Still my favorite looking ZX-10 generation and one of the best looking sportbikes out there in a world of garish, robotic looking machines, it's more organic. Love the raw feel of these bikes, just picked up an '05 Titanium with 1,300 miles (no that's not a misprint)

A proper head cam gen 1 on mr12 can make 188-190 .. seen if a few times over the years . Gen 3 kit cam 110/108 is key .. I wont share too many secrets for the head specs but they can make jam when done right

I love mine! 155whp up here around 700m above sea level. Didn't buy it for looks, 30k miles on it, loving every second. Street, track, groceries, everything 😂. Not the latest, but she definitely still got it.
We're getting old, boys. I clearly remember picking up my first love at the dealership, an '04 ZX-6RR.
They also had a green '04 ZX-10R, which was immediately offered first. 😳 Good thing my naive, bike virgin self didn't lust after it and settled for the 600.

About time you get the legendary first generation ZX-10R on this channel. You should see the low-mileage (7000 miles) MINT 2005 ZX-10R in my living room. Lots of real carbon fiber, titanium, and aluminum parts. Too bad I cannot post a photograph of it here. 🙄 By the way... the first generation ZX-10R (from the factory) is still the lightest literbike ever manufactured to this day.

My 04 zx10 made 165 @ the rear tire. That thing boogied. It was stock wheelbase and the front and would get light at ungodly speeds. No wonder they were called the widowmaker

1990 was last zx10 i owned loved that bike
I had one ran it @ Willow Springs. Remember coming out of turn 9 laying down rubber sideways. Another time out late night. No one around did a pull & before you know it@180 mph that thing was pulling like a freight train. I have memories of the Widowmaker. Pro racer Earl Rowloff still does track days on one. He's in his 60s blowing past people

I always did like the aestetics of the gen1 ZX-10R. Great looking machines. I also owned a 2006 ZX-6R 636 back in the day, also has similar styling cues. Those were the curvy bodywork days and now everything looks so sharp, creased, and pointed it almost cuts your eyeballs before you touch it with your fingers. 😒

Had one of these Gen 1's head shake so bad it broke my wrist but I kept it up on two wheels! I came around an 18wheeler on the interstate and I'm guessing the bridge transition along with a little cross wind upset the chassis! It was my fault for not installing a stabilizer and it never happened again after the install. It would shimmy just a tiny bit and the stabilizer would do its job every time!

Ah yes, my dream bike in my younger days...I had a 05 ZX636 that I still to this day think its the best looking 600 yet.

Honestly about the same hp sadly. At least that’s what my dyno tuner got out of mine with a full muzzy exhaust. But since then I updated the exhaust to a full Brock’s alien head. Definitely seems more stout.
The car in my picture is zx12 powered. (A1) 2000. A little headwork, 2 exhaust cams and some tuning on Mr. Up against a lighter zx10r powered car, it not even close. The 12 makes so much more tq it's incredible
my old 05 still pumps hard appears to have had some airbox work ,secondaries removed velocity stacks installed front wheel still skipping at 163 mph 😁
had the 05 in a pearl magma red, loved it but allmost got the titanum color to match my 05 636 lol to say the least 5gs for an unmolested 05 zx10r with 10k miles back then was a no brainer
For anyone wanting to know. I have spoke w chris on several different things. This man is a beast. Even if I thought and wanted something. He always there to bring me back to earth lol. Really he is worth the wait to have anything done.

The head shake on Gen 1 10's was scary as hell.. This model definitely needs a good quality stabilizer.

Was getting on fwy w a group. Everyone started racing I got the shakes almost came out the saddle. Had a Scotts within the week
Rotary dampers are an artifact of MX and look dumb on a sportbike, get a decent linear/rod damper most racers prefer (less oil and better adjustability) ‐ Toby or Ohlins
@@fzr1000981 I put a reworked stock Ohlins Damper from the '06/'07 ZX10R on mine with the Harris Mounting Kit... OMG best upgrade I ever done and the damper is hands down GOLDEN

I miss my 04 Widowmaker just like this one. Used to run mine@ Willow Springs raceway. Stock, w the Scott's dampener & my 2Wheelife sticker on the windscreen.( My old superbike club) Back then she put out 158 hp on the Dyno. Also the one guy from THH was giving 650 IB the blues when he first got his H2. Another fun fact you can still catch Earl Rowloff at Willow Springs on a 05. Earl had the most wins@ Willow before Chuck Graves finally beat his record that was there for a long time.
I have a titanium 05 and I LOVE IT. just need to get it dyno tuned bc it afterfires trying to keep it at the speed limit, but once you open it up it’s perfect 🤦♂️

I think it would be really cool to see the 04 dyno graph with a 2020 overlay. Just to see how and where the power is produced instead of just talking peak numbers.

I bought a leftover 05 in the crate. Didn’t put a battery and fuel in till ‘10. Only has 500 miles on it today. Love that bike. But ride my zx11 and 12.

Love the vids!! Keep up the motivation and knowledge. The question on the camera choice. I prefer the GoPro cus i can tell the footage is smoother and sharper. As far as the audio, Sounds good on both in my opinion. But the quality of the GoPro is unmatched unless you start using a more professional camera “too me”.

Bro I bought a 04 zx10r last summer. I bought it from original owner who was 76 years old. It has 40000 Kms.. sorry I’m Canadian so I think that’s about 25000 miles. I love it. She scares me every time I ride it. I can’t get aftermarket parts here.. any suggestions where I can look for exhaust, ecu, etc?

Im from the Netherlands my zx10r 2005 made 170 @ the rear wheel only a Selfmade Slipon nothing else,on Pump gas and no the dyno was noth Optimistic,Europe Bikes are less Restricted

For a Kawasaki. It’s pretty lightweight. Feels like a 600.

Hi hi. I have a 2008 zx6r kawasaki. It has 31 000 miles on it. Bike wasn't really well look after, I would just like to know from 1ste gear standing start no pre launch revs, bike does not have any power from stand still up until it gets to about 8500 revs, bike was recently serviced, can it be, that engin had its days?

I didn’t here no rattling noise during idle like many other UA-cam reviews on this model. I got a zx10r 04 my self n I got this rattle noise n I get rattle taking off on 3rd 4th 5th gear at a stop light. U have any idea what this is? If u able to share ur customers IG or something so I can ask him this question if u not familiar what I said. 😎

Can't say it's like brand new the tank has been repainted it's suppose to say Kawasaki and those stickers are under the clear coat and the R on the tail should be gold.

Hey Chris I think my ECU has been flash I ran my first GENZX 10 down the track and I got a 10.1 as my fastest pass And that’s running a dino jet quick shifter shifting with my foot You can see the run on my channel I messed up every shift point my lunch was off and I still got a 10.1 what’s the average quarter mile for that your model ZX 10

Anybody in the Comments. What would be the Perfect setup 05 zx10r For mountain roads and roll racing. What would you do to the stock 05 zx10r to make it be your perfect setup. List mods plz
Setup would be different for both... Mountain Roads: Steering Damper, R1 or ZX6R Master Cylinder w/ upgraded lines & ZX14R, CBR1000RR, or ZX6R Brake Calipers, Full Exhaust (Akrapovic if you can find 1), Pair Valve Delete and install Block-Offs, remove any weight you can, install ZX6R Dog Bone, upgrade Rear Spring, Filter, Dial in suspension, and Tune/Flash
Roll Racing: Steering Damper, remove anything not needed, lower & strap, Tune/Flash, Filter, Full Exhaust, install Block-Offs, replace the 2 middle Long OEM velocity Stacks with 2 Short OEM velocity Stacks, Ceramic Bearings, play with different sprocket combos, 520 chain conversion, dial suspension in, windscreen upgrade, remove screen from Ram Air Duct and remove divider in the Ram Air Duct Tubes, wrap Air Box and underside of Gas Tank, reroute Crankcase Vent Tube, install Quickshifter, 180/55 Rear Tire *Dunlop Q4 or Michelin Power 5, 120/60 Front Tire, aftermarket wheels if within your budget...
Those are a few basic setups. If you talking about going into the motor, that's subjective to what you're looking for

is the cracking frame really a problem on the 1st gen zx10?
I've has 10 gen 1s, 3 were cracked. If you catch it while crack is on the weld, it's fixable. But once it goes vertical onto the spar it over for the frame.
