Remote play works pretty damn amazing on my laptop via wifi (both the console and laptop are on wifi) in my garage, not even full signal. I played Guardians of the Galaxy and it felt like I was just playing natively....but on a small 1080p screen. It feels much better than ps4 remote play, mainly because of performance mode in most games, rather than 30fps on ps4.
I agree with this comment. Remote play works flawlessly with a solid Wifi and or Ethernet connection. I'm streaming PS5 games over wifi to my hardwired PS4 and it plays perfectly. Very little input lag and I can play online games with a small addition to ping. With both consoles on Ethernet there is zero difference from sitting in front of the console vs streaming. It's simple technology, so of course it works well. I don't know what others are experiencing but I can almost guarantee it's user error.
I did this about 2 weeks ago on vacation. I was in the next state on a motorcycle trip in Hot Springs, AR and after a day of riding my motorcycle on back roads and in the national parks I would go back to the hotel and relax after dinner and drink some bourbon and play PS5 on my laptop with HDMI to the 50" tv with my PS5 controller. Worked good enough with a little lag but was good enough to finish off a long day on vacation.

Wait do you need your controller for this to work because I like using the touchscreen controls
No You can play without the controller
Ok thx
every time i try to connect it searches the wifi for connections and doesn’t work
On phone in remote app try to change the settings of data.
So upset I didn’t do this before leaving the house this morning! Could have played ffxiv while at work. Face palm.
Wow straight to the point. Thanks a lot 😀
I appreciate this video save packing space 💯
So does the PS5 have to stay in rest mode while you're away?
amazing tutorial. thanks a lot man you rock...
So I’m wondering I share my ps5 with my dad and if I turn it off on rest mode go to school and my dad goes on plays will it still keep me in remote play? And also when it’s in rest mode when I’m in remote play will the tv be on while I’m away like school or something?
For some reason it doesn’t work for me I’m on a separate network “ not cellular data” and it still won’t work it gives me an error I followed the video perfectly
Same for me that's stupid 😱😭
So you don’t literally use your second device as the remote?
Hi big fan
Really great vid. But surprised i don't see a Portal review on your channel.
But you have to be connected to the same internet on both devices 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
