If Jake was more technically sound in the ring, maybe. His personality and promos carried him to legendary status, but like a lot of wrestlers during his time, the road and the addictions that followed eventually wore him down. Glad he's doing much better now.

Its just disappointing how you want to listen to this man, but you cant believe anything he says. You have no idea how much is actual truth, exaggeration, outright made up, a shred of truth he's spinning, etc. The obvious demons of his childhood are huge reason on top of the era he came up in, both in drugs and protecting the illusion. Hulk is same, Piper was too, just how they were brought up to always exagerate and build up bigger then life. Wrestlers are truly the best trained performers, as they are always having to be on to make you believe, more so that era, just ingrained into their mindset. Look at Cena and Rock today, its just the evolution in how they are constantly watching every word, every syllable, never misspeaking to lose potential fans to spend on them. Rock needs to manipulate every interview, promo, etc, Cena needs to make you believe he is the most reasonable sincere person walking. People who dont follow wrestling dont understand the depth these performers go to project and protect what they want you to believe.

There is a 2 hour compilation video of Arsenio Hall talking to WWF wrestlers, and there is a clip of Hall and Roberts talking, but it didnt look like it was on his set. I just skimmed through the video however.
