Dark Side of the Ring: Unheard - "Kevin Von Erich" - [Podcast - Episode 2]

- Kevin Von Erich sat for Dark Side of the Ring back in Season 1, and in this episode of our podcast, we share his unaired memories of having no time to grieve his brother's death, confronting his dad's opponents as a boy, and our thoughts on the film The Iron Claw.
From the creators of the hit VICE TV show "Dark Side of the Ring" and the co-hosts of The Lapsed Fan wrestling podcast, this is "Dark Side of the Ring: Unheard." This podcast dives into the show’s deep reservoir of unaired interviews with pro wrestling’s most famous and infamous, its least and most heralded, its most honest and of course, its most duplicitous.
Dark Side of the Ring Season 5 premieres Tuesday, March 5 on ViceTV.

If I had the opportunity to shake the hand of one wrestler it would be Kevin Von Erich.
He's a Texas hero, inspirational warrior and a wonderful man.
I feel very lucky you were able to speak to Kevin. Thank you!
Great interview and it adds more to the Season 1 Von Erichs episode for reference. An update would be that Kevin still owns his Kauai property and he and his family purchased a beautiful home, ranch, and a wedding venue business "The Ironwood Bard," in Boerne, TX. I am so proud of this family and their accomplishments. Thanks for continuing the Dark Side of the Ring series on Vice, I can't wait until March for Season 5.
I appreciate the Dark Side of the Ring series very much! Thank you Evan and Jason for all you have done with the series!! Love to hear the back stories good and bad
Kevin is such an amazing man and the faith he and his family have is beautiful
Hearing Kevin talk about Fritz reminds me of how The Jacksons talk about Joe. He allegedly was out of his mind too.
That was Ryan O'Neal
God bless Kevin Von Erich. Such a warrior.
Amazing follow up to the episode. Lots of emotions and it really makes you realize what Kevin has endured.
We need the video version ASAP.
It's available on the archive site. The full episode
Man I love Kevin Von Erich, they say don’t don’t meet your heros cause you’ll be disappointed and I agree 100% but with Kevin it wouldn’t be a disappointment I feel he seems like such a stand up guy!!
Such interesting audio. Second episode, so far so good!
That was dope. The Dark Side of the Ring episode was better than the movie.
Really digging this series!
God bless Texas 🤘
The toughest Von Erich member is the mother. She lost so much but still kept her faith - Amazing Woman! The Von Erich brothers were my absolute favorite wrestlers.
Crazy how all those years Kerry’s secret was never exposed. From police and paramedics who responded to the accident scene to the doctors who treated him and performed surgery. No one ever said a thing to the public. Hats off to them.
Is there a playlist of the whole The Lamentable Tragedy of World Class somewhere in order?
Loved this episode guys. Great work but if I'm correct there's a few seems where Kevin looks let's say medicated or under the influence of say cannabis he did hit a vape in screen
Hearing Jerry Jarrett talk about how Fritz disrespected Kerry and Kevin in front of him was rough. How could of that played out in the movie?
I live in Niagara Falls one mile from the trailer park where the first son passed away.
They did depict part of the press conference with Mike in the movie but not the whole story ..Kevin has said on other documentaries he wanted to play football not wrestle
Football? He was no athlete
Yes he was. Great at track at our high school & he played football but injured his shoulder during a warm up.
What is that music at the beginning? Really trippy and Giorgio Moroder and Coast To Coast vibes
Funny about Fritz and Sissies... As the late Terry Funk would say "Are you a sissy??"🙏
at wrestlemania 7, kerry had a "boot malfunction" in his match with dino bravo. not as bad as the boot coming off, but it did get turned 180 degrees the wrong way.
At which point....I've never noticed
Well I liked the Iron Claw.
First lol
Also this episode was awesome
Kevin sounds like Super Dave
Iron Claw left a lot of holes but was still a good movie. Me personally, I prefer the Dark Side episode more imo
Harp wayy too much on fritz ( virtual signaling really ) and the movie was good
Iron Claw
If you ever find out what made him and his family move back to Texas please let us know.
Vice bastardized this concept. They have "The Darkside of..." Everything now.
The Von Erich curse
There is jo curse
Curse was fritz all along
So, Kevin doesn't actually speak on this podcast? Where's the interview?
This podcast centers around cutting room floor audio from the tv series Dark Side of the Ring. So yes, there are bits of the interview with Kevin from the Von Erich episode that weren’t used in the episode.
Needs more Lacey! Love me some LVE 😊
So much milk!
THE IRON CLAW was nice
Dark side is the only good show Vice has had in years. They should put Evan and Jason in charge of everything
