What should Agamemnon have done here though?
Serious question.
He's got the fleet gathered and he can't turn back now. The gods are angry with him.
He can't fight them or slay them. Yet he HAS to contend with artemis now, and that can't be avoided.
If he tries to turn back he dishonors all of Greece and is probably assassinated. The repercussions of that are chaotic and hard to discern.
What does the king do?

No thanks. I finished Aeschylus' The Persians and have started The Oresteia which I have not read since college. I prefer to read it myself rather than get a summary.

I love the Oresteia 🤍. Last month I read Elektra by Jennifer Saint and I loved the different point of views of this story.
