You’ve done a better job at explaining this than Sony have. Great video!
Thank you 🙂 👍
Sony's communication skills are non existent
I think Sony did just fine. My reason for watching the video was to see how responsive the remote play was. I’ve only ever really done it in my own home LAN as opposed to remotely.
it's pretty simple to do really. 😌👍
Right!!!
This was my dream when I was younger being able to play on my phone while on vacation. I’m older now so I don’t have that much time but it’s so cool that they made this work really good and cellular support is the best
Same I would have loved this as a kid
You deserve much more respect, love, likes and subscribers, this is the second time you helped me and showed me amazing work, thank you so much 😊
Im currently in Thailand, remote playing diablo4 from my PS5 in Norway. Works like a charm.
Any lag issues on D4? That’s exactly what I was going to do 👍
@@jasonkennedy2045 i use 4/5g and hotel wifi. A few lags here an there. Sometimes as clean as playing in my livingroom. Can still do NM dungeons 13 levels higher, so i would say it works fine!
@@Kakataeh awesome, thanks mate, appreciate the info 👍
Wait. How?! I've been trying to connect my PS5 since the begininng and it always show internet connection errors. On a 100MBPS connection. Note: my account is on the US store.
Are you using a US account or Thai one?
getting ready for our spain holiday .. and this was just an awesome simple demonstration of how to play remotely - my thank you !!
wow.. kudos to you, you really nailed it by explaining thoroughly. I can now do the same and enjoy playing my PS5 remotely.. cheers!
This was AWESOME!! Thank you. Was looking to buy Sony Handheld but this resolves that issue beautifully!! Knew this was an option, but thought it would be complicated. You made it very easy
I’m so happy I decided to re-look up about the PS five remote play because your video popped up I looked at another guys video I said everything up but he half explained how to do it. I did it his way, and as soon as I left the house, my tablet cut off from connectivity, he mentioned nothing about what you just mentioned, so thank you so much for this video
I've waited for this video and grateful for it 👍
Thank you for explaining it easily and straight to the point.
Wonderful guide! I've been using remote play on my Steam Deck but will try it with an iPad now. This was smoother than I expected it to be with minimal lag.
There’s an official app on Steam store?
@@mattm381 not that I know of. I used Chiaki4deck. Bit of a manual install but it works well enough 🙂
Thanks for explaining the process so adequately! 👍🏻 gr8 job mate
This is the best practical tutorial i’ve ever seen. Thank u!
You're very welcome!
Great video mate, this is probably my favorite, so much effort. Well done
Thank you very much 🙂
This is the only video I seen explaining steps by steps on how to set this up fully…. Thank you so much….im definitely subscribing
That u also addicted to fitness like me too but never forgot the need in u makes this video ten times more enjoyable for me
Greetings from Germany 😊
I feel like this is a very underrated feature.
In-home/private cloud gaming has a lot of applications. Imagine your high-end PC with video cards that can now pull 400+W on their own in another room. Your PC is a mini inefficient space heater, so putting it in another room would be clutch for the heat/noise.
dude playing game via remote play is almost unplayable.. lag is real.. atleast in my case
@@kill3rbyysight u need a better connection
@@kill3rbyysightbuy better Internet
If you're that close you should just run a cable instead. Less latency and higher bandwidth limits.
@@CasualPlyr wat shud b minimum download & upload??
No one ever talks about this back home, and now you sold me on buying a tablet just for this.
Great explanation, demonstration and just not being boring!
Thanks so much super helpful
maybe the ps portal would be a better choice
@@coolerkater1991 steam deck/rog ally
For sure, the ps portal is better and maybe cheaper than an Apple tablet
This is an amazing feature that I never knew existed. I just got my PS5 slim a couple of weeks ago and I’ve tried out remote play and it’s fantastic.
Best and most simplest explanation video made. Thank you!
If only internet connections were this stable and fast everywhere. If tried playing that in my free time at university here in Germany and it was stuttering all over the place until it eventually just stopped working entirely. A great thing for the future for sure though especially since not only internet connections but also the screens on tablet are getting significantly better. Apple is rumored to switch to OLED in the iPads in around 2026-2027 if I remember correctly! 🙌
In Japan this is great.
Samsung uses oled in almost all tablets already... Apple is very late to the party...
Exactly. It works fine for like 3min then it lags so bad it’s unplayable or just cuts off or freezes up
@dinisfreixo Apple are still re-inventing it lmao 😂
The day before UA-cam recommended your video, I was wondering how I could play PS5 on another monitor without having to move the whole console. A day later your video came up, and I was like "wow". Thank you so much for sharing this information.
lol same happened to me yesterday evening was thinking about it :D
Put on the tinfoil hat, guys, they can hear our thoughts now ;D
Mate, what an awesome vlog. Thought this would be laggy and rubbish and it really wasn’t. Top job, thanks 👍😎
fantastic video addressed a lot of my queries i had in my head!
That's really cool 😁I hope you had a good trip.
The part in Spain was actually recommended in October of last year.
Thought I'd hold off the video until the summer season when many people travel.
I’ve used this in many scenarios already. The main problem will always be the button delay, it makes multiplayer games impossible to play. But for indie games or more relaxed/single player games it can be fun.
why would you even consider multiplayer games for over the internet + over internet, its basic sense.
Im playing fortnite but for some reason my sensitivity feels so fast and uncontrollable I can’t even edit anymore im using remote play with a good enough wifi connection however I can’t find a fix for the problem
@@lebronstoe yeah playing any online shooter is out of the question. It’s simply not feasible, like the other guy who replied to my original comment said. But it’s still useful, for instance, for the new Spider-Man 2 that just came out. Single player experience that doesn’t rely on ping.
Works fine for me. Tested on Fortnite and Fifa. Performance heavily depends on your Wifi router quality/settings.
@@vogopmwhich router would you recommend
Nice vid gonna test this out with Destiny 2 on a Samsung tablet, just tried it out works great you just saved me bringing my ps5 on holiday much more space in my luggage now💪🤙
The best explanation ever can do, love it
Superb video Paul. Not yet got the pennies together for a PS5 yet but now i think i will definitely need few more to buy a new tablet as well. Haha. Completely unaware that the PS5 had this function. Hope you're doing well anyway mate. Your videos are always spot on, straight talking, no nonsense and easy to follow. Top marks my man. Take it easy Paul, keep up the good work!! M.
If you've got a ps4 you can do it on that as well.
Works on a laptop mate!
It can even work on your Mobile phone, why spend the extra dough
Just FYI for everyone.. you need really good internet for most games. Other than that. It works amazingly
Thank you for the video. Great instructions will definitely be trying this soon!
It plays so smooth!!
You must also take in consideration of what internet connection you have. I have the same setup but my connection lags BIG TIME. It will start out fine to the point it freezes sometimes.
Can you go in to any detail about what internet you had for this (ping etc)? I can only imagine it working this well with full fibre end to end.
Thanks mate finally got ps5 controller to work on iPad , works great❤
I was playing ps5 in the UK from dubai a year ago, ps remote play is amazing
Yay!
Make sure you turn auto HDMI switching off too, as if you're on holiday it will turb your TV on haha
This is awesome man. Kudos for being so cool with fam!
Really impressive! Can't wait for the PS Portal any longer!
Nice work as always Paul! The only caveat is remote play caps out at 1080 i believe. Still pretty awesome tho!
On a screen so small, 1080p is enough
4K phones don't exist anymore (NO, Xperia One phones do NOT have 4K displays whatsoever).
Very few people have a 4K laptop.
Most people have either 1080p phones and laptops or 1440p phones.
1080p is more than enough for remote play.
True enough, why waste bandwidth to stream 4k image when chances are your mobile device display isn't 4k? I do wonder if the stream carries over the hdr metadata though.
Since its only streaming, FHD is perfectly enough.
Dad goals.. even though my daughter isn’t old enough to date.. good job Dad ❤
a thousand likes... this is awesome, I had wondered how good this could actually be but now I definitely see. Going to have to go get myself a high quality tablet and a backbone for my phone. The GTA will never stop and the productivity at work will be at an all time LOW. THANKS!!
I did not know about that! Thank you so much for this content!
Just for a bit of extra info, it’s best to use Ethernet to connect your PlayStation to your modem/router rather than wifi on that side of things and if you use 4G or 5G to connect to the PlayStation when you’re away from home then I found I was using up to 7Gb of data per hour which can chew up data allowances in no time so if you have a decent wifi connection away from home that’s definitely the best way to go rather than using cellular data.
Well I’ve just tested it and I can’t connect to my PlayStation using 4g
@@lukeskywalker2778 when you open the PS Remote Play app, before tapping on your console to connect to it, tap the settings wheel at the top right of the screen and ensure you have allowed mobile data
I have unlimited data with no speed limits so I’m fine
@@Bane1Mirin I haven’t seen unlimited data plans here in Australia so that would be nice. I bought a ROG Ally so I could install games rather than stream but if I had unlimited data I would’ve stuck to my iPad Pro and Dual Sense controller instead.
@@mrqikgix ahh I see I’m originally from France but staying in London Uk I got unlimited data is a game changer for me as where I live the Wi-Fi is bad I hotspot my ps5 with 5g from my phone get a perfect connection and good download speeds I really do advise getting an unlimited data plan that is truly unlimited as some plans limit your speed at 50gb threshold
This is really good, thank you! It means with the project Q console, we can play PS5 games within a "WiFi area". Also, it means we don't need a project Q console to play this way. 🤣
Thing with project q is you have to be connected to the same WiFi your ps5 is connected to
Project Q ISN'T a console whatsoever.
@@Brev-fr1eb then what’s the point of it. They better have some special features like zero latency or no one will buy it
What a great video. Almost spent money on a ps portal and realize I already have everything that I need right now. Thank you so much for sharing this info.
My mate send me this video, I guess he was impressed with the technology. I am quite familiar with remote play, however I stayed for the awesome mix of good prober protein intake, brilliant showcasing and explanation 😅👏👏
I use remoteplay on my iPad Pro all the time. Works great, but wouldn’t use it for competitive fps games.
Is there a input delay from your ps5 controller during remote play?
@@Proplee there’s always a tiny (unnoticeable input lag) but when you take into account that your ps5 has to upload the data. Then your iPad has to download that data process the data and input from the controller on the iPad. Then send it back to the Ps5. It all adds up.
@DamadaTattoo thank you! I have tried playing just phone games with a ps4 controller via Bluetooth and there is a huge input. So hearing your insight on the remote play helps.
@@DamadaTattoo Welp im still gonna try Doom Eternal on it
I seriously thought you can only remote play on a local connection ONLY (means that the remote device and the PS5 are on the same network).
Apparently I am wrong
Yup lol you have been able to do this since the PS3. It was the Xbox one that could only remote play on the local network until the end of 2019
Living your best life! Good on you man.
Cheers buddy
I can't believe you actually flew to Spain for this video. Well done. Thank you for the video.
This is really GREAT!
Its a SHAME Sony does not use this to create cloud gaming just like Microsoft did.
Cool stuff. The only downside is rest mode. We're now learning that these new consoles the PS5 and Series X will all die as they use SSD's. SSD's last between 5 to 10yrs, and because people use rest mode it's wearing down and killing the SSD's within half the time as rest mode puts constant wear on the SSD's. A lot of Series X's are now starting to die just 2 and half years after launch because people use rest mode all the time. And so far the Series X can't be repaired due to the way Microsoft designed the console. The PS5 can be repaired. So if you want your new console to last as long as possible power it off after use and avoid rest modes and quick resume modes. 👍
@@Vsprivate It is true. The Cod3r and other technicians have confirmed it. instead of calling bull just look it up and see for yourself.
Actually rest mode on the ps5 is the same as the ps4. They both have an ARM chip which does all the work in rest mode and the drives are completely turned off as well as other components. And the only things that have power is the network and USB ports if you turn the USB ports on in rest mode.
You really need to check your facts. Because it's not in rest mode it is quick resume that can kill the drive and the ps5 doesn't use quick resume
This is brilliant, I am over in Milton Keynes for work training this week and regretted bringing my ps5. Now I’m gonna prepare this for next time and bring my iPad with me! Thank you for explaining this feature, whole lot better than Sony does
No worries mate 🙂
Thank you sir! Great tutorial. I appreciate this.
👍 thanks for showing us how good this works!
Amazing, I just purchased the new Ipad Pro M4, I was considering also getting that PS remote player since its only $200usd but now that i've seen this, there is no way I would ever need that. Thanks for uploading this awesome vid!
Omg this is mind blowing... thank u big man
As a frequent traveler for work. I use to do this with the PS4. I got fed up with the lag, stuttering etc.. I started hauling my PS4 with me instead. Great concept. But only if you at your home network or on at least 200mb or more of internet speed connection. Too bad the PS5 is so dam bulky and heavy. That is staying permanently on my AV stand.
Shocked that’s the phrase! Wonderful how technology has reached. Good explanation and thanks.
Thanks for explaining! That’s really a cool feature.
A trip abroad in the name of science! I like it! Enjoy, my friend 👊🏽
Brilliant! Possibly the best tutorial I’ve ever seen.
Thanks for the info mate!!
Great video Paul! Love the channel and this one will definitely help me out 💪
Great guide - thanks dude.
Nice I thought you needed to be on the same network thanks for explaining
Absolutely brilliant ❤
the best review, very detailed and important notes too
Thanks so much I wasn't even aware u could this and i was only in the UK back at the beginning of July.
Glad I discovered this before going to Punta Cana. Mind you the net there wasnt very good but it still worked out in the end
You are amazing brother thanks so much
great vid man, thank you
This was very well explained. Thank you 🍻
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very clever tech Paul! 👍
thats what i call a clear explanation
your video was the best full detail as other videos didn't explain the rest mode 👌🏼
Yeah that is pretty cool. Good for the kids if they want to play...
Great video and important for me for next chapter
That’s awesome thank you.
On a 1-week trip right now and I just found out you can do this. I am bummed!!! Thank you for this video though!
Thank you so so much for the video Imma try this'!!!
Thanks for the easy guideline ... Getting ready for travels and looking to play a bit of GOW remotely
Nice!!! About time, ps5, I do this all the time on Xbox with my Samsung tab s8 now to try this with my ps5 thanks for the video
This is awesome and also very helpful as I work away doing fly in and fly out so I can legit take my setup away with me without taking the ps5
Very helpful thank you
That is pretty amazing👏👏👏
This one of a kind video 💯
That's awesome catching a flight to Spain to remote Ur ps5 from your villa to Ur house in the UK
Thank you Giant Sir
You’re awesome!! Thanks for the tutorial. Really great job!
No worries 🙂👍
You explained this so well, you got a new follower + liked the video
This is wild - haven't played consoles since the xbox360 but looking into them now in preparation for getting a PS5 Pro for GTA6 maybe next year - saw this remote play stuff and my mind has been blown.
Very helpful video, thanks!
You're welcome!
Great explanation. Thank you very much!!
No problem 😊
Thank you so much for this tutorial!!!!!!!! I'm actually travelling to New York for a week on vacation next month and I was hoping to find an option to play my ps5 games on my laptop. The only downside is that I have to keep the cord connected to the laptop...which really isn't that big of an issue.
How was the experience
Great job
Thanks man 🌺🌺
Wow you have done a great job 😮🔥😌🙌
