you should know where the name Pink Floyd Comes from. Band named after Pink Anderson & Floyd Council. two African American blues men from the 1920s.
I hope you see this. If you like this song by Pink Floyd, get the album "The Wall" and listen to all of it. That is the album Comfortably Numb is on. After you listen to the album, get the movie. The movie will put things more into perspective.
You really need to try Not now John...by pink floyd
If I knew where you were I would let you here this thru my alpine and focal and kenwood setup 4000 watts at a stable 2ohm. It's f-n awesome. So clean and clear, you hear every nuance.
just informing.
Never EVER listen to Pink Floyd with ONE headphone! This band practically INVENTED stereo rock!
Did you know they recorded Dark Side of The Moon on 5.1 surround? If you have a surround sound system with 5 boxes and a subwoofer I really recommend you to listen to it. There’s probably a download and there’s a CD you can buy that has this 5.1 surround. You’ll hear things you have never heard before, I promise you that.
actually the original album was recorded in quadraphonic sound.
excerpt from wiki: "The recordings were initially created as a quadraphonic test by (Alan) Parsons, who recorded each timepiece at an antique clock shop."
Joel Quadraphonic too I believe.
I thought exactly the same thing. But he still enjoyed it. Did you see the way he slumped slowly throughout the song while closing his eyes and stopped talking to the mike? He became totally immersed.
Plus Led Zep were flipping ears a lot earlier
Dude! Two ears! It’s PINK FLOYD!
seen123 I was thinking the same
Absolutely, you need that stereo sound son!
this cannot be stressed enough
Idk how anyone can use just one at any time. To each their own I guess.
seen123 to be pedantic it was actually originally mixed quadraphonic (a now defunct system with 4 speakers, 2 behind you), not stereo. I heard it like this on a vinal system that cost about £60,000... it was one of the most intense experiance of my life. I hadn't taken anything either! If im ever really rich I'm getting the original quad mix on vinal and setting up a similar system. I would say we are all missing out even when listening in stereo!
The second guitar solo was the first time I ever cried because of music. I was 12 yrs old at the time.
That's beautiful
I feel this
WarPoodle 2600 when i attended Roger Waters’ concert with my whole family we all cried during this solo. The oldest being my grandma (85) and me as the youngest (15). Their music is so fucking timeless, universal and beautiful it’s impossible not to like it
David Gilmour can pour more soul into one note than the entire run of all episodes of Soul Train.
It gives me chills everytime I hear it.
You really need to listen with high quality headphones that cover both ears because many of the recordings of the 70's and 80's were recorded in a manner called "pan-pot" (pan potentiometer ), a technique in analog recording in which parts of the audio were directed specifically to the left or right speaker. Even if your single earbud has stereo sound, you are missing out on the effect, which can be stunning due to the layering used by so many recording artists. Treat yourself to some top-quality headphones and you won't be disappointed.
Great advice for the newbies
Every time he stops to tell us "I just want to close my eyes and lay back", I'm like: "Thats what you're supposed to do!" And wear a pair of headphones instead of earbud... your ears will thank me for it later...
@Figueroa Rocks - Any similarity between you and a human is purely coincidental. Get off the internet.
Jennifer.... Brilliant advice.
If you really want to get into Floyd vinyl is the best route.
Then to make it even better run it though a DBX to deprocess/decompress it to bring out all the tracks.
Of course with some high-end headphones or quality studio speakers.
Awesome choice Joey, you wont be disappointed.
I always love it when someone "discovers" Pink Floyd.
NW Monk. Yesss!!! 😊😊😊😊
Blew me away when I discovered them. But then again I got baptized by "Live From Pompeii" and a Joint...
Never looked back after that. I went full steam into their music and others that remind me of them.
I agree....i use to love burning down to this song...one of my first concerts.
Same, I grew up in the 80s. Floyd was my life and I love the reactions people have when they hear it for the first time.
I agree, it's a beautiful thing.
This bloke. Feels. Every. Note. It's beautiful to see.
Too right!
I agree.
I agree. That's why he is so popular. He inspires me to listen to every note, now.
Beautiful
Yes, absolutely Peter. And good for you Linda L.
Pink Floyd is TIMELESS
Especially that one song, Time
It warms my heart to see so many young people discovering our music.
We had the best!
One earbud??????? Oh no no no child. Wrong on so many levels! This is Pink Floyd...
"I like this little solo right here" All I could think was - "just wait man, just wait."
EnigmaT1m I thought the same thing
Lol, same
exactly what I thought and was happy to see it hit him. too bad it was a fade out version and he that didn't get the entire final solo.
Lol get ready for those shivers to go down your spine. I’ve heard this song and solo so many times live and studio and I still get the damn chills when that second solo starts
thought the same :')
Nice to see you being blown away by the best band in history.
It might help if he could appreciate the context of the song in the opera that is "The Wall"... I never liked the songs from The Wall, until i saw the movie when i was like 15 ...
Harald Christiansen it's like seeing someone find Jesus
I call it a Mini Big Bang!
Recorded in Abbey Road studio's by Alan Parsons as well.Production can't be beat.
+Harald Christiansen - I strongly disagree, not the best band in history... Simply: The Best Band in the Whole Space Time...
My dad introduced me to this music as a kid. I still love it.
Cut from the same cloth dude. This is what my dad raised me on in the 90's.
Same
If you dont cry during the solo .i dont think you’re human enough 😂😂
i listen to Pink Floyd everyday when i wake up and when i go to bed
Pittsburgh history
Best solo in Rock!!!
Quite right mate, the solo is so intense n beautiful
The only bad thing about Comfortably Numb is the ending of the song cutting off Dave Gilmour's solo. Let him finish his nut.
JJ hahahahaga so true
Any other Floyd fan moderately annoyed that the video has Dark Side as the background instead of The Wall
I'd like to hear a reaction to watching the movie. This was a rock opera. It's hard to judge one piece without knowing the whole.
Mike Mansfield no it’s okay.
Remember he knows nothing about it.
Hard to grasp He’s Never Heard It Before Now!
That’s what’s so cool
Just want to comment the same thing...its a kind of heretic to have DSOTM album photo on wall's song...
This is from a special edition album.
Moderately.... But we'll give him a pass though. He's listening to Pink Floyd for Gods sake!!
I saw Floyd live in Melbourne Australia in the 1990's 7 nights in a row. One of the greatest and most stoned weeks of my entire life.....
i wish i could of been there.. i bet it was amazing !
Saw them in New York and New Jersey. Best band ever!!!!!!!!!
Was it for the division bell tour? That production was insane
Pink Floyd is like xanax for me . Instant anxiety reduction .
Same!
I have been on youtube for about 10 years & have commented maybe a dozen times total...Today, I've commented on you 3 or 4 times...I am sooooooo getting into you discovering Floyd...Just Wow & Thanks...Too cool...!
You just made an old dude smile...BIG TIME!!! Our kids turned me on to a huge variety of music over the past 15 years. I am really happy I found your page here... watching your reaction is actually making me feel a bit better about this wild-ass world.
Same as that Andrew! I'm a 56 year old Brit. I don't know why this music hasn't flagged up on younger people's radar until now but even back in the day in the UK at least it was a bit of an exclusive club. My 16 year old son & his mates are getting into a lot of it though & even going to see Liam Gallagher tomorrow. I'm open to all music & *LOVE* a lot of the Black Rap stuff & UK Grime like *Chipmunk, Tinnie Tempha & Dizzy Rascal!*
Right on right on... always hope somewhere, somehow.
Same here Andrew. Seeing Joey react to this masterpiece makes me smile and even brings a tear to my eye. I so love this song and what can I say, Pink Floyd is the bomb. Cheers!
Dark Side of the Moon. The whole album. Pink Floyd does concept albums. Each song flows into the next. Do Darkside in its entirety. Then, buckle you seatbelt. You have fifty years of Pink Floyd to catch up on.
100% agree, Dark Side of the Moon is a singular entity. Sit and chill for 45 minutes and enjoy, you will be changed.
Vinand Sori did a live DSOTM review earlier this year and they were changed people by the end of the record. It's a must do.
Allan Petterson that and wish you were there are both solid album to listen straight
This isn't from dark side of the moon though... It's from the wall
MonsieurNoodle or trip balls to it
I cut my teeth on Pink Floyd, my brother bought Dark Side of the Moon when it was released, I was 9 or 10 at the time and my parents were deep into Country music, so that was all I heard, until being exposed to Pink Floyd. At first I didn’t get it, until I listened to the whole album about three times. From that point on I was hooked. My brother barely had a chance to listen to the album. I played it so many times he gave up and gave me the album. I wore out two record needles and dang near wore the grooves outta the album. I’d been playing the guitar since I was a whipper, and could play almost everything Johnny Cash had out. When I heard David Gilmore’s guitar playing, I wanted to learn more and that turned into more and more experimenting with all types of music. I listened to your album, I liked it, did you produce it yourself? Dude You got it going on!
Great but you know this song is from the wall
Elijah Simon when does he say that it’s not
The song is connected to a whole story of the lead singer, I would highly HIGHLY suggest listening to the whole album of The Wall, in the dark, with a fat spliff in one hand ❤️🔥 love that your learning the classics
Or better yet, watch the movie.
Craig Goetsch yes the film is a masterpiece!
Learning the classics with a spliff is the most classic way nowadays. I have such amazing memories
Martijn Ras A spliff is fine, but nothing beats watching the movie tripping balls on acid. Ah...the memories from the 80s and 90s.
The Dark Side of the Moon cd started on the lion’s third roar at the beginning of The Wizard of Oz is a pretty good too watch also.
yeah watch the movie, but go see them perform the wall live...the most amazing concert you will ever see..I have seen them do it 3 times already, first two times we were back further, the 3rd time we were vip center 2nd row, and I would definitely go again!!
Bro You Gotta Put In Both Headphones When Listening To Pink Floyd
its just this one video lol my bad.. my headphone started messing up had to take it out... but i re listen its blew me away !
Joey Reacts lol I checked out some of your other videos and noticed you do use two haha I was just saying for the amazing experience haha peace and love bro
ha ha, when the other headphone went in I was like THANK FUCK!
@@CrownFamilyHQ Listen to the version with Eddie Vedder from 2012 hurricane Katrina benefit concert. Vedder slayed it 👍🏻👍🏻
I love this guy! I'm sitting here watching the man listen to Pink Floyd!
don't you think sometimes what kind of worthless the life have become in these kind of situations.
You and me both I love this guy I love his reaction to this great song one of the best openings of any song ever and still gives me chills and goosebumps
David Gilmour is a true God amongst men.
TackyWhale Roger Waters is the true genius though
Roger Waters owes his entire career to Gilmours God like Guitar playing so enough with this Waters made Pink Floyd! Funny how 2 albums after Waters left Pink Floyd went triple Platinum in the first few months after each came out but yeah Waters is the man
Manas Kulkarni waters is the man and a his ideas are timeless but Dave is the guy you think of when you think Pink Floyd. I wouldn’t go past a 1 a 1b argument but I’d still favor Dave’s role a bit more.
Manas Kulkarni a genius bass player*
That guitar solo by David Gilmour still gives me chills and i'm nearly 50, and been listening to Pink floyd for along time...👍
Dark side of the moon. Listen to the whole album. You got to really listen to the words. Not just the how it sounds. It will change your life.
im currently listening to it now.. im doing it song by song.. im track #5 right now stay tuned for more vids
What you really need to do is have the wizard of floyd experience....sync the wizard of oz movie with the dark side of the moon album!
It's from "the Wall". Always listen the whole album a few times in a row to starting to understand the concept. A lot of the songs blend into other ones so listening to seperate songs can be weird at first.
Pink Floyd is one of the best rock bands in the history or rock bro.
Nice try but appreciated
Surely in top 5
Close.. they are number one.. can't be argued.. a brand that plays one album for decades and continues to sell out shows.. can't argue it
@@blakeharris3109 it's true
@@blakeharris3109 they still sell out shows as solo artists.
I grew up on this incredible music and I STILL feel what you are feeling 40 years later. I was a teenager when a lot of this music came out and it was like nothing I had ever experienced before. Opened my soul up to a whole new level. Watching your reactions to hearing and experiencing this music for the very first time has been exhilarating for me, as I KNOW just what you are feeling. It is pure MAGIC. Thanks for sharing and for being so open to things that are new to you. Life is only going to get better and better for you because you are allowing yourself to grow as a human being. That is what we are all here for, after all!
The greatest guitar solo of all time.
Second best, tops. The greatest solo is in Time. For pure pyrotechnics I have to go with Eruption by Eddie Van Halen.
Agree to disagree. I prefer the solos in November Rain but yeah Pink Floyd’s Guitar Solis are amazing
@Brandon
No dived golumer
is better than slash
If you liked this one I recommend listening to Shine on you Crazy diamond (Also by Pink Floyd)
Pedro Sousa luv this one ! Okay will do
Pedro that's a great album wish you were here five great songs. Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part 1 to 5 and the last song is Shine On You Crazy Diamond parts 6 to 9 and three fantastic songs in the middle I can't remember their names for the life of me right now if you can let me know what they are that would be great
Robert Longwill welcome to the machine, have a cigar, wish you were here
@@robertlongwill8856 what elisha said
@@elishasterckx3558 thanks Elisha and I have that CD in my truck and it's one of my favorite albums and thanks again that's a great album
That's the wrong album cover for Comfortably Numb. It should be The Wall.
Yeah that's someone's vid
The video he played, the uploader states that the album cover is wrong, and that the cover shown is for "Dark Side of the Moon" but decided to use that since he liked that cover more, and the cover has become synonymous with Pink Floyd in general.
I'm black and loved pink floyd for a long time. They are beyond music. They give me a great feeling and put me on a journey through their music. I think they are the greatest thing to happen to music ever. They sway my soul and shake it.
Closing your eyes helps when hearing pink Floyd man it makes you feel like you are some where else.
You picked one of the hardest Bands\Albums\Song to break down. To me, one of, if not the most complex bands of all time in any genre. The album has so many great songs but can easily lose meaning if you listen out of context. What I mean but that is the album is a story. Some songs on their own might not sound that good but when you know the story line you really see the significance to it. Love what you're doing with shedding light on the classics. They don't call them "Timeless Classics" for nothing.
Check out Pink Floyd - Dogs.
17 minutes of greatness.
Pulsar77 will do !
All of that album, "Animals" especially sheep. You should also check out "The Wall" & see the Pink Floyd movie "The Wall" It will blow you away. This song is in it & you will understand it even more; very sad but lovely.....
Well, 13 minutes of greatness with 4 minutes of bullshit in the middle
I just turned 63, and have been a HUGE fan since first hearing them back in 1975. 40+ years. I think 'Animals' is probably my favorite PF album. The one I keep going back to.
Chaos Path... With weed, its not bullshit 😋
This dude has the best reactions.. I feel like I would have loved hanging out with this guy back in high school after school, smoking weed and listening to all this good music for the first time, no homo.
Your appreciation and love of music is very evident with each selection. I am really enjoying watching you enjoy music. Keep doing what you do.
Pink Floyd are sound architects. They are not limited by "songs". They express music at the concept level. Comfortably Numb makes a lot more sense if you understand the whole album. Try the album, The Dark Side of the Moon or a track from it. Or Wish You Were Here, Animals, Meddle or of course, The Wall.
Jim M. Love this sound !
Comfortably Numb is off the Wall album, not Dark Side of the Moon.
Half of Pink Floyd are sound architects. The other two are along for the ride.
If you really want to understand Pink Floyd watch the movie The Wall
Well that's a start.
Those first few seconds you listened to are technically a different song.
This song is off an album called "The Wall", which is a concept album. At this point in the album, the main character is very ill and in severe pain, but needs to pull himself together to do a major concert. So a physician has loaded him up with painkillers so he can make it through the concert. That's why this song has such a smooth, dreamy feel to it.
thanks for letting me know that !
Garance A Drosehn and antidepressants
Joey Reacts watch The wall movie it will help you understand the album
@@CrownFamilyHQ yes you should listen to the whole The Wall album...the songs tell a story and it will make total sense....
Thank you for bringing back all these bands!! I hope you continue to explore into the beautiful world of classic rock! Pink Floyd is one of my favorite bands and Im glad you are bring it back into the light of the newer generation! Keep up the great reviews!
Yess!! Just stumbled on your channel and cheers for you digging in. Sooo good!! New sub for sure!! Thank you! This music will always give me chills.
The movie of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” is really well done and is an artwork in its own right. The album can certainly stand on its own but it wouldn’t hurt adding the visuals to your understanding of the piece.
Also, Roger Water’s lyrics are absolutely brilliant (...”Did you exchange, a walk on part in a war, for a lead role in a cage”...).
Man this music was meant to listened to in the dark in stereo as loud as possible with a big fat doobie that's the only way to truly appreciate it you gotta try it man
Tiffany Helms ...
Definitely a gettin Stoned song!!!! Everytime I hear it, I wanna light one up...
Ahhhh, the good ol days! LOL
All their music requires a big doobie. Then you go somewhere incredible.
Tiffany Helms just one dub surely not didn't you me 6
plnkfloydian what are you a priest
I've experienced Pink Floyd both ways, and must say it's fantastic either way. A "big doobie" isn't needed.
I just found your channel, I'm digging it watching someone have their eyes opened to this amazing music keep it up fam, I'll keep watching
Thank you for your honesty and openness.
Omg stero! Not mono! This is serious! 😜
Absotutely! Also, when you get a chance, listen for the depth of meaning that "The Floyd's" songs contain in the lyrics. Peace.
And he needs speakers too! For more info about the reason why, please read my reply to Codex7777!
Listen to Shine On Your Crazy Diamond
Love your reaction to one of my favorite songs. Thanks for sharing.
I stumbled onto your channel and cannot stop watching you listen to one of the best bands ever! Thank you for an entertaining evening!
Pink floyd welcome to the machine
That song really spooked me as a kid. Now it seems kind of overblown and silly, even if I still enjoy it.
The piano work on Comfortably Numb was nothing short of brilliant.... The vocals by Gilmore and Waters is amazing.
bigtoad45 yes, the subtle call and response between the two is chilling
Love this! Reminds me of my first reactions when listening to this album. It just reaches out into your soul with the guitar solos and grabs you and you become it.
When i hear this I close my eyes to try to get the feeling from me laying on the floor at the planetarium looking up at the lazer light show as the 2nd tab hits. What a feeling!!!
Just a suggestion, but you DO NOT listen to Pink Floyd with just one ear. Sorry, triggered.
Totally agree! You need to smoke a fat banger, go to bed with the lights out and have the headphones on full blast. Heaven itself couldn't even measure up to that 😃
lol triggered !
Same !
That's FUNNY
James Wilson, I totally agree Mr James..
'Floyd' best name for a dog too!
THAT SOLO!!!!
You need to listen to these songs with head phones using both ears & you'll really hear the difference. That's the experience & then you'll get it.
just found your channel, man. I could spend all day watching you discover all my favorite music that I grew up with. Its so rare to get a fresh perspective on that kind of thing, you know?
Listen to Dark Side Of The Moon from start to finish, headphones, phone switched OFF, lights on low, make sure nobody comes to your door. It's about 48 minutes but you have to do it all in one go, nonstop. You cannot truly appreciate Pink Floyd until you do this. I can see from your reaction to Comfortably Numb (from The Wall) that you like prog music, and regardless of the age of that album, it is THE masterpiece. Dark Side Of The Moon changed music forever. Do it, it will change you, in a good way. Google other British prog music, you won't regret it.
I would suggest doing the same with Wish You Were Here... as well as The Wall... There is a reason they call these concept albums... you've got to take them in start to finish.
No one that does this ever regrets it! Life changer moment. At least it changes how you listen.
I pick out every subtilty, every vocal delivery and implication, every instrument choice of the offerings of other artists and think on it in a whole different way because of this album and contemplative listening sessions.
Turn the lights down,Spark up a fat one and enjoy😊
mubbles1066
Right fuckin on
Smokem if you got em
Beautiful experience personally for me.
Someone said “you don’t need drugs to enjoy Pink Floyd, you need Pink Floyd to enjoy drugs....😂😂😂
I loved this song before. seeing your reaction made me appreciate it even more. much love.
You should check out Learning to Fly by Pink Floyd, too. Wish You Were Here is another good one, dedicated to the original lead singer who basically had a psychotic break.
When I was a kid...this was the music I remember...it is soothing and I love Learning to Fly...I used to play it over and over bc I told my dad I thought his voice was beautiful (I was like 5...this was my dads music when I was growing up in the 90s...don't judge!)
Every time I listen to that album I am transported in time to the summer me and my mom took the grayhound bus to Oklahoma to visit my aunt and uncle. The only cassette tape I had and I listened to it there and back. (learning to fly)
Gilmore was the voice of floyd but waters was the wrter
@Richard Stiles Black Hat all the greatest songs were written by roger. Roger was the foundation David was the facade. They brought the best out of each other,a great team but roger was an idiot.
@Richard Stiles Black Hat dont misunderstand, all buildings have a foundation that was roger, what I ment by facade is the rest of the building, most of what you see and hear. David's voice and musical talent are second to none. When my son was learning guitar david is the guy i had him listen to, nobody can bend a note like david.
One of my favorite lead guitarists. David Gilmour. Inspired my style heavily as a player
This is great, Joey. I used to think that I was prejudiced in favor of 60s and 70s music, just because I grew up at that time. Now I know better. My age has nothing to do with it. There is no denying quality. It's as if all the cultural forces in musical history came together in just the right way, at just around that time: The 1960s and 1970s. Thank you for your vid.
It’s cool you’re listening & exploring some incredibly awesome & classic songs
I love how thoughtful you are
One of the two greatest guitar solos of all time in this song.
i believe you!
Maybe in Floyd but no where near all time.
@@flacidhouse350 please
Finish your thought.
True...you need the David Gilmour solos from "Money" and "Time" from "Dark side of the Moon" for the best electric guitar solos of all time. Hendrix was a pioneer, and Santana is a bad ass, but Gilmour has the cleanest shred style ever played.
Try listening to the whole album from the beginning to end once! Pink Floyd is one of few bands that put an album together where the songs just flow together...David Gilmore is an amazing guitarists! ❤
Joey, I love these videos - open minds equal open hearts!!!!
Your my boy and straight up this shit right here is deep. It hit you and you recognize the art. I'll follow you forever so long as you keep the faith.
Pink Floyd is a very trippy vibe! It takes u to another dimension!
You've gained a new sub for your Pink Floyd reactions. Let's see a lot more.
thank you so much!.. im start doing the full album 2mrow
If you decide to do full album reactions, please do the Big 4 Pink Floyd albums in order. "The Dark Side Of The Moon", Wish You Were Here". "Animals", then finally "The Wall". These four are concept albums that tell a story that blends from one song to the next. They were all released in less than 7 years (March 1973 to November 1979), other bands just didn't stand a chance at the time. That said, there are other good Pink Floyd albums that are worth listening to many songs from - "Meddle", "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" and "The Division Bell". Check out guitarist David Gilmour's solo albums as well, you will not be disappointed.
Welcome to the world of truly awesome my friend. So happy that you are appreciating this wonderful music, Like others have said use good headphones or put it on your stereo at home and turn the volume up. I remember buying Dark side of the moon 8 times on vinyl as i wore it out on my deck !!!
You get it. I LOVED watching you get it.
Welcome to the club.
Thanks for sharing that moment.
Joey, try Pink Floyd The Wall album parts 1 & 2 and if you get the chance watch the movie Pink Floyd The Wall and you will understand their musical lyrics better. Thanks for your reactions they are great bro!
yip. the movie will put most of it into perspective
It's weird because you're not getting the full effect without both ear buds in. You need to find a very comfortable chair, kick back with a drink, turn down the lights and just let go.
This is great man. I'm a pretty big Pink Floyd fan, and this takes me back to my first reactions about 20 years ago when I heard them for the first time!!
joey your a great guy thanks for playing this fine music love pink floyd for ever
The album spent 17 years all up in the charts. Now you're seeing why. It spoke when mouths were full of silence.
He actually doesn't see why. He's listening to one channel on an ear bud. The reason Darkside sold so well is because it was the best engineered album of all time. It's the album you put on to show off how great your stereo system was. Since this was the age of vinyl the things would get scratched up. So if you want to really show off your awesome stereo you needed a fresh copy of Darkside.
Flacid House what you're seeing is but a narrow slice of a very larger pie.
No. I've seen a lot of pie.
Then how can you assume the ONLY reason why it sold so well was BECAUSE of its production? How about, I dunno, the SONGWRITING?!!
I never said that was the only reason it sold well. Get your shit together. You look ridiculous.
One of my top favourite songs. Very emotional and fantastic guitar solo
hahatoldyouso you have great taste in music I see
The works of Floyd evolved me and was the ambassador through many stages of my life. Glad to see you were open to it. I laughed with Joy watching it open you. Music fills souls, fills gaps and builds bridges between people. It is really important what you are sharing, please don't stop. :)
Been watching all your NF reaction videos then I came across this, I just subscribed because I love your passion of all music in general. Keep it up
Hi Joey, loved your reactions to this great album!
thank you so much
Dude, how about listening to the song in stereo, your missing out on the proper mix. You need left and right channel.
jack zak I think he would've dozed off or gone to another world then 😁
Quadraphonic is the best way to listen to Pink Floyd.... I have an old Pioneer QX800 4 Channel Stereo, I put on the album and lay in the middle of the room with it turned up to 10.... Halfway.. Best sound of any stereo anywhere, I'd put it against Bose any day... Ask my neighbors..
Mark Coggins didn’t knew it could turn around !! OMG i need to listen again to all the albums... what a pain to discover again PF like the first day ;-)
Get the 30th Anniversary Edition of Dark Side Of The Moon on SACD and get an SACD player... that album sounds insane in 5.1 surround sound!
Yeah Quadraphonic, I saw them on the Div.Bell tour (94), they were playing with the audio at the beginning making sounds turning around us (the crowd)... It was downtown Bordeaux - France, a few meters from the Garonne river... I was 18, one of the best days of my life... (And then an helicopter roars, children playing, and the Teacher screaming... "When we grow up and..." .. sorry I digress...).
Omg I’m loving your channel!
Great video Joey, I really appreciate how you just enjoyed the art. I like your channel.
love this song! Always puts me in a strange mood. My husband wants it played at his funeral
See it performed in the video from their Pulse tour. It's the best.
im watch some live performance right after i finish the "dark side of the moon" album.. thank you for watching !... loving it
Linda L I totally agree, the best ending to this song ever... just mind blowing
Linda you have no soul.
Linda L See it at the Pulse tour, Rose Bowl,1994.
Too late.
Your reaction was spot on!
There are some groups that truly transcend all musical barriers and can reach all people regardless of tastes in genre. I’ve watched your Queen videos and they too are one of these groups. Amazing music is amazing music regardless of who makes it. It’s nice to watch people discover classics. Thank you.
Listening to Pink Floyd with one headphone, and crappy ones at that, is blasphemy.
I love watching you react to songs of my childhood. Just imagining what it's like to hear this song for the first time. I can feel the solo in my soul. I'm losing my hearing, so if any of you out there have any recommendations on songs I should hear before it goes, let me know.
Jerklord maybe go see Australian Pink Floyd cover? They tour a lot and they sound pretty damn close to the old PF vibes :)
2 Albums.
Santana. Caravanserai
Miles Davis. Kind of blue
Jerklord, some suggestions:
ZZ Top. I Need You Tonight; great guitar by Billy Gibbons!
Lonnie Liston Smith. Expansions, Fusion Jazz from about '74
Stanley Clarke. The Dancer. Fusion Jazz, kinda a Ravel repetition thing
Las Palmas Collective. Dreams of Eurydice, a latin fusion/carnival dance tune
BAH Samba feat. Alice Russell. Drifting, latin fusion; great vocals, vibes fills/solo!
Abraxas Pool. entire album. Orig. Santana members except Carlos.
I love to see you react with the same love for this music that I felt at the age of 16 I'm now 61 it puts me back in time. Much love
I am finally subscribing after watching a couple of your other videos
Look out for Mike Oldfield, "Tubular Bells. and Pink Floyd, Greatest Gig In The Sky. Seriously you won't regret it.👍
You are discovering a whole new universe here. Take your time, enjoy it. Pink Floyd is a good starting point for entering the world of progressive rock in general. Bands like Genesis, King Crimson, Yes hold so much fantastic music. Their music may not be so instantly accessible as Pink Floyd, but ultimately very rewarding. You seem to have a natural sensitivity and open mindedness to music, you are on a good path.
