A similar thing happened to me, it's a good thing my phone didn't work. So someone called me and said they were my bank account and that someone had been using my bank account to buy drugs. I logged in and saw that my bank account was untouched. I told them that it looked the same but they kept on saying it was true and I believed them. Luckily I lost the signal and the call was cut off. I called them back but the voice said that the phone number I was calling from had been disconnected. I called my bank and they told me that everything was fine. I didn't realize it was a scam. It's a good thing my phone didn't work right

Feel very sorry for the people who fell for this 😢😢
I almost got scammed for the exact same thing a few years ago and it's all coming from people in the other countries not us
In my early 20's and embarrassed to say I fell for this just last week, also why I got to this video. As much as I wanna say I was gaslighted but at the end of the day, it's on me not updating with the news and lacking in critical thinking. I'm lucky enough to be able to enter college and all but failed to those scammer, I was so mad.
Although I had the instinct of recording any call that seems 'unusual', I didn't realize I was led by the fake cop and voluntarily transferred him a sum to "check if my money really comes from laundering". I came from a culture where our family lives under the same roof and while the scam was going on, mom was asking me why I'm borrowing her money, I declined to let her know as I was a 'suspect' since the fake cop told me it's a confidential case of degree 3 and what not, so that I can't disclose the detail to anyone for the next 72 hours bla bla bla. I don't even know what that is but believe it anyway in the mindset of 'helping the law enforcement doing the justice'.
Now thinking back, I don't even dare to listen to that call's recording because it sounds so stupid; but what I'm afraid of the most is that I will fall for those scammers again 😭 as I have always been so careless and having low situational awareness.
