The Google Pixel phones have a call screen option where if somebody calls you from a number that's not in your contacts the Google Assistant will answer it for you and if they don't leave a brief message stating who they are it will tell them that the person you're trying to reach is not available and most times you won't even notice they called unless you look at your call log. It's a beautiful feature that all phones should have and it cuts down on a lot of distraction throughout the day, especially if you're a busy person like myself.
Friends and family were my unwanted scammers, so I just got a new number and didn't bother to give it out, any other calls go straight to voicemail that I never answer😂
Some people are so desperate and needy for attention, they can not miss a call. In my life, if someone can't leave a voice message, their call is not important. With Bluetooth in cars, I will not listen or respond to phone calls or text, unless I expect something important. Some people can't segregate important messages from chatting with their best buddies.
@@ilkkak3065 It is a work phone, so it doesn't matter, and if you do not give out personal information, that is all you need. Some people just get freaked out by a 'voice of authority'.
My answering service message is a recording of the operator saying that the number you have reached is not in service. You need those three tones that play before she speaks. Those tones tell the telemarketer's computer to take the number off of their list and don't waste time calling it. Then, that computer tells other telemarketer's computers not to call that number too. I never get telemarketer's calls.
Block calls from unknown numbers is a great feature. If anyone hides their number when calling you, then call will be blocked. Problem is many marketing companies don't hide the number, so you still end up getting those.
Problem is the spam protection has a habit of labeling numbers that may be important as spam. I get calls from my doctors clinic or schedulers and they use different numbers that do not have ID. I rarely get spam calls so I leave those settings off.
My phone recognizes my doctor - the name comes up and I know to answer or get to the message when I can (I don’t answer my phone while driving unless I know it is a certain friend or two - I then pull over!!!
My phone only gives me an option to "block unknown/ private numbers." My phone is older a Note10 plus. Same with my mom's Flip 5. We don't have the "block spam calls" feature on our phones but thanks for showing us "block unknown/private numbers" feature 😊
Unknown scammers ain't my problem, my problem is friends and relatives who try to scam me. BTW you can register your no. via your carrier provider or Govt. services to remove it from telemarketing list. Worked for me.
Many telemarketers use the government's Do Not Call List as a list of numbers to call, since they know it is a validated list of known valid/working numbers.
News flash. There were work arounds for every option or setting you just showed. Something I've learned in my short 42 years. For every straight as an arrow, nice guy out there trying to help stop crookedness there's someone out there 10 times smarter, 10 times faster and 10 steps ahead in the criminal world. Scammers and hackers had ways around those settings the day before they came to your phone. If you think that's not true your only lying to yourself. Be diligent. Stay ahead, think smart and for God sake if you don't know the number don't answer the damn phone. Scammers need someone to talk to in order to scam them. Ie; no one to talk to no one to scam. Also sometimes the answer is so ridiculously stupid and easy that it's almost unbelievable.
@@elmer528, I've been using Do Not Disturb for years and it's set to only allow contacts to ring through. I got tired of being awakened because at the time I drove mostly at night and when I'm awakened I can't magically get back to sleep. This doesn't work. I still get calls from scammers. I just answer the phone saying I'm the local police department, how may I direct your call? They always hang up.
I usually say "This line is being recorded". Works when a person is on the line, but not with robocalls and computers. Perhaps it will work with computers. I said it to a computer and the call hung up.

Let me put it this way. Scammers will always find a way around all these things hence they are called Scammers. Comrade here is just trying to build his YT income. While I appreciate it, many of these options don't really help in blocking Spammers. Spoofing can't be blocked. What do you say about that Comrade? Spoofing is what is used mostly by Scammers.
I only answer my phone if it’s someone I know or if I recognize the number (which I rarely even remember!). If it’s important and I don’t answer they will leave a message. Many of my calls say “scam risk” which is more reason not to answer!
Robo calls: the computer calls 10 #'s at a time. First one that someone picks up hangs up on the other 9. Imagine it like fishing with 10 poles, cast all ten and the 1st to get a bite you set the hook and play, other 9 are pulled back in, recast later. ☆
When you answer the call, the computer now knows it found a good number and adds your number to it's list of numbers to use and sell to other telemarketers
@@SpynCycle57 What I'm saying is said telemarketers never show up. I don't mind telling a human being no thanks. I hate racing and then no one is there.
