Yo u look lit af
Watch it... soooooooooo good.
Joey Reacts uh oh! Joey is getting emotionally and mentally high! Get it Joey!
Joey....gotta do Run Like Hell....
How good are pink floyd? I just spent nearly half an hour transfixed by watching a guy bob his head to it... That's how good.
EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!
Ahahaha 😂😂😂 perfectly said.
Rickylee369 Entertaining flash back without the relapse. If you think this is a horror movie watch them playing Echoes in Pompei.
At 54, I just 1st heard Echoes at Pompeii a month ago. I listen to it every day now. Great damn song!
The awesome thing is watching people react to something you have listened to since the day it came out. I too love the reactions from people that have never heard these songs. Yes, that is how good Floyd is!!
After Richard's death David refused to ever play echoes again without him since he claimed the song felt like a conversation between the two. One they can never have again. Which is heartbreaking. RIP
He's been gone a decade mate.
Lawrence Johnson September 2008 I believe...
Cyberspace Oddity see-saw was a great song from Richard.
That is heartbreaking 💔😭
My favorite Richard Wright composition is 'Summer 68' from 'Atom Heart Mother'.
Pink Floyd is not a rock band.
Pink Floyd is a state of mind; an experience that changes the way you interpret human existence.
very true!
Best description of PF
Pink Floyd is a genre
It’s hypnotic
Britton, greatly put. ♡
It's difficult to understand why people dislike Echoes
indobleh the length? 😂
The long middle section of ambient noise
They arent really listening to it.
It's not a 3 minute pop song
Yeah that middle part is something else idk , but if you pass it, makes the ending powerful, and the whole song full, it's too much for the average person, but if you can handle it, its a experience that stays with you forever, very very good
I'm a simple man. I see Pink Floyd, I click.
Yeah man true say.
I see P i think INK FLOYD

Joey you don’t know how lucky you are, I wish I could experience these songs for the first time again
But be thankful you already have experienced them, but,I know what you mean!!!
im happy for him and we are lucky to see it happen in real time to someone else.. not joke it has its beauty
Actually even if I've listened to almost every Pink Floyd song/album countless times every time I listen to it I get surprised by how amazing they're music is! So it's always a different experience...
@@rockguitar2547
And if you have multiple systems each time you play it something you forgot about or new pop's out.
Big facts.
My favorite part about this is that when the music changes he doesn't ask "where is this going" but "where are you taking me" Pink Floyd is a journey.
What makes them great is that they stand somewhere outside of time - their music is ageless and every listen reveals another depth of sound that you missed on a previous play. I used to think that they were ahead of their time - wrong - they're apart from time.
It's so true! I listen to music they made 40 years ago like it's from the future & hasn't caught on yet!
Well said ColSandersLives.
I feel like they, stop time
Omg, great statement! So true, so there...💗
Every Floyd fan is holding your hand.
Haha love this. Very true :)
Chur bruh
Joeys enthusiasm is what makes me watch
At 19:10 he says he's getting chills.
That's what good music is supposed to do isn't it?
that is the best comment on youtube👋🏻
This song has my favorite lyric of all time. “Strangers passing in the street, by chance two separate glances meet, and I am you and what I see is me”. Music is so important in the recognition of ourselves in others. It connects us all. I love what you’re doing my dude. Keep it up. 😍❤️
Same.
Alli Mack
Thats true pink floyd were God's
Right on ! I agree with you and on every point . The lyric is genius as it so eliquintly defines the moment of realization when seeing the mirrored reflection of yourself in another
Mistic, Yogi, spiritual man thousands years ago say that the world is an illusion and everybody, everything we see, listen, touch..ecc are part of us. Quantistic say the same thing and when i found the same in the words of the songs of Pink...i blow my mind.
Everything is vibrations...atoms, photons...is energy. Everything is moving in space and in time in a wonderful dance. The music is the sound of that dancing. I'm you and you are me.
Love your "Soul" joy. Watching you reminds me of just how fantastic and unique Pink Floyd is,
Don't bother trying to explain it.. as any floyd fan will say, we know.. there are no words worthy of the feeling.. it's floyd syndrome.. once you have it you'll never be the same again
Facts
So true
You either enter into their world and completely surrender your brain to an out of body experience, or you just don't get Pink Floyd.
Facts
That middle bit is one of the greatest funk/blues breaks ever laid down.
Damn straight
Some great keyboard work in that bit.
I still clearly remember the exact moment I first heard this song and the transition from the solo to the funky part. My mind was blown away. I was studing in the NL, in Utrecht and my italian roomate recommanded Echoes to me.
That is creepy as hell I'll tell you that much.
They did this with 1970 technology, just a mere 48 yeas ago
The analog tape machines and other equipment they used then were not cheap and were well built with the best components and quality ...The studios techniques had been well tested by then and they knew how to get the best out of every session.
Yes and it was released in 4 channels. Y’all don’t know the true majesty of this till you’ve listened to it in surround sound.
Sshhh... that's the year I was born.. you're giving away my age...
David didn't have to shred the guitar. He could/can squeeze every ounce of emotion out of every note he plays. My favorite guitarist ever.
Well stated
There is Pink Floyd, and then there is everyone else.
Pink Floyd is not only "Orchestral" they are "Literary." They tell stories with their music. Of course they have hits and misses like any artist, but in general they hit the mark most of the time..,
If you love Pink Floyd's Great Gig in the Sky then you should also see Katya Shelehova sing Lux Aeterna ua-cam.com/video/UHL3B1TYhJc/v-deo.html
There's us, and there's them
I would add Queen. The 2 best bands ever. 😉
haha I turned a friend on to Pink Floyd years ago any they were blown away. After the album finished they asked "what other bands play music like this?" I said "only Pink floyd does what Pink Floyd does".
when this song ends it leaves you in a vacuum
Hmmm very interesting thought..
I hear that end part the whole time when I'm on a high dose of LSD
Not me. I play the call n response part at the end 7,500 more times.
@@max3eey I can't listen to this song on acid because of the middle part where it starts making all those freaky noises 😂 it's cool on weed but freaks me out on acid.
I saw them do this live in 1972 at Kiel Auditorium center isle, third row, seat 1 and 2... AWESOME... 2 hits of orange sunshine.. PERFECT concert.
Fuck yeah dude. I saw Roger waters live and dropped 3 tabs. 3.5 hour set list. One of the greatest experiences of my entire life. Hands down.
Saw Pink Floyd in 1994 on 10 hits of Jesus Christ and thought I shit myself. Had to have a friend help me check my pants.
Humanity operates in three dimensions. Pink Floyd operates in the fourth, fifth and sixth dimensions, then come back to the third dimension to drop off what they produced there onto us.
Genius
I've spent almost every day this week watching your Pink Floyd journey. Welcome to the machine :)
Deanna McWilliams thanks so much !
Me too.. 🙂👍
May find their 1st album 'The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn' a little different after listening to the later stuff.
More Syd Barrett psychedelic sounding etc.
I love it personally.
Haha me too and eagerly waiting for what tomorrows reaction will bring.
@@jtrem08 It's like getting to experience it for the first time. I love it
Anyone who says “I’m ready” when about to listen to echoes for the first time is not ready
Lol This made me laugh because it's true .
No matter how many times you here this song, you’re never ready
You know what I think: there’s a lot of people saying either overtly or covertly that they’re surprised, but also happy that a black guy self professed “hip hop head” can enjoy “white” music like Floyd. And how it brings us together, and everyone can enjoy good music. And I’d agree with all that - I adore music. Obsessed.
So I’d quite like it if Joey did some recommendations for all the huge Pink Floyd fans commenting here about how they love seeing someone’s mind opened, of what he considers to be quintessential hip hop tracks through the years.
And id quite like everyone who professes to be pleased about watching minds being opened, to get stuck into Joey’s recommendations.
Don’t be a dinosaur who thinks only music from your era is good. You’re wrong.
PS I adore Floyd.
The Pharcyde- passing me by.
I refuse to believe someone who likes Floyd could dislike that!
Got a list of other bands/tracks that are quite Floyd-esque, or in general just just right there in the same niche, soundwise. if you're interested just let me know buddy!
Grandmaster Flash "The Message" springs to mind, not because it's at PF's level of musical composition, but because the lyrics/raps are effing prophetic. There's also a couple of "breakdance" tracks that led into the Age of Hip Hop - Chick Corea's "Elektric City" and Herbie Hancock's "Rockit". (Some have said Herbie invented hip-hop.) Both of them are jazz musicians, and were considered top of the heap in fusion circles.
I grew up listening to this from my parents and listened to rap and hip hop from the neighborhood I grew up in (Acres Homes). So I listen to everything from classic rock, country and some real texas country rap tunes (UGK for life down here in this lone star state). I enjoy music of all eras and genre. To me, being an amateur musician, I believe music is supposed to be transcendent across all race and culture. It doesn't mean that you have to like all styles of music and it doesn't make anyone a racist or bigot if they don't like a specific genre, that is what makes us great is our unique differences. Imagine how boring it would be if we were all the same. Mane!

I am a 53 year old white male and you have restored my faith in humanity. The news if full of stories that are intended to divide the races and seeing your reactions to Pink Floyd is proof that we are all the same. The effect of their music is universal. I subscribed to your channel a couple days ago and have watched most of your reaction videos. I love how you are open to new music and would highly recommend you check out Stevie Ray Vaughan voodoo child live.
Im 41 and with u dan and ive discovered some "new" music through this channel as well...floyd brought me here...ill never forget discovering the catalog of floyd before internet seeking out the boots and roio and to see someone doing all that im a mere week or two is interesting
Much love
Ha ! 56 here and follow for the same reasons. Great comment Dan. Pink Floyd will bring all ages together.
speaking of Jimi Hendrix songs: Machine Gun, anyone? ua-cam.com/video/BRE3kjL3Yjg/v-deo.html :)
I’m a youngling only 50 but, I agree with all of this. Music is universal language. Enjoy different music from all eras. You may not fully enjoy a genre but, you will find a gem in there you do like.
Believe it or not David made those whale sounds with his guitar. First time listening to this I was lying on my bed, at night, no lights on, high af...needless to say it scared the shit out of me.
To me it sounds like sea mammals communicating with each other. The ambient sounds actually sound blue, like the sea. Anyone getting that? It's like a blue water-colour interpretation of the sea in sound. I'm also high af right now. Things sound blue. I'm hungry.
ahahhahahahaha !!! me 2......
Should you enjoy this I suggest: Yes' (Yes, Yes is the band name) album Tales From The Typographical Ocean.
Run a hot bath and enjoy.
Cyberspace Oddity it scared me too. I first heard it stoned in my fathers man cave and I’ve never been the same since lol
The backstory I heard about the wailing is a wah wah pedal was plugged in backwards and the band thought it was awesome
If we would just turn off the news, play some tunes, you'll find we get along alot better than they say we are.
Agreed. Also put Wellbutrin in everyone’s water supply’s in the world . Peace would flow like this PF song for all the have and have nots!
Music brings people together. I was blessed to see them live 4 times. Maybe 5. Blurry period in the 70’s. Lol
J Austin Well, me and my friend got in an argument when he said that Pink Floyd was ass
I never saw them live but i went to a theater one time listened to a Pink Floyd tribute and while they played Dark Side of the Moon they showed Wizard of Oz!!! What a trip that was experiencing that!!
the change at 16.00 is just unreal.. after an interlude witch to me sounded like winds, ocean, seaguls, waves... and some strange pictures in my head... 16.00.. just gave me my sanity back and so so much more, and dig the lyrics.. they actually wanna tell you something
If you've never read 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner' by Coleridge, please read it, and then listen to Echoes again. Don't worry if it doesn't make total sense (it wont) and if the language is a bit hard to 'fathom' - it'll give a different slant to Echoes. I happened to be studying the poem at school, when i first heard the song, and was amazed by the coincidence, and blessing, that brought both of these amazing things into my life at the same time - almost 30 years later, and i'm still finding new things every time i encounter either piece.

Yes but maybe only since I'm subscribed
it recommended another of your videos and i've been jamming with you since. So glad you got into Pink Floyd, this was my teenage years right here bud.
Floyd brought me here. I go where ever there is Floyd. I am a simple man.
Me too. I see "Pink Floyd " and I click
You got it. The journey... They are unlike anything else
Hahaha... I'm listening to PF since I was 13... Around 1989... I have listen to them almost every day since, with even quite a couple of years of listening to DSOTM at least (*) every day.
And now, 42, I spend my time (and I run and I run...) watching again and again floyd tunes "reacted"... I see it's a trend, I suspect a bunch of them are surfing to the PF reaction success (it seems to attract a LOT of Floydians), so I feel a bit bad to be in the sheep movement, BUT it's more than I can handle, I MUST watch those moments :).
Yesterday I might have listen (AGAIN) to Comfortably Numb maybe 4 or 5 times on reactions...
Edit: (*) At least, I mean as an album, I often did the segment Meddle-the wall in one row... Many times a day... :)
Anyway, who is Pink?

That is what Pink Floyd is famous for, the sound effects. They produced all those sounds before computers with analog instruments and equipment in the 1960s. This song is better live.
I think this album came after Wish You Were Here didn't it??? Like early to mid 70s??
Pink Floyd was formed in 1965 and released their first album (Piper at the Gates of Dawn) in 1967. This album (Meddle) came out in 1971, Dark Side in 1973, Wish You Were Here in 1975, Animals in 1977, and The Wall in 1979.

Same, , close to the end of the song the piano and wind, the expression in his eyes was heavy
That's the magic and testimony of this piece.
Someone combined this master piece with the ending of the movie "2001 a space time oddyssey". That combination is just absolutely perfect and truelly mind blowing. It's basically the perfect music video for echoes. Anyone who likes pink floyd should definitely check it out.
Probably Pink Floyd written Echoes watching 2001 A Space Odyssey, Echoes has the same lenght (at second) of Jupiter and Beyond The Infinite (the last part of 2001 ASO), the transitions in the song are perfectly in time with the transitions in the movie. So probably Pink Floyd written the soundtrack of the movie (they asked to Kubrick to compose the soundtrack of the movie, but Kubrick refused, then Kubrick asked to Pink Floyd the permission to use Atom Earth Mother in A Clockwork Orange and they refused).
Anyway, listen to The Sound of Jupiter recorded by NASA while listening to Echoes with 2001 ASO images... it's incredible.
Kubrick asked Floyd to do the soundtrack for 2001 they declined...
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV that's a huge rumor.
Richard Wright and David Gilmours best work, Gilmour refuses to play it without Wright because they were best friends
Yeah and if you listen to it carefully it's almost like Gilmour and Wright are talking to each other with their instruments. It's probably just too painful for Gilmour to do this with someone else that's some intimate shit right there.

It's a pleasure to take this journey with you, it reminds me of my own discovery of their music 40+ years ago. I remember standing in lines to buy their new vinyl on the day it dropped, and the vibe of everyone else there for the same thing, to explore a new Pink Floyd masterpiece. I was lucky enough to see them in stadium concerts four times and the crowds were always taken to another level by the performance.
For many of us from that era, the magic of Pink Floyd has stayed with us for a lifetime. It's awesome to see young people still discovering the gift they gave us, their profound musical genius.
Pink Floyd not only changed my taste in music, it opened my eyes to the world around me. It's a journey that I'm very glad to have taken.
I never got to discover PF, I've been listening to them since I was born (I'm 45). This song & One of These Days used to freak me out when I was little tho lmao

Yes sir, Joey check that out if you enjoyed this version of Echoes.
I haven't heard them all. So I can't offer an opinion
You are a fantastic dude. Thank you for your open mind, heart, and soul.
Joey man Echoes is an actual Pink Floyd historical moment, this is when Pink Floyd found Pink Floyd, this is the moment they found their sound, they found that Floyd attitude and feeling which echoed in their music throughout the years, this was the first foot on the path they had taken, this track is where Pink Floyd showed the world what they could really do and what they intended to do,this was the introduction of a new genre and that genre is called Pink Floyd
Well this would sorta be their rebirth as their first album was very big. But yeah with syd leaving and david replacing him they were rebirthed with this and dark side but yeah spot on dude pink floyd for life
I always imagined the turning of the lp meddle as their change in music. The first side being their older style and echoes being the start of everything that came after
@@thomasleerling oh yeah i can see that
I would disagree with that as Echoes is in a straight line out of what they did on their first albums like Saucerful of Secrets or even Caeful with that Axe Eugene, Astronomy Domine, or Interstellar Overdrive... It is perhaps the perfection of those songs, the ultimate - unless Shine on or
Dogs are prefered. the debate could be endless, but even The Wall just takes previous forms and modifies or completes them (with a particular Roger Waters twist to the sound).
Gilmour replaced Syd as of the second album Saucerful of Secrets, when Syd lost it during production. As to rebirth, they never died and remained popular throughout their career only getting more and more popular with each album. Meddle is in no way a "rebirth" just a continuation of genius! One can argue that Dark Side is the Album that made them commercial superstars, though.
The bridge of Echoes is like being sucked into a Dali painting. It would've broken a lesser man. Great listen, keep it up!
Ozzpot Love the Dali analogy!
The groove that comes in at 8:10 in your video is one of the nastiest grooves ever laid down. Period!!!!!!

You definitely did not make me tear up there. l swear.
Well said, Nemosis. I couldn't agree more.
Joey: some of us do watch your videos primarily for the Floyd, but we ultimately stay for you, so stay genuine, stay hungry.
It's such a treat to share your journey, because in a way, through you we are time-traveling and observing ourselves, reliving our own profound discoveries and just about feeling them again for the first time, which is quite a valuable, impossible feat.
Keep it up. You're a great dude.
Also, any Pink Floyd or Beatles reaction from you would always secure my upvote.
Just saying. :)
The fact that he said journey after a while, he gets it. Perplexed at first but, gave into it. Heaven.
Lorrie Moore When he said "journey" that's the best description of that section I can think of. I remember years ago, USA Network played "Echoes" over the old silent French movie "Voyage to the Moon". I was a teenager and had recently just heard Echoes and was floored.
Your awsome joey, first time i listen to pink floyd, 1971. Im now 63, has been what keeping me going all thies years. Me and my mates would go and sit by a lake in the woods and light a fire and stay all night, listening to this album, stoned off our gourds - just sitting in silence watching the flames and the water. Magical times
That sounds awesome dude
Good people.
I was in Oklahoma sitting around a fire doin the same thing man! The music danced with the flames!........Or did the flames dance to the music?

John Packham thank you ! Will do.. did UA-cam recommend it to you ?
Just make sure you're in the right frame of mind when you watch that shit, if you know what I mean. Best to get the full intended effect ;)
Was just link hoppin. Recently watched rodger waters (Bass player of floyd) life at Glastonbury festival and seen your link. Been watchin you buzzin all afternoon man... Great stuff... I've been brought up with them (46 now) and always loved them. Controversially my favourite is "The Division Bell". Listened to it in headphones staring out the window of an overnight train it Thailand and it just fit the trip perfectly. Not sure if you've covered that album yet. Will have a look now, but if you haven't please do. I'd love to see what you think.

Agreed, good call
I just watched your life change. Thank you for the privilege! Don't forget to always check Floyd's lyrics. They are a tour de force in that regard, too!
When I've heard Echoes for the very firsr time my reaction was yours... unforgettable!
That middle part gives me chills!! Its like something out of the Shining!!! And that music is creepier than the movie itself!!!
pink floyd would have never been pink floyd without the keyboard player Richard Wright. He WAS the atmosphere. He created the sandbox the other three played in.
WonderfulWino ~ I disagree. I think they were perfectly married.
Rick was the canvas the others painted on. With Rick, you really didn't hear the keyboards, you heard the music.
The wind noise in the middle is created by rubbing a slide over the bass strings feeding it into 2 - Binson Echorec 2 delay units. The seagull screams are from plugging a Stratocaster into a wah pedal backwards ( guitar into OUTPUT, INPUT to Binson delay. pedal cocked in heel position, guitar Volume knob at 10, pickup up selector in middle+bridge position, turning the tone knob to 10 gives you the scream sound, rolling it back down to 0, slowly, provides the laughing effect.)
YESSS, another one who knows their Floyd!! Peace!
Thats what you call art, a ginius in music way before all them sound pedals
And you have to love the way that some of the sounds on this song (Rick's "ping" and Gilmour's "seagull") were discovered completely by accident. Well, I know the seagull sound was a complete accident, but I don't know if Rick intended to send his keyboard through a Leslie speaker for the ping, or whether that was a mistake too.
But here's the thing - they didn't go, "Oh no, that sounds terrible - plug it into the right thing" - they said, "Fuck, that sounds good - let's use that!"
Everyone's reaction to David Gilmour's guitar is the same; like damn. You just can't help it. He's a stratospherically gifted soul bender.
I just heard this song for the first time this year 2019 I’m 22. I’m glad it came sooner than later
This has always been my FAVORITE Floyd song.
"Here we go."
Yes.
I'm in love with watching Pink Floyd change your life! Most life affirming thing I've seen this year.
Pink Floyd are not only musiciens, they are Magiciens! The music, the lyrics, the pictures, everything , even in shows, they are fantastic.
The middle part of this song is like being shot out of a gun in slow motion into a deep space , leaving your body , right with then lyrics come back in is like u get sucked by in.
Thank you for doing the full 23 minute song as one! Now please do Pigs on the Wing / Dogs. Pigs on the Wing is only 1:30, so combine them.
thejovihead: I totally agree with you. "Pigs On The Wing Parts 1 & 2 are only 2:48 combined, so I'd recommend that Joey combines them both together, and plays them AFTER "Dogs", "Pigs (Three Different Ones)" and "Sheep". There is a video on UA-cam that has already has them combined. ua-cam.com/video/rMBI9aApoik/v-deo.html
Animals Side 1. Then Animals Side 2. The way an original vinyl album should be listened to.
Oh yes absolutely do Animals side 1!
there is a bootleg of a version that didn't make it to the final recording which was part 1 & 2 combined and in the middle between them an amazing solo played by Snowy white.
@@afojgel afaik that version was included on the 8-track release of Animals. I do recall getting my hands on a bootleg that contained it.
"Pink Floyd is my favorite band of all time" Qouth the Joey. Welcome Home Brother.
The Album Cover Is a Ear, under water.
With circles simbolising soundwaves :D
When roger waters inspired phantom of the opera
Man watching your falling in love with pink floyd, have made me listen more to pink floyd than i have done in a long while. I even started my old record player up again to put on some of the old vinyl on. I guess that i sort of joined you on your journey. :-))
Thomas.E. Jensen
l feel you. I've been transported to my days of 90 minit casettes, and having two decks.
I kind of miss the tape hiss.
Yeah, you can count me in. I too dug out animals n dark side from the dust covered collection and enjoyed another Floyd experience.
12:25 "where you taking me?" 😂we going to mars boi💀
Dominique Gonzalez yes ! 🤣
Dominique Gonzalez No, we're taking a journey through the ear.
The song echoes is about the minoan people who lived in pompei that perished when mount Vesuvious in the gulf of naples erupted killing all the people in Pompei. The super volcano that erupted literally turn the inhabitants to ash, and began the 'Dark Ages'.
Roger Water's bassline I think portrays the volcanic ash plumming fron the volcano. David Gilmour's guitar solo potrays the voices as well as the tsunami that engulfed the shores of pompei. Truly a historical piece of art!
19:32 his system went into meltdown, as it also happened to me the first time I heard Echoes. The song was perfection to that point, then they exceeded perfection. How is this possible?!?
No one else has such a unique and identifiable guitar sound as David Gilmore. Rarely does it take more than 3 notes before you know it's him.
Gilmour.
Tom Morello would be close, also Mark Knopfler. But, I'd also rate David Gilmour #1.
Takes only 1 note to recognize Richard Wright
"Meddle" is the album Pink Floyd really found the sound that made them ONE OF A KIND.
Pink Floyd was always one of a kind. Even back in 65-68. I think they found their sound in 1969-70, been listening to some old ass live recordings and they sound epic as hell, much more blues than the studio recordings.
@Joey Reacts - I envy you - you're experiencing for the first time the genius that is Pink Floyd and hearing this masterpiece in all its glory all the way through. A lot of Floyd's music is so moving that it brings me to tears! Surely any music that does that is very very special indeed!
I like the fact that you give the song a real chance bro. I notice that you let the music take hold of you, then take you on a journey. To me, that is what music is all about ( the journey ).
The reaction at 19:40 is priceless. Poor Joey is gonna die from pure joy.
erick rosito If he gets this into some of the riffs here, just wait until he hears some of the solos that come out of Animals.
@@RIGHTNOW108 The last solo and transition into the main lick in Dogs is one of the greatest music moments ever!
Gustav Häggendal Agreed
N:OW I know, he is in for so many mind blowing moments as we all once were when we first heard Floyd
That's his 'O' face!
As is the case with most Pink Floyd albums you really don’t get the full effect unless she listen to it start to finish. Especially when it comes to the album “The Wall”.
And The final cut
Paul Jones the Final Cut should not be listened to at all.
I do disagree but I give you that it's their darkest album of them all.
the wall is nowhere near to early floyd stuff...
This is so great, Joey Da Prince - thanks for being so open to exposing yourself to new music! I was guilty of that for many years - there's so much great art out there if you're open to it. This is my favorite PF song and to see someone reacting to it as a new experience is fantastic. Keep doing what you're doing, man 🖖🏻
I feel like I'm hearing this for the first time watching you. Thanks
Hi Joey. Thanks for this reaction. And you are so, so right. It's brilliant. There are no words to discribe Echoes !!!!
Your right on point with how PF impacts the soul. Probably took me the same amount of time to announce PF is my fav all time band and that was 15 years ago and that nomination hasn't changed.
You are a cool ass dude. I'm a musician of 25 years and I completely agree... not only with your assessment of Floyd, but of music in general.
For me this song holds a dear place in my heart. When I was first listening to this when I was younger I always though that when the scary( not really) part came and then I hear the reassuring sonar sound at the end of it, it was like whew I made it! I think I’m not the only one that gets that feeling
Pink floyd are the biggest creative geniuses of all time! I love watching your appreciation for them, you great! Do ‘in the flesh’ you’ll love it!
Riccardo Matteini Well I mean that’s just down to personal opinion really haha 😊 I wasn’t stating it as a fact haha just to me personally.
Yes!!! That song is great.
"THE BIGGEST!"
"uh its just personal opinion"
pffffff
you WERE stating it as a fact, its the same when people say AMERICA IS THE GREATEST and then it turns out.. it isnt
cant we stop that?
It's the best I've heard.
That wind sound and the bird noises are all made on the guitar. Gilmour's a freaking genius.
Watch Pink Floyd at Pompeii. You can see Gilmour stroking the strings with a cylindrical metallic object of some sort, to make that sound.
@@thomaseliason8376 that sound was actually made by plugging a wah pedal backwards
the sound of the crows was tape archived. but he really is
The wind sound is coming from waters bass guitar. The "wind" crescendo, created by Waters using a guitar slide on his bass strings and sending the signal through a Binson Echorec.
Mystery solved. Gilmour is making the other sounds through his guitar.
And you're right about Gilmour plugging the pedal in bavkwards. They did so many things out of experimentation .
@@chriscook5613 fuck off, for real? Wow!
Great song but the live version at Pompeii in 1972 is the superior version
Disagree.
Agreed
Disagree
Live at Gdansk is also an incredible version.
No way
From my favourite Pink Floyd album
That song - "Echoes" takes you through an emotional journey
Pleasing to the soul. Joey’s favorite band of all time! Welcome aboard.
That's probably the best description I've read of them 👍🏻
You know what they say - Once you go Floyd, you can never go back! Welcome, my son. Welcome to the Machine! Have you done Learning to Fly yet?
I cry quite often when I listen to Pink Floyd, not from sadness, their songs really evoke something very deep inside you. Unique and special
15:55 16:15 19:35
Yes, your reaction is right !
pink floyd is absolutely genius!
listening to Pink Floyd makes my spirit tingle and sends my imagination into overdrive !
I love watching your Pink Floyd journey!! They were the first band to touch my soul and I love them just as much today as I ever have. Thanks for sharing...makes me smile.
watching you listen to this piece of art, reminded me of the first time i put this side of the record on for the first time... some ten years ago i think... Your reaction is so true and real. Echoes still sends shivers down my spine every time i hear it
I like how he says it's like listening to a film. When they literally wrote this to go along with the ending scenes of 2001: A Space Odyssey
The only way I can describe Echoes is it takes you to a far away land, completely melts your brain, then plops you back into reality safe and sound. It reminds me of the end of 2001 A Space Odyssey. It blows the mind that they did all of this with the technology they had at the time. The crescendo at the end is my favorite part. Echoes Live in Pompeii is also awesome, as well as David Gilmour Live in Gdansk.
You probably already know this, but the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey syncs up perfectly with Echoes.
I kinda wanna see you do a compilation reaction of the entirety of “The Wall”. It’s full of SUPER good music, but also has loads of really weird stuff that I’m sure will warrant a reaction!
the movie or the album?
kenmystro the album
Too long lol
matthew gallaway he did it! Lol
The movie also is full of weird shit, maybe more than just the album.
Pink Floyds One of these Days is a must listen ^_^
That song, this song and Fearless are the best tracks on this album.
I think its quite interesting that a guy can get that many hits and all these subscribers by listening to Pink Floyd because he is a Rapper. And yes, Pink Floyd are genius and create pure art. I've known this since 1973 when I first heard "Echoes". This is my all time favorite song...if there is such a thing.
