Redesigning Suzuka's 130R for more overtakes

- One of the things that make Formula 1 so special are the circuits. In this video, I put on the drawing board a new design of the famous 130R turn, on the Suzuka Circuit, to improve overtaking. Very nice job. The current 130R does not provide the same driving challenge as the original corner, but also doesn’t promote racing very well. Your design improves the racing part quite well.
What you perhaps didn’t consider that much is safety. I don’t believe the current 130R has adequate runoff, as shown in Super GT and Super Formula, where some massive crashes happened last year, and your redesign only makes the corner even faster.
Put to your credit, I don’t think it’s possible to redesign 130R without compromising driving fun, racing, or safety.
That's an easy solution, no runoff, you put the Safer barrier (used by Nascar and indycar ovals which will suit this corner very well) at the track limit, if a driver where to lose grip and crash, he/she will have longer distance to grind to a stop because of the fact that the barrier are so close. and the corner is wide enough that wall riding will Not be a gain here like with Ross Chastain.
Pretty much every category of racing is close to flat out through 130R. Increasing the radius will only marginally increase vehicle speeds. It would be more dangerous for hyper cars on track days.
Adding a close wall like the other reply suggested would also work like Zandvoort final turn.
Not every car can take current 130R flat-out, but I definitely like the idea of widening the approach to the Casio Triangle.

Interesting change. I also think either pushing back the final chicane or even making a tight right 90 degrees as the final corner will help so it is a longer run from 130r

I only recently found this channel (within the last few days) and was kinda bummed when I noticed the lack of new uploads. What a great and happy surprise this video is lol!
The King has returned once again with another banger of a video. Great work mate keep it up. One addition you could add is using the old Casio Chicane (1991-2002) / the motorcycle Chicane as it would be a harder braking zone as the straight would be longer before the corner and also it is a tighter corner. you could improve it more by making the track wider with the old chicane do make overtaking easier.

Hmmm...
I'd keep your idea, but I cut the chicane with a banked and wide full-speed corner, maybe change the first corner a bit, but that might not necessery. I'm sure it would be amazing and historic too. If I know correctly the first version of the track not had the chicane.

honestly I would change 130R to a Chicane and then make the run to the line flat out, so replace 130R with chicane and turn Casino chicane into a flat out section.
I think Herman Tilke will use this 😅😅😅😅😅

Redesign imola please! Change rivazza 1 and 2 in to one big hairpin as well as widening the straight that leads to it. Also widen turn 1 entry
