You touched on this some time ago. You tore that CCV Box apart and that filter inside just crumbled in your hand. I remember it was bad too. I think I need to replace mine with 170K miles on it. Oils not leaking on the ground but it is coming from somewhere. And I don't think it's the Rear Main Seal either. Thanks for showing this repair and I hope a lot of SD owners take advantage of this video. Thanks.
I just did my own CCV myself it's quite doable, it just requires patience, 3 hands, and 7 joints in your arm LOL I also just had my EGR cooler done but I didn't do that myself. I had them put in the 2019 aluminum duty EGR cooler so that I don't have to worry about it again down the road.
@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod hey arrod I have a 2024 superduty with 2k miles on it and havent owned a diesel truck in over q0 13 years. What should I do for mods tuning and preventative maintenance?? I'm using best diesel I can but want to do a weight loss and tuning as I'm in canada any way I can chat with you for a few minutes?? If u don't want to discuss here?? Or just let me know some general ideas on what to do thanks
im glad my truck is under warranty still seeing these repair costs, even $700 is a lot. Good work though saving this man some money which I'm sure he works hard for and the stealership wanted to scam him for
Thanks for your informative videos. I just did this job, your video helped me alot. I have a question. The engine id tag and injector id tag on the ccv box is it important to save these? I was going to toss the old box but saw these and wanted your opinion
PTT!! First off, huge fan! I have a question on what brands you recommend on my 2023 f350 6.7? Power isn’t really what I’m shooting for but longevity. What do you trust and would give stamp of approval? You see these parts all the time and I don’t. Just looking for trust and guidance. 🙏🏼
Got a question for ya Arod. If i ever have to replace my ccv box on my 2012. Is that box the new style box for all the lower years truck. Keep up the great work brother.
Aaron: adaptive cruise will some times follow to a stop and sometimes cancel at 3 mph and would roll into the car in front of me. Why does it sometimes work and other times cancel, most of the time it cancels. My truck is a 2024 F350 SRW 6.7HO Platnium Tremor just to give you all of the details
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod another 1st world problem is my tailgate will go down via the button but not back up. All the time. Like a peasant I have to shut my tailgate manually 🤓. If you any thoughts on that. I haven’t gone by the dealer yet but just thought I would ask incase it’s one of those hit or miss issues that just comes up.
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod I followed your story, I know leaving the dealership was real hard! I know you will land on your feel, good people with good morals generally do. Thank you for the answer on my truck.
Normal, the dealership here just charged my 88 year old friend $9,000 on her 1-owner 05 Town Car with 89,000 miles, 4 new 02 sensors, 1 new intake, 8 new spark plugs, 4 new Catalytic converters, a coolant flush and oil change...
Excellent walk through as usual. Do you recommend the box # pinned in the comments for my 2017 as well? I'm not sure if I have the baffle one or the filter one on my truck, it's still original at 42k miles. I imagine I should change it in the near future?
When a dealer gives you a quote it is for the worst possible scenario as they dont know exactly what they are going to find until they open it up. If they quoted you $700 and it turned out to be $4000 you would be very pissed. !
Why not get this CCV box, new for 2023...

When watching I was curious why you didn’t get the new box? I’ve been putting on the new box when I replace any ccv on 6.7.

Your videos are hands down the most informative, complete SD tools available. Keep up the great work.
Thank you my friend, we try
It’s look like you landed a better gig, that’s awesome!

I had to change that box after cracking the tube installing a disaster prevention kit. Yeah, fun. Southern Az heat is tuff on everything!
With beaming reviews like that you guys are obviously doing something right 👍
Giving the stealerships a run for their money
Amazing! It is great you power washed his truck. Talk about attention to detail 😮

How did they change the egr cooler ? I'm about to do my 2016 that's clogged

Good ? Those #'s all get written into the PCM which can then be viewed a scan tool. Pitch it
I’d do the ccv reroute. I like the idea of all those gasses leaving vs getting filtered through
Thanks for the video. I'll probably never own a vehicle with a CCV box but commenting for the algorithm.
Thanks for the detailed video 👍🏼
Great timing on this video, as I was just about to go ahead and get a CCV 🚫 kit for my truck and I think I for sure will now! 🥴
FORD TRUCKS you can’t beat them! Nice job AROD
The real Hero is BRAKE CLEAN and 10MM tools.
Get ray to let you road test the orange gloves......they're the best.
Would you recommend upgrading to the new CCV box, or installing the SPE CCV "cheese grater"?
Nicely done my man😉👌💪💯
Just a suggestion. Matco makes some decent magnetic sockets. Also Koken makes some nut grabbing sockets.
I was quoted $550.00 to replace a rear pinion gasket at Brondes Ford !
Ok
My 22 F-350 has the non serviceable ccv I believe it’s just a oil drain back breather port if I’m not mistaken ford made the switch back in 2020

Thought about cleaning the engine compartment but scared to put water in there lol
Watch our engine wash video
Nice job
$7k for a CCV is heinous 😂
Being a 2016 you should’ve went ahead and replaced the vacuum pump gasket as well if it hadn’t already been replaced. JMO😊
It's things like this that have the potential to hurt the industry as a whole.

I'd do 1 every 30k

Yeah, I don't think so. Dude I worked at the dealer for 23 years. And that's not how I wrote estimates............
If they quoted me 700$ then that’s what I’m paying They quote 4000$ that’s what I’m paying no deals at the dealership
