Maybe a bit too personal a comment, but I love listening to you. You sound like my Nana who came to the USA from St. John's Newfoundland with my grandfather (Papa). They worked on fishing boats before coming here. I keep waiting for you to say "a spot of tea" as they did. Thank you for your accent. It brings back truly beautiful memories.

My Nana used to make a sweet bread-type pudding, cooked in a cheesecloth or similar, brown in color, and unless I am mistaken, I believe she boiled it right in with the boiled dinner (pork shoulder). She made some type of sweet white sauce that was served with it. I was probably 6 or 8 years old. Does this ring a bell, or is it my imagination? If you have a name. or a hint, I'd love to try to make it for my grandkids. It was great with a spot of tea. Thank you, and God bless you too.

I made this for dinner this evening and it was delicious! I had to use the fish I had in the freezer which was salmon and the soup I had was cream of chicken! The only grated cheese I had was mozzarella so I used that. So you were right when you suggested to use what you have on hand as it turned out so well. The only addition I made was to chop up a little fresh dill which I added to the sauce. Thank you so much for this recipe -it’s a keeper.
