I always ask them "Where are you calling from?" and then they give a random address, which I immediately respond back with "That isn't where I traced your call from, can you please explain that?" Usually freaks them out enough to hang up.
I will remember that. I had to laugh when she gave the scammer the address of the police department. But I usually don't pick up. I wait to see if they leave a voicemail. The only people that do are my insurance company and friends. And my phone tells me scam likely and that helps a lot

I think he was trying to say that he needs only last 4 digit not all 16 digits. As first 12 digits vary with city and bank. These 12 digits can be guessed easily

I think he was trying to say that he needs only last 4 digit not all 16 digits. As first 12 digits vary with city and bank. These 12 digits can be guessed easily
There is a defference between confirming and verifying.
E.g. someone can confirm my age by asking me, how old I am. Or he could verify it, by checking my ID.
