  • Glucose Goddess reveals breakfast tips and how to change the way you eat for good. GLUCOSE GODDESS: Are you a martyr to mood swings, brain fog and outbursts of irrational anxiety? Do you drop into bed at night feeling exhausted but unable to sleep? Perhaps you have just become accustomed to feeling under par, and you've learned to rely on coffee and sugary snacks to keep you functioning. But what you probably won't have done is traced these symptoms back to what you ate for breakfast. And no wonder - because we don't instantly feel the effect. Metabolic processes take hours to unfold, compound over time and become mixed with all the other things that happen in a day, so connecting the dots takes a bit of detective work. As a biochemist, I have long been fascinated by the impact fluctuating blood sugar levels can have on our health and mood, but it was only when I started measuring my own blood glucose levels using a continuous glucose monitor (which reads glucose levels in the blood through a very thin wire piercing the skin on the upper arm) that I made the connection between what I ate for breakfast and how I felt throughout the rest of the day.

I have not heard of some of these techniques before. Very interesting. However, the battled test one that I do is have that protein based breakfast (usually after 12-16 hrs of intermittent fasting). I used to have a ferocious appetite all day, now I can go up to 6-7 hrs before eating again. As a result, way less heartburn, bloating, better energy, and of course, less unwanted weight gain.

  • @JamieZarrr

It's pretty clear that Jessie doesn't love a sweet breakfast as much as many of us do. I start my day by drinking a big glass of water (400ml) with 1 spoonful of vinegar. Then, one of my usual breakfast starts with a really thin rye bread toast with guacamole/avocado and a boiled egg. Then, I have a "protein porridge" which includes oats, whole milk, whey protein, forest fruits, soaked chia seeds, walnuts, and cinnamon. Finally, I have a small milk coffee (no sugar of course, as the milk gives it a taste that is sweet enough). I don't think my breakfast is doing anything wrong to my glucose levels.

I am a sugar junky and have many cravings. But for being 66, I don’t have wrinkles I use to have lots of energy and could keep busy all day long. I have 7 children, my husband and I have run our own business for 28 years, plenty of stress. Plus we will be married for 50 years as of 5/26/2023. No one can believe my age or the energy I have. I have always kept myself busy. Except for being diagnosed with brain cancer in 12/2022 which really hit my family hard. My husband started doing research that can help cure me. He found the keto way of eating, and we found you.
My cravings are terrible, unfortunately I’m on steroids to reduce swelling in my brain but it makes me hungry, I also wake up during the night to eat cereal which I know is bad. I need an alternate snack. I was thinking of a protein alternative. Any help ?

Hi. If you want to give your immune system the best chance of fighting your cancer, then you MUST eliminate ALL sugar from your diet. Cancer feeds off sugar, so you can starve your cancer cells if you remove sugar from your diet. Also, sugar as glucose competes with Vitamin C for priority in your body, and if both are present, your body will always prioritize your glucose as sugar, as glucose is the most important fuel source for your body. However, in your case, with a significantly weakened immune system, increasing your Vitamin C levels will not only boost your immune system, but removing sugar from your diet will also weaken your Cancer. I suggest Organic green vegetables for the best source of Vitamin C, and I wish you a full recovery.

I dont care if people argue this drinking vineager isnt going to lower your blood sugar or reduce the amount of glucose spikes from that meal. It is vinegar. I eat 2 eggs ,non pasteurised cheese and organic rye bread for breakfast and I 'm fine for at least 5 hours, so yes that kind of breaworks wonders for me, unlike the typical french one(I'm French by the way)

Sooo gluten mama, Im just recapping on some progress here.
    1. I learned that I don't delute my vinegar enough. I'll be doing that for now on.
    2. "Sugar in the raw" technically isn't raw because it goes through it's own cooking process making it refined. And just a different way to process sugar without the fiber or traces of vitamins and minerals.
    3. Sugar is an endocrine disrupter effecting hormone release of insulin. Like I knew part of it but now it's a solid process in my memory. Lol
Aaaaand, lately! I love this channel. I don't care if your content is highly processed or not. I still love how you try to help us. Lol! You must have one heck of a lightning team or editor. 🙈

Okay but as a molecular biologist, I’m working on cardiovascular research. For healthy individuals, with no history of diabetes or high blood pressure, we shouldn’t treat blood sugar spikes as an enemy, your body is meant to function like this, have a spike, go for a run, do exercise etc
But this marketing of having a routine that might make you unhappy just because you are worried about blood sugar and making sugar itself an enemy is so dangerous and should ironically be taken with a pinch of salt.
