12, now I can.. Some life stuff happened, now I skate again 30 years later it is my life now
Of all the channels and videos on youtube ive watched, youre the most comprehensive one! The way you explain each trick and how to do it is phenomenal! Youve 100% earned my sub! Thank you for all your help
I’m glad it’s the weekend and I didn’t watch this at night because I want to try those tricks right now... after I figure out how to get out of bed.
Thank you so much this is what I have been looking for after I learned how to Ollie I have been trying to find new tricks. Thanks!
Gotchu 🙏🏼
these videos are always getting me so hyped to go out and skate! pleease never stop putting together these lists for beginner tricks
This content really got me stoked to go skating again. Spent 10 years off the board and my now wise (i hope) 25 yo head has the patients to actually get some solid board control ready for the rainy UK summer. Keep it coming dude.
Yo George I NEEDED this video!!! I recently learned how to Ollie and then shove it and I’ve been looking for some new tricks to pick up. You are such a legend my dude!! Thanks so much
i recomend u learn nollie shove n nollie front shove that two without pop is so easy
For some reason you remind me of Ross from friends lmao
[ブー] lowkey same
not bad my friend
pivot
love the videos man, just got back into skateboarding after about 15 years and its been a challenge getting back at it lol but also a blast, keep it coming man
Hey I just bought my first board last month and landed my first good ollie and it's all thanks to you, the braille guys, and john hill. You guys have been a great inspiration for me. So keep on doing what you're doing because it really helps out beginners like me
I’ve been looking forward to this today haha
getting decently close to kick flips and i’m hyped :))
Morphosis180 can u land it ?
@BlackXblizzard oh god i forget about this, i can’t kick flip but i’m much closer to heel flips lmao thank you for the check up guys
@@samuelorigenes1185 now???
@@dwaynelafontant9550 my flicking ankle has been rolled so many times, it hurts to ollie so kick flips have been out of the question as of lately lmao
Thanks for the great videos!
Love your tutorials dude! U a real one!
Do 5 curb grind tricks! Excellent vid!
I freakin love george
Awesome video man! Thank you so much
Thank you so much for making this video. I’ve been stuck on the Ollie for months not knowing what to progress to. Love the vid👍🏼
SUBSCRIBED!! You’re cool, dude!!
Men do 5 tricks after kickflip😓🙏🙏
Tre flip - laser flip gl on that
Varial kickflip before the tre
Just go for tre flip
Varial flips are pretty useless after u learnes tre flips
So just go for broke and try tre flip.
Tre flip, hardflip, frontside flip, Back side flip, and bigspin. Im always happy to help ✌😎✌
what about women
Just wanna say I just found you on UA-cam and I love your videos. They are so wholesome and funny. This video helped me so much after learning the Ollie this past week
Thanks George I’m hyped to try these tricks
Idk if it’s just me but I always shout “YOOO” when the intro to George’s videos comes on
my boy is dispensing that PHYSICS knowledge. inertial REFERENCE FRAMES n all that. bert 'stein has NOTHIN on george poulos
Love your videos man ❤️💕
Your my favorite you tuber and you have taught me sooo many tricks and have made me progress in skating.
Got bored in my room and accidentally ended up landing my first ever heelflip while watching this
Damn I was not expecting that much science 😂
Im so excited watching this, I am on day two of skateboarding, and landed a ollie (1 inch high but still!) while moving today, im so proud 😆
Thanks for the video, gives a lot of motivation
I really like the way u teach tricks its so simple and easy to understand and its so chill. I really love ur channel, I'm a fan!!!
Kickflip or heelflip??
Edit: i personally prefer heelflip
I’m trying to learn how to do it but I just can’t commit and when I try i think I over think it I’m so frustrated
Kickflip
Heelflips are so weird to me
Luke McCann I just kept trying them and one day something clicked and now I can do them (they look really sketchy tho)
complete opposite for me, kickflips are so weird for me it feels awkward, it feels like i literally kickmy board down to the ground while my flips feel really clean and my foot just drags up and off the board
Same i feel like when i try to heelflip that the board gonna smash my balls
kymmenen yli yksii one year later and i can do them now buy they’re sooooo bad. and i literally smashed my balls like a week ago doing one. still hate them
@@lukemccann6258 i can feel you😂😂
Love the video thanks
Thank you so much, I was planning on starting to skate vert, but this helps
Legit got my Ollie down now this on my recommended lol
Hey George, are those shoes adidas campus (non skateboarding version) ??
Great Video which gave me some really good ideas.
Thanks for the inspiration
I've been heelflipping for years still cant kick flip
Video idea: tricks to learn after kickflips
Love your videos 😍❣️
Totally RAD George teaching to do tricks is AWESOME I'm pumped up thanks George🤙👌👍👍
Me watching this video and imagining I'm doing those tricks while i didn't even know how to properly ollie yet
How r they coming along now?
@@gabriellameattray9778 I've improved my ollie much better. Now im trying to ollie over obstacles.
Edit: i skate once a week
@@hafiz4695 what now?
I learned heelflips a and hospitalflips before I could kickflip and I think you should learn switch ollies after you learn to ollie so that way you practice both stances and you’ll be extra cool cuz you’ll be able to skate switch! Learn it if u want tho it don’t matter
Amazing vid helped me so much keep it up :)
Thanks for this 🙏🏼
Instructions unclear I did a dragon flip instead
The video starts a 0:55
You’re an amazing teacher ! Thanks
you make everything look so easy !
2:48 ah yes. we love a kid that mall grabs :')
Does it matter if he mall grabs or not
No Name no
Thank you for making this video, i was so indecisive after my ollie
This really helped me thanks man
i love your energy & emotion thank you so much❤️
6&7: Drop-In and Rock to Fakie. Essential for parks! Thx George for your awesome channel :)
George, you are awesome!👍🏼
I completely lost my kick flip since I landed it in my 19 year old. But I am close to land heel flip. Thank you for your instruction!
thank you sooooo much that helped me learn every trick i know
yo broh love your video's dude keep it up hope you grow big
hi i loved this video keep it up!
Love your videos
This was so perfectly explained
Loved the vid
His energy is so positive for learning I’m a fan
thanks bro this really helped
I have been skateboarding for about a month and can ollie, ollie over a line and small objects(baseball bat, broom, even a penny board) I also am working on consistently getting the frontside 180 and shove it(no pop yet) but want to learn all these tricks within 3 months is my goal. UA-cam videos like these and especially progression videos are super inspirational. I find myself working on a trick for 15 to 20 mins getting frustrated then watching a couple videos gets me to go back and try again. A tip I've found is film yourself then slowly look a the video to see what you are doing and how to improve. Plus after 6 months to a year you can put all the videos together and watch and share your progression as I plan to do.
I landed my first ollie yesterday.I am a huge fan keep up the good work
another awesome video, keep it up brooo
Thank you recomendations very cool :D
thank you george
Great vid 🤘🤘🤘
Good! Please go on with this kind of videos!
Thanks so much! I've known how to Ollie for months now but I've focused on getting it higher (I can now ollie onto a 9in manny pad and I'm working on getting higher) and this is sorta the natural progression I've been doing. I'm working on shuv-its and I've been thinking about trying fakie Ollie's and heelflips.
26 haven't skated since I was 17 buying my first board in 10 years your video gives me confidence to commit thank you brother! Cant wait to fail fall get up and succeed.
Awesome video, I just got back into skating after a long hiatus and started landing pop shove its after my ollies baby
love this guy
Nice video 👍, been skating for a couple years now didn't really care to much about the melon till resantley so I started wearing a helmet made a big difference in my skating gave me a boost of confidence love your videos keep pushing ✌️✌️.
Your my favorite you tuber your super encouraging and inspirational
