Thank you, to the guys who are Periphery. I'm 43 years old and have been totally captivated by the talent pool Metal gives birth to since I was 12 years old.( Jake E. Lee is still one of my heroes. heehee) I have found my new favorite band. Thanks guys, From the bottom of my heart, this beautiful, crushing music truly makes my insane life, in this insane world, so much more worth waking up for in the morning. Peace to you.
C-Sac, thank you for sharing that. I understand what you mean, some music just does that to us; some music makes everything worth it. That's what I love about music in general, it's timeless. I hope this comment finds you well, 5 years later, but I'm just now finding this band, and I'm really pissed off that they I had to wait until now (I'm 41) to find Periphery's music. About a month ago, the UA-cam algorithm told me I might like this band and their music . . . . . it was correct! 🙂🐧🎶🎵
im pretty sure it ties into the story of the song. the easiest way to explain it is kinda like how soul mates work, two souls from one, who mirror each other and the name of the song clearly conveys it with the lyrics "all this may never seem, floow the light... 12:42 on has to be one of my favorite parts in any piece of music. It's sort of hauntingly beautiful, with the beautiful clean guitar playing a happy yet somber chord progression. I'm not exactly sure how to describe it, but it catches my emotions off-guard and once the vocals come in, my emotions burst. Eh, I can't really describe it well, it's just music communicating well.
All the clean sections in this song are beautiful, especially the intro. Its special... every time i hear the intro im listening to the rest of the song no matter what!
In this battle for the ages, we two true masterpieces. In this corner, we have the track that defined a band, At a staggering 45 million and 2 pounds, we have the fifteen minutes of Frenzy, The djentlemans journey, The palindrome of Power..... RRRRRRRRACECAR. And in the other corner we have the corner piece of Juggernaut. Weighing in at 45 million pounds. The Beast of Badassery, The Climactic Cataclysm, The true definition of epic, .......OOOOOOOOMEGA. Now keep it a clean fight, boys.
@@sid670 The ssssslithering progressive powerhouse weighing in at 45 million and seven eighths of a pound, the opening act into the jaws of the crusher tearing off skin and scale alike, a myriad of Stans were hailed in the making of RRRREPTIIIIIIIILE!
Just perfection, an absolute masterpiece, this song totally just seals the "favourite band" mark. Btw, don't shit on me cause I spelled "favorite" with a "u", hush I'm Canadian.
I know right ? This is one of those badass songs where you wish that it last forever and now I have my wish ! Periphery is lit ! God I wish we have a Modern Rock Radio Station that has the balls to play metal ! Would love to hear Periphery on the radio !
This song is just full of juicy, constantly changing my pants kinds of riffs. Well I've gone and soiled myself again. And that solo made me shit myself as well.
Periphery released a ton of songs this long in PV, but I still enjoy Racecar more than any one of them. It has more of a cohesive structure and feels more fresh to me
I personally take influence from this and experience. I'm a drummer so any new type of beat or style of any metal band like this makes me happy to know metal or any other genre trys to make there self sound good naturally
damn you are so cool you really got him there, saying that backwards of Racecar wouldn't work because the back r would be capitalized u r the coolest evar u must have so many friends
Right. I was thinking of Baretto who DID get fired (right?) I've been following bulb for years, but never really figured out why they went through vocalists like crazy. I prefer Baretto over Sotelo, though. So much more "arg arg arg" in his voice.
I like "Light", "Erised" and "Jetpacks was yes 2.0". There was another song whose title I can't remember right now, but gotta check my laptop for it. These songs aren't totally similar, but equally impactful.
This right here is Periphery's magnum opus
+stvn8or yes
Absolutely correct
Given everything after this sucked, yeah
Nope. Now it's Reptile
agreed. this whole album is their best because its all written by Misha (the vast vast majority)

Took me 10+ listens to realize this is the best song ever written and played, but now it's eargasm overloaded :'D
Same here.
11:48 is such a beautiful little section, I love OLD periphery.
Yes!!!
Racecar backwards is racecar. This song is cooler than that, though.
Does that mean this song played backwards sounds the same as it does being played forward?
Reaver692 That would be a bit too hipster even for periphery.

they released quite a lot of long songs in P5... yet I feel none of them have nearly as solid a structure, nor are as original as Racecar.
@@treehann i really like dracul gras and thanks nobuo, but thanks nobuo doesnt really count because of the ending lol
Freedom beyond or control
Partition, they break out in endless stride
I'm on the floor in travail
Faithful days fall
Memories hold
Free my soul
Seeking within
The curtain call
Fleeing our fate
Every step now recalled
Down the drive
Staying so close
Retraction weighs my soul
We are thunder
We are all the space in tow
Now again
This happening
My handle is honest calculation
Free of the pain
Seeking the glow
We both need it so
Time will give way
Time will formulate
Seeking within
The curtain call
Fleeing our fate
Every step recalled
Don't deny
Staying so close
Creation is our call
We haven't lost our sight
These memories ignite
Now have we lost our way
Were taking back all that we know
Discretion, the only thing that made me incomplete
Cast the sail, just to spin this fate
Cross the empty sect in flight
Pleasant memories
Redefined all that's left
The sound it, makes me scream
I can hear your voice at night
(Your light lost in a waking dream within)
Freedom is not of control
Endless the chase, pushing through
I'm so engulfed
Falling to strain, but I still persist
All this will never seem
Follow the light
I'd like to paint this tapestry
With our blood
To represent the symmetry
Following the sickened result of possibility
Refuse the violent source of pain that made you
Left to deny that it will change with no solitude
Let us take this train
Leaving the form, stretching far beyond what I can see
Chasing the race
Left to complete
My revelation
Reaction creates the fall
Realize
These are broken words
Shattered thoughts amend
See beyond the only present road
Just let go
Counsel to ascend
See beyond the only present hold
Let go
Cannot comprehend
Leave it all to find a moment's love
I am
Working to be complete
No more adversity
Growing consciously
My revelation
Reaction creates the fall
Realize
These are broken words
Rising on my own
Sage advice, embrace wisdom
Hang the past
Take the helm
Fashion a new future to live
In your flame
I see regret
I've awakened
To feel a piece of distant past harmony
How could I not see
Possibilities and unlimited passion
Hello luminescent being
Walking outside of my lost identity
Celebrate
For in the end, we'll meet inequality
Seeking within
The curtain call
Fleeing our fate
Every step evolve
I see light
I see light in your eyes
Why isn't this getting any attention?
The Jeff Loomis solo at 10:20 punches me right in the soul. So good.

My favorite part of a Periphery song
WTF 11 years later and this song is still a fucking banger
Seeking whitin... The curtain call.
I miss THIS Periphery, this song is the pinnacle of mathcore of the early 2010's.
11:25 - 12:42 is still the best riff that Periphery has ever written.
11:27 - 11:48 true beauty, indeed.
I like the part just after 11:51 most.
I like the part after 00:00
You're not funny. The joke's dead dude.

Lurch Murphy So glad that got Jeff Loomis to shred a solo on this. The original version is so incomplete without it.
+Lurch Murphy hey nice music taste bro, i saw youre comment in a Persefone video too.
Joohnba I'm all over the place. I'm not stuck to one genre.
+Lurch Murphy it's amazing how a 15-minutes long track feels like 3 minutes because of all the juicy stuff in it :D
What an absolute beast of a track!!!
this is the SICKEST thing
All I know is ..... The drum's note is too difficult to play ...and when the song starts , My head cant stop shaking!
awesome!!
This should be the theme for Gran Turismo
Periphery with race car and bmth’s moon over the castle cover is a great gt duo
15 minutes and 20 seconds of chills and awesomeness. I just can't describe it. This song is a fucking masterpiece.

I love how Sabel's vocals are in here, and he got fired long before Spencer came in and re-recorded the vocals.
I like the whole song but from 12:42 and on is amazing
My favorite Periphery song. Love the opening riff. Sick shit. And the song is just put together masterfully.

12 years later and i still listen to this on the daily
The one dislike was obviously Jeff Gordon who cannot drive to win NASCAR to save his life.
This right here is periphery transformation into a super saiyan and leading into periphery II or ssj2
It is almost time for SSJ 3 (Periphery III) now my friend. \m/ \m/

Thanks! I lost my welcome a few days ago. Good thing you found it!

I'm so glad I got the hear them play this live, and got to meet the whole band after the show.
I gotta say, the first 3 minutes have the coolest groove ever, it always hits
This is the most metal channel name ever
Damn this song is still awesome. Classic.
I just got challenged to do a vocal cover of this
They didn't need to go so hard but I'm glad they did.
"Seeking within the curtain call..."
Goosebumps every fucking time
Indeed, this is an absolutely EPIC track.

Spencer's highest note is in Air Atlantic by Being
Travis Anderson Actually his highest note is in racecar at 4:54 listen to the back vocals and its one little semi tone higher :D
He is right its in this song
Veredika - quit to join the army.
Sabol - quit because he didn't want to tour.
Baretto - fired for being a douche.
I think that's everyone.
