Several years ago, I got stopped and given a (well deserved) speeding ticket. I didn't tell ANYONE. A day or two later, I received an ad for a radar detector. I had never discussed getting a radar detector and, to this day, I don't know if they are even legal in my state. My phone was on my passenger seat and overheard by conversation with the Highway Patrol officer who gave me the ticket.

I've had four 'smart phones' and returned all of them due to my autism. I can't handle the illogical complications that light up in front of me every day. However, I wanted to say thank you for such plain, concise, accurate, and effective tutorial. It is the best one I've ever seen on the internet! And believe me; I've seen plenty!!!
Case in point: I took family out grocery shopping. Before we left I told daughter I was going to have some fun with her cell phone. On the way to the store I struck up a conversation about getting a swimming pool. Later, when we got home, my wife's smart pad and my daughter's phone both had new ads about companies that install swimming pools. Yes, cell phones do listen in, even when turned off.
If you tell it to others they will say that you are paranoid. I have had this exact [of course not swimming pools] experience with my phones. Whenever I tried telling others they said I am conspiracy theorist.
@@sunchildgaiathere's a demonstration I found on here awhile ago the guy showed several pages with ads and had a sign to show what he was going to be talking about, dog toys, seconds after mentioning dog toys a couple times all of the ads started to show them, so this was a controlled test to prove our phones really do this, you could show them that. Most people are smart enough to know this but I suspect you're talking to the same people who parrot CNN and MSNBC calling everything a conspiracy theory.

It's 'allowed' because this does NOT stop all of google's data collecting. First, Android is a google creation, it OWNS Android just like it owns youtube. So how can anyone really think that google would allow us to disable everything that easily? And second, google is NOT the only one that we have to worry about monitoring us through our phones. Remember everything that Edward S.n.o.w.d.e.n brought out. Android was part of that and it still is. Nothing changed and in fact it is probably worse than ever.

Excellent Video: Step #2 on my Samsung S23+ says Security and Privacy, then go to More Privacy Settings and then tap on Usage & diagnostics at bottom of list. Then, turn switch off by tapping left. Security and Privacy are 5 sections down on settings or 12 buttons down on settings. Make sure you scroll down to More Privacy Settings. The newer phones hide, bury, and put settings farther down so they are harder to find.

Ok, just letting y'all know, the following day after I followed the instructions of this video and turned off the options, today the phone did one of those "updates" and right after that the headphone port stopped working 🤔🤬🤬🤬 my headphones are not broken, I keep trying everything.... Stupid 🤬🤬🤬🤬 hope they burn in h***
They "erased" my comment😡. The day after I turned off these options, my phone did a quick "update" and now my headphones port is making my headphones glitch out and not work. It started immediately after this "update" and my headphones worked just fine right before this. 🤬🤬🤬🤬 I'm gonna try with other headphones and see what will work.

@@tonyv8925 It's not all the steps, but another step is to go into your settings and type in "modify" and click what pops up. It lists all the apps that have permission to modify your settings. You have to go through each one. Then you have to go to the top right, click on the three buttons and choose "show system apps" and turn off all of those as well. This is only one more step you actually have to go through but there are many more and most people can't do this....

Between AI and Deep Fakes it seems the Government can come after anyone they want to especially as computing abilities increase. I was working way out of town, in a logging area with no cell service and I was telling my boss it would be nice if I had a heated vest because I kept getting too hot with my jacket on, and too cold when I took it off. As soon as we got back in the service area, the first thing I saw, was an add for heated vests. Not cool, man. There's no way that was a coincidence.

Telling your phone not to listen to you is just telling your phone not to admit it’s listening to you. They. Never. Stop. My old boss was talking to me about buying a lawn mower from me. Next day his phone had all kinds of adds for that exact brand on his phone. But not on mine. We were talking face to face. Until then, he thought I was paranoid. Not so much now though.
i was trying to recommend a food to a friend. i described it but couldn't remember the name of the company OR the name of the food i bought. he had an add for it half an hour later.
Same thing with home cameras. I was talking about moving to another state, and homes and land for sale in that state immediately showed up on my UA-cam videos

About a year ago, a Hobby Lobby opened in my town. After a month or so, I walked in to check it out - just like every Hobby Lobby I've ever been in. My phone was in my pants pocket. Two guesses what kind of ads I was flooded with for a few days. 1984, here we come!
Considering tailored ads are agreed upon after using many different apps on your phone, one of them asks you to share your location and thus the ads knew you went to a hobby lobby, according to maps using collected geo data from everyone else.
@@gesi7072 I turn all those things off (the options they make us aware of and pretend it does something) and I still see these ads and suggestions. You shouldn't always come in trying to justify these people's actions. They're violating people's privacy in major ways, in ways they never knowingly agreed to. If people wanted to be spied on to this extent, they wouldn't get VPNs. But even VPNs etc don't do anything.

There are things I've thought about that they've shown video suggestions or ads for. UA-cam seems to know exactly when to throw up an ad so I won't skip it. Anytime I get up and ready to go to the kitchen or upstairs for a moment a few seconds later an ad shows up. People who like to have an answer for everything and like making simple dismissals are going to say obvious things like, it's a coincidence or you're only noticing certain things at certain times, no I pay attention to my surroundings and what's going on and when.
This has been going on for years and years now. Could shut it off now, but they already have all of your personal info stored through many more avenues that the cell phone.

I have an android tablet, and I can be having a conversation with my husband like what we feel like eating over the weekend, and I'll get ads specific to the foods we were talking about. When I discussed over my landline with a neighbour, the trees that need to be trimmed in my yard that hang over her roof....I'll then get ads for tree trimming tools from our local hardware stores. I thought I was paranoid and it was a coincidence, but since I rarely believe in coincidence...I now know I'm being heard. Now I put music on in the background on my tv when I'm having conversations with my husband. Samsung is so confused that they give me tampon ads and I haven't needed those for 12 years now. 😂

This one seems more like a coincidence than most of the other stories. Temu is well-known for their aggressive advertising and predatory pricing. Almost everyone I know has a friend or family member who uses it, and that's because of the insane scale of their ad campaign. Turning off targeted ads just means the only advertisers you'll see are the ones who don't care if you'll click.
@@areadenial2343 No it's not a coincidence. None of this stuff is. Why are there always people like you who want to deny reality to feel more comfortable? I've noticed even ads or other recommendations showing depending on what I'm thinking. Don't know if they've found some way to use wifi (which can pass through walls, our bodies and heads) to collect and interpret brain activity.

I had never discussed getting a radar detector and, to this day, I don't know if they are even legal in my state. I've had four 'smart phones' and returned all of them due to my autism. I can't handle the illogical complications that light up in front of me every day.
However, I wanted to say thank you for such plain, concise, accurate, and effective tutorial. It is the best one I've ever seen on the internet! And believe me; I've seen plenty!!!
Case in point: I took family out grocery shopping. Before we left I told daughter I was going to have some fun with her cell phone. On the way to the store I struck up a conversation about getting a swimming pool. Later, when we got home, my wife's smart pad and my daughter's phone both had new ads about companies that install swimming pools. Yes, cell phones do listen in, even when turned off.
If you tell it to others they will say that you are paranoid. I have had this exact [of course not swimming pools] experience with my phones. Whenever I tried telling others they said I am conspiracy theorist.

@@sunchildgaiathere's a demonstration I found on here awhile ago the guy showed several pages with ads and had a sign to show what he was going to be talking about, dog toys, seconds after mentioning dog toys a couple times all of the ads started to show them, so this was a controlled test to prove our phones really do this, you could show them that. Most people are smart enough to know this but I suspect you're talking to the same people who parrot CNN and MSNBC calling everything a conspiracy theory.

It's 'allowed' because this does NOT stop all of google's data collecting. First, Android is a google creation, it OWNS Android just like it owns youtube. So how can anyone really think that google would allow us to disable everything that easily? And second, google is NOT the only one that we have to worry about monitoring us through our phones. Excellent Video: Step #2 on my Samsung S23+ says Security and Privacy, then go to More Privacy Settings and then tap on Usage & diagnostics at bottom of list. Then, turn switch off by tapping left. Security and Privacy are 5 sections down on settings or 12 buttons down on settings. Make sure you scroll down to More Privacy Settings. The newer phones hide, bury, and put settings farther down so they are harder to find.

Ok, just letting y'all know, the following day after I followed the instructions of this video and turned off the options, today the phone did one of those "updates" and right after that the headphone port stopped working 🤔🤬🤬🤬 my headphones are not broken, I keep trying everything.... Stupid 🤬🤬🤬🤬 hope they burn in h***
They "erased" my comment😡. The day after I turned off these options, my phone did a quick "update" and now my headphones port is making my headphones glitch out and not work. It started immediately after this "update" and my headphones worked just fine right before this. 🤬🤬🤬🤬 I'm gonna try with other headphones and see what will work.

Also, when not in use, cover up the camera lens on your cell phone. Even when turned off, they may still be able to access your camera app.
@@tonyv8925 It's not all the steps, but another step is to go into your settings and type in "modify" and click what pops up. It lists all the apps that have permission to modify your settings. You have to go through each one. Then you have to go to the top right, click on the three buttons and choose "show system apps" and turn off all of those as well. This is only one more step you actually have to go through but there are many more and most people can't do this....

Between AI and Deep Fakes it seems the Government can come after anyone they want to especially as computing abilities increase. I was working way out of town, in a logging area with no cell service and I was telling my boss it would be nice if I had a heated vest because I kept getting too hot with my jacket on, and too cold when I took it off. As soon as we got back in the service area, the first thing I saw, was an add for heated vests. Not cool, man. There's no way that was a coincidence.
So even without cell service, it just stores your audio/visual until you get back to an area with service, then sends it to google. Disturbing.

I once heard an Australian pronounce Loughborough as 'Loobarooga' - which admittedly does sound like an Australian place name.
@@drengskap Have a look at one of the other replies to my post, someone has posted a similar word, and google offers to translate it, it translates into "what about the game?" weird.

About a year ago, a Hobby Lobby opened in my town. After a month or so, I walked in to check it out - just like every Hobby Lobby I've ever been in. My phone was in my pants pocket. Two guesses what kind of ads I was flooded with for a few days. 1984, here we come!
Considering tailored ads are agreed upon after using many different apps on your phone, one of them asks you to share your location and thus the ads knew you went to a hobby lobby, according to maps using collected geo data from everyone else.

I turn all those things off (the options they make us aware of and pretend it does something) and I still see these ads and suggestions. You shouldn't always come in trying to justify these people's actions. They're violating people's privacy in major ways, in ways they never knowingly agreed to. If people wanted to be spied on to this extent, they wouldn't get VPNs. But even VPNs etc don't do anything.

Yeah some "tech" people will try to convince us 'they don't listen to you' or aren't even reading our minds already. There are things I've thought about that they've shown video suggestions or ads for. UA-cam seems to know exactly when to throw up an ad so I won't skip it. Anytime I get up and ready to go to the kitchen or upstairs for a moment a few seconds later an ad shows up. People who like to have an answer for everything and like making simple dismissals are going to say obvious things like, it's a coincidence or you're only noticing certain things at certain times, no I pay attention to my surroundings and what's going on and when.
This has been going on for years and years now. Could shut it off now, but they already have all of your personal info stored through many more avenues that the cell phone.

Or live on a mountaintop in Idaho and get completely off the grid. Even that doesn't work, the satellites see you then.

I have an android tablet, and I can be having a conversation with my husband like what we feel like eating over the weekend, and I'll get ads specific to the foods we were talking about. When I discussed over my landline with a neighbour, the trees that need to be trimmed in my yard that hang over her roof....I'll then get ads for tree trimming tools from our local hardware stores. I thought I was paranoid and it was a coincidence, but since I rarely believe in coincidence...I now know I'm being heard. Now I put music on in the background on my tv when I'm having conversations with my husband. Samsung is so confused that they give me tampon ads and I haven't needed those for 12 years now. 😂

My coworker mentioned Temu at work. We stood by a very loud machine. I could not stop getting Temu ads since.
This one seems more like a coincidence than most of the other stories. Temu is well-known for their aggressive advertising and predatory pricing. Almost everyone I know has a friend or family member who uses it, and that's because of the insane scale of their ad campaign. Turning off targeted ads just means the only advertisers you'll see are the ones who don't care if you'll click.

No it's not a coincidence. None of this stuff is. Why are there always people like you who want to deny reality to feel more comfortable? I've noticed even ads or other recommendations showing depending on what I'm thinking. Don't know if they've found some way to use wifi (which can pass through walls, our bodies and heads) to collect and interpret brain activity.
Crazy thing is we had a conversation on the phone a few weeks ago and we used our kids endearment names then got a scam letter addressed to the names. Thanks for the tips

I have noticed on a couple of occasions when having a conversation with someone, advertisements started appearing on that topic, so that was confirmation that Google is ALWAYS listening, and now hopefully I have muted them.
