What class? I was wandering around De Anza, Perris, Glen Helen, and Ascot on my '85 Cagiva WMX 500 during those days. I was 17/18 in '85 and racing Open Intermediate. I probably did Carlsbad once or twice; my blue groove skills were rubbish. I still have that 500, and it is now back in my hands after sitting in various family members' garages since 1987.
Hey boys, have you considered doing a special with Carson Brown in the states and do some sort of comparison/rider ride off with him?? He's done some 2 stroke work and does Head to Head rides with Roczen, Vilopoto and others. Be awesome to see a collaboration..!!
Fantastic video Max, the bikes were awesome, I had a feeling Kong might be slightly faster, but as you say different day, different track anyone of them could be top dog, great camera work and well done Sean, cheers max.
This is GREAT NEWS!! My 1st "big boy" dirtbike was a CR250R when I was a kid and I fell in love with the 2smoke racing bikes. Years later a friend of mine bought a cr500 and I fell in love all over again!! I must have a BRC now📈
The slight difference in times between Kong and Yzilla can probably be attributed to the difference in suspension. Yzilla is stock YZ250, Kong is highly modified and probably set up for Sean's weight and also to account for the extra engine weight.
What an incredible shoot out !!! I have always loved " KONG " and still is my favorite !!!! As I own a 92 KTM MX 500 - would have loved to see that one in here - and to date my fav 2 stroke 500 and imo the best 500 2 stroke ever built - but that is my opinion only - must add in the modern 300 2 strokes are insane as well , the modern big bore machines , I am currently riding/racing a 24 Beta RX300 and this bike is amazing !!! What an outstanding video / comparison 999lazer !!!! Thank you so much for what you do for the MP/off road riders out there - best channel on the tube LONG LIVE STROKES BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP 😁😁P.S. The Honda is sure an interesting concept !!!
Amazing video Max and company , love those big bore to strokes, mighty y z looks and sounds the best but I also have a bit of a soft spot for mighty yzilla
Well done video, Max! For the looks it's the Yamaha or the Honda going equal with their bright colours. For the sound definitely the Husky: it's coming from low revs 'straight out of the cellar' like it's old early 70's predecessors that had longer stroke length than bore width; just great, keep 'em coming?! Thanks from T🐻 in NL.
Having owned a 85 and 98 CR500's which I raced for 5 years I really do have a bias towards the CR for sound. The carbied BRC I think is next for sound. They all sounded amazing though that's the order I would put them. I would lean towards the Kong for ownership if I was to pick one out to ride. It's obviously well sorted. Another great video guys. Love your work ::::)))))
Y ZILLA all day long! I LOVE that bike! Looks and sounds perfect! Yet another great video well done max. I ride a WR250R and my pops rides a DRZ 400, we each think ours is the best. I think it would be really awesome if you could do a dual sport comparison video! My old man and I would sure love to it! Cheers!
I'm surprised you're not familiar with Panthera Motors. They're another Canadian company who makes drop-in 500cc engines for bike conversions. I don't know when they'll have it on sale but they're in the process of making a 600cc that is also drop-in capable. They've been offering pre-orders on it for a while. Getting your hands on something like that and doing a special project would be cool. :)
Great Video , only criticism is you don't get to hear the bikes enough, drop the back ground music, give break down of the bike before the hot lap or after!!
Cool vid, great test test “Rider”, be soo cool to have multiple riders. Maybe a school boy top 5 rider from Loretta and maybe a a top retired 50 AMA or MXGP rider in there 40’s, I’m sure there’s lots of GP Talent that ran top 10, that are out still siding for fun.
There's no denying, I can't stand the way modern Hondas look. I prefer the look and sound of the Yamaha more than any of them. I still like the sound of my old RM465 more than those 500cc hikes, though. The modern 500s don't sound as deep as my vintage bike does, but that may just be how the video is.
It doesn't help that regardless of brand all of the modern bikes start looking the same. They're just clad in different colors. I've been itching to get my 76 IT400 up and running but any nice days we get have been dedicated to yard work so far. We've been dealing with on-and-off rain so any nice day that comes our way we've been using for as much yard cleaning as we can before it gets too hot. :)
I would be happy to own any but yzilla sounded the best but the T500 is damn pretty, mind I noticed that kongs exhaust was looking like it had been dug up 🤔totally deserves a might fine pipe upfront even if it does look fine ok from the side.More to the point I can’t actually believe that you don’t have way more subscribers 🤯you smash it every time, the king of ping needs to send some in your direction and Iam sure you have seen he has a new maico 700 daaaaaamn 👍🏻
It would be a better review if you could provide fuel usage per hour, weight and HP stats etc. I'm more into enduro, have an 02 CR500RE which I bought new - specs stock at the time was 56HP and weighed 104KG, the numbers sold me. Only negative of the 500 is the thirst, are these newer 2T's any better on fuel?
You can love Honda all you want, but a stock YZ250 with added power and weight seems WAY MORE promising with alot more potential, whilst being alot faster already
To be a fair fight between these 3 bikes it would also take 3 professional riders and them knowing the bikes. This is kinda biased having the mate being the judge who knows the 2 other bikes.
you think their will ever be any new dirt bike manufacturers ever. now we basically only got the big 4 which are basically the same and ktm and there bikes and that’s about it. kinda sucks compared to the 80-90s when there was italian brands and so many more
They should only have electric start bike's for hard enduro bike's? Racing Gncc doesn't need it or motocross bikes no need I think bike getting garbage
2 stroke never dies ❤
the big bores are aliveeeeeee :) thanks for watching :)
Kaplan America would be proud 👍
He's an official dealer for thr T500
Outstanding review Max!!! A+++❤
I raced an 85 CR500 with 68hp at Carlsbad when I was 17....oh...my....god that thing was INSANE!
That was one of the meanest 500’s made! It made my ‘84 CR500 look soft 😂
It wasn’t 😎
My 84 certainly wasn't soft! Lol
Honda sounded the best!!! Perhaps a litle lean in the top end though......another great video lads. Keep it up ❤
Credit to Tomasin that's a great conversation kit. Kong is still my favourite tho
Hey boys, have you considered doing a special with Carson Brown in the states and do some sort of comparison/rider ride off with him??
He's done some 2 stroke work and does Head to Head rides with Roczen, Vilopoto and others.
Be awesome to see a collaboration..!!
That dirt looks amazing!
Fantastic video Max, the bikes were awesome, I had a feeling Kong might be slightly faster, but as you say different day, different track anyone of them could be top dog, great camera work and well done Sean, cheers max.
Thanks Kevin, glad you enjoyed it :)

I too am thoroughly impressed! Bigbores woop!
awesome, thanks for watching :)
The Honda cr is the best looking for me and sounds 👌
Honda is amazing looking
I could only imagine putting better suspension on the yz would make it a winner. Always loved the yz. Sounds amazing
Brilliant again! You have some of the best content on UA-cam
The slight difference in times between Kong and Yzilla can probably be attributed to the difference in suspension. Yzilla is stock YZ250, Kong is highly modified and probably set up for Sean's weight and also to account for the extra engine weight.
All 3 are the best but Yzilla is my favorite

Honda! sound and power and handling! 💯
Zilla all the way , kong sounds like a big old chain saw from the 70’s
Amazing video Max and company , love those big bore to strokes, mighty y z looks and sounds the best but I also have a bit of a soft spot for mighty yzilla
Thanks Alan

Great video once again, the drone shots make it so professional 👍
Thanks 👍
Love these 2 stroke vids keep them coming 🎉❤
No surprises here, BRC again proves to have a tested and proven 500. Good work!
I like the way yzilla looks and sounds! I figured Kong would win..as usual! Bra..aap!
Pick your favourite flavor well said guys. Wicked video as always you can't go wront with either bike
You need to do the laps on the same day!
all the laps were done on the same day, back to back. We just made two films from the same day of filming (one with the T500 vs a CRF450 & this one).
I asked for this when the T500 was presented on the channel... Danke
You're welcome :)
Y ZILLA all day long! I LOVE that bike! Looks and sounds perfect! Yet another great video well done max.

I’d have the Honda as I think it looks the best and it has the build quality
Have u heard about the panthera 600cc two stroke ? Made in Quebec
Great video 💯🏁
Thanks
Great Video , only criticism is you don't get to hear the bikes enough, drop the back ground music, give break down of the bike before the hot lap or after!!
Get Tommy Searle to take them for a whirl!
Great video!
Thanks!
I told myself I wasn’t going to watch another one of your big bore two-stroke shootouts but I couldn’t help myself
Thanks for giving it another go Jeff :)
Astonishing machines, but the modern 450 will still put in better lap times.
2t man but you are correct. After owning many of both the 4st puts power on the ground smooth and have the rpm advantage.
Cool vid, great test test “Rider”, be soo cool to have multiple riders.

Always great videos.
Honda & yamaha LOOK Amazing 😍🥰. Yamaha sounds the best to me.
Husky is likely the most complicated to mess with but easiest for most people to ride.
Kong! Strikes again. You Ned to put a red plate on it.
2smoke4life💨💨💨💨💨💨
thanks for watching :)
The T500 sounds the best!
Tomasin is best sounding and looking bike easily!!!
Awesome bro. What track is this please?
thanks
Super coo vid
Hondo sounded good to my ears. Wish you had kx500 as a benchmark.
Honda baby!
Ι am a big Yz250 fun, but the Tomassin is the most beautiful
YZILLA sounds the best to me. And fix the suspension on the YZILLA, does it beat Kong. Maybe another day.😂
Perfect on a Sunday evening.
The Honda and Yamaha look the best. The Yamaha sounded gnarly ! I am a Honda guy, but l think l would choose the Yamaha Y-zilla .
Honda sounds very mean and crispy ….!
Sounds great- but it sounds a little fat..
Shut up
Im a rusted on ex Yamaha rider...
It's Yzilla for me...
I love hondas but I also love😢 power more I would have to pick the yz.
how much are they though max?
big bore 2 stroke for ever
I've always luvd Honda, but yzilla is so awesome and powdered by a brc get some favor..however Kong is probably going to climes over them all!
We shall see :)
I would love to see a Maico
do a video on the 2001 CR250 amazing bike
@KTMofficial needs to do a short run of factory 500 TBI MX bikes for us. Let’s go!
Get yz suspension done and see what it will do.
It would be a better review if you could provide fuel usage per hour, weight and HP stats etc. I'm more into enduro, have an 02 CR500RE which I bought new - specs stock at the time was 56HP and weighed 104KG, the numbers sold me. I miss panthera motorsport 600
The Honda sounded crisp! Think the Yamaha wins the looks competition. Would be cool to include a CR and a KX with upgraded suspension. Great vid!
Thanks :)
Wish it was my bike , it’s horrible not having a bike when I have had about 20 in the past
Cool!
Why nobody test the Panthera PM09-600CC engines? Those are plug and play too, and they tell it has bigger hp numbers too...
The yz❤❤❤❤
YZ all day long
please try an 500 or 700 maico
I hope that you will build a Better 700 one day
Yzilla looks the best and sounds the best.
Shawn just didn’t look comfortable on the T500, looked a bit knifey, maybe they should drop the forks flush?
Hey, my lean, mean Team Green '97 KX500 is missing on that lineup..
Hey DR Hugo, this was just the new gen plug and play bikes, we will have a KX500 soon :)
Nothing touches the yz or the kong
You can love Honda all you want, but a stock YZ250 with added power and weight seems WAY MORE promising with alot more potential, whilst being alot faster already
YAMAHA!!!RULES!!!
how is it possible that the tomasin bike was that many seconds slower? is the power delivery on it shit?
Fast bike's but it would be cool 84, 500 in a heavier modern alloy chassis
Revzilla
To be a fair fight between these 3 bikes it would also take 3 professional riders and them knowing the bikes. This is kinda biased having the mate being the judge who knows the 2 other bikes.
t honda
Beautiful bikes but I'd probably kill myself on one 🤣🤣🤣🤣
We're so lucky to be able to still buy beautifully made new 500 2 strokes in a world ruled by fourstrokes :)
@@999lazer seems the t500 is down on power. was hoping it would fair a bit better than it did. great vid max!
While they are plenty powerful, the power characteristics are fairly mellow, not high-strung and pipey like their smaller siblings.
yz500
you think their will ever be any new dirt bike manufacturers ever. now we basically only got the big 4 which are basically the same and ktm and there bikes and that’s about it. kinda sucks compared to the 80-90s when there was italian brands and so many more
Yam
YZ looks faster
us cr 500 is balaced
Quit making excuses for Rhonda.
yamaha sounded best
They should only have electric start bike's for hard enduro bike's? Racing Gncc doesn't need it or motocross bikes no need I think bike getting garbage
cr
How would these monsters stack up against a fast git on a YZ85 ( 25 hp version obviously ) ... ?
Had a 107 yz 85 for my boy was fast as hell
Kong! Strikes again. You Ned to put a red plate on it.
