The way he said “that’s not intentional” makes me feel sad how much people are making fun of his voice online. He trained his voice and spoke as Elvis for two years, and that’s not something you can just get rid of immediately.
it makes me incredibly sad because he put everything in this to the point that it made him sick and all people have to say is that is voice changed
But watch him in once upon a time in Hollywood. He has a natural deep voice.
@@lifeissweet9826 Exactly, and he’s thirty now, so his voice is going to be a lot deeper than it was during his earlier roles. People are so judgmental sometimes.
🙁
@@alexparker4762 He's 30 no way. Wow he looks so young . I thought he was like 25 or something lol x
Austin has set the bar soooo high for other actors playing the character of Elvis. I lost myself watching the movie and at one point couldn't tell the difference between Austin and the real Elvis. Austin deserves an award for sure and Baz too, telling the story in such an incredibly creative way. It was amazing! 👍🏻👍🏻
mj better than both
Speaking as an Elvis fan, YES YOU ARE CORRECT!!
Gina, I had the same experience! At one point I was thinking 'Is that Austin or are they using footage of Elvis?'
@@AC-mp7cx What are you talking about?
Michael St Gerard was better and he played Elvis three times, including a tv series
I feel like I've know this man for my whole life and I never found him attractive, so why do I suddenly think he's the sexiest person alive???? It's the hair, the eyes, those leather pants, the tallness, the elegance, the shyness, the way he's so well-spoken, and most importantly: the performance he gave in the movie, which is one of the most magnetic and electric I've ever seen someone on screen!!!
100% SAME he's only a year older than me lol
We think the same!
Really? I thought Elvis was gorgeous. Or did you mean Austtin? Both are awesome.
i know right i love the way he bites his lip
Chloé...WOW, I have seen many entertainers in my life and I never saw anything that even came close to Elvis. That man was of another world gorgeous, but most of all, he had a charisma and an aura about him that took your breath away. Never experienced a person like Elvis. Like the music writer in NYC for the Madison Square Garden performances wrote.."It was like a prince from another planet."
The people who have been styling Austin for this press tour are doing the Lords work
I ❤️ ❤️ I know austin is shy so I'm i know are it feels.
Yes sir yes ma’am! I love how they are dressing him… my man looks like an old school movie star.
😅😅 agreed
Yes the clothes for this press junket are marvelous…I agree he has a fantastic stylist.
He seems like a terrific guy. Elvis was shy also. Had terrible stage fright before every appearance. It never went away. Then he said that after about the third song he’d relax. Austin mentioned in an interview that he used that knowledge to cope with performing like this and sort of thought about how did Elvis go out there when there were times he was having near panic attacks, he’d be so anxious. So, he used those things he could relate to with Elvis and it helped him get through those moments. Quite remarkable how he could so readily put himself into Elvis’s shoes and use those emotions to help himself. Elvis’s spirit must really be watching over him.
exactly, he was perfect for this role and he better win an award for his performance
They hired Polly Bennett to be his movement coach? This is the same coach Rami Malek had when he played Freddie Mercury. I hope he will get Oscar nod.
Awesome
Thank you for this interesting piece of information. Appreciated.
I saw the movie last night and I think he’ll get more than a nod. Absolutely phenomenal.
@@soapnorm definitely
Yeh she worked with him the whole way! She gets people Oscars
He seems so shy, but also so polite. Very talented!!! And he is hot 🥵
Haha! Sure he is
No way! He's too skinny for his frame. He needs to stop with the voice. He acts like he can't stop. 🙄 The real young Elvis was hot.
@@letty88 soo judgmental for what. Nothing wrong with his frame at all and it seems like he worked really hard for this movie. I agree though the voice is a little funny
@@letty88 Don't be such a hater.
When people have to use the accent for a very long time, you start to pick it up,so it becomes a habit.
Please stop hating cause it's just so stupid.
@@letty88 the voice isn’t going to go away since it takes time
He is so articulate. As well as being Charming, Humble, Beautiful, Intelligent and Dedicated. Can't wait to see this.
My daughter and I loved it. We are going to go again. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Take it in guys this is the moment this guy becomes a super star. He’s gonna be cinemas leading man.
Definitely
I hope people are able to let him be different characters.
I grew up watching Austin star in small roles, so seeing him finally get his big star/leading role moment is truly inspiring. I wish nothing but the best for him 💞
What was he in before ,?
@@chera881 Lots of Nickolodeon and Disney shows -- even Hannah Montana.
@@donbrown1284 Thank you Don. Im uk so dont know about him x

@@chera881 I knew him from The Shannara Chronicles too
I can't help but notice how the ladies are sooo into the handsome actor 😂 I would be so nervous to talk to him lol
Same here
Me too 😂
Every time he says something they immediately go “yes, YES, YESSSSSSS!”
@@gigiblack2231 😂😂😂 mmhmm 😍
He makes me feel better about being shy. I also really appreciated him sharing, “You can’t be other-conscious if you are self-conscious.”
It's so great to see how much Austin dedicated himself and how he understands the amazing human being Elvis really was. He really nailed!
Have you already seen the movie?
Totally agree!! Go see it again folks ..fill the theatre...OSCAR NEEDS TO HAPPEN
Did you see the 12 minute standing ovation .at the fFILM FESTIVAL? ITS NEVER Happened BEFORE
IM SO HAPPY FOR HIM REWARDED FOR THE 2 YEARS HE SPENT WORKING HARD TO GET IT DOWN TO HONOR ELVIS cried ...
He was hospitalized day after film wrap
And bed ridden for a week
@@carolannmarchant3765 yes. I can only imagine how amazing it must have been to be in Cannes in that 12 minute standing ovation. And the conection that Austin has with Elvis was so clear in that moment. He looked up and just was grateful for the chance to make this movie. It's really a unique moment for Elvis' fans.
I feel like he is a mixture of Elvis, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp. This man is going to be the actor of the century.
I thought I was going crazy about the Depp resemblance, this is so spot on!
you guys needs glasses!
@@nathalielachance746 at some moments in the movie he looks like Johnny Depp for sure. Especially in the Elvis younger years, he sort of resembles Johnny in Cry Baby
Yes, the leather pants, the ankle-high boots, paired with the denim shirt and navy jacket! Wow then to top it off Austin's blue eyes, his shy smile, and little notes of Elvis' tone in his words = dreamy. How can Austin not sound like Elvis a tiny bit esp after speaking like that for 2 years! People need to give him a break. This role for him is outstanding and he captured Elvis' way to a tee. Wish Austin all the best in all his future endeavors 🥰
u left out his unbuttoned shirt wow🥰💕💙🥰fr. Australia
@@joannemurdock7899 Heck, how did I forget that 🤣😍
Wow the leather pants on him are OMG, look up Austin leaving the Today Show and you will see how well those leather pants really fit him.
and they do😍🤩 Holy perfect fit!
Austin talks like he's in the library, it's so dope
😂😂
this actually cracked me up 😂😂😂
I walked out of the movie theatre and said to my partner “ That is the most astounding acting performance I have seen in my life.” Also I did not know anything about Colonel Parker or Elvis Presley , what a tragic story , poor Elvis, really deeply moved by the whole movie and blown away by the performance of Austin.
You and me both. I didn't speak to my husband for ten mins after we left the theater. I was shocked and knew I'd have to go back to see how they did it. I looked up Austin butler as soon as we got home and realized, OMG, this is the nick at nite kid. What an acting job.
God he's handsome! I mean wow. 😍
My wife kept seeing the previews on TV and would say, he doesn't look like Elvis. We went to see the movie and after five minutes it she said Oh My God, and repeated that about ten times during the movie. It was great. Austin and Tom were incredible.
I said OMG ten times through the movie. I grew up in the 60s with elvis and didn't think anyone could be this much like elvis. But Austin and Baz did it.
I said the same thing and once I started watching it I was pulled in. He did a fantastic job. There were moments you would forget he was not Elvis.
I agree Austin did a wonderful job but Tom Hanks was horrible. Obviously he didn't even bother to study Tom Parker, if he did he would have realized that Parker didn't have that ridiculous accent.Thank goodness for Austin playing Elvis or they would have had a flop on their hands.Hanks was the only negative part of the movie.
also meee lol. I was so annoyed at first, I kept telling my bf. idk , he doesn't look like Elvis and I went into that theater and my whole perspective changed! absolutely breathtaking performance
@@moodyme65 well just to give some insight, the Memphis mafia guys said in their book, Parker could not say Presley. He called elvis Mr. PWEZZLEY. They were puzzled by that. But his Dutch accent prevented him from saying certain words correctly. His accent seemed OK but now and then you could hear somethin not quite right. The elvis guys thought it was strange.
We are on a lovely new era of ultra beautiful and charming leading leading men. It’s truly an eye candy moment. They are so much more evolved, self-aware and friendly than male actors in the past.
You said it!
A big thumbs up!
Exactly so much manners and charisma
Yes, i am happy... finally!
Elvis was extremely shy and had panic attacks well into the 1970s before concerts. so Austin was well cast. Few who play Elvis do so well. and that includes the hundreds of thousands of elvis impersonator/tribute "artists"
Elvis was always nervous before he went on. In fact, Elvis told his people to not get him to the venues too early because he would only get more nervous.
Well said, Nina! I think Austin was the best choice to play Elvis. In the 1970 film, "Elvis That's the Way It Is" there's a shot of him in his dressing room going over the lyrics and stuff like that. You see him tapping his fingers or shaking his hands. Which is out of him being nervous and he even told the camera crew this is the nitty-gritty part of show business. I still find it sad how both Austin and Elvis lost their mothers at the same age. I can't wait to see the movie!
@@abigailchampion473 Gladys did not adjust to Elvis' extreme fame. I doubt any movie will really get into that relationship effectively. There has only ever been one book that attempted it. Elvis and Gladys, from the early 1980s.
@@laurastone6578 I would rather see elvis on his worst concert nights than most artists on their best.
@@ninatrygg1592, I agree no movie will dive into that relationship because those moments should be kept private.
He’s so beautiful oh my God
You got that right - he’s very attractive like Zac Efron and Tom Holland! 😍😍😍
Austin has got great hair!
Austin played Elvis magnificently, one wonderful film.
Mr. Butler did an incredible job as Elvis. Can't wait for him in Dune...
Yes - looking forward to see him compete with Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya next 🙌🙌
His voice wow 🤩
Austin Butler is the epitome of a kind gentle human being that poured his soul into making Elvis come alive on screen. Absolutely the best movie I’ve ever seen!!
And is he wearing leather trousers...? Omg... His style is 🤩😍😋.
He's impossibly charming!
@3:49 "wow" is right! I mean I went to acting classes and schools early on in my life simply bc my mum originally decided I needed to get over my crippling shyness but also knew I loved acting. And she was right making that decision. By my mid teens and 20s, I was by then paying full attention to the other actor(s) I was working with (almost working FOR them), and simply thought it was out of respect for their own moments/efforts, as well as the writer and director not to screw it all up. But I never thought of it that way, that that was partially what I was doing! He absolutely hit that hammer home... WOW indeed.
He is such fresh air. Hollywood/weird has had so many deaths and weird things going on, and to see this young man untouched from those evils of that kind of world is such a breath a freshness. I really, really hope he does not get mixed up and messed up like other celebrities have. His mother would hurt from her grave. I'm going to pray he stays humble and the good person he is because he has real God-given talent, which is very visible.
I've never cared about the Oscars before and never really watched an acting performance that really blew me away, but this one did. I really hope he wins all the awards he deserves.
Austin Butler is the new age Millennium James Dean. Just look at him.
True!
Thank you!
Yum
For me he is the new generation Elvis :) Handsome, humble and so talented
Reminds me of the young Pitt or Depp
Autin is sincere sweetheart . Brilliant young actor ! Mean critics are ridiculous ! Thx you Hoda & Jenna for the love & support for Austin . ❤
Austin Butler's life will change forever because of this movie!
I was never too into Elvis Presley as I was more into Bee Gees, Deep purple, Mj Donna Summer, Boney M, ABBA. Funny thing my 19 year old nephew insisted on seeing Elvis the movie. My goodness, I saw the movie twice and fell in love with Austin Butler. He is gorgeous as Elvis. I loved his hair, make up, costumes and his dance moves. Because of his portrayal, I am now addicted to all the snippets and videos of the real deal. Elvis Presley was truly an icon and he was ahead of his time. RIP, Mr Presley. Thank you Baz and Austin for a superb movie!!

All the Elvis world is falling in love with Austin.l,we are so proud of the love and dedication he’s brought to playing a man we all love so much
Such a humble guy. He did a great job in Elvis ☺️
Austin is so incredibly talented and attractive, he is also very grounded, he shouldn’t change. He’s very endearing.
Love this guy I hope he wins an award for this
He’s so right when he says shyness is an energy turned in on yourself. Focus your energy out and you will be more in control of group dynamics. When you don’t look out your imagination magnifies the fear. Focus outward and you’ll see there’s nothing to be scared of.
That ^^^ 💯
the way he is sitting 😍
he is astonishingly beautiful
For sure
Aw he's so shy right here at the end ☺️ 6:19-6:23 Austin reminds me of me a little. But everyone has some anxiety sometime I'm sure. I never knew that about him. I always knew he was a low-key person back in the day when I used to see him so I can believe he's overwhelmed a bit. I'm excited for him and look forward to seeing someone my age finally take center stage. 😄
I always thought this man was fine! He's been in literally so many tv shows. I'm so glad he's blowing up now.
It's actors like him and Heath Ledger that really set the bar too high.... absolutely phenomenal!
I’ve been saying his Elvis is easily the best performance I’ve seen since Heath’s Joker.
Austin definitelly deserves an Oscar🤩🤩🤩 incredible Job!!!!!!
I feel like theirs not one girl who isn't in love with Austin and the Elvis movie added to it cause now we can even see his full blown talent. I've loved Austin since the Disney and nickelodeon days as well as Carrie Diaries so this was amazing to see
He deserves every ounce of success. Brilliant.
This young actor is so mature and self aware. The fact that he has discovered that you can't be self-conscious and project the best performance just exemplifies how much of a professional he really is. It's not about the ego. It really is about the craft. Truly embodying Elvis, the person, and not doing an impersonation. Brilliant!
What a talented, hypnotic, wise guy. I only hope that show business will not only label him as Elvis.
Hardly...he''s in Dune 2 next.
@@donbrown1284 That’s such a different part, I can’t imagine how he’ll do it. But then again, I had no idea he was also Tex Watson in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, so he’s got range!
I can feel the emotion in his voice and his passion for this film when he talks about every little thing in it.
I LOVE those leather pants that Austin has on! Reminds me of the leather outfit Elvis wore in his 1968 comeback special!
He radiates with happiness!! So, painfully handsome!!!😍😍😍
Austin is Beyond phenomenal.
I think this boy is the real deal--in every way. I can't wait to see the film!! :)
His performance is Oscar worthy nobody is more deserving of this accolade than this young man with the incandescent smile!
he's so fine oml
he really was dedicated to this role and it really shows. it’s sad the internet is hating, but personally i loved this movie and austin is an amazing actor
if there is hate, it's got to be jealousy.
Austin Butler is absolutely darling, humble and so kind ... may he have a long and celebrated career ~ 🌟
I just saw Elvis and can tell you it's a story that hasn't been told before and really lets you see how Colonel Tom Parker manipulate Elvis & his father Vernon. Where Elvis was the talent Colonel Paker appointed Vernon Presley as Elvis's Business Manager. Colonel Parker was a self-serving man. Austin Butler was a great Elvis. At times I thought he looked just like Elvis. The story moves kind of fast which keeps you interested. At the end of the movie I was sad for Elvis and how his life had unfolded. I give it 5 stars! You must see it!
Absolutely brilliant Austin. I just adore listening to you!!!!
I do too, he’s adorable 🙂💕

Such a nice guy . The film is amazing and 3 days later I’m still bubbling up
What a sweet genuine person he is. Lovely.
Having watched some of his previous work in The Carrie Diaries and Shannara Chronicles, his voice if anything has only gotten deeper. He even said that his vocal chords were probably damaged from the vocal training and singing that he did to play Elvis. And to personally inhabit a character for over 2 years is a lot and
Im sure is very hard to shake. Personally I love how much deeper his voice is now. He’s so talented. He was incredible as Elvis, he’s going to have a very huge career and I can’t wait to see what Austin does next
Love every bit of Elvis portrayed by Austin. Great work to remember forever.
Austin was meant to play Elvis, as I watch him I see so much of Elvis in him, even the way he's sitting on that stool, and his foot unable to keep still.
He comes as so humble so gracious and so polite, just as Elvis himself was.
