  • Very few octane boosters actually work. However, for the few that do deliver on their claims, there are risks in using these products. This video briefly explains the similarities and more importantly the differences out there between competing octane boosters.

    Incorrect. Boostane as well leaves orange residue.

      Watch the video and he says that in the beginning. The orange does nothing. It is the same as having a little black build up like a regular car dumbass. The difference is boostane doesn’t get that shit concentrated on the end of the plug like octanium or torco.. you don’t and won’t foul plugs or anything liek that with boostane. After 10 tanks of octane boosters of boostane pull the plugs and you will see orange but the top looks perfect. Do the same with competitors and you will want to change your plugs as the whole end is built up and gross and the car is already probably not working correctly or idling. Our dyno shop uses it all the time and we have cars with 80k miles using boostane and they run perfect still

    should I be concerned that boostane is why my Check Engine light came on stead on my 4000 miles Porsche 992 (911) that I am running "shots" in every 16 gallon fill up? Does it have an effect on the O2 Sensor?

    • @thegrmcrckr488
      @thegrmcrckr488 3 роки тому +1

      Probably because of the manganese and magnesium buildup on your O2 sensors. I would not use anything that causes a buildup like that. Pull your O2 sensor and see the reddish residue that boosters leave behind. Take the residue off and feel how gritty it is. That is not good for your cylinders and will cause significant amounts of wear.

      100% it is not causing this. It doesn’t build up like competitors. We run it in our brand new Mclaren lol.. they are known to have the most sensitive sensors and computer in the world lol..

    People seem to think an octane booster will give their standard engine more power. I use octane booster because my high compression sprint engine wont run properly on pump fuel, it knocks so bad it sounds like the big end is on it's way out. Octane booster lets me rev it right out with no knocking. The tin alloy catalyst blocks do absolutely nothing though.

    • @xGR1MxREAPERx
      @xGR1MxREAPERx 5 місяців тому

      Exactly.. this stuff is only
      Made for engines that have high compression and are tuned to run 95+ octane. Or for cars with variable/adaptive timing. Lots of fords use this. Mustangs are the most popular on. Mustangs can add 8-10 degrees of timing from 91/93 octane to 97-99 octane. Gen 3 mustangs agave crazy high compression ratios and love high octane fuel as they can use it to add timing and not knock. Stock they get knock and lower timing and then it stays there

  • @monstergreen6728
    @monstergreen6728 3 роки тому +4

    Thoughts? I've used too much octane booster with MMT in it and it turned all of my plugs orange? I'm assuming the top of the pistons and the bottom of the valves too, all orange. Let me know if I can just run premium unleaded here in CA and will this shit all burn off?? Or did I harm my motor??

    • @thegrmcrckr488
      @thegrmcrckr488 3 роки тому +1

      That is manganese and magnesium and if you flake it off your plugs and it feels gritty, what do you think it does to your cylinder walls? Yes your whole combustion chamber is now contaminated with grit. Just stop using it and let it clean up or use a product without magnesium and manganese to increase octane. I've had people tell me that the grit is a different compound and won't hurt your cylinders. I told them that I don't care what it is, if I can flake it off and it is gritty, then I don't want it in my cylinders. (But it is manganese and magnesium)

      Wrong.. using regular gas causes black Build up.. boostane it’s orange ish. Peel either off and they feel the same. This guy telling you this is an idiot. It’s like adding a ceretec like product in your oil. It costs everything in similar chemicals. Use the right amount. Once a year run a tank of 110 if your scared and that will burn off some of the orange on anything. It will cause an excessive yellowish orange color also though afterwards. Everything that burns has a residue.. race gas is yellow or orange, regular gas is black, e95 is yellowish also. Boostane is orange.

    I've been researching octane boosters. I am in a no corn zone and I always thought "that aisle" of the auto store was nonsense, but then read some positive reviews of a couple of products on Subie groups.... but performance Subies aren't exactly known to be long living cars, especially when you start to push them, so I don't think they are the best source of valid info on the long term effects.
    Now I read about MMT and fouled this and that.
    Just curious: what part of the snake are these suspension emulsifier chemicals made from?

    The video mentioned that some of the additives settles at the bottom so I'm wondering you put this in your tank repeatedly, eventually over time that sediments builds up and if you run your car close to empty on occasion, it'll just suck up that crap and coat your plugs. So if you do use this stuff, maybe don't let it run below 1/8 - 1/4 tank and maybe flushing out your fuel tank from time to time would prevent this from occurring? I"m no expert just thought this might be a potential reason and would like to get other's opinion.

      dustingaldeano it does clog catalytic converter, my exhaust broke off so i had to replace it and that’s when i realize that it was plugged. However it only plugged the holes close to the outer, the core of the catalytic converter was not plugged at all. But weirdly when I touched the holes where it was plugged and smeared it I noticed that I plugged more holes just by doing that.

      This doesn’t do anything to o2 sensors. Plugs it cuts the life in half same as running race gas or e85.. 15-20k change plugs vs most are 30-35k To change plugs stock. 100 octane creates the same orange residue.. race fuel has MMT in it lol.. unless your using a shitty leaded race fuel and if you are that uses lead of course which coats the plugs in silver instead of orange. Pull a plug on an engine running 116 and look how weird the plugs look. They are bronze or orange
