If anyone's interested in diversifying what they have for breakfast, I'd recommend having a look at Indian breakfasts, there is such an abundance of vegan options and even if a dish isn't vegan, it can be easily modified by omitting clarified butter. Additionally, the cuisines across the country are vastly different which automatically provides for numerous breakfast options that are vegan but not necessarily oatmeal or smoothie!!
I’m so glad that all the plant based doctors value hemp, chia, and flax seeds as much as I do they are a MUST for vegans (zinc, iron, omega 3, CALORIES, Etc)
High on my Own Supply. Sucks that you have no evidence for that bc it’s bullshit and not true.. cyanide is present in such small quantities don’t even get me started on the heterocyclic amines, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, heme iron, mammalian estrogen and other hormones, antibiotics, bacteria and endotoxins from immediate rotting of flesh, and UNLIKE seeds which are associated with longevity in every situation, eating animal products has actually been shown to increase risk of chronic diseases especially heart disease and cancer which the WHO already classified as a probable carcinogen
@High on my Own Supply. they arent safe? Why are so many dietitians and doctors and such fine with them then? As for EPA and such, 1) technically some plants do have them. Algae does. You probably just dont eat it as it isnt part of the American or Western diet. It's also in some seeds, nuts, and even some root vegetables. 2) If you're talking to me specifically about my levels, you can just shut up lol. I probably eat more fish than you - way more than average. And marine sources are where you really find it, not meat. Add that with an egg some days and I know I have plenty of all 3 types. While we evolved eating different types of food, every area evolved differently - so plenty of places have mostly meat while others just had veggies/fruit/fish. So I think the way you worded your intro was terrible, with meat but no fish Haha
@High on my Own Supply. Yeah, and chia seeds sold in stores are fine. And while flax needs to be grounded, meat and eggs have to be cooked soooo... (btw, name calling on the lady is unnecessary and just makes you seem stupid. Sorry slightly older people dont look like they're 23?) And no, seafood and meat are generally considered different things. I'm surprised you dont know that. Do you not speak to people usually? Not a diss, just a question. The majority of people will call them different things, and they're usually in 2 different sections.
For a period of 2-3 years I followed a lowcarb meat heavy diet. Thought it was a smart thing to do. But my heart and other organs got poisoned by all the meat, eggs, butter and cheese and I got heart arrythmias and other bodily disfunctions. Most stupid thing I ever did in my life. Now on an almost vegan whole plants diet and I got soooo much better. Thank you for spreading the real truth. There are so many ruthless people on youtube and the internet spreading lies and misinformation on what a healthy diet is for us humans. I am grateful to you guys from the bottom of my heart (literally)!
I did the same thing. Followed a low carb high meat and fat diet combined with OMAD (one meal a day). Did this for about 5-6 years. I thought I was doing my body good. I went in to my doc to have a physical and my blood work came back awful. I was shocked. I've been on a vegan low fat low oil diet for the last three months. I eat mostly vegetables, potatoes, and rice. I've lost 25 lbs in three months. I am flabbergasted.
Thank you both for posting your experiences. It helps to hear what others have gone through. I was not eating strictly low carb...still eating some junk...but I was eating fatty meat, liberal use of butter and practically no veggies. I started getting angina. Did a complete turnaround to WFPB.
I watched the “What the Health” documentary, and now I am switching to a plant based diet. As a nurse I didn’t realize the effects of dairy, meat, and the involvement of of big named companies have on the diets.
Oats is what the poor ate in areas of Europe to bulk up their meals as meats were many times scarse for them. They all knew the most nutritious food was from animals. Everyone used to know this for a fact until now.
looks like lots of anti-vegans got triggered, being threatened by oatmeal and those who follow nutritional advice by actual medical doctors or nutritional experts rather than wannabe doctors AKA chiropractors and other charlatans... so sad, yet also very entertaining at the same time!
@varick wettlaufer I've seen him, looks like a weasel. He gives the worse advice ever citing fake research. Totally bogus. But that's what the populace is meant to believe these days. I will be interesting to see the results in 20 years time.
Oatmeal is just the easiest and so versatile. I sometimes eat mine savoury like an asian rice porridge. with nooch or soy sauce or marmite, topped with leftover vegetables, stir fries. Also, why are people so mean in the comments? So you hate this way of life and eat meat and eggs, do what you want. Why spend time and energy being on this channel? How does that benefit you personally? People are strange.
Sarah Abdul M. Clever Dad. It is rare in the west ! I also do a savory buckwheat porridge. Both my way of making the oat or buckwheat porridges is like a Chinese Congee (or Okayu in Japanese)
It's kinda messed up that some people think being skinny makes you look "sickly and unhealthy" because they're so used to most people being overweight nowadays.
LOVED this!! And, good to know I'm in good company with these docs. Almost every morning, it's oatmeal with berries, 1/2 banana, some nuts, flaxseeds and/or hemp seeds, and/or chia seeds, cinnamon, and a little almond milk. It's so delicious and I feel myself getting healthier as I eat it! Seriously! :)
Sounds great but unfortunately for type 2 diabetics, which about 1/2 in the US are, that breakfast would skyrocket their blood sugar. I love oatmeal and bananas but these are no nos for diabetics due to extremely high carb content. If there was a feasible Vegan Keto diet I have not seen one yet, but the normal Keto diet works VERY well for the Type 2 diabetes that I have. And I have lost 40 pounds since going on it and control my blood sugars off all diabetes meds and going off blood pressure meds with this regimen as well. :)
Instead of tofu (which is a soy product) use a cream cheese substitute. You get a nice smooth taste while basically being able to add anything you want. Veggies to fruit anything goes.

WOW Thanks Prince Khalid of Saudi Arabia owner of Plant based news for this profound vegan news detailing how we can import fruits from halfway across the globe produced by people on slave labour wages even though you eat meat and slaughter it. Makes me feel so good😁😁

@@isabellepizzuto388 not sure about that. Seems lots if Doctors out there now are saying the liver still processes sugars the same way. Whether fructose or a candy bar. So much conflicting info.
No breakfast and I Feel great. Never liked eating a morning meal and feeling sluggish after eating. I eat later and really appreciate my food later in the day.
@@benderfelix1979I agree especially as we get older, been doing intermittent fasting now for nearly six months and on low carb diet and have developed a painful stomach, it’s always making noises and growling, I’ve now put it down to accumulation of too much acid on an empty stomach, so yes I can see how it can cause ulcers.
my breakfast is usually some kind of sweet potato lentil soup (or other potato/bean combo) with a couple handfuls of baby kale or other greens in it. it’s nice to start the day with veggies.
As a Southeast Asian, whose palate is a mix of Indian's and Chinese tongue, I absolutely adore the scrambled tofu for breakfast idea. Thank you so much for this video! I've been vegan for 8 months and there's only so much I can do with same recipes. This is really helpful. Let's do our best in keep our carbon footprint low, our body healthy, and our animal friends safe!
Pancreatitis, diabetes, fatty liver and antinutrients. The best foods are seaweed, nutritional yeast and avocado. * Also jalapeños, cocoa nibs (Wich might be fermented) and oats if were properly prepared.
I LOVE my Dr Gastroenterologist he is the first human being that ever thought me about vegan juicing etc... He cut the benign polyps non cancerous then send me to the wholefood store and even talked to my husband and kids to eat the same thing as me ... Dr. Esselstyn's daughter has a channel called "Jane Essylstyn". She cooks together with her mother and they show their favorite recipes, mostly from the reversal of heart disease cookbook. One episode is called something like "What a family eats for breakfast" or so, which features Dr. Esselstyn, his wife, his daughter +husband and his grandchild. It is a bit over the place and short. But it is nice to see anyway! And besides this chaotic episode it is a great channel altogether :)
So I don’t mean to be rude I’m speaking the truth from what I’ve noticed But I have personally never seen an over weight plant based doctor who promotes a Whole Foods plant based diet But I’ve seen doctors promoting a low carb high fat high animal source protein such as keto or atikins or whatever (pick your poison) who seemed a bit heavier Where as all the vegans always seem slimmer Just speaking from my personal observations
Joseph Ghassan by heavier I meant chubby I know the difference between fat and muscle The doctors I was referring to didn’t look fit They looked puffy and plump I don’t think there’s a muscle under the chin 😂 it’s fat A double chin 💁🏽♀️ The vegan were thinner but not sickly looking at all Those were my observations
@@josephghassan1008 Have you watched "Game Changers", by James Cameron? It shows vegan athletes and, believe me, they are the furthest thing from "skinny as hell". There are MANY vegan body-builders out there! Just google them, you´ll see.
Joseph Ghassan not true at all. I am plant based and my body is naturally thicker. My daughter is also plant based and is at her ideal weight for her height and age. The key is to have an extremely diverse diet so you get every vitamin, nutrient and healthy fats.
I make grits for myself quite often. I grew up with them loaded in butter, but now I put deonjang paste (Korean fermented soybean paste) and some minced garlic, green onion, and Korean chili pepper. So good! Way better than what I grew up with.
How come no one came up with my favorite breakfast? Steamed red potato, carrot, green beans, kale, broccoli, mushroom, onion and zucchini. Throw them into the same steamer in that sequence, a minute or two apart. When just crunchy tender, dump them out onto a cutting board to cool (don't rinse). Arrange a little pile of each in a bowl, put two spoonfuls of some canned beans in the center, and drizzle the whole thing with just a touch of olive oil and vinegar. Pour the cooking liquid in a cup as its an excellent vegetable broth (or tea). Refrigerate the extras for the evening meal. I know this sounds like a big deal but it doesn't take any longer to cook than oatmeal. (However I do seek the comfort of oatmeal & berries once and a while, especially in the winter.) But it seems that this doesn't have the sugar load that some of their recommendations did with 4 or 5 kinds of fruit.
...because not one of these Phd's knows how to make a low glycemic, healthy breakfast like you obviously do.Thank you for sharing some valuable guidance. The only think I would change is I would use sweet potato because of their higher vitamin/mineral content.
@Plant Based News I absolutely love to see vids like this. I'm new to the plant-based lifestyle and am so excited to continue on this healthy journey. This is very encouraging to see Medical Professionals practice what they preach. Thank you for this informative video.😊👍🏽
We used to have a place around town that made vegan food, especially vegan breakfast including scrambled tofu. They'd serve breakfast on the weekend and one lunch per day, as well as cake and coffee. Sadly, they closed a few years back, because the owner had a kid and couldn't keep up with business and raise a kid. I hope she'll find the time to do it again eventually. Right now, my favorite breakfast is a bowl with 1 apple, 1 banana, handful of nuts (hazelnut, walnut, cashew, Brazil nut, oat, sugar free organic cornflakes and sometimes raisins, all drowned in oat milk. :) Keeps me going through 8 hours of teaching.
Love it! It was a revelation to me that I could eat oats with about 4x the fruit I would prior to going plant based (1/2 - 1 cup of berries, 1 whole banana), some molasses and some seeds or a little nut butter - no COTTAGE CHEESE (my old go-to) - and not sugar-crash, AND be satisfied as a person who really prefers savory meals... Hopefully hearing all these docs describe these breakfasts will make more people comfortable loading up on fruit and grain, or no-protein-powder, produce-rich smoothies! AND - glad there are some tofu scramble folks out there... We gotta show the variety and the deliciousness... I also do French toast with ground flax in plant milk (sometimes also a little VeganEgg, I admit), berries warmed with date syrup, and sometimes on the weekend some (not whole food!) Gimme Lean... It's easy, more satisfying and more delicious to eat only plants for breakfast!
I've been eating steel cut oats, berries and chia seeds for the last 18 months. It's the best breakfast I've ever had. Keeps me full and the cost is very reasonable.
Notice how slim they all are! I eat either oats or sorghum porridge with fruit and date syrup, sometimes a smoothie with fresh greens and fruit. I am 82 still working. On weekends, when I have more time, I may have a small omelette or eggs scrambled - use water not milk or cream - with spinach and spices, sliced avocado. Very satisfying and filling!
Oatmeal makes me nauseated...so, I have other grains instead (sans wheat, because I have gluten issues too). So, quinoa, buckwheat, purple/brown rice. Oatmeal is not the only grain to eat for cereal :) chickpea and rice flour are great for pancake/waffles too. OH!! Chia Pudding for breakfast...yummm Great video, thanks Klaus.
Steph Ss - so true! I sometimes have brown rice with maple syrup and coconut milk. It's really yummy 😋 Sometimes l eat it with coconut milk, diced apples and cinnamon to switch it up 👍🏾
I absolutely love ham and eggs. (Im a carnivore don't harass me lol) when I get hungry sometimes I like cooking rice and adding some butter and a teaspoon of brown sugar.
Organic steel cut oats and buckwheat sweetened with bananas and dates. Topped with organic coconut milk, nuts (cashews, almonds, walnuts, and pecans), strawberries, figs, and blueberries. I’ve been eating it every day for two years and I crave it! Some may suggest that things get boring after too long, but not for us! Even our five kids want it every morning!
The vegan diet really isn’t as clear cut as many people try to make it. I went Vegan awhile ago and while I experienced great benefits initially it went downhill and ultimately took a toll on my health. I would not recommend it long term but maybe as a cleanse. I do consider trying it again but I am still recovering. My digestion really didn’t agree with it. Oddly even though the experts were saying the vegan diet would improve my digestion, it didn’t. Once I reintroduced animal products back like eggs and fish I felt so much better it was actually shocking to me at first because I thought how could that be possible with all that I’m learning. I just would be careful and listen to your body. I went for too long hurting my body because I was caught up in listening to the experts vs what my body was telling me. 🙂 I hope this helps someone out there!
We love how these professionals share their breakfast! It’s videos like these we share with others to inform them you’re able to get all your nutrients on a plant-based diet AND it’s ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!
I love this video! It is so great to get so many new ideas for breakfast. Sometimes I get stuck in a breakfast rut and just need some new ideas so this was wonderful. I am usually an oatmeal covered in fruit and flax meal with coffee. =)
Great video!! Kind of confused though as to why some of these doctors are having green smoothies alone without an fats (avocado, hemp seeds etc)..? Many nutrients from greens are fat soluble meaning they are only/best absorbed alongside fats
My favourite vegan dietitian and nutritionist is Sadia Badiei (from the UA-cam channel "Pick Up Limes") - I actually think her advice is even better and more comprehensive than what is shown in this video! :-)
Breakfast for me is one or a combo of these things: -big bowl of multigrain porridge, -a blender full smoothie (48-64oz or 1.5-2 32oz mason jars ) many berries, seeds, nuts, bananas, sea moss and any fruit or green near the point of composting. -Pancakes. -A yeast free bread with green and avocado mash.
What about doctors outside U.S. ? There is huge variety across porridges. Cream of wheat, cream of rice porridges, Millets, steel cut oats, buckwheat, corn porridge, in Central Asia and Eastern Europe these would be a huge morning feast. Semolina or cream of wheat is what the kids especcially remember in kindergardens made fresh each morning.
I don't know why.. but i'm in tears that so many VEGAN doctors are there. We need more more more vegans in these kind of positions. Aah, feelings so grateful.
My dad and I (he’s 86 and I’m 61) both love oatmeal for breakfast, except that he always has instant oatmeal (the only time he’ll use the microwave) topped with a spoonful of blueberry jam, I eat breakfast at work because I go straight to my job after my morning swim at the local pool, I keep a plastic container of regular oats at my desk, along with hemp seeds, ground flaxseed and cinnamon. I keep almond milk and frozen blueberries in the lounge refrigerator, I just eat them “raw” in a bowl topped with all those ingredients, never tire of it! On weekends and holidays when I’m home I have a smoothie or egg dish for variety, but dad has his oats 7 days a week. We love our oatmeal!
My fav breakfast is the raw cereal bowl that Kate flower makes but I Use soy milk instead of banana milk. Apple bananas nuts raisins soooo good and a little granola 😋
I'm loving oatmeal tsampa for breakfast. It consist of steel cut oats roasted barley flour made fresh, freshly ground flax seeds and oat milk and almond flour. It lowers my blood pressure so much its amazing cuz I have high blood pressure and it taste great 😃
When sis said she would make some grits with nutritional yeast and jalapeños I was like “Girl, you betta day that!!” Everyone loves cheesy grits!!!! Signed, The South #gritsareBOMB 😋 #vegancheesygrits
I loved this so much, great ideas here! I love how Dr. Ess's breakfast is the simplest and easiest with not so many ingredients. Most people can do oatmeal and fruit, that's what my husband eats every day. I love variety, like sweet potatoes, savory oats and whole wheat bagel from Trader Joe's.
I really enjoy oatmeal, but my favorite breakfast is a sweet potato or kabocha squash berry bowl with oat milk and a little bit if nuts and granola on top with cinnamon.
If there is anyone here who is vegan just because of health reasons, please seriously look into the moral reasons. Health and the environment may be sufficient reasons, but they are far from the most compelling. Cosmic skeptic's channel is a good place to start.
What moral standard can you judge a human by except your own opinion? Who is to say what is right or wrong when everyone has their own idea of what that is.
I'm not a moral realist either. (If it's safe to assume that of you). Nevertheless, I think we share the same essential "opinions". We both think murder is wrong. That rape is wrong. That theft is wrong. And so on. If you analyse the principle that guides you to all of these conclusions, I think you will find that it leads you inevitably to the conclusion that it is not only humans that belong in the moral sphere. And I think if you are honest, you will pursue logical consistency in this matter and see that not doing so is no different than believing the sun rises in the south and sets in the north on Sundays and believing it rises in the west sets in the east on Mondays.
@@dylanrichardson199 I would argue this entire belief system(veganism) is based on a religious world view. Judaic/Christian/Islamic. Religious people believe everyone has intrinsic value, we deserve respect, so on and so on. Vegans mostly live among people of this particular world view so they think somehow since humans have value we should also assume animals have value. In reality when you look at satellite picture of earth from a long distance we are nothing but a speck of dust. Utterly worthless and nothing we do matters. We have no value and no one is worth anything. In fact most humans would off other human beings given the chance, so why do you think animals are so worthy? Go to a tribe in the middle of a jungle and ask them how they feel. Without a religious moral framework such as the belief in a Creator that endowed humans with inherent value, it’s meaningless. Veganism is a religion.
@UCeBG58pwoTl8G8sD2QyR74AThere really is no logic behind what you are saying. Subjective morality is an oxymoron. Morality doesn’t exist. Only social contracts, between consenting individuals. Nature doesn’t ask for consent. It’s like you truly believe animals have worth just because some humans think they have worth. Atheistically speaking, nothing has inherent worth and everything is only as valuable as one personally determines. There is no rational basis behind this. Just admit it.
@@seektruth581 "everything is only as valuable as one determines it" is basically the definition of moral subjectivism. I think you are mixing it up with moral objectivism (i.e. moral realism), which I would agree is an oxymoron. On the other hand, you may be a Moral Nihilist, who doesn't claim to feel or abide by moral compunctions at all. Claiming that "most humans would off other human beings given the chance" certainly supports that. This idea embodies the parody of atheists that fervently religious people make. But I doubt that you are a moral nihilist, that you would kill your own mother for your inheritance if you could get away with it. This is just semantics, but it's good to be sure we can understand each other.
I eat the same thing every day because I love it so much! Müesli (rolled oats, sunflower seeds, raisins), chia seeds, pepitas, walnuts, goji berries, gooseberries, dried pomegranate seeds, amla powder, beet powder, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, turmeric, cardamom, anis seeds. And two tablespoons of ground flaxseed. With unsweetened soy milk.

Someday’s whole grain cereal! With a big fruit smoothie! But I’m struggling for Dino or ordering in restaurants! Besides salads
Any comments on the high antinutrient content of this diet? They inhibit the absorbiton of most of the vitamins consumed and damage the liver and intestines. I'm vegetarian. I feel so confused about what I should eat. I feel like no body knows what is actually healthy. We're all just guessing. We will always have a new answer in the future.
lolsaXx Yeah that’s what my issues was with oats. Weren’t doing me any good. And everyone was telling me to eat more carbs instead of mainly vegetables. Tried that and my health got worse. It’s incredibly difficult for everyone to follow the same diet. Didn’t work for me.
Just make sure that you soak all your nuts for several hours before you eat them (the only ones that don´t need soaking are pumpkin seeds), and do the same with any grains and legumes (like brown rice, beans, quinoa, etc.). My liver and intestines (and kidneys, actually) fully healed after just over 3 months of going vegan... I had to do a lot of research before I started, but it was so worth it. This is a great source out there information-wise if you want to have a look: the book "Becoming Vegan: The Complete Reference to Plant-Base Nutrition, Comprehensive Edition".
I'm approaching my 6th year on plant based living, and like many of the doctors interviewed, I find oatmeal to be the easy solution. By itself it's plain and boring... But once you start switching up the fruit, nuts, seeds, and spice combinations, it becomes far from boring.
Loved this! Fell off the vegan wagon for eggs but after hearing Dr. Klaper's theory of acquired dependency, I realized that was a "supplemental moment" and now I'm back on my vegan lifestyle. Needed to see this to kick start my new game. Thanks!
@The V word My story: I went vegan to save my life. I was literally dying and doctors had failed for 10 years. Vegan diet was miraculous for my health! But after 2 years vegan, I began to crave eggs like mad! Fought it for one whole year! Ate eggs with runny yoke & felt healed at the table. Felt like I had failed the vegan lifestyle & was attacked by vegans for it. Felt unwelcome so left the culture. Tried meat 3 times over 6 months and became flu-like sick after each. Jump ahead 7 months later... I'm practicing Konmari during spring cleaning. It's great. My counselor recommended I Konmari my food... Genius! Guess what?! Abandoned by the vegan culture, failed at the perfect diet and still - plants "spark joy" in me. So while many aspects of veganism may seem cult-like, as does any passionate & tight community, I can assure you, my choice to be vegan is because it is the most healthy thing I can do for my body. I'm proud that my choices don't harm others and it is purely because I choose, of my own free will, to do what sparks joy in me that I am vegan. I do not, have not & never will unite with mean vegan bullies because they spark joy in no one. I am not part of a cult. My counselor is not vegan but totally supports the positive affects of a vegan lifestyle she sees in me. My doctor went vegan after seeing my health results, and now teaches the plant based medicine program I used to teach. We do not force ir bully anyone into veganism. We show the science data of food & health and allow people to make their own choices. We don't even use the word "vegan." A few thousand people in our community are alive now due that class & to living a vegan or close-to a vegan lifestyle. But thanks for your concern. Much appreciated. Perhaps, I may offer you the Konmari method to try in your own life. Honor thyself. Peace to you:)
The V word All the vitamins and minerals you mentioned you can easily get from a plant based diet. You’re just afraid the vegan movement is getting larger and that your meat cult is dying off
@The V word By what authority should we listen to you?? I suppose you are like a Dr. Berg on here who advocates, Bacon/eggs and steak for breakfast!!?? How about a double martini to wash everything down?? Stop with your LIES
I love this shake for breakfast: 30 Gr of soaked almonds or other nuts, 30 Gr of oats or millet flakes, 1 tablespoon each of hemp and flax seeds, 2 dates, 1 banana, some salt and vanilla and 3-4 dl of (coconut-)water. Shake it. It’s very yummie and get´s you through the whole morning.
My oatmeal of rolled oats starts first with about half a banana chopped and added to the oatmeal and water mix. After 3 minutes in the microwave the banana softens or melts and adds sweetness. I use extra water so it doesn't come out nice and thick and ready to eat at that point, but slightly soupy. And that is remedied by the addition of a thickening mixture of 2 heaping tablespoons of a chia seed and ground flax seed mix. Also add cinnamon, crumbled walnut or two, berries of mostly blueberry and strawberry, more banana, and soy or almond milk. So satisfying. I've tried raspberries and know they're healthy, but just can't acquire a long term taste for them. I noticed a number of doctors here and in other videos prefer rolled oats instead of supposedly more healthy steel cut oats and I think I know why. First, the old fashion rolled oats much easier and faster to cook. Second, I've seen blood sugar tests on steel cut vs rolled, vs quick 1-minute, vs instant. The gap between steel cut and old fashioned is relatively small, but the gap between those two and the more processed versions is much wider.
Now I know! Vegan as of yesterday. After the Joe Rogan vs vegansim this past week after his podcast with meat a eating strongman. I did my research. Reviewed the studies. Turns out this is in fact the way to go!
My rake of plant based breakfasts is usually oatmeal with seeds, fruit and ORAC (antioxidant) rich spices (e.g. cinnamon, cardamom, cumin, allspice, cloves, ginger, turmeric, black pepper). It is hard to realise at first but oatmeal can be vastly varied. It could be sweet or savoury. Oatmeal eaten with lentils in tomato sauce is a very simple, cheap, nutritional and tasty breakfast which also gives a more satisfying protein boost. If I don't have oatmeal I will have a smoothie blended with both fruit and vegetables (e.g. carrot, celery, broccoli, kale). I almost lways add lemon, spices and ground flaxseeds to my smoothies. Sometimes I add oats for grains, or beans for protein. I try rotate between smoothies of green, yellow/orange, pink colours and antioxidant groups each time, just for variation.
Weekdays: 32 oz Green Smoothie Weekends: Southwest tofu scramble in homemade chickpea flour flatbread and roasted sweet potato home fries, or Chocolate Spelt Waffles & Berries
Oats are quite the superfood! Something I never appreciated until I switched to a whole food plant diet this year. I eat them almost every morning and I also make all kinds of treats with them.
BEST breakfast - after 10am and there is a salad of broccoli cabbage beetroot a little bit of garlic blackberries spinach black pepper olive oil! Also some bread of whole flour. NO SUGAR OR FRUCTOSE in morning! P.S. oatmeal from a store is completely zero for health benefits and we have been making oatmeal jelly for a long time - boil oat seeds in water - very healthy drink!
My a-ha moment was finding out I can cook my oatmeal in the microwave--even steel cut oats. The key is to make a single serving but put it in a huge bowl with deep sides to avoid boil over. Steel cut I cook 10 minutes. Old fashioned I cook 4 minutes.
@The V word gosh, I don't know whether it's your anger rendering you blind or whether it's sheer fallacy. Do me the favor and get your comparisons right. Either compare industrial animal agriculture and industrial plant agriculture or small-scale organic farms cultivating animals or plants. In both scenarios use of land, impact on the environment and number of animal deaths are in favor of plant farming.
@@starvetheegofeedthesoul9072 wrong pastured animal husbandry is actually beneficial to the land, and suffers the least amount of deaths...You can get around 1300 meals from one cow, or one bowl of rice is responsible for hundreds of thousands of animal deaths along with serious environment hazards
It definitely helps you lose weight. Just be careful with the fats. The best book is Dr.Mcdougall Starch solution. I lost 25lbs eating tons of food that he recommends. Mostly starches and vegetables plus some fruit. Good luck to you!
I also do overnight oats with oatmilk, dried fruit, and the big three seeds: ground flax, chia, and hemp hearts. I have started adding those three to my apple-banana-kale smoothies, too
Haha, I used to have oat milk with my oats too, until i looked at the ingredients on the oat milk (oats, water)... so yeah... if you make porridge with water it literally tastes the same.
I eat either oatmeal or a smoothie every day for breakfast. Sometimes I want to try something different. When I saw this video I was excited to hear some other healthy options,..and then almost everyone said oats or a smoothie! At least I validated my healthy breakfast choices.

@High on my Own Supply. those nutrients can be more bioavaliable than from meats if consumed with Vit C. So why worry about it?
@High on my Own Supply. okay you obviously dont care about health research so just go on dude

I always eat oatmeal with fruit for breakfast
Nathan what's amazing is nobody talks about glyphosate's in their oatmeal.
@@daveforgot127 imma be dead honest, I have no idea what that means
@@daveforgot127 nvm just googled it, oatmeals gonna kill me😂jkjk

Get steel cut oats. Supposedly the best/healthiest kind.
As a fellow southerner, I second the grits!
Matthew Davis I love grits but never think to make them. Maybe I should set them out the night before.
grits are so gross
Yes! Grits from a South Carolina vegan!!

I actually eat eggs’ pizza! For years and eggs eve! I’m new here starting plant based! I gave up everything! I make hot oatmeal almost everyday! Walnuts! Chia seeds ! Blueberry! Flex too!
@@annae.9006 Thank you!
Thanks!
Good for you yay 👏👏👏
We don't even use the word "vegan."
A few thousand people in our community are alive now due that class & to living a vegan or close-to a vegan lifestyle.
Thanks!
Too much sugar
I absolutely love oatmeal with blueberries or breakfast!
Oatmeal and berries every morning
The gap between steel cut and old fashioned is relatively small, but the gap between those two and the more processed versions is much wider.
sounds great tbf :)
I've been on a no meat, no starch, no dairy diet & the old fashioned oatmeal been helping me stay full ...
Avocado toast on whole grain bread and a smoothie
Thank you for the suggestions for breakfast.. I’m a newbie to plant base so these are awesome. Thanks again..
I try rotate between smoothies of green, yellow/orange, pink colours and antioxidant groups each time, just for variation.
sounds awesome

Oats are quite the superfood! Something I never appreciated until I switched to a whole food plant diet this year. I eat them almost every morning and I also make all kinds of treats with them.
This is so wholesome and makes me so happy.
Oats is amazing with banana, berries and seeds 😁😁. Yummy
A warm creamy bowl of oatmeal is the best thing after chocolate to me 🤤🤤
Add 100% dark cocoa powder next time. ;) Give yourself a couple of bowls to get used to it since it's going to taste VERY bitter at first.
And add some chocolate to it! Then it melts in the oatmeal and NOM NOM NOM 🤤
The best breakfast options for humans possible! Keep up the good work, you plant-based pioneers! :)

Will plantbase help with weight loss? I’m really wanting to get off all of my medications. Any book I can buy. Thanks
It definitely helps you lose weight. Just be careful with the fats. The best book is Dr.Mcdougall Starch solution. I lost 25lbs eating tons of food that he recommends. Mostly starches and vegetables plus some fruit. Good luck to you!
Tammy thanks for the information I will look into that book 📚. 👍🏼
I also do overnight oats with oatmilk, dried fruit, and the big three seeds: ground flax, chia, and hemp hearts. I have started adding those three to my apple-banana-kale smoothies, too
God I LOVE these doctorsss!!!!!!! Live on! ☺️☺️✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
Haha, I used to have oat milk with my oats too, until i looked at the ingredients on the oat milk (oats, water)... so yeah... if you make porridge with water it literally tastes the same.

A.Y. Greyson whats unhealthy about them?
I eat either oatmeal or a smoothie every day for breakfast. Sometimes I want to try something different. When I saw this video I was excited to hear some other healthy options,..and then almost everyone said oats or a smoothie! At least I validated my healthy breakfast choices.
