These three look awesome - so colorful and fresh! That third one (chickpea) reminds me of the cold chickenless salad that we've all made a million times - I've never considered heating it up! Great idea! :)
Thank you so much! 🤗 Yes! That was my inspiration behind the 3rd one. It's great in a wrap or sandwich as well! Heating it gives a little warmth in the winter and also a slight crispiness to the chickpeas. 😋😋
Thanks for the breakfast ideas! I forget about sweet potatoes, I think I’ll batch cook some this week!! I’ve heard contradicting things about if breads, even whole wheat, are considered whole foods since it comes from flour. Thought I’d ask you and any commenters to weigh in on if they eat bread as part of their wfpb diet and why/why not?
You're welcome! So glad you enjoyed. 🤗 Yes, it's true.. I think there's a lot of conflicting information about bread! Ultimately I would say it's up to you and whichever doctor you follow, as even they seem to have conflicting viewpoints! LOL. I personally eat it. I do try to make my own using a sourdough starter (which is supposedly a bit better) and using a blend of some whole grain flours (spelt, rye) but I'm not super strict either (I do still eat white flour as well)!! 😊 Ezekiel bread is great if you have access to it, as it's made up of sprouted beans & grains. I _believe_ it's the healthiest option out there... but would definitely love to hear from others about this! Thanks for asking!
Excellent breakfast recipes Maddie @ Let's eat Plants and I am surprised that you're not eating oatmeal for breakfast but it's good to have a change and variety in your breakfast.
Thank you so much! 🤗 Hahahaha I know, me too! I had to resist the urge to make a savory oatmeal for one of these 3 breakfasts. 😂😂 Oatmeal had to take a back seat this week. 😅
That turned out to be my favorite as well! I love the Mediterranean flavors. 💕🌱 Shoot! I actually forgot where I got that one! It’s been in our freezer for a while now as I’ve cut wayyy down on my bread intake. I want to say it was either Whole Foods or a small mom & pop bakery. Wish I could be more help with that. 🙈🙈 I’ve been wanting to make a homemade one as well ... do you have a sourdough starter?
@@radiatewithplants7736 it was for me at first too... but it’s actually pretty easy! I’ve made some great sourdough breads at home.. much healthier than store bought (no added sugars or oils) and I can choose the flours I like. However, I often get lazy myself and do love having healthy store bought options for those times! I’ll try and recommend some healthy brands in upcoming videos. 😊😊
Hi, Maddie! The container your have the chickpeas in at the start of the video, is it glass and what is the brand? I’m trying to get away from my plastic containers but, most containers are super short so it’s hard to see the contents when looking down from above, in the fridge. Thanks!!!!
It is! It’s an IKEA one. All my glass ones are IKEA actually because you can mix & match their lids to different bottoms! 😃😃 So convenient. I’ve searched Amazon for similar but never found anything quite as good. If you have an IKEA near you just search their website for glass tupperware and it’ll come up!
@@amyh9554 You’re very welcome! We’ve had some of them for years already and they’ve held up well. Love that they’re dishwasher safe too, although usually I just do the lids by hand. 😄 Enjoy!
You can actually find breads that are made from whole grains, so a lot of WFPB eaters include them. They’re even on Dr. Greger’s daily dozen as an option under whole grains. 😊
I'm all about savory breakfast dishes. Let's be honest, I'm just a huge breakfast girl. I'll eat it whenever 😋 can't wait to try some of these
I'm a huge breakfast girl as well!! 😆😆 So glad you enjoyed! 🤗🤗

I love chickpeas and use them every single week so that was my favorite of the three recipes.
Yay! I love them too! Legit can’t get enough. LOL. I also love kalamata olives so it actually ended up being my favorite too. 😅😅
We have the same snap containers! Awesome recipes ideas too, thanks! 😋

Don't know if it's a Southern thing, but I'd call that chickpea hash. Hash or scramble, it looks delicious!
Haha good point! It is much more like a hash. 😄😄
Can’t wait to try out the chickpea scramble 🤤. By the way where do you buy your whole wheat sourdough?

@@LetsEatPlants Thank you, no I don’t have a sourdough starter. I find the whole sourdough making process intimidating.

This is my favorite sweet potato. Very common in Brazil. Unfortunately hard to find in Canada
Me too! Have you checked Asian markets near you if you have any? That’s where I usually find them!

What will be substitute of tofu or tempeh as a source of protein
You could use seitan, JUSTEgg (vegan egg), vegan sausage or beans 😋😋
Bread is not a whole food. It’s processed food.
