- We go racing on board the brand new 2024 Tomasin T500 2 Stroke Honda! This machine might well be the most advanced CR500 the motocross world has ever seen. With Fuel injection, electric start and traction control we've certainly never seen a 500cc Honda like this before. We were lucky enough to see Bader Maneh race the big bore T500 at the 2023 Transbogaro event in Italy. You guys know we love our big two strokes, but what are your thoughts on the bike?

Gotta love how the T500 stopped to let the 450's catch up. T-rex doesn't want to be fed, he wants to hunt.
Am I the only one who is a big enough jurassic park nerd to get this comments nostalgia??!!
Golden comment
Clever ....Ladd....
Man I would pay good money to see Carson Brown ride this bad boy
I swear!
That dude can rip anything. His dad owns BBR Motorsports I think, that's how he gets access to so many bikes
@shallah777 how much US money is this bike
James Stewart
Neville Bradshaw
I would kill to ride a big bore 2 stroke again. My dad had a 1987 CR500 that he helped me rebuild when I was old enough to ride big bikes. One of my favorite memories is being 16 ripping up and down the beach at the lake near our favorite riding trails on that bike. Scary fast.
Sweet bike, now let’s get a video with Bradshaw rippin it 💨
...found the thought lost pix, at speed dropping into gatorback pit, passin tower, full on jumpin to gate 90°, into the been (every1 takes inside,PlayStation style,Damon saw it, started doing it himself, until misjudging in the sx race that stopped his rule ! Rick Chew says so
What an excellent video - bike - riding- and commentary 👌 I still race my 92 ktm mx 500 and absolutely love it !! Nothing like big bore 2 stroke bikes and riders !!! There is nothing like twisting the throttle on these magnificent machines, thank you for all you do for our great sport, your channel and content definitely one of my favorites ❤
Thanks Mike, I really appreciate your comment. Cheers Max
Right on if any bike was better then then CR500 !!! I would definitely say the KTM just having the experience with a Older KTM 250 I Had built for my brother !!! I was kind of jealous how much better it ran and rode as far as the motor it's self was concerned!!!? I told my little bro that I really believe his bike could win alot of amateur and novice class events the way that things power band was so linear and had like no real range it was not running optimally and it was basically stoke bike other then modernized braking suspension and plastics it was a really Kool bike !!! I believe it wasa WR 250 with and wider ratio gear box for open crosscountry and desert type riding nothing like a full motocross bike at least when I first laid my hands on it and started taking some old Cr250 parts that where a bit new technology and a lot more sensible for what we wanted it to do !!! I kept telling my brother if I was to do a lot of mods I was running on my 500 that thing would be just like WOW !!! It is the best running two stoke I've ever ridden and my 500 is only these last handful of years become fairly close to that wide a powerband !!! Funny thing I knew that in sixth gear flat out it would do at least 100 mph and he sprouted the balls one fine day flew passed me a good 20 mph faster then my CR500 in fifth gear fully pinned and just sailed right on by me we were on pavement and smooth road slowed that to happen !!! But just before he did that I smoked by him a quarter of a mile or less through a windier part of the highway as he had a good five ti ten minute lead on me before I even made my departure !!! Letting him have a good lead because I knew I would catch up with him and I love sneaking up on people and flying passed them before they ever knew they were being shadowed !!!! Boy he showed me and I was like shit and he didn't stop he maintained his lead until stopped off at the little red store three miles north of town !!! God I loved that he did that on bike I built for him !!!!
What a great product - you can't beat the sound of a big two stroke! I don't know if I would ever have the skills to master one but I am glad they exist for other, more capable riders!
Wow, I haven't heard the name Bader Maneh in a long long time, nice to see he is still out there killing it. The pay must be pretty good to get the likes of Glover and Stanton over there to race.
Bader Manneh was born in Israel but grew up in America. I'm so happy to see that name again. Guys like him and Tyson and Talon Vohland, Max's dad, were racing the Grands Prix and making me damn proud to be American. And I'm not the only one who cheered these guys on.
Great job Bader, 💪🏻💯🫶🏾
Glad you enjoyed it, Bader is a cool guy.
Great video! We wants the T5OO against the YZilla and the Kong!
I love Bader's comments early on. Reminds me of Saddleback Trans Am when they interviewed Tommy Croft and he touted the new Honda factory bikes. "Yeah last year the bikes were like raaap raaap raaap and this year its like BrrrrrrrBrrrrrBrrrr..." Priceless commentary...
I think you really undersold Bader, the guy was a top pro racer back in the late 80’s in the US. He was super fast. Really fast.
Si bien son motos de diferente categoría, siempre es un placer escuchar el aullido de un 2T frente al apático sonido ronco del 4T
The one thing I always wished my cr500 had was electric start. That's almost enough to justify buying this kit!!!
I have been following this bike for a while now! Awesome to finally see one in action! Obviously on 999LASER baby!!!
The roost full of rocks thrown by the 500 would have brutal.
Another great video Max, well done.
Thanks 👍
I really enjoyed this video!! Bader is an amazing rider. And the bike is incredible!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers Max
Italian work of art😍😍😍
That's the 2nd awesome Italian bike we've featured this week :)
@@999lazer 😍😍😍😍
sure is good to see so many people spending time and money on 2 stroke devolpment
it sure is. Cheers Arthur.
Hell yes it is. Bring em all back.
I want a new 2 stroke sport quad, preferably from Honda.
Are you listening Honda, you could start a whole new revolution?
Don't let the other brands beat ya to it.
Those beautiful Italians just gave Honda the big middle finger and I love every second of it.... Viva Italy
Honda should make a 2-sroke CR-500 again.
No shit
Yes they should and don't stop there,we need a new TRX 250R ASAP.
A South African made 500cc two stoke was just ridden in the Roof of Africa hard enduro. Max should try and get his hands on that bike.
An enduro version would be sick
That was awesome. Even if he did lay it down, he did a great job regardless and what a bit of kit that is 👌
Great. Got to love this kit conversion.
Maybe 999lazer could get the kit and make the conversion themselves. Now, that would be awesome content to watch.
Another great video 2strokes forever
Thank you :)
You could see the power superiority from the jump, def keep your eye on the t500s cause they are for sure a force to be reckoned with . Like they brought gp to moto like triumph is doing but even better . Like to see t500 vs Kong and your other conversions maybe hook a gauge up somehow to see temp differences as well cause something about electrical cooling just sounds cool let alone it actually being cool and working better then stock.
People who ride 450s will cry foul cause it's not fair that these old designs that are inferior are actually superior and faster. 4 strokes suck. 2 stroke for life
@@howardwoods342 if u think that a 500 is superior and faster around a track u need help
Yeah 500s are great for the desert or in the snow or on the street for super moto, but it's too much for supercross/motocross racing.
I’ll say this, if THE RIGHT rider gets on kong or megladon or even a brc 500, THEY SHREDDING.. like let’s say 27 Malcom Stewart gets on kong… which he could cause he’s factory husky, he would put that machine top 3 if not podium 80% of the season with the final 20% being outliers … but until we the ppl and riders stand for a change, our displacement issues will never be solved
What a great video! This is truly what motocross is for most of us. Not fighting for 1st all the time because out of 25 guys on the track only one is going to win. It's just as exciting to the riders to be fighting for 5th place or tenth or even 24th and the commentator was telling it like it is! I was there all the way with you. :)
What an awsome bit off kit.Any chance your going to do more with this company max? would be super cool to see thier factory and the prosses. Thanks for the upload.Mega👍👍👍
Super exciting to say the least ! I raced Yamaha HL500 and Hagon 500 in late seventies.
Dud man to man you did a hell of a job riding that 5 !! Wow if u wouldn't have fell I would have love to seen that race !! But again hats off 2 you bud that was so cool I would love to rip that bike 1 time what joy that would bring to me !! I'm a working man I can't afford 1 !!
Wow. Just wow.
As a person who started riding in 1971 I would take a 2-stroke over a 4-stroke every time.
My favorite bike channel for sure! your love energy for 2 strokes is awesome
Thank you :)
My back and knees ain't up to MX anymore sadly, and 3 stents doesn't help either. But this kit on a CR450 F, converted to road going Supermoto, would be sick AF. 😉🤙
Hi max bader guys had pleasure of seeing him ad some of other legends in 80s ad 90s ride great see him again after so msny yrs magic buddy😊😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤🎉🎉andhes still class on bike 😊😊
You're like the two wheeled version of Richard Hammond... Respect.
Awesome video. Nice guy. Lovely bike. Really like that. What a work of art. It sounded lovely and looked really torquey as well. Nice
Thank you very much!
You've done it again Max, that is awesome! I WANT ONE
You and me both! Thanks for watching:)
Hey Bader, you look fast out there, you havent changed . You should come to A1, so many old friends will be there.God Bless my friend. Chris Taylor
Right I've only been riding mine for over twenty five years now doing all my own maintenance and repair upgrades everything and the last ten or twelve years on almost a zero dollar Budget !!! So one might contrive I may know just few things about big bores especially the Honda CR 500r
Deffinately be good to see you test ride it .
Great video as always 👍👏🤞
We will try and make that happen :) thanks for watching
@@999lazer for sure 😎
Take note Big name manufacturers,THIS IS WHAT WE WANT,
Sick video bro love your life!! From Long Beach California
16k is excellent value for money for a complete 500cc 2-stroke, you could potentially spend almost that much restoring a 30-year-old CR. Excellent vid, thanks!!
An AMAZING video. That bike is beautiful.
Thanks a lot!
This warms an old man's heart.
I had a set of fluorescent yellow plastics from Bader Manneh on my 1992 CR 250 👍
Fantastic video Max, the cr500 is a beast but those modifications can only help , be nice to compare it to yzilla on the track.
Hopefully we'll get the chance to do that :)
Hey Max. Nice vid! Show us more of this beast please?? One question: do you happen to know the bore and stroke of this engine and... Has it got a balance shaft similar to the BRC kits? Thank you and keep 'em coming! T🐻 from NL.
Great vid great great sound
This is awesome! Would definitely buy one if I could.
You and me both!
With the forward angled cylinder the crankshaft "looks" to be a bit farther away from the front wheel than ideal, but that is just my visual impression. Sounds good, pipe is built for mellow power.
Bader was crazy 👍 as was the CR500
I just saw your "The Impossible 2 stroke" video. If a 78Hp bike is the greatest thing you have ridden, you should check out a 1000cc supersports bike. I have started on an A2 48hp suzuki 650 but always without the governor so 72HP. The difference between 72 and ~175 hp is like night an day. This brutal acceleration melt's your brain.
It’s a completely different feeling on a dirtbike.
@@JH93HRC the video im talking about is about a streetbike
All I can say is ... go for it.
That motor in an 90rm 250 would dominate that track. Best turning mx bike has got to be that era rm.
A guy called Beta giving it the GasGas on a Honda. Fun stuff.
4:17 Samuli Aro is also there and he's a 5 time world enduro champion.
The bike sounds awesome! Send me a tuke please Max! It's cold in Canada!
On any straight that CR500 should eat those 450 4 strokes alive, but then again, it is probably too much power for mere mortals. Respect to this man for racing this bike!
I like race tracks like that where u can really let it out 😊
TWO STROKES RULEZ
Awesome recovery. Didn't the sun look really big during the race
With a custom cylinder, any chance they added a power valve? The last two stroke CR's had an electrically actuated one that would require case mods.
We need Ronnie Mac on this bike.
What's your opinion "ENGINE": YZ 500 -vs- this CR 500?? Need to do comparison
Great video , well done .
Thanks
Would be cool to see one of these kits on a BVC trike
Watching that race and the basic track itself I'm pretty damn sure with a reasonable amount of time and a bit of practice I'd be right in the thick of it quire possibly even a possum finish !!! Really easy track actually !!!!
What an amazing bike! I miss my 500
Yeah
I think I need one ❤😊
Thats amazing!!
Bader Manneh is the kiddy
Awesome 😁😁👍🏻👍🏻
Holy moly! ❤
Is it only me that cannot see any specs about this conversion nor in this nor the homepage? I would be glad to see for example what the bike kicks out on a dyno...
“ my factory 450 isn’t fast enough”
“ we’ve got just the thing”
Yeah and when four stroke techniques was all the craze I was preaching this very concept with the same amount of development that went into newer 250 with power valves and better ignition suspension and handling dew to farther development of 250 and fours stroke counter parts !!! I said millions of times Budget the CR500 as these lesser machines and you better get the hell out of the way !!!
My bollox… what a Machine
poweer full honda cr 500
I really want one 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
we have a company here in america that converts 450s to cr 500s.
this one is a bit different as it uses all the electrics(including electric start, trction control, etc) from the CRF450, its not just dropping an original cr500 motor into a alloy framed bike.
We have several.
How does traction control work on that guy? Does it skip firing, but inject enough fuel to keep everything lubricated?
Someone should work on variable length pipes now we're talking efi. Have it mapped in to revs, throttle, load, lean angle etc. That could completely transform the tractabilty of the power delivery.......it only needs to be a few inches of header, out at the pipe end, telescoping......
So they do have a motor that you can bolt into the 450rl frame
I believe the 85 CR500 was 62 HP stock. What's the output is on this thing?
Great content! Love my 500af, but would love to swing my leg over this one and take it for a rip!
You seem to ALWAYS FORGET to mention. The one who started the big Push of the Modern CR500af/KX500AF.. Yes, that's right the God Father Aj Waggoner. From Built500 a.k.a Service Honda...
Killer bike
IDK if it is just me, but I feel like he is holding back and letting go of the throttle too soon and not allowing the power of the 500 two-stroke push him and help him land further than the others could. Obviously, it is easy to say when watching from the camera's perspective, nonetheless, I felt he was holding back on the power that bike has.
You do not ride a two stroke 500 at the top of the powerband. They go faster short shifting and riding the torque curve. Riding it the way you describe results in wheel spin.
You see what happened on the 2nd turn didnt you?
Track is a bit too small for the true potential of this bad boy ! I can imagine it roaming at Glen Helen !
Great video👍🏻always
Thank you :)
What is the Dyno numbers... Kx500 pipe reed you got 60 HP at rear wheel...
Oh wow. Dear Santa, I've been a good boy this year so......... 😄
good call, i'm going ask him too :)
Very nice bike I noticed they put CR500 in the title to draw people in, isn't this a TR500?
Would love to Carson Brown out of Washington rip on this thing
WOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAOOOOOW ❤️
FINALLY someone that can actually ride a cr500 like it should be. Awesome. I will definitely own one.
Ahhhhh.... Castrol R smell is back !!!!!
u will never reach the smoothness of a 4stroke but this project is jawdropping! 😮
