Holy year 2000! The intro looks so dated now in 2018 lol I remember I was a junior in high school in 2000 and I was obsessed with this album, such an amazing generation and culture defining band. I’m gonna see them in July in Chicago for their reunion tour. I feel like these last few years 2016, 2017, 2018 have been a reiteration of 96, 97, 98 in so many ways and I’m enjoying it so much :D
They could be a bit hit and miss live but they were really on it there. I agree, how good is Jimmy. A powerhouse up there with Bonham for sure. The Pumpkins were not the Pumpkins without Jimmy, and they're still not the Pumpkins without him now.

That's why it felt weird to older fans. It was a pop album, and Billy knows how to make pop albums sound great. I personally loved Monuments. The Smashing Pumpkins are so much more than just a heavy band, and Billy is capable of more than just headbanging/mosh music. I hope Day for Night is just whatever Billy wants, because that's when he makes the best music. He shouldn't have to go back to his roots for his fans to like the music. He should be able to evolve and move on as an artist. But yes, it would be really interesting for Day for Night to be a heavy album. You know, at least one more heavy one before they move on to more experimental stuff. But if Burnt Orange Black is any indication, I think Day for Night is going to be a lot like Adore.
Jimmy and Billy masters of their craft……. But the biggest applause should be to Melissa!! Focus on the bas playing and she drives this as much as the others!
