I love watching old Caisey Neistat videos, because at first you think 'man this is so cliche' then you realize, oh shit, this was at the beginning of youtube and this was what originated the cliches and it blows my mind everytime.
This was one of my favorite deep dives, because I truly expected to not like Casey. All i knew about him was vlogs, and I knew I didn't like the concept of them (or at least the concept of what they became) and that he was one of YTs favorites that they always put in UA-cam rewind, and the otherpeople that were YTs favorites were all so annoying to me that I just assumed he was the same. He is genuinely a great dude, and I am glad this video showed me that.
16:04 That laugh got me insanely emotional as well, watching this on the couch next to my 3 year old Son; I can't wait to share those moments with him. He's a goofball as it is right now, but he's just recently developed a personality, and I'm very excited to travel with him, capture every moment on my cameras, and watch them with him when he becomes a Man.

i think it’s also worth mentioning how much the Safdie brothers (directors of Uncut Gems and Good Time) were involved with Casey’s stuff in the beginning. New york filmmakers doing cool shit together. Like the safdie brother’s movie Daddy Longlegs, and them working on the show together. Always doing cool shit, always on top of it, if he’s not your goat you don’t know him.
I’m a big fan of stanz and these styles of react. But I started watching UA-cam when a friend recommended Casey. He said he wasn’t what most of UA-cam was. He was stylistic and creative. Every aspect was a lesson. He taught me a lot about filmmaking and photography. Running too. But that was a long time ago. It’s cool to see stanz experience what I did in my formative years.
Its funny, I loved Casey's old videos (the studio tour, Do the right thing, custom sunglasses, etc). When he started daily vlogging I actually unsubscribed because it was so spammy. Then like two years later I hear he's one of the top UA-camrs and I realized I had a lot of catching up
React content isn’t. This also isn’t very revolutionary. BUT, doing a weekly dive into a random creator? That’s cool. It’s not about reacting to content, it’s about reacting to a creator and the content they’ve made. Cool stuff.

What me beast does isn’t even “revolutionary”, I’m not sure you fully understand the definition of that word lol, UA-cam content is basically never revolutionary, impactful? Maybe. Revolutionary is a big leap. Using fossil fuels for energy was revolutionary, creating mind-numbing content never will be.
For the commentary on kids that age in music class: There's music class for them, it's normal, but what it actually is done is that you give the kids a bunch of easy to use instruments that they just have to hit or move and they learn their sounds that way Or they just put them in their mouth 50/50

I think a great one to do with Vlogs would be Charles Trippy (ctfxc / Charles and Alli). For context, Casey may have perfected, but Charles was the most dedicated. Vlogging everything from touring with his band, to his battle with cancer and a brain tumour. In 2019 he got the world record for consecutive daily vlogs for over 10 years without missing a day. I think his streak is still unbroken despite a decline in veiws

Around 2015, there was this guy in my university that I'm pretty sure didn't really understand the fact that Casey Neistat probably does some setup in the behind the scenes and would just put a camera in people's face to talk to them. He did that with the head of our department as the HOD entered the campus and let's just say HOD was not amused.
All this time I've never checked Casey Neistat out because everyone pitched him to me as "the original daily vlogger" and I hate daily vlogging with a passion, so couldn't imagine ever liking the guy who invented the format. I had no idea how long he'd been around, or how much else he had done though! Looks like I've been missing out on a great content creator just because he used to do daily vlogging.
I'm about the same age as Stanz and I do not understand how anyone from our generation made it through their 20s without an emotional support UA-camr. Neistat was for sure mine, and I have a bunch of half shot cringey vlogs and drone shots rotting on a hard drive to prove it. Really glad to see this deep dive and also absolutely looking forward to/dreading the Dobrik ep

But in generell i would love to see all 3 ideas! love the videos!
