Concurrent player counts, sales versus other games, etc.? - Thoughts on The Surge? - Thoughts on Salt and Sanctuary? - Coverage of Lies of P? - From a lore perspective, what would DS4 even be as the cycle of the world has ended basically, no? In other words, a video that extinguishes the flame of hope for a DS4 from a lore perspective?
I have found my fix: I just want more of more or less the same (more DS1, DS3, Bloodborne, Elden Ring). But I agree. An Elden Ring 2 ... I can't see how they would do that without being too similar. Maybe theyre going for huge DLC/expansions within the same world they already created. On the other hand, I can't see FromSoft just leaving a huge success like Elden Ring. They have to take advantage of the momentum they have with 20 mill+ sold copies. But it has been a long time now since the main game came out. people might forget and move on. Therefore we need the DLC soon. From what I have read and can see it seems like, as I said, that Elden Ring will be expanded upon with massive DLCs from time to time.
Perhaps they will move on to developing something with "Souls-like" mechanics in a open ocean or space setting, if they want to try to "one-up' Elden Ring's scope. I would still like to see them scale back and make more slightly less ambitious games too though! I also wonder if Hidetaka Miyazaki will retire from directing games after Elden Ring's DLC is finished, especially if it is, as you speculated, his grand culmination of all the games he's directed thus far.

Oddly I don't want more ER in ER when it comes to bosses and open world

My fear is that we wont get anymore Souls from Fromsoftware after the DLC
After the success of Elden Ring, Bandai Namco or Sony will do everything they can to get more Soulslike content out of FromSoftware.
