Eggs baby. Perfect amino acid profile and highest bioavailable protein. Not to mention all the nutrients in the yolk.
Eggs aren't healthy, safe or a good source of protein. The egg industry has been caught making these false claims over and over again, and every time the courts and the science say they are false claims.
Also check out what happens to male baby chicken. That's the industry that 99% of consumers support if they buy eggs...
I eat six a day!
Same I eat a lot of farm eggs I can't get enough to keep me happy.
Not a fan of the linoleic acid omega 6's in the yolks
I eat atleast 15 a day.
This is why I eat a cup of 4% cottage cheese and a full scoop of Pure Whey before bed. I sleep like a baby and helping me recover nicely. Plus it tastes great together.
Love me some cottage cheese. Can mix it with nearly anything. So versatile.
I'm going to try this . I love plain greek yogurt and hate what it tastes like when mixed with protein powder. Next experiment, cottage cheese and protein powder.
It’s so stupid that they sell low fat cottage cheese.
@@natalieroy4849I love plain yogurt and choc protein powder
@@markmarcinik5818 or you can choose to not eat it and let others make their own choices?
A whey protein shake (with milk, yogurt & kefir) and few meat balls sounds like a great after workout and before bed time snack! 💪😊
That's what I do
Sounds amazing!!
Thank you for your information.
And now I know my choice of brunch today of a chia pudding using whey protein powder and a keifer along side a slice of super thin bread as toast with a air fryer omelette that included brisket, tomato, and home made kimchi was a really good choice. I did 1 oz of keifer, 1 scoop protein powder, 1 tbsp chia, and the omelette had 5 eggs, 5 oz brisket id slow cooked then shredded, and 1 oz each of home made red cabbage kimchi and some heirloom tomato. Total carbs for the meal just over 14 g net, my total net limit is currently just under 30. So liking the fact I now know how good of a option that may have been. Btw, the brisket had no fat removed so was pretty fatty. Though any I cooked off went in jars as a cooking fat for later and the broth is being stored/reused too.
Great info, & looking forward to the one on casein, cottage cheese, & hopefully other natural sources
Never ending new deepenings in exercise and best foods - THANK YOU for your actions !
Great advice
Hey Thomas, I love your videos. Can you recommend a good amino acid supplement?
Great video. I wonder how eggs and chicken pairs to beef? Would love a video on that!
Hey Tom. Love your content but was hoping you could do something on pickling/fermenting foods and which are the best.
Sorry I fell off my keto about a year ago. So I'm trying to get back on, so please keep preaching Thomas.❤
I fell off after exactly one year sorta as a test. If you’re trying to build muscle for me I found it first hand much easier! I still boycott sugar and carefully place carbs around my workouts. It’s been a wild ride!
@@Boostisablast same with me. Keto was unsustainable for me. Just too much added fat which ended making my foods unpalatable for me. I also don't eat anything with added sugar and I have dramatically reduced my carbs down to a reasonable level.

What’s with the carbphobia guys? I’ve got 85% or more of my calories from carbs for over ten years now. I reversed my insulin dependant diabetes and take zero meds - low fat high carb does wonders for insulin sensitivity.
I’m slim despite eating as much as I want every single day(I weighed around 30lb more when eating low(ish) carb, my blood work is perfect and most importantly my energy levels and focus are off the charts. 60 next birthday but more productive and happy than I was when I was half this age.
These supplement selling grifters love promoting low carb because essentially it makes you feel like shit so they can sell you bogus supplements.

is raw milk best for building muscle?
Thomas can you do 1 full day of eating what we should eat cause i cant keep up
Would you recommend supplementing 5 grams leucine along with beef/eggs for extra muscle growth? I just started
Best thing I have discovered is using whole milk with my whey powder post workout
Thomas, how do you feel these days about using pea protein (from Sunwarrior) vs whey after workouts?
He has a whey sponsor and a pea protein sponsor, so he likes them both. LOL. Pea Protein gives similar results to Whey in studies with respect to strength and hypertrophy. Whey may beat Pea slightly.
@@jackbuaer3828No it doesn’t. You’d have to take twice as much and even then you’d have to add rice protein to get a somewhat similar amino acid profile.
@@m.b.593 You're incorrect based at least upon the parameters below.. A study looking at the effects of either whey or pea protein supplementation found no difference between groups in strength, power, CrossFit performance, lean body mass, and body composition after 8-weeks of training. Of note, the average protein consumption was approximately the same at 1.8 and 1.7 grams of protein per kilogram bodyweight for the whey and pea protein groups, respectively. In other words, the protein dose was pretty high and overcame any apparent differences in EAA content or bioavailability.
The Effects of Whey vs. Pea Protein on Physical Adaptations Following 8-Weeks of High-Intensity Functional Training (HIFT): A Pilot Study. Sports (Basel). 2019
@@m.b.593 This additional study also suggests that you're incorrect.
Babault et al. took 161 individuals and separated them into three groups: placebo, whey, or pea protein. Each group was instructed to take 25 g of protein (or placebo) twice per day in addition to training 3x/week for 12 weeks. Both protein supplementation groups outperformed the placebo group for strength and hypertrophy, however there were no significant differences between pea and whey protein supplements.

@@jackbuaer3828I agree with you, not with the guy you responded to and they deleted their comment. I’m considerably stronger with animal protein not plant based.
What if you just drink pure Leucin drink with a meal, any thoughts on that. Before and after workout.
I put beef & raw eggs in my post workout whey shake. 😎
I’m holding onto my raw dairy (as opposed to a stricter carnivore) because I love it. As an older person, I especially want to grow more muscle and strength. Ultimately that will lead to more fat-burning.
But in the short-term, raw dairy -the way I’ve been doing it-is maintaining my weight, and I need to lose about 30 pounds.
I don’t like to mix milk and meat; it’s not aesthetically pleasing. I have 2 C raw milk kefir, 1 C raw milk, and 1-1/2 scoops Tree of Life whey isolate, vanilla flavor, sweetened only with stevia. That (plus sometimes 20 or so raspberries) is breakfast, around 10:00 am before my 12:00 noon workout, 3x/week. Other days I might have eggs with butter.
AFTER workout I can get any of the following: frittata (eggs + bacon bits, red pimiento and cheese), 2 or 4 strips bacon, sliced avocado, and/or grass-fed beef patty, at my health club’s cafe.
Today I had Asian tuna salad w/2 strips bacon, but I was still hungry, so I came back for a beef patty and 2 more pieces of bacon. After that, I don’t have much appetite for supper.
For a 73-yo woman, I’m quite proud of my arms. But I really want to develop more muscle in place of fat, because, as a singer, I require a certain amount of bulk to retain a big rich sound.
I feel like carnivore might work better for that, but I develop an aversion to nothing but meat and eggs. Dear Thomas, any thoughts? Is what I am doing adequate for increasing lean muscle? I work with a trainer 2x/wk, plus once on my own, followed by some treadmill and sauna. After sauna I have that second meal. Once the weather warms up, I usually add some swimming in the outdoor pool, and some sun.
Love your advice on eating for body building/ crossfit. There’s not a box near me, but my trainer and I do some of the same exercises as crossfit uses. I am determined to be a strong old lady, not a frail one.
The thing about ground beef is that it comes with collagen.
Now i don’t regret buying Syntha-6 bc of the flavor lol

What about pork versus beef?
What about Whey isolate plus butter?
Gross.
! ? ! * Question: I'm mostly vegetarian, light and small framed, eat fish and chicken about once a week (and also take Omega-3 Caps daily). Although I'm retired - and somewhat restricted in the amount of weigh bearing exercise I can do - I need to, at least, attempt to maintain my 'remaining' muscle. I understand pea protein doesn't cut-it, due to having an incomplete amino-acid profile. I'm trying to identify a 'well rounded' protein-rich 'supplement (or 'mix') for my described circumstances and 'muscle-maintenance' need. Given my advanced years (and that 'modest' objective) would the Milk Protein 'option' mentioned in your video, likely, be the right choice for my situation? I guess I could, instead, just drink ''milk', plus 'add-in' a complementary protein supplement for a 'rounder' balance? Or perhaps I should be looking out for a more exotic protein 'mix' that blends several sources of protein + creatine, rather than focussing predominately on milk / milk-protein supplements? Thanks for your video, and for any reply you've got time to make.
i've always mixed my whey with milk instead of water, and i eat some beef and carbs same time
I wonder what bean protein would do to the body vs beef vs dairy?
He did a video on pea.
I'm confused. One video you said whey protein spikes blood sugar and should be used only on occasion. Help!
Slightly tangential but is there a difference in protein bioavailability between beef that has been cooked long and slow and beef that’s been cooked say medium rare for a just few minutes?
What’s the difference?
I accidentally discovered (because I was out of nutpod creamer) that adding vanilla whey powder to my decaf is delicious and that's basically the only way I drink coffee (decaf) now. Whatever protein I am having in the morning (eggs, salmon, ground beef, left over chicken from the night before) I am closing it off with my "dessert" of decaf + vanilla whey. Let me tell ya something, I can eat LOL Buuuuuuuut, with that combo, I am happy go lucky until 2pm. My stomach lets me know it's 2 pm without fail, but if I didn't pack a meal and can't eat right at 2pm, I then eat an elephant at 4pm. From 2 to 4 I am aware I could eat, but I am not famished or anything. I am really trying to cut everything off at 5pm, but it is proving challenging because of the family of 5 dynamics with crazy schedules all around. However, I really can't have a big dinner or what most people would consider a normal dinner. Like my body literally will not let me. I am exploring a mini veggie feast. Yes a mini veggie feast does exist and it is yum.
I remember you made an Instagram post talking about a study that claimed lean pork had the most effective protein absorption in the body. I imagine it’s still virtually the same as beef and milk. Personally I think all three are great 💪🏼
Sponsored by the meat industry.
@@InquisitorEuro Cope.
I find that meeeting a min. of 20-25 grams per meal on a three meal a day plan and the in between meals as well can get you up to 100 grams of protein in a day. You will have to do your own math in some notes to track it. If you weigh 200 lbs? Double up on the grams per meal and see where it takes you per gram to lb body weight. Happy synthesis
What about yogurt though?
Yes greek yogurt and plant is really clean and good. But unfortunately is a small portion. So you need a variable balance of bigger amounts of those kinds of proteins to make them work. But it is cleaner.
Too much sugar and not very much protein 🙏🏻
@m.b. No....The sugars get broken down by the bacteria in yogurt...
@@vagabondcaleb8915 do u read the ingredients in yogurt? a lot chemical ingredients.

Hi all , i have been carnivore for around 6 months and love it! The only problem i started urinating 3-4 times during a night for the last 3 weeks ? Anyone knows why and is that normal ? I would appreciate if anyone has the same issue and how long does it last! Thank you 🙏
It may be due to your body dumping oxalates which are in a lot of "plant" foods like spinach, chocolate, nuts (especially almonds)

Grass fed grass finished Steak. Eggs free range. Whey. Sardines, wild caught. Maybe some cream and coconut oil. Vitamin D, methylated B vitamins, creatine, magnesium, maybe some fiber. That should do it.

Whey or milk protein got confused at the end?
Haha this is literally what 10 YEARS ago proposed dr Jim Stoppani and since then he formulated the Pro JYM Protein. Whey / Casein / Milk :)
What about Bone Broth & Collegen Powder protien ??
Excellent choices!
Flavcity protein powder is a gamechanger. Better than a milkshake. Swear
Milk protein isolate is a thing.
What about Milk with Beef?

Or better still. A beef smoothie with whey yogurt and blueberries. We call it a beefie . Just can be a bit rough on the blender
Gravy Frosted Flakes. They're grrreat!
Both are best together with eggs.
Whey protein can be bad for people with allergies. It makes me feel tired. What is the next best protein drink?
Allergies to what? Look at what else is in there. if you mean to lactose, whey isolate should not.
I have a whey allergy too, and I wish channels like this would talk about best protein drink options to whey. Personally, I think the best one is egg protein. Whole egg is best, but very few companies sell it. One tip I saw it recently, is you can buy organic, pasteurized egg whites. You can get 32oz for around $6. That 32oz container has 100 grams of protein. All you have to do is add a little chocolate syrup, and you have your own protein shake. And do not worry about cholesterol, it is completely false that eating cholesterol contribute to high cholesterol.

This is why I use MuscleMilk after workouts. 50 grams plus 6 grams leucine and Omega3.
Are milk products like cream, yoghurt, kefir and cheeses not going to be better value than these supplements? Surely there is a limit on how much protein you should be having each day unless you feel you need to be Mr Atlas, which I reckon is a big minority.
He recommends a gram per lb of body weight per day and more will not harm you. Also, the reason one would have more whey instead of actual milk foods is like he said, you get too much unnecessary carbs and milk sugars. Cow cheeses are not the best protein source.
@@poophandle I never said that extra proteins would harm you, just that they were unnecessary if you already have enough in your diet. If you eat a diet rich in red meat you will not need extra protein but you can get even more with dairy, if you can tolerate it. Many cheeses are 25% protein and very low in carbs.
The most important thing I learned here is that Thomas potentially eats rats.
Just like Bruno.

Fish and eggs among veggie sources for me but everyone's different. I use to eat Beef myself but stopped for many reasons although I have nothing against those who still enjoy it. Thanks for another informative video.
So essentially you are saying that post-workout cheese is optimal 🐭
Eggs they are the best.
Dr Jym Said this 10 plus years ago
Pollock needs more research, but a few weird studies show it outperforms everything at building muscle and even without stimulus!
Why don't whole eggs factor into any of these discussions? They supposedly have crazy anabolic effects and "perfect" protein.
I think he just compared milk vs beef today.
No belittling of eggs. Probably for another day.
@@advex4428 Could be! I'll be interested to hear what he has to say about it if it does come up.
Here are the key takeaways from Thomas DeLauer's analysis of beef versus milk protein for building muscle:
1. **Nutritional Value of Beef**: Beef is not only a good source of protein but also rich in essential micronutrients like B vitamins and zinc, which are beneficial for overall health and muscle function.
2. **Rapid Absorption of Beef Protein**: Studies indicate that beef protein absorbs more rapidly than milk protein, which can be beneficial for immediate muscle repair and growth post-exercise.
3. **Milk Protein for Sustained Synthesis**: Milk protein, particularly when broken down into its components (whey and casein), provides a quick spike in muscle protein synthesis thanks to whey, with a sustained release due to casein. This makes it particularly effective over longer periods.
4. **Leucine Content**: Milk protein tends to increase leucine levels more effectively than beef. Since leucine is critical for muscle protein synthesis, milk protein might offer a slight edge in promoting muscle growth and strength immediately following consumption.
5. **Importance of Protein Timing**: Consuming protein (especially types rich in leucine like whey) around workout times is crucial for maximizing muscle protein synthesis. Both pre- and post-workout protein intake is important, but the overall daily intake is what truly contributes to muscle gains.
6. **Combining Protein Types**: Strategically combining fast-absorbing whey protein with slower-digesting casein and beef protein can optimize both immediate and long-term muscle protein synthesis, providing a balanced approach to muscle recovery and growth.
7. **High Protein Intake Efficiency**: The body can efficiently process and utilize large amounts of protein (up to 100 grams in one sitting), according to recent studies, which can help in planning meal frequencies and sizes particularly in relation to workout schedules.

Very first protein that came for bodybuilding was egg protien then whey protein comes in market and now meat protein 😢 the way this is encouraging by people on social media, animals are in more danger!
