Of course, there will never be another ELVIS but Austin did an Oscar-winning performance! If you are a fan of the King of Rick ‘n Roll, this movie is a must. I learned a lot of Elvis’s early life! ❤️
I had the pleasure of seeing Elvis live before he died. I was a big-time Beatles fan and all but 19 years old. My boss and friend at the time was a big Elvis fan, he even named his tricked-out truck King Creole on the side. Well, I was ok with seeing him perform I was entirely blown away by his voice, charm, and his all-out effort to build up what I would call a once-in-a-lifetime gig but after I realized that he did this for all his shows! I was mesmerized by the legend who was the man who gave it all every night! Thank You Elvis and RIP who after that day became one of my musical idols!
My grandkids are taking me to see it soon, they know I’m one of his biggest fans😊 Don’t think I’ve truly been able to forgive those who only used Elvis as their meal ticket, ignoring what was happening to him with all the drugs 🤨 But I wanted to comment on your bosses “ tricked out truck”. I miss seeing that these days. Some guys even put their girlfriends name on the back fender, but mostly songs. One that was very popular to see was Earth Angel 😇 great song too. Hope our younger generation will have a chance to love the “ old days” as much as we do our “ old days” 🙏🇺🇸

Went to see the movie, it was really good, I loved the storyline I was really impressed with the movie and also sad Elvis was so talented. Everything that my mom told me about Elvis and his career was true based on how they portrayed history, that was my mom's era and she shared light on his popularity and that Elvis was considered a juvenile delinquent, my mom also told me that Colonial Parker was a concern based on news reports of that time.
My father was a huge Elvis fan and growing up and always told me that colonel Tom Parker was the death of Elvis and after seeing the movie my dad was absolutely correct and as for the movie it was fantastic.
Thanks for the synopsis - saw the movie last night. A great biopic which reminds us just how profound the "Elvis effect" was. Austin Butler puts on a show worthy of his character and has to be close to an Oscar. Tom Hanks takes on a different challenge and delivers, if not to the same level of Butler. Baz Luhrmann - Moulin Rouge was incredible and Elvis is right up there. For Elvis fans (and even non-fans) this is a must-see.
Austin Butler can you please make more movies you will be the next KING I saw this movie 35 times and I plan on seeing it over and over again until you make more movies and Tom hanks was also fantastic I love you guys 🕺🎶🎬💙
Nope he's being criticized by Gen Z who think he's overrated and stole from more talented black artists. Had this movie been released in 2000 it would do better but we're living in a more diverse less white centred world. New generation fans? Hardly. He's just seen as an irrelevant old white dude by many in Gen Z.
I saw the movie. It was good. The actor actually did a great job portraying Elvis. Elvis had a lot of energy and showed it through this movie. I would rate the movie a 10 out of 1-10.
Elvis was quite literally the best movie ive ever seen! Austin Butler was born the play Elvis. Ive seen the movie 5 times in theaters and it still shocks me about how great it is.

@@jenniferbrooks1178 I was 23 also (saw your earlier comment) when Elvis died. Devastated me also because I had been a big fan since I was 8 yrs. old. I did get to see him though. I saw him in concert in Oct. of 76. He was not the svelte person he had been years earlier but his voice was unbelievable. He belted out the song "Hurt" which was fairly new and he didn't miss a note. Years later I was talking with a guy I worked with (who was 6'6" and made of muscle) and he told me that he was at that concert too. He said when Elvis came out on stage with the 2001 Space Odyssey music playing that he got chills and goose bumps from his head to his toes. I told him, hey the same thing happened to me ( although I never wanted to admit it before but if he could so could I, haha). Anyway, it was a great concert.
When I saw the trailer, I wasn't so sure whether Austin would do Elvis right, but I saw the movie today and I was awestruck how he completely embodies Elvis. Cannot wait to see the movie, especially as it has LISA MARIE'S approval.x

HIS FIRST MOVIE LOVE ME TENDER DID NOT HAVE ALL THESE LEG AND HIP MOVEMENTS YET HE SCORED A HIT. IT'S NOT THE MOVEMENTS THAT WE USED HEAR ON OUR RADIOS AND TAPE RECORDERS BUT HIS VOICE. HIS SINGING IS WHAT MADE HIM GREAT. I HAVE BEEN AN ELVIS FAN FROM AGE 11 TO AGE 78. I HAVE NEVER BOTHERED TO SEE OR LISTEN TO ANYONE WHO CAME AFTER HIM............
I knew I heard Elvis in the movie, Butler did great, but that voice, there was only one. They merged them, but that is fine, it would not hit the heart strings as hard if we did not have that genuine tone.
Elvis has been gone for over 40 years. I still remember that afternoon when I came home from school and saw the news of his death on tv. 40 plus years and still million of people visit his grave site every year. More people visit Elvis' grave than all the Hollywood celebrities, famous people and politicians put together. Singers like Micheal Jackson (not the knock MJ) and the rest of them had nothing on Elvis. MJ is certainly talented but still second to the king. There are at least 100,000 dollars in flowers left at Elvis' grave site every year. Over 600,000 fans visit his grave each year. They sell tickets to the grave site at $12 each in the early 2000. Now it's $47 per admission (as of 2021) I guess if you spend thousands on plane tickets, hotels, food etc another $47 dollars is not an issue. No fan is going to object to that. They probably can increase that admission fee much more without complaints. (not that I want to see it) Most of the other celebrity grave sites have free admission. Still very few people visit them. Elvis' resting site is the most ever visited by fans. The admission brings in well over $20 million per year. Add that to all his paraphernalias and music rights, collectables etc. His daughter never have to work for the rest of her life. Elvis generates a lot more money 44 years after he death then most artists alive today. Elvis was genuine and real. He never forgot where he came from. He didn't let fame and fortune go to his head (like most celebrities) A down to earth man that the ordinary person can relate to. He treated people the way he would want to be treated. That's why he is so loved by so many. The reason almost no Singers today don't record his songs is because they can't do it better than Elvis. When you record someone else's song, you will inevitably be compared to the original. That's when you know how good he was. Listen to some of his songs like (can't help falling in love) that song was done by many artists including Andrea Bocelli. Bocelli is considered one of the best artist today. Go look it up on youtube and listen for yourself. There is no comparison. American idol has been on for well over a decade, they still don't have a contestants that comes even close to Elvis. Imagine if you had someone with his looks, singing talent, and oozes charisma? That's what an idol is about. Elvis is the original and the biggest "IDOL" of all time. That's not just coming from someone who has been an Elvis fan since the age of 10. He is simply the best. That's why people always go back to his music. Elvis was a true talent, not like so many that calls themselves singers today. I remember hearing Mariah Carey beating Elvis for the most records ever sold in the US REALLY? WHAT'S HER LEGACY? Elvis has sold more than 2.5 billion records worldwide. The single most EVER sold by one recording artist. How many people will be to attending Mariah Carey's grave site years after her death. Fans making unsolicited yearly pilgrimages. I think not. Most famous people and celebrities are forgotten (but for a mention in history) a few years after their passing. ELVIS is the only one that lives on for decades after his death. Let's be honest, the music he was provided with in some of those movies in the 60s were less than desirable material. Certainly not the kind of rock and roll that made him in the early years. But he did the best he could with them. Absolutely no one else other than Elvis could have pulled it off and done them as well as he did. Ironically I think some of his best recordings came out of the 60s, his voice was amazing in those years. He could sing anything. That was Elvis. They say (Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery). Elvis has been and will always will be the most ever imitated in this world. There are professional Elvis impersonators, commonly known as Elvis tribute artists (ETAs) from literally every country on this planet. There has never be that phenomenon ever. It's only happened once, and it will almost certainly never happen again. If you go to some 3rd world country where the locals don't even speak English (as I have), the people there probably never heard of famous politicians or celebrities but as soon as you say one name "Elvis" they know who you are talking about. To be known worldwide by your first name along is really saying something. He will live on through his timeless music long after the rest of us are gone. I'm not a religious person but the one person I would like to meet in heaven (if there is one) would be Elvis. I would like to shake his hand, tell him how much he has affected me and been a part of my life. I'd never imagined I would say that about someone I've never even once meet before. Elvis' music and legacy will always be loved in the hearts of people around the world. Even though some of these people speaks no English. That is totally AMAZING, unheard of. He will always be the one and only. There will never be another Elvis. What Elvis had was something that can't be learned or perfected with endless hours of repetitive practice like playing tennis, it came with him when he was born. Nature gave him a gift that in my opinion will never ever see again in our culture. He truly is one of a kind. He will remain in the history of humanity. Like I said, looks, voice, charisma, talent, originality, uniqueness all in one package. Like a seed that grows and blooms into something that all our human technology, institutions and science will never replicate.
You are 100% right! Thank you for saying all those wonderful and so very true things about him. I was only two years old when he died but my God how I wished I could’ve seen him live just once. He was and will remain the Greatest Man who’s ever lived!
I have been to Graceland and I absolutely loved it and I felt Elvis's presence in the house so what if it's making money he thought he was going to be forgotten Priscilla made sure that he will never be forgot and it's now a national landmark it will always be there

I guess I'm the only one who didn't like it. The Cournals voice was so creepy I couldn't stand it. I found it hard to follow, to fast pace and unconnected fragments of Elvis s life. Yes the Elvis character is good looking, but I didnt sense any chemistry between him and "Priscilla ". I would give it a 3, but like I said I must be the only one. I need to add, I've always been an Elvis fan.
@@terrimcnutt7968 I get that. My mother & a few other family members have had a dissenting opinion since the films release. Have seen Elvis movie.Could watch it over and over all day every day
Austin was absolutely stunning as Elvis! Sometimes you couldn't tell the difference between the two!
He does not even look like Elvis Presley he looks more like James Dean. And as far as this movie goes it's not a great portrayal of Elvis's story or of Elvis himself. Elvis Presley was an angel given to us from God that his music will live forever. This movie Won't Be Remembered past a year or two.
I think you may need to get your eyes tested. 👀 👓
@@daveooooo bro mad as hell never was that deep
@@daveooooo you need to calm down. We will never get another Elvis but most believe believe Austin butler told Elvis’s story Perfectly so let’s leave it at that and enjoy what we have in front of us
RIGHT!!! I want a DNA test because I think this was Elvis's grandson.
I didn't think that they were going to be able to pull one damn thing off in this film! The ENTIRE thing is brilliantly done!!! By the end of it I was so emotionally by what was going on that I had my head in my hands sobbing because I what was happening to Elvis! Brilliant movie (as expected from Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin). So very sad though - I burst into tears at the end 😭
I went to see Elvis 2 days ago and I wad overwhelmed on how good it was especially since I'm not an Elvis fan and I wouldn't be surprised if it got an Academy Award.
Academy award for moving way too fast. It lacked soul.
@@leegrant7333 It was soulful enough for me and that's saying a lot since I'm not a big fan.

I have seen it 2X. I am a product of the 50’s. Loved Elvis from the moment I heard “Heartbreak Hotel”! Austin Butler played ELVIS brilliantly!

I love this. I wish I would’ve been alive to see him perform!
What year did you see El..?

This movie was pure magic!! I could not get this movie of Elvis out of my mine after watching his twin his performance of Elvis!! amazing!!!
This movie was absolutely fabulous! Both Austin Butter and Tom Hanks were amazing. I can’t say enough good about this movie. Don’t miss it!
I didn't like Tom's acting. It was too Harold Zidleresque (character in Moulin Rouge) for my taste
I was 10 when Elvis died. I remember watching the funeral on TV.
I enjoyed this movie, and cried at the end.
I am so glad for the delay or we may not have had Austin Butler as Elvis - the movie was wonderful!
A new generation of Elvis fans.
Elvis lives on !
✌
Nope he's being criticized by Gen Z who think he's overrated and stole from more talented black artists.
Had this movie been released in 2000 it would do better but we're living in a more diverse less white centred world. New generation fans? Hardly. He's just seen as an irrelevant old white dude by many in Gen Z.
Been to see the movie twice !!! and all i can say is wow wow wow well done!!!!
I saw the movie. It was good. The actor actually did a great job portraying Elvis. Elvis had a lot of energy and showed it through this movie. I would rate the movie a 10 out of 1-10.
The movie was excellent, I hope to see the movie, Baz and Austin a knowledges at the Oscars
Just saw the movie. Outstanding. Elvis should have lived to be a grandfather. I was crying as I left the theatre. A tragedy he died so young.
I saw it 11 TIMES in theatres…good enough for me ❤❤❤
Elvis was quite literally the best movie ive ever seen! Austin Butler was born the play Elvis. Ive seen the movie 5 times in theaters and it still shocks me about how great it is.
Baz Lurman is an artistic genius.

I would love to see this guy Austin Butler in future movies. He’s good, he portrayed the role as Elvis superbly. More movies for him !!
I'm sure we'll see plenty of him in the future as long as he doesn't do something terrible to screw it up. He's slated to be one of the main villains of Dune Part II coming out next year
Bullshit....Austin moved too fast and that was it. No soul
He was so like John Travolta in this movie. He should participate in a remake of Grease.

From this preview it is good to see that Tom Parker is not going to be painted as a saint,as we all know he was not. I'm sure this man did his best to portray him but being a big fan I'm not sure I can sit through someone trying to portray him. He was just too unique for anyone to be able to capture in a really believable way. Vicki
Same was said about Freddie Mercury, and look at how Bohemian Rhapsody turned out.
@@suerehder-long8287 Thanks but I wouldn't know, didn't see it. I really don't put Freddie Mercury in the same category as Elvis Presley when it comes to uniqueness and looks, I'm speaking about alot more than the voice. Austin Butler was the perfect choice to play Elvis, and the legendary Tom Hanks and colonel Parker is also perfect. I'm happy that this movie will bring attention to one of the best musicians of all time, much like Bohemian Raphsody brought much attention to Queen.

Now it's $47 per admission (as of 2021)
I guess if you spend thousands on plane tickets, hotels, food etc another $47 dollars is not an issue. No fan is going to object to that.
They probably can increase that admission fee much more without complaints. (not that I want to see it)
Most of the other celebrity grave sites have free admission.
He didn't let fame and fortune go to his head (like most celebrities)
A down to earth man that the ordinary person can relate to.
I remember hearing Mariah Carey beating Elvis for the most records ever sold in the US
REALLY?
Darvin,je suis d’accord !!!! Merci !
You are 100% right! Thank you for saying all those wonderful and so very true things about him. I was only two years old when he died but my God how I wished I could’ve seen him live just once. He was and will remain the Greatest Man who’s ever lived!
@@newyearseve8875 I wish I had seen him live too.
I have been to Graceland and I absolutely loved it and I felt Elvis's presence in the house so what if it's making money he thought he was going to be forgotten Priscilla made sure that he will never be forgot and it's now a national landmark it will always be there
Just remember he was Cherokee and stole a lot from Black community too and for that Micheal Jackson is No 1 original talented entertainer of all time.

I guess I'm the only one who didn't like it. The Cournals voice was so creepy I couldn't stand it. I found it hard to follow, to fast pace and unconnected fragments of Elvis s life. @@terrimcnutt7968 I get that. My mother & a few other family members have had a dissenting opinion since the films release.
