I'd give anything to relive the 90s. It was such a magical era. The first time i heard this album, I knew I changed inside. It still influences my music to this day.
Still think it’s one of the most beautiful songs ever written and recorded. Carries so much emotion. It’s definitely my favourite SP song. I saw it performed live in the 90s.
Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, STP, Sublime, etc - so many great bands there wasn’t enough time to listen to all of them.
man I feel transported back to much better times...the 1890s was amazing in Berlin, Freud was finally getting his say and the victorian eras oppression was finally receding....ahh I love the 90s.
They don't do the feedback thing in this song anymore :( I thought that should be integral. I'm not throwing shit, though. Great to see the band playing.
This Tour is 90% about Corgan doing a solid to his bandmates who are likely broke. Corgan is an amaze-balls songwriter (check his Wiki, he writes for many artists), and owns the Publishing rights to all Pumpkins catalog. Publishing gets 50%, and everyone else SPLITS the other 50%. So Corgan gets 62.5% of everything. That's just album sales. Corgan gets 100% of anything song licensing rights (movie soundtracks, etc). James, the Guitarist made the most stink about everything and bassist up and quit over it. Billy Corgan doesn't need this money, trust me. This is him taking care of his bandmates.
Corgan's career has been mostly of no interest to me but for a short while in the early '90s The Pumpkins were one of the best bands in the world and Siamese Dream is still one of the best albums of all time. They could have played any track from it, perfect from start to end.
I never would have guessed this would end up being my favorite song of theirs but it really is fantastic. Hot take though: Down on the Upside is definitely their best album imo and I think it's why I like this song so much; it's like a preview of that album to come
I was 19 when released. Only got to see them 4 times around midwest. Can’t afford where I’d want to be…so not going. I’d be too🥲anyways.❤2 of the 4 I was front/center pit.
As a rock musician I’ve wondered whether the dilemma is you grow too old or the audience becomes increasingly younger. At that point, the only thing that can fill the generation gap is the great music and all else is superfluous.
Wow!... Transported instantly back to a better time. We had all our hair, all our friends, and so few responsibilities. Living in the moment. God, I miss the 90s.
@thedigitalemotion - Yeah…I feel the same when hear this. Both happy & sad. Probably why I have t played it much at home. One of my favorites from them or anyone else regardless
I was 23 years old when Siamese Dream was released. What a time to be young. I was extremely lucky to be young at this great time for music. What a decade. I saw them on this tour and it was one of the best shows of my life. I miss the 90s and get bummed thinking that this chapter of my life is long gone.
