Thanks I Love Diesels and have had them all my life. But, would not buy one today as a personal truck. I will go with gas and not tow heavy or just use as a tow behind. Reasons IMHO: 1. Have handled a small fleet of Rams, Duramax and PStrokes with each running 100k plus in miles per year. The number one issue we have with the trucks, Semis and equipment is the DEF systems. Absolutely hate them. The ones who designed, pushed and voted on this crap, should be made to repair themselves and pay for the repair. 2. The 20-30% fuel savings is lost in the fuel price. For us it avg between .50 to 1.25 Per Gall difference. Have seen it at 1.50. 3. HP Fuel Systems can be a huge issue. Seen it happen. So as much as I love the 2500 & 3500 diesels (have had many of them), not planning to buy any more unless things change drastically. THE JUICE IS NOT WORTH THE QUEEZE!!!! Again IMHO and this is for me and my family. Just giving food for thought.
se i would rather have gas in modern trucks BECAUSE diesel fuel is the poorest quality it has ever been in the USA and diesel trucks today are WAY so sensitive to contamination
Summit 4x4 nailed it!. That young man's professionalism and work process are a real treasure. What a great shop environment that was created to allow that young man to succeed. Aside from that, I have followed you since the first flat tire on your maiden voyage. Watch every week. I am building our trailer now. Hope to see you on the road in the future.
Im not even into trucks or mechanics, but this video was oddly satisfying. It’s always nice to see people do a job they are knowledgeable and passionate about, and that aspect came thru on this video. Bonus is seeing real men wrenching and fixing stuff. Definitely an art to be appreciated.
I made a similar (but less well phrased) comment, and then scrolled down a few lines and saw yours. Coulda saved my fingers a few keystrokes and just liked this one. 😉
Speaking as an old ex mechanic that did this kind of work, most folks now don't want to get their hands dirty and the time it takes to learn a skill. Most would rather make youtube videos and make easier money by not working for a living. I can't blame them for doing that.
The simple fact that you guys don't sit and talk us to death in your vids is a primary reason I keep following you and have for years. Not to mention the quality content you guys bring to the table.💖💖
@@KeepYourDaydream No need to worry. When you guys talk there is content being relayed you don't just babble. I have never, in all the years I have followed KYD, had to skip any of you content!!! NONE! Love all you videos, and so much so, I now drive an F350 SD(kind of influenced by you guys😉) we've bought Trish's cookbook and spices(and rebought the spices) etc etc. Much love and much respect to KYD and the KYD philosophy.💖💖
Great to see you guys not only find good people to work with, you find smart ones. That tech knows his stuff, and your friend is great at translating tech to English. This is probably the most educational video on truck wear and tear maintenance in suspension, transmissions, and steering I have ever seen. Thank you for doing what you do (travel and present) but even more, let the experts educate everyone on WHY to do this stuff, not just telling you to do it. Excellent Work!
@@Summit4x4Company I'm serious. I'd drive from our home in Oregon to your location to have a person like him work on my truck. You have a WINNER in that young man!
We couldn't agree more. He's a good one for sure and well worth the drive to get it done right! We'll be sure to pass along your kind words. @@tannerjim
I think the real question is, for me, coming out of this video is: with Mark’s new mustache situation, when is the KYD Barbershop Quartet going on tour?
Love your advice to start where you are! Our first trailer cost $200 at a yard sale in 2004.. It was a 1988 Kit Companion. The floor was rotten and I spent six months renovating it while the baby slept and my hubby was at work. We put about $2k into it and used it for years, pulling with a 1984 Suburban my hubby found for $1800. Fast forward 20 years... we've raised three kids and been through a few trailers, includi g a few lean years returning to the brave new world of car camping. Currently in the empty nester "couples trailer" stage and towing with our 2012 Tundra. It feels luxurious compared to our first setup! Thanks for all your inspo along the way.
Very good way to put it. Typing this as I sit in out popup with 7 of us (5 kids) plus a dog. Pulled the popup over 50,000 miles now. Crazy and challenging at times but the memories are what matters.
Just found your channel. I've got 135,000 on my 2017 F350 DRW diesel. Still has the original shocks, brakes and rear pads. Just spent $4k to fix the 4x4 since the interior switch wasn't engaging the front hubs. It's my daily driver. 86 miles a day. Love it and it still looks and drives like new.
Yup, that's what we did in 2021.. started with a not too expensive two berth ..and we just picked up our brand new bigger island bed caravan (travel trailer) last Friday!
Excellent video! Smart decision on the 2024. Looks like the folks at Summit know their stuff…..if you don’t have a good shop a trip there for major repairs might be worth it. Kudos to them for allowing you full access in the shop. Tells me they don’t mind video of their work…..they know what they are doing.
On our second Superduty…great truck. I upgraded from 2018 250 to 2022 350 DRW to upgrade campers so we could do a big toy hauler. We actually downsized from toy hauler back to small fifth wheel recently. We could downsize back to f250, but we would likely take a beating on that deal, so we are sticking with the F350. I agree that the F250 is much more nimble than the F350 dually. Also glad there was no damage to the differential…when I saw the chocolate milk my first thought was that’s not good. It’s good that they checked! I also echo the comments on the young mechanic. It’s refreshing to see talented young people going into these very much needed fields. It requires much knowledge and skill to work on vehicles.
Mark, I recommend a S&S Diesel replacement fuel pump or at least a disaster prevention kit! If that Bosh CP4 grenades it’s like a 11k fix. Love the mustache and truck looks awesome! Safe travels, go summer 2024!!!
Outstanding video, Marc. Summit will be on my west coat bucket list for sure, and kudos to the owner for letting you video the tech in such detail. The guy knows his stuff, it is quite refreshing!
Let me Thank You Mark for being a good consumer. You armed yourself with knowledge, which is so powerful to make your decisions. I have learned so much from you sharing your experience and transitions KYD as you travel the country. Hats off and much respect for the way you make the best decisions for you and yours. Thanks again for sharing.
It's good to see people that enjoy their jobs. That is an amazing shop. The feathering on tires on both the inside and outside are from lack of rotation, you need to rotate at leat every 6000 miles. Great video looking forward to this season.
You definitely have one of the gem SuperDutys. The pre 2020 trucks with the 6 speed are really solid. Ford is having a very hard time with a ton of quality issues, so you absolutely made the right choice. Im not going to lie, though. The 2024 Platnium with the Carmel interior is absolutely gorgeous.
I prefer the 6 speed also. It's essentially the same as the 5r110 that was designed for and introduced with the 6.0 powerstroke in '03. IMHO a great platform overall, with correct maintenance and updates for the engine of course.
Another great video. Thanks for the excellent content. 1 year ago, we were on our way to Arizona from Florida when we experienced the death wobble. Remembering your experience, we found that episode & scheduled an appointment with Summit in Prescott. We were very pleased with our experience with Summit 4x4. We’re happy with the way our 2017 F250 handles our Lance trailer through the mountains.
My husbands f350 super duty diesel finally came after a 2 year wait too. First trip pulling our 5th wheel, 2000 miles on the truck, we lost our transmission. Finally got it back after a month. Fingers crossed that we won’t have any other problems. I kinda wish we still had our f250.
I love listening to people who know what they are talking about. As a person who is not mechanically inclined, I can appreciate their explanations, by what they showed was normal, not normal and the "why's" of each thing. This is very helpful and gives me confidence to understand a mechanic a bit more. I would drive to this shop if I had a chance. Hard to find honest, hard-working people these days. Thanks for sharing this with us.
I have a 2022 F350 Tremor and I have to admit I really love this truck. A guy asked me "what do you pull with that?" I told him, "whatever I want." Love the super duty.
There is a youtuber who had a ford f350 tremor but because of the tremor package, it's not on par to tow their Alliance 5th wheel so they run to the Ram dealership and got a Ram cummins to be able to pull their heavy 5th wheel legally and safely.
@@j.l.salayao8055 the rest of the story is they changed from a travel trailer to the 5th wheel and found they were overweight. It pulled fine, but they were overweight. They wanted a ford 450, but had communication issues with the ford dealer. They settled for the ram.
I am on my second f450 and I love the wider stance on the front axle. Definitely handles great on the highway. What I do hate about my superduty is hole in the roof, aka sunroof. I hate all the dumb telescoping steering column, brake pedals, heated everything that will fail in 5-8 years. All this extra goofy electronic computerized garbage on these new trucks. I like electric windows and the bigger screen radio. The bigger brakes are a great plus for towing
I'm so glad i watched this vid. i never thought about changing my frontend and rear-end oils at all. my f-250 diesel has 117000 miles on it now. gonna take it in to get both changed this week, and now thinking about getting my steering upgraded thanks to you. you awesome.
Thank you for being so open and honest!! I also watch Car Edge, and I've learned soooooo much from them!! I would imagine that they will be getting a whole lot more visitors to their channel / site after this video!!❤
I also think they make really great content. And they're absolutely right to focus on "days supply" of vehicles as a way of judging the health of the market and the realism of the prices being asked. It's a shame the information isn't more publicly available but it's great they have an inexpensive way to view it.
Thanks for the commentary on why you passed on the 2024. I totally agree with your logic. I drive a 2000 F250 Crew Cab 4x4 with only 90k on it and using your logic, my net cost of ownership is zero as I can still sell it for what I paid for it with 60k miles 10 years ago. I replaced all of the ball joints and major suspension components about 5k miles ago and the truck handles wonderfully. The only downside for the truck is that it's a V10 which doesn't get good gas mileage. But it's been very reliable.
His logic regarding what a truck costs. Purchase price vs sell price down the road is incredibly misleading. First. The new truck at 105 k plus taxes etc will require a very high payment for most folks. With today's high interest rates the payment is even higher than it would be in 2019. I suspect the very high payment on the new 2024 truck exceeded his budget.
I’ve been watching the CarEdge guys for years. Nice to be in good company. Invaluable insights into the automotive sales industry. I will be looking for a new vehicle soon, so I used your code and saved a little money while I search as well. Great video too!
Love Caredge! I just found them myself and they will be instrumental in my buying a new Gladiator. Holding, . . .holding, . . . holding. Prices on everything are out of control, as you say. The bubble is bursting. Thank you for going through the sensible reasons why you passed on the 2024.
Always enjoy your videos and info you provide, for the DIYers like myself, I think its important to note, to always make sure you can unscrew the refill bolt on a diff cover first, because if you take the cover off, drain the oil out and can’t get that bolt loose, you will scrambling to get a new cover, which may or may not be readily available, and since you can’t put oil in the diff you can’t drive the truck.
I make the drive from Phoenix to Flagstaff and back about once a week, I noticed at the end of the video two cars pass you on the right. I'm sure you just got distracted by talking to the camera and you know the left lane is for passing. Thanks for the video.
I'm a retired semi-driver and the thing about changing all the batteries at the same time is bad advice. I bought a new Vovo in 82 and I bought a 35.00 load tester from Harbor Freight I replaced the batteries based on how they did on the tester, the truck had three batteries and I replaced two of them various times but one of them was still in the truck when I sold it with four hundred and ninety-five thousand miles.
I need to comment on oil changes. Oil filters have a limit to quantity of particles it can handle until they are completely clogged. After the filter is clogged, they have a built in bypass. Which means it will no longer filter the oil. I will say (with certainty) no filter lasts as long as a manufacturer states. Also, keep in mind, recommended oil changes are suggested by the people that would love to sell you a new vehicle.
I LOVE that you have a truck video this week. I have been watching your videos since the first season, and it's you who inspired me to buy an RV in the first place. Then like a bug in my brain, I had watched one of your previous videos where you talked about how much better a 3/4 ton truck tows, and it just so happened that yesterday I traded my Ram 1500 in and bought a new Ram 2500. Then about an hour before you published this video, I was re-watching your previous truck videos. I feel like the stars have aligned :D
I changed my diffs, transfer case, transmission fluid, and coolant every 30,000 miles on my Nissan Xterra I bought new in 2007. It is now at 280,000 miles and the only driveline item I've changed is replaced the starter at 240,000. On my second set of Bilstein 4600 shocks. I turn all my own wrenches. Very little towing but a LOT of off roading in San Juan (Rocky) mountains.
Excellent video. I have a 2016 F350 dually with almost 68K miles. I'm behind on my maintenance and this video is motivating me to get the maintenance done ASAP.
My favorite investment in all our vehicles is a programmer to keep the trans shifts short and tight. Can adjust the downshift so the motor actually works efficiently. 550k on our 2017 Allison trans.
Very nicely done. You give just enough details but I have to tell you, I love listening to professionals talk, That young man helping you is spot on and a true professional. Not only does he know how to install, he easily explains how the components work and what the effect if when the parts wear out. He is very impressive. I want that shop to work on my truck. I had our local shop change all my fluids but they stripped two bolt holes that showed signs of galling on the bolt. I am confident from all the air guns I heard within that shop, the mechanic used and air gun to try to take out the pan bolts on my transmission. The mechanics working on your truck show signs of true professionals. PS, I want to add a dual stabilizer to my 2004 F350 since I hope to get another 100,000 miles to the already 230,000 miles. The truck runs great and we just had the entire front end changed out. Great episode.
Great video! I enjoyed the total cost of ownership breakdown. I kept my last truck for 19 years and 362k miles. I expect to keep my current ‘21 F-150 Platinum FX4 Powerboost for 20 as well. You mentioned that your Airstreams have had low costs as well. I would like a video breaking down those costs as well. Safe travels!
Incase you weren't aware Mark, I replaced my steering dampener with the same Bilstein kit as yours, I have a 2019 SRW Lariat Ultimate. I was notified of the recall to replace that piece of plastic they passed as a dampener and when I brought my receipts to Ford for having replaced mine myself, they reimbursed me the entire amount. Just another thought you may want to share. Oh, if you have the mobile service come out to replace your rear camera, make sure they don't use metal tools on your paint. Great video, thanks.
Mark, another great video about trucks and maintenance. And you are correct, the new truck prices are just out of this world, and then add in the increases in interest rates, then the total price just becomes crazy. With your maintenance schedule and loads your are pulling, your F250 will last a long time, so other than new electronics in the cab, you aren't really gaining anything by purchasing a new truck, esp if you keep the same trim level. Thanks for sharing,
This is one of my favorites. Love seeing experts enjoy their work. Almost makes me want to compose a list of stuff wanted/needed on my Ram 3500 and make the 1800 mile journey.
Blackstone is a great company, and the info they provide is great for long term maintenance of vehicles. Toyota says oil change every 5k miles, I do 10k and Blackstone says I could do even more (2020 4Runner with 112000 miles). Also went from oem shocks to Bilstein, and the difference was incredible.
Great video. Preventative maintenance always pays for itself. Summit 4x4 continues to give outstanding sales and service to the local 4x4 community and my favorite UA-camrs!
I've had five Super Dutys (someone check my grammar here). 1: a 2000 F350, srw with a 7.3 diesel. 2: a 2006 F350 drw, with a 6.0...not a good engine, but a fantastic truck. 3: a 2012 F350 drw, with a 6.7...excellent truck, excellent engine, until 100k miles. Then 4: while getting the 2012 repaired, I saw a black 2015 F350 drw that had had a minor wreck...never do that in 2019, while hauling our four horses, we were rear ended on the freeway. Minor horse injuries, but the trailer was totaled...truck frame was bent. So, 5: a 2019 F450 xlt...I love this truck.
Did I miss it, what did the visit to summit 4x4 cost? Those guys really are amazingly, bit of a long drive for me to get there from Kansas, but gives me ideas for my mechanic to go over on an older super duty? Another great truck video!
I drive a 2015 F250 Platinum. Love the hell outta of it. We have a 33' pull behind. We had the death wobble, too. I swapped the stock Rancho RS5000X shocks with the Rancho RS9000XL and the wobble is gone. Anyone dealing with this issue, swapping out shocks for might be the easiest, most cost effective route. Fixed the problem for under $500 and about 2 hours of work.
Absolutely agree with your decision about the financial aspect. I have 2018 with only 32k mileage. I appreciate the honesty when it comes to truck issues and solutions. Thank you and Summit
Marc I hope you get this comment. When you get the DCR Pump You should think about getting the upper and lower fuel filters changed to HSM metal spin on filters. Word is a recall is coming down the line. Arod hooked me up a while ago no more worries of under the hood fires.. Good Day!
Great video Marc. My 2013 F350 with 78k is overdue shocks and front end inspection. This is a good time to mention to make sure that the front axle half shafts are getting greased when serviced. These seem to get overlooked often creating an easily avoidable significant expense. Looking forward to a possible CP4 to DCR pump conversion episode. Safe travels!
I think it is more critical that you have your truck in the tip top shape for all your travels. Taking it to Summit seems like your best option. They know your Ford F-250 and they know what works best. I tend to not trust mechanics so I have gone back to another repair shop where I know I can trust them.
Great video! If I may add something to your comments about death wobble; besides the steering stabilizes, adding castor angle to the front end alignment is key. The factory setting is very low to reduce steering effort at low speeds.
Great video and great wisdom on the true cost of truck ownership. I have a 2023 F250 Tremor with the 7.3 and love it. The DEF use on the 23 and newer powerstrokes is apparently much greater than previous years. When you do decide to upgrade I would take a hard look at the 7.3. I pull an 11k lb 38ft travel trailer and have been very impressed. Getting 8-9mpg towing makes the diesel really hard to justify when most are only getting around 11 towing similar weights. The 7.3 with 4.30 gears pulls exceptionally well.
As a Jeep owner where death wobble is a thing. Dual Stabilizers are a bandaid that masks the death wobble feel less but also hide the problem. The bump is a geometry thing in your suspension.
While I love my Ram, you make a pretty good case for the Super Duty. You made the right choice sticking with the 6 speed. The 10 speed is always on the hunt. Favorite line, I am not going to answer that on camera. Safe travels.
Mark, excellent video, probably one of your best. Very informative for any Super Duty owner. Keep up the good work. That "milk" that came out of the differential was unbelievable. You dodged a bullet on that one. Congrats on finding an incredible repair shop. If I were in the area, I would certainly have them do the work on my truck.
Great Video! We have a 2017 version of the same truck you have, even down to the color. I've had it at the dealership 2 times for the death wobble and each time they just replace the crappy Rancho steering stabilizer. The is a diesel shop near my house that does suspension and I'm going to take it there to get checked out. I've been looking at the same steering stabilizer that you just put on and will get that done in addition to replacing any worn out components. We only have 52K miles on it, but the bulk of that is towing 5th wheel RV's.
As for maintenance, all my vehicles have over 250k on them. Gas and diesel, i change all engine oil at 5k miles, transmissions & transfer cases I do every 25k and axles get done at 100k miles. I even have my kids doing this. It's just easy to remember the numbers 5,10,15 your oil gets done 25,50,75k transmission. Spend a little extra now to make it last. I do all my own work so that helps with the bill also. Im big on preventative maintenance.
I love my 22 Ford F350 Tremor. It’s the best truck I’ve owned and I’ve had a lot of different brands. I don’t like the look of the 23-24. I’m definitely going to install the dual stabilizer kit. It’s hard to find a good quality shop, they look top notch.
Great info thanks!! I was a Ford guy for years.. (2) Expeditions (2) F150’s (1) F350 King Ranch 6.4 … I wanted a new Dually to tow our 42’ 5th wheel.. After seeing the 13 month wait on a factory order.. I went with the Chevy Silverado High Country 3500 Dually.. did I say 10. Speed??!!!! Awesome Chevy got me the truck of my dreams in under 3 months!!! (Factory ordered) .. closest dealer that was getting the truck was 50 miles from my home….Bought it in late Dec 23 and she currently has 8600 miles on it now.. My wife and I drove to Florida 2 weeks ago for Spring Training and family time.. what a great driving machine!!! 21.9 mpg down and 16.9 mpg home to Pa. No trailer attached.. lol( ouch 🤕))… our trailer is getting mods and repairs done.. hope to be done by vacation season.. maybe we’ll see you on the road sometime… love your channel and Changing Lanes as well. Thanks again
Big fan of Car Edge, father and son started the business and dad was in the car business. Great UA-cam channel for understanding the ins and outs of buying a car.
Years ago, I had service guys tell me I was wasting money with overkill on service. At every oil change, I changed the fuel filter and alternated changing (trans filter and transfer case oil) (front and rear diffs). But a 1999 Dodge 2500 5.9 cummins that towed approx 75% of it's life with much of that towing a 24' GN horse trailer. Then a 2005 Dodge 3500 dually HO 5.9 cummins towing a 42' living quarters 4 horse trailer all over the NC, TN & VA mountains. No drivetrain issues out of either truck. I traded both running and towing great, the 1999 had 251K miles and the 2005 had 207k miles when I traded.
Fabulous, honest, knowledgeable mechanics! Loved the education in this video for me, a woman who generally travels alone. I just had issues on the road recently (rear diff/transaxle) and relied on mechanics to check and then tell me I was safe to drive straight home. (They were right.) Rear end now being rebuilt by my mechanic. But I tuck away these type of names for the future -- you never know when it will be needed. I don't own or drive a truck but this was great info to have should I move that direction. TY!
On the stabilizers bumping: There was a change to the engine crossmember for 2019, so kits made for 2017-2018 models would bump it. I had that situation and it bumped BAD until we figured out that they ordered the wrong part and there was a kit designed for the 2019. Got the shop to take the hit and install me the right one at no extra cost, they are the professionals and should know what parts to order.
Spot on Marc! We bought our 2019 F-150 2.7L XLT (because we tow just a small TT with UWV=4200lb) in January of 2020 and because of soft market and all rebates we paid $46K Canadian for it (after all taxes) with MSRP window sticker of $57,249 Canadian before taxes... (still have a pic of the Ford blue window sticker they have to display on each car here). It was two months before the pandemic and then crazy things kicked into overdrive :). I can sell it now for $39-40K Canadian (based on mileage and equipment package) or just $6K less, crazy! Of course the question is a bit more complex because that 40K is not worth what it was in 2019 but that is a side discussion of a separate topic. That truck got us through two 3 month trips to US with the trailer one all the way to CA so it did great and I would not be looking at a different vehicle precisely for the reason you have stated, and that is the market is just still not even close to being balanced and this is reflected in the pricing and absence of incentives.
A shop willing to let you video is a shop worth doing business with 100%! This country is highly short on good mechanics, but there is 0 shortage of I know a cheaper guy parts changers!
Mark I HIGHLY recommend the shop in Wichita Kansas called Atlas Spring and Axle and I've got the same opinion for 40+ years. Very good suspension and axle alignment stuff etc.. Extremely nice and good people that are honest and Great to work with.
Still the best RV lifestyle content, how you guys aren’t getting more views and traction is beyond me. I check in every couple of months and you are consistent and fun as always! Thank you.
The true preventive measure to prevent death wobble is a $30-40 set of caster shims. You need more caster than they come with in stock from. I did that to my 2020 Tremor as soon as I bought it, and zero front end issues so far at 42k miles.
I was in your exact same boat ordered a new f350 tremor took forever to get built. Have a 2019 f350 king ranch. And decided to just keep it just did pretty much all the same maintenance definitely made it feel like a new driving truck again. Glad I decided to keep like you did.
Yes, I should have mentioned that we both missed our window in selling our trucks to make upgrading a cost effective decision. Mostly due to how long it took Ford to make the '23 which turned into the '24.
First: Rockin' that stash!!🧔♂ Second: I'm not a gear head but I enjoyed watching everything that knowledgeable young man did! Felt like a little kid again watching my dad work! It's nice to see people take care of their things. Well done Marc!
We have the exact same truck except in Black. Just a little over 100k have already changed the oem shocks to the Blistein 5100s definitely looking at the exact same front end work you've just had completed. Had death wobbke at 20k had Ford fix it as part of the recall no issues so far. Truck had about 15k when we purchased however other than tires and one set of brakes we've had no other issues. Thanks for your continued content as some of your other mods are also in my radar.
My OCD would be going crazy with having 5100s on the steering stabilizer an 4900s on as the shocks. You guys have been apart if our RVing journey since before we bought our first. Thank you for the continued great content.
Thanks for this video. This is quality reliable content. You guys being willing to shared your experience at this level detail is so appreciated. Thank you so much.
⛽ Gas Vs. Diesel Blog: www.keepyourdaydream.com/diesel/
Thanks
I Love Diesels and have had them all my life. But, would not buy one today as a personal truck. I will go with gas and not tow heavy or just use as a tow behind.
Reasons IMHO:

@@jos6216 The EPA has ruined all diesel engines with their regs. It's just sad.
Don’t ever let a place hook a machine up and “flush” your transmission. Drain, replace filter, fill, done. Never “flush”.
🎯
Ford hasn’t been drain and fill for a couple decades. You have to have a special machine to extract or add fluid.

That kid working on your truck at the end. Those dudes are treasures. We need like a million like him.
We agree!
I came here to make a similar comment. Love seeing a person that cares about their job, and you can tell he does.
@@Summit4x4Company I just bought an F-350 and want some similar work done... how far out is your typical scheduling?
It was nice seeing that he had invested wisely in his tools and went very affordable on his box and roll cart.
It sure is a pleasure seeing a younger person who is knowledgeable, confident and articulate in the service industry.
Thanks John. We're glad you're here.
❤
Ha! I just got done watching and made similar comment 😄👍💕!
Except this time! I figured people could skip to the satisfying part.
Such a pleasure seeing people work and share info who are skilled experts in their field.
THE VERY YOUNGGGGGGG MAN THAT WORKED ON UR VEHICLE WAS IMPRESSIVE WITH KNOWLEDGE. LUV U KID'S.
I agree. Alex was a terrific mechanic.
@@KeepYourDaydream How do I reserve Alex? Dude was very polite and WOW did he know his stuff. Impressive!!!!
We’ll be sure to let him know! He’s a keeper!!
@@tannerjim
Great video Marc!! We're stoked you're happy with your upgrade and glad we checked those diffs ;) Looking forward to seeing you again. Safe travels!!
Thanks! I love that the trending comment is how nice it is to see talented people do their job well. That's what I loved seeing too. Until next time.
Well this is awesome. I live in the Prescott area. Thanks for the shop place to go!!!
I think the real question is, for me, coming out of this video is: with Mark’s new mustache situation, when is the KYD Barbershop Quartet going on tour?
🎵 I'm looking for 4 more guys. Shave the goat and join us!

Nice job. I'm reminded that things depreciate overtime while experiences appreciate.
Very good way to put it. Typing this as I sit in out popup with 7 of us (5 kids) plus a dog. Pulled the popup over 50,000 miles now. Crazy and challenging at times but the memories are what matters.
Just bought a F-350 7.3l gas in anticipation of getting an RV in 1-2 years. In the last 6 months, I’ve loved it. Thanks for posting this video.
Same Same; purchasing an RV in the next few years... Just bought a F350 SuperCab Short Box Lariat HO Diesel , WOW... 4,314 lbs. Payload
Welcome. Lots of truck content if you search KYD Truck Mods. More repairs and updates to come this year.
Start small...start now. ABSOLUTE GOLD.
Yup, that's what we did in 2021.. started with a not too expensive two berth ..and we just picked up our brand new bigger island bed caravan (travel trailer) last Friday!
Definitely. We had a small RPod and a Tundra. We loved them and we were able to sell that and get a new outfit last summer.
💯
Installed the S&S DCR on my 2018 F250 @173,000 mi. Peace of mind for the longer term not having the CP4 failure issue and the expensive repair.
I agree on that.
My wife was less than interested in this episode, but in my opinion, this is the BEST GUY video you have ever posted! Bravo!
There will be plenty for your wife in the upcoming episodes! Appreciate your feedback.
So happy the fix is still holding strong!!
Uhg. Sorry. Truck problems are the worse.
Fords are junk. Don’t understand why people keep buying them.
Wondering if you are still running factory emissions or have you fully deleted?
See where that vent hose runs to. If it goes into the wheel well area , move it to the inboard frame area out of water.
You would love the steering on a 24 super duty with lane keep assist. Night and day difference
As a 2021 F250 Owner. I LOVED this video
Now, I am going to remove the cream cheese out of my front diff, and add the dual stabilizers.
🤣
Thankyou Mark! This opened my eyes to what kind of maintenance is truly necessary!
The truck episodes are some of my favorite. This one is the best! I’ve watched it 3 times already, so much information.
You’re gonna love the Bilstein shocks, night and day difference over OEM. It’s one of my first upgrades on all my trucks.
Could you share a link or what term to google for that?
Dang! This thing reads like a crystal ball! TY Marc and Tricia for all you to to share wisdom to the community (F350, 25RBQ)
Thanks for sharing,
Thank you, my Bff has a F-250 and just today we were discussing the front end of his Truck. Sharing this with him for sure. 😍
🙌 We appreciate you!
Stinks when they are taken from you, and you don’t need a new one on YOUR terms…. I’ve been there done that.
Did I miss it, what did the visit to summit 4x4 cost?
Those guys really are amazingly, bit of a long drive for me to get there from Kansas, but gives me ideas for my mechanic to go over on an older super duty?
Another great truck video!
Summit did a great job and also very informative. Nice clean organized shop. Professional Folks.
You dont want to say it, well let me. That price tag is way too f___i g high. Should be 1/4 of that price. There needs to be an affordable pickup
What a great video detailing the front end work. Impressive shop! Thank you. Safe travels.
It looks like Summitt is THE PLACE to go for excellent work on your vehicle!!
They're fun to watch.
TY!
I have a Ford 2021 E350 with the 7.3 Godzilla motor. Plenty of power and none of the hassle of diesel ⛽️
I have a 2019 Powerstroke myself and I absolutely love it! That shop is a class act, you don't find nearly as many like that as you used to.
This was one of your best truck shows…….learned a lot from this……thank you.
We're headed west soon, so I'm reluctantly encouraging Vinnie to watch this video. So satisfying with all the shop talk ~ Wanda (& Vinnie)
Come check out the shop! We’d love to give you the grand tour on your way through!
A shop willing to let you video is a shop worth doing business with 100%! This country is highly short on good mechanics, but there is 0 shortage of I know a cheaper guy parts changers!
Nice to hear Mark, you went to synthetic oil changes! All the service will help it last!
You made the right choice to keep the truck Mark. That engine is just broken in and now with the "re-mods", you're golden. GREAT GREAT episode!
Mark I HIGHLY recommend the shop in Wichita Kansas called Atlas Spring and Axle and I've got the same opinion for 40+ years. Very good suspension and axle alignment stuff etc.. Extremely nice and good people that are honest and Great to work with.
Thank you. I'm attempting to keep a list of quality shops. So far I have 3 lol.
First: Rockin' that stash!!🧔♂
Second: I'm not a gear head but I enjoyed watching everything that knowledgeable young man did!
I have a 2019 F250 XLT white. You’re gonna like the shocks. I replaced mine including the stabilizer around 60,000 miles.
Very informative. The people at Summit look like a first class group. I may need to take drive up the hill before this years miles.
Summit does great work! Your “paying attention” comment is SO VERY TRUE! I really enjoyed watching this one. Thanks for doing it!
