It's actually smart how they put the dodge behind ( in p-organ) because u need to learn how to perry , guard early in the game. So now I get why they did what they did having the dodge get unlocked in the skill tree.
I have noticed a lot of people have had problems with motivity builds and I did at first as well. Then I realized that it is more suited for a block, parry, punish play style and with such a high damage reduction after 1 maybe 2 pokes u can recover all of ur rally health pretty easily. So i would block and parry until I had a good opening then throw my poke out maybe 2 and if u get a really good chance charge attack. Now when they r ready to be staggered I throw the shot put which instantly staggers them so I didn’t have to risk being knocked outta my attack. Boom rinse and repeat. That strategy for me was easier than my dex build.
I'm up to the last boss and I agree, this game is incredible and, for me, up there will all of the Souls games (I actually like it more than those), damn near up to ER, Sekiro and BB. I was not expecting this at all, frankly, the demo felt clunky at first and the puppet theme felt sort of contrived. Boy did they move past that, and quickly. I do think the game is linear because it is much more overtly story-focused than the From games, but I do think a couple DLCs allowing you to explore off the beaten path would be highly welcome.
Yeah I though the demo sucked! I took a chance from what I was hearing and picked it up. I'm loving it. It gets very frustrating at times with some of the fights. U need some poise in this game if u hit your heavy attack or light attack u should still land some of the attack, but u don't, u get hit out of the attack. That isn't fair
@@brentontariocanada7935yeah, it's really focused on timing. When I get their health bar white, I usually throw a shot put at them for an immediate stagger, otherwise it's uncertain if you can heavy attack in time.
I finally caved. When you mentioned you didn’t like Sekiro but enjoyed this, I bought Lies of P. I didn’t like Sekiro, either. I have a good feeling that I will enjoy this game a lot!
So far my list of my favorite games of the year 1. Lies of p 2. Armor core 6 3. Hogwarts legacy Im probably going to get lord of the fallen and that has potential to be my game of the year . But we will see. Lies of p might end up being my game of the year maybe.
I personally find the first of black rabbit brotherhood fights to be fair because the eldest becomes relatively passive when another rabbit is on the battlefield only occasionally doing a dash attack towards the player periodically. I beat the boss relatively quickly on my level 10 run and it still felt fair because I could fish for backstabs against the npc enemies and the move set of the eldest is fun and satisfying to dodge and parry. Just stay as far from the eldest as you can and let the faster enemy run towards you and then the eldest will never go for any of his more dangerous moves.
The review was good all the way up until you said you don't know the story. The story was by far one of the best parts of the game and also the reason your character looks the way they do, it was the whole point. Watching P become human and his hair changing to show that was a huge part of the game.
I understand, but I play these kinds of games for a story. That is not because the stories are bad, it is just how I enjoy these games. I play these games for the fun gameplay experience, and never have played them for the stories. I enjoy the game never holding my hand, and I enjoy having the freedom to navigate through the levels, and play through them at my own pace, with whatever weapons or builds I want, and with no restrictions. All of my favorite games are like this. I never engage with the stories because that's not what I'm here for. The story could be S tier for all I know, but I'm not going to engage with it.
@ChaosSoulYT I respect that and I don't fault you for not caring about the story. In this instance I can tell you from someone who has played and beat all 3 dark souls games, bloodborne, sekiro, and elden ring. the one thing this game does differently from pretty much all of those is having a very cohesive story and it is the main focus of the game outside of the gameplay of course.
@@ChaosSoulYT I can understand that, but when right after you comment that you should be able to customize your character... well no, the story is the reason you can't customize your character. That's the whole point of the thing, so it's definitely not a fair critic haha I mean, the character P is based on is basically everywhere in the game after all
@@ChaosSoulYT I agree with the OP I was onboard with your review up until you said that and in this comment you say "the story could be S tier but I'm not gonna engage with it" it's honestly so ignorant it's insane. Like you ask for 2 things which will be in direct contradiction with the storyline: DLC in the middle of the campaign, and character creation/customization. At this point you're just asking for a different game and it's not really a criticism, I would prefer more open areas like Dark Souls or ER but they didn't set out to do that in this game so how can you complain about it. Also if you remove the linearity you ruin pacing of the boss difficulty which is something ER suffers from massively. I disagree that they should add magic at all honestly it doesn't fit the combat style and I disagree they should make the parry window bigger, your parry continues into a block which gives you regain if you attack it's literally already OP, the game isn't sekiro you don't need to perfect parry everything. Appreciate the high effort review tho.
I agree. this game is polished on it own way. some people start the game think that they beat other souls games and do thing like they do in the other souls games as result it not work well then they said Sekiro is better at parry or Bloodbrone is better at dodge but they forget the fact that they are playing Lies of P and it has it own mechanic to learn. ofc this game not perfect but it deserve more positive outcome. thanks you for saying what I think in this video
Just so you know, from what i noticed with the eldest brother after doing the fight in ng+, he will only get in the mix if you get too close to him. Like the game wants you to focus on one of the other family member that's on the field until they back off and you can continue just fighting the eldest. Except for the one running attack he does of course that you mentioned. It seemed like if i fought the other guys further away from him, he doesn't bother you. But the 2nd encounter doesn't do a good enough job splitting aggro in my opinion.
I would say minibosses have pretty absurd amount of health in this game. In something like Elden Ring you can kill big enemies in like five hits in STR build (without double weapon jump attack spam even). Also animations are pretty robust and lack fluidity and frames that From are famous for.
Yes but just a little, if fromsoft games are perfect in this, Lies of P is excelent. Most fromsoft games offer you easy ways to cheese minibosses, but here need to fight the hard and only way to defeat them.
Lies of P is a masterpiece! Its condensed and designed well. On your NG+ there's perfect amount of time you go through levels for next boss fight. And boss fights are amazing! And that includes BRB - i had blast fighting them both times, plus that thing with coffin in the second fight got me good))
I have to hard disagree with your opinion on black rabbits, but I've seen people just try to bruteforce the big guy or one at a time without realizing it. In the first fight, when assistance comes the Big Brother will lower his aggression MASSIVELY. He will stay back and only ocassionally do a charge attack with a loud audio cue. Of course, if you try to ignore this and rush him anyway, his attack patterns will be the same. Which is probably where your feelings that "these enemies are clearly different bosses with no consideration of what would happen if mashed together" comes from. Its just objectively wrong, because neowitz DID adjust the enemies specifically to work together and will push back if you try to ignore it. Same for the second fight too, only one of the rabbits will rush you at a time while the siblings only provide support with loud audio queues. The only difference is in the final phase, where Big Brother will bull full tilt the entire time. So the idea is you have all the siblings dead before big bro comes out. Which is simple health bar management.
As a souls vet I was honestly a bit apprehensive about this game before it came out. But it definitely blew me away. Not perfect for sure but refreshing and definitely on par with other souls games.
Im glad you touched on the "perfect" thing. It always annoys me when I see people refer to ER or DS1 as a "flawed masterpiece", or always feel the need to follow it up with "but it isn't perfect." Well.... duh....of course they aren't. Nothing is. The day someone makes a perfect game is the day I quit gaming. What is the point if nothing else is going to measure up? I feel like some people, reviewers especially, get caught in this trap of over-exaggerating flaws, or at least spending too much time focusing on them because they are afraid if they give a game too much praise they will somehow lose credibility. I find it all quite annoying.
Can you believe that there were people, weapons and like attacks there borrowing too much from other games lmao. Sorry, you completely lost me when you said they have very creative weapons like a fire axe I've never heard of one of those before.
@27:23 you're really robbing yourself of the experience playing without sound, IMO. The sound design and music of this game are absolutely incredible. Particularly when wearing headphones, they do some really cool stuff with spacial ambience. The second time at the train station, distant sounds of ominous clanking machinery and occasional blood-curdling screams coming from far off enough you might miss it without headphones... Truly spooky atmosphere.
Havent gotten to the second black rabbit brotherhood fight - I really liked the first one. Never had a problem paying attention to the main brother when there was another one in play, just had to listen since he makes a lot of noise before attacking from off screen. Not saying it was easy mind you, just that it did feel fair to me.
Yeah, ChaosSoul did say that he would play with sound off sometimes, so I imagine not being to hear the big brother rushing in to attack would be quite the detriment. Also, he appears to have not picked up on the fact the passive enemies will only fully attack if you are within a certain radius. So, if you just keep distance between you and the passive enemy, they will only do one weak attack periodically instead of the full move set. If you attack while they are grouped up, they will tear you apart.
Scaling works the same in dark souls. The idea is when ur still low level u focus on one stat and then as you get stronger and you can spare levels on other damaging stats, like in ng+, you can do more damage. Its like that in elden ring & dark souls 3 as well. Scaling in more than one stat is almost always superior to an s scaling in one stat. It makes sense now that i have 100 in both technique & motivity, putting a motivity crank on my two dragon sword (which makes it scale C in both motivity & technique) improves its damage dramatically!
LOP is better than other souls games because it’s “linear.” You don’t waste 1/3rd of your time wandering around aimlesssly, and another 1/3rd on Google. You can just play the game.
I really liked it up through the cathedral. Tedious balancing while getting gunk thrown at you and trying to dodge electric balls that will 99% of the time hit you, was just not fun. I did that run back so many times I finally just quit.
That was a pretty tedious section. But if you would've stuck with it,you would've unlocked a shortcut that made that runback null and void. That area got better after that
If you enjoyed Lies of P, you should definitely give Sekiro another chance. Similarly to Lies of P, it does take a bit for the combat differences to "click" (especially since Sekiro emphasizes parrying then throws Chain Ogre at you, a boss you should not focus on parrying), but once it does, it has some of the most satisfying bosses to fight in any souls game.
I think many souls players have been clamoring for a bloodborne sequel that any game which even remotely resembles it becomes a good game automatically. There are definitely good elements in Lies of P but this is a farcry from 'the best souls like ever' as people have been calling it. The story, the environment, the voice acting, sound that really sets the mood. But Round 8 took many elements from Fromsoft without really understanding what made those elements great in the first place. I always believe that making a good souls like is like making a good hot sauce. You can crank up the heat as much as you want but if it doesn't have any flavors, its bad. They took parry system from sekiro. Cool. But they forgot the parry in sekiro has a rhythm to it. Genichero teaches you that rhythm and from that point you fall in love with it. Lies of P has no set rhythm to it. Sometimes you have to press guard right at the moment of attack and sometimes before the attack to have a perfect guard. Also there is no indications as to when the enemy will become groggy. Moreover in sekiro as the boss starts to loose health, it becomes easier to break it's posture. Also this game, even though it has its fare share of dex and strength weapons, it has no concept of poise whatsoever. I have situation where a normal enemy took a heavy charge attack from my hammer and still manages to hit me 😂. Level design is as linear as it can be. Like its not even 5 percent of DS3 or BB. And boy don't start me on the health pool of enemies. With fully upgraded weapons it's taking me 3- 4 hits to kill enemies. But I will give them credit for great number of enemy types. Atleast they didn't make a game with 15 enemy types like wolong. And the studio love their two full health bar boss fight. This is just lame design to make a game difficult. Elden Ring is 4 to 5 times the size of Lies of P. Yet Malenia was the only boss which has two full health bar. Rykard doesn't count as it's a gimmick fight. I have seen people make boss guide where they a using canisters and grenades to win the late game bosses, that's just proof of bad design. At the end, as a fan of souls game to all the companies trying to be Fromsoft is that, come up with your own unique style of game design and amaze us rather than trying to mimic the elements from Fromsoft. Because the more you are busy copying the less you are creating.
You are right, why do we judge a smaller company that hasn’t had the 14 years of experience, feedback, critiques etc… Although the dev and neowiz have inspiration, this is their first soulslike game and i think they’ve done great. But really, if you do enjoy the combat and story in this game give sekiro a go, if it’s the atmosphere and lore, bloodborne. Think of it as the demon souls of neowiz (the foundation, the granddaddy, the og) if the dev capitalises on the souls genre and builds off of it we just might see some really f’n good games (which in turn creates a competitive nature between companies, giving us better games)
It was alright, felt like I just wanted it to end towards the last third. No desire to go through it again unlike the Souls games where I feel like the replayability is almost instant. Still it's nice that it got a good reception from a majority of people.
I think the bigger argument is the lack of poise is why Motivity builds are weaker. You can be interrupted from a heavy attack every single time, so you lose your window to attack. Quite a few of these bosses are coded for input reading, and once they see you attack they throw a small jab at you to interrupt your attack. Its why they had to add a form of hyperarmour when you used the "blue attacks" ( for the life of me I can't think of the actual term, but its the special weapon attacks). You could be winding one of them up, and then be completely knocked out of that animation from a small jab while also losing that resource. I swapped to an advanced build and beat the game with it. The large weapons in the game are just too slow for not having any poise to trade blows with. A mix of Motivity and Dexterity is the way to go if you want to use more than just 3 weapons in the game.
I thought motivity builds were weak at first because the poise was basically non existent which is my only real gripe I had with the game. Then I realized that strength build was a lot better to use as a punish build where u block and parry and their attack is strong enough to when I finally get ur opening 1 or two hits u recover your rally health completely almost. And having such a high Block percentage allows that playstyle.
"there should be a magic-style playstyle" This might be a bit of a cope, but I think the amount of investment you can go for regarding throwable items is essentially DS1 sorcery spam. Definitely will look into it myself for a future playthrough.
Maybe I’m crazy but I prefer linear games where I don’t need to look up guides 247. I hate getting lost and not knowing where to go or what to do. It’s a very demotivating thing for me.
I've just come to the conclusion people generally like to saddle up and ride FromSoft when they see anything remotely close to a Souls-like experience 🤷🏾♂️, also forgetting they don't make flawless games and others like Nioh do things such as combat infinitely better but at the same time the level design isn't as good as Bloodborne they can all coexist without trying to hate or downplay another 💯. This game immediately became one of my favorite souls-likes i've evr played and its because of how different it is comapred to most others 🙏🏾.
i have played the game for nearly 40hours finished it last night i have to say something that it might sound nerd but i dont care as a veteran soulsborne player and particularly i loved sekiro which i considering it if not the best game (for me) one of the best on Lies of P post chapter 7 all i saw was ambushes, minor enemies with irrelevant flurry attack pattern and basicly all i am saying is that, post chap 7 the game became significantly harder but it does not rewarding equally all boss fights were IMPECCABLE and i had zero issues and i never felt an unfair disadvantage but when it comes to certain areas/stages, i was questioning myself over and over "why the fuck do i play this game" for real some areas are so fucking HORRENDOUS, full of enemies in groups of 3-4 and its getting a little bit tiring to deal with all those "decisions" post chapter 7 game is great, it plays smooth and flawlessly (played on pc 1440p/240fps) story wise is unique the soundtracks are awesome the dialogues are quite good for a "soulslike" game but yeah the game is becoming a little bit tiring post chapter 7 and it does not rewarding equally of the difficulty
The areas in the second half of the game are definitely... different, however I wouldn't say they are that out of the ordinary by souls standards. There were a lot more annoying enemy setups in the second half... but nothing that dark souls 2 didn't do... so I'd say the second half of the game falls to dark souls 2 standards in the areas. It doesn't ruin the game though at all
I strongly advise you go back and give Sekiro another chance, I didn't fall in love with Sekiro until my third try I gave up twice but then it just clicked and suddenly its one of my favorite games of all time, that made me realize Fromsoftwere/Miyazaki never miss they create masterpiece after masterpiece, even if a game doesn't click at first it does eventually, I had the same experience with Bloodborne when it was announced I thought I like the knights and Dragons theme, but I played Bloodborne and again I'm blown away.
You should really give sekiro another chance. Although it’s not necessarily a soulslike, it still has the FromSoft challenge, polish & is the most rewarding game in the FromSoft catalog to master imo. It took me many failed attempts over a few years before it finally clicked, but once it did it had its hooks in me in a way that only bloodborne had previously. Like you, the setting and story don’t exactly do it for me, but the moment to moment gameplay & ability to replay boss fights at any time is second to none. Literally nothing in any other fromsoft game feels as good as mastering & executing mikiri counters.
I really like the first one. The second one is really good too, I just wish it was just the three and they didn't bring back big bro for the final stretch of it. It felt lazy and they were just padding out the fight just cause. The first half of that is a phenomenally designed gank fight and it should have just been that the whole time
@@aarontruong354Tldr: Me personally, these fights were my favorite in the whole game. The second being my fav out of the two. I dunno, the first fight starts with him then the last ends with him. They gave the big bro the corruption juice to try and save him and we gotta send him back to the afterlife *again*. Which I thought was cool. I was running the Tyrant Slaying Dagg with Salamander handle, capacity/technique build, puppet string arm. A Brittish build. For myself and how I played the game, this fight felt incredible. The best way to describe it is when you are fighting them all in close proximity it feels like a three boss O/S. I do understand you don't have to fight the boss that way, and the game even encourages you not too by sending them one by one. But if you stay near all three and do you best to spead out the damage, even fighting the ones that aren't aggro (it's the best way to damage them anyways). Then this boss can turn into a very good fight.
Lies of P is my favorite souls like (and I played the shit out of every fromsoft one that came to PC + Bloodborne.) In the beginning I felt almost ashamed to like lies of P more, it felt like a betrayal (how ridiculous is that? 😂) But now I'm sure and I can't stop playing.
I've never beat any od the souls game, despite trying all of them, they just never spoke to me. I beat code Vein but never beat it a second time. Lies of P Is the only souls-like I've beaten and played a ng+
Not at all. I played hours and hours of sekiro - but I just take too it. I wasn't being toxic at all. I just didn't enjoy it and so I moved on. Are you sure you understand the meaning of toxic? Or ironic, for that matter? Maybe look it up and then come back here.
@@ChaosSoulYT yeah the problem is you call other toxic for doing the same thing you did. But thats most people. I believe people like what they want. And they want nothing new its not toxic. It's literally taste.
what is this beautiful music used throughout the video? I recognize it from somewhere but don't remember where.. anyway, yeah, I agree with 95% of what you say. I feel like the writing in LoP is very amateurish.. it's definitely written by peopl who don't read books very much, unlike Miyazaki who is an avid reader.
Pheew, finally got to your review hehe...There's alot of flaws in Lies of P, especially on the gameplay side - however? It's an incredible achievement for their 1st game in the genre and even tho i still haven't finished it, this is my favorite Souls-like ever! (from tmosphere, sound design, combat feel, lore, environmental design, to enemy design) Just an absolute love letter to FromSoftware, while still bringing innovations to an established genre :)
Its definitely a love letter! And I really really hope this team go onto the Alice in wonderland sequel they teased and I'm so excited to see what they bring with it. And thank you for binging my videos! I love it ❤️
@@ChaosSoulYT Holy shit, i'm not even mad at this spoiler - i adore the twisted version of Wonderland in McGee's Alice and Madness Returns! Can't wait to see the tease for myself, that's awesome 🔥
Apologies for the spoiler that was my bad - but it's not much of a spoiler its only a tiny tease 😉 I love the American mcgee Alice games too and the idea of a soulslike version of that is awesome
@@ChaosSoulYTyes after seeing that ending tease with those red slippers ontop of the roofs of Krat clicking her heels 3x got me even more excited to see what neowiz will do with their next game..will it be DLC or an entirely new full blown game 💪🏻
A full sequel to this, except you're Alice going through a mad corrupted wonderland, that's what I want. If it's just a dlc it would be massive wasted potential
Additionally, I would love for this developer to google the poise mechanic. Also, I would love to on occasion stagger an enemy. Sorry, not in this game. I am surprised you had a problem with DS2 being hard for the sake of hard and feeling clunky, and you think this is great. I guess it’s an agree to disagree situation.
@@ChaosSoulYTI don’t really take your point tbh. Nearly every Soulslike also has a parry. This does not excuse a poorly tuned dodge. The dodge in this game is as bad as a 0 agility dodge in DS2, which also had a parry but took a beating for these same clunky mechanics. And clunky is exactly the right descriptor for something with this lacking a dodge, slower movement speed, no ability to stagger from attacks, and no poise.
@@ChaosSoulYTPlease do not misunderstand though. I disagree on this game, but I really enjoy your videos and wouldn’t bother commenting if I wasn’t heartbroken that someone I agree with on so much played a different game then I did.
Love your content, prolly just the British voice silky smooth, but I completely disagree, this is the best version of a souls like so far even better then lord's of the Fallen to me anyway, closest feel to a fromsoftware game but it's the same as how a Chrystler looks like a Bentley til u pull next to one...same deal, I played dark souls 3 just to make sure, and dark souls 3 moves way better then lies of P waaaaay better go feel em side by side you'll see what I mean and even worse with Bloodborne
This game is phenomenal. I can’t stop playing it, as punishing as it is and how bad I suck at parrying. Dude you need to try sekiro again. It’s their best game
Done with it now. Combat ruined it for me. Does not feel good at all. It didnt stop me from playing, just nothing ill ever play again. The parry and terrible enemy attacks, random red attacks, and just the wat every attack was the hold for 5 seconds, or immediate, cant see coming. Yes there were tons.
Have you played the demo? Did they change the movement and combat feel because it 100% was clunky and a little bit unresponsive/delayed. But you also mention ds1 and that also feels like shit compared to the newer titles so maybe you are just a bit biased or don't care that much about a bit of clunkiness. Which is fine but no need to call people liars because they had a different exprience from you.
Played an hour of the Demo and put it down, gave it a chance on release and have been absolutely loving it, dodge has been fixed up and the game feels perfectly responsive.. My only issue is too many sooks complained about difficulty and now devs made the game easier so it's a lot more of a walkthrough, pre patch version of the game was absolutely perfect in my eyes, enemies have way less hp and stagger easier now and too easy to level up...
About sekiro the game is great but it’s not my type for me so I shouldn’t judge but in case I’m lies of p once you master the combat you will enjoy the game we should give chance smaller studios because we need more games like lie of p in the future
You’ve got to go back to sekiro if you never beat it once the perfect parry clicks in your brain you become a monster trust me I never thought I’d even beat owl let alone ishin and I’ve beat that game 5-6 times but I truly love this game lies of p is at the top of my souls borne list right there with blood borne and elden ring and this game has way better bosses then blood borne
Be quiet so people who dont like this game don't know what there talking about but because you said you dont like sekiro we're gonna take your word for it gtfoh both games are great and ive played them all
@@ChaosSoulYT well you were offended or other wise displeased with the weapon girls sexual innuendo but for some reason you choose to play as, what I could only guess you think is a hot blonde. I think I'm missing something here
Definitely wasn't displeased or offended by it - I was just commenting on it... I like it if anything, and yeah I made a hot blonde at first but now it's more tradition for me
The worst balance out of all the souls-like I've played so far. The bosses don't give you a millisecond to breathe; they're just spamming attacks like there's no tomorrow. And the player's damage output is laughable. What's the point of making your first game more difficult than any Souls game prior? 😄I'll be waiting for patches.
And there we go they catered to the noobs like you that can't take time to learn boss attacks and deflect them.. If you're struggling I really dunno what to say, either get good or change your build
You just aren’t ready for this game. It’s really tailored to souls vets. It’s ok to go back to easy games if you can’t enjoy it. Clearly most like this game. The outpouring of adoration is deserved. Arguably a better story than any souls borne and it’s a very unique take on something everyone has heard before. Can’t wait to see if they release something else
@@ChaosSoulYT I feel that my biggest gripe with the combat system is that the perfect parries sometimes feel very off and unforgiving. Whereas a game such as Sekiro gives you lots of room with parries and deflects, Lies of P simply doesn't. Couple that together with red attacks only being "parryable" and the constant interuption caused by enemies because you don't have hyperarmour for heavier weapons, and I can understand why many people feel frustrated with the fights. I've personally felt that there are some HUGE difficulty spikes in the mid game (act 4 to 6/7ish, After victor it felt fine), that really demotivated me. The BRB boss in particular really caused me a lot of grief, since I feel that it highlights the design flaws inherent in the combat system, and even more so with the perfect guards. BUT. It is still a fun and satisfying game if you can get past those things, although it has yet to give me the same feeling bosses like Sekiro or DS gave me for overcoming them.
Parry in this is different than sekiro, gotta press it half a second earlier and hold it a bit longer to get your full guard up.. Like instead of having a gripe about it why not just learn it? Didn't have an issue with perfect parry through the entire game even the last few bosses that half multiple attacks in quick succession, just seems like more of a skill issue on your end tbh@@jessehendriks2877

Lies of P is 10/10 period.
Nah
No it’s definitely not.
It's a 9/10 imo
Sure, if you're a delusional fanboy.
I agree 100%
@ChaosSoulYT then your opinion isn't worth a dime.
I agree. this game is polished on it own way. some people start the game think that they beat other souls games and do thing like they do in the other souls games as result it not work well then they said Sekiro is better at parry or Bloodbrone is better at dodge but they forget the fact that they are playing Lies of P and it has it own mechanic to learn. ofc this game not perfect but it deserve more positive outcome. thanks you for saying what I think in this video
Also animations are pretty robust and lack fluidity and frames that From are famous for.
patched
Yes but just a little, if fromsoft games are perfect in this, Lies of P is excelent. Most fromsoft games offer you easy ways to cheese minibosses, but here need to fight the hard and only way to defeat them.
5 hits? That shouldn't be a mini boss...
@@luigi7781 well, five hits of lion claw or charged attack.
I mentioned how the Eldests AI changes multiple times....
As a souls vet I was honestly a bit apprehensive about this game before it came out. But it definitely blew me away. Not perfect for sure but refreshing and definitely on par with other souls games.
Im glad you touched on the "perfect" thing.
It always annoys me when I see people refer to ER or DS1 as a "flawed masterpiece", or always feel the need to follow it up with "but it isn't perfect."
Well.... duh....of course they aren't.
No build variety yet the game offers a bill system for weapons, allowing for almost infinite possibilities for what weapon type you can use
Can you believe that there were people, weapons and like attacks there borrowing too much from other games lmao. Sorry, you completely lost me when you said they have very creative weapons like a fire axe I've never heard of one of those before.
Your mom has
Not having a magic type build forces you into interacting with the parry system which I like
@27:23 you're really robbing yourself of the experience playing without sound, IMO.
"there should be a magic-style playstyle"
This might be a bit of a cope, but I think the amount of investment you can go for regarding throwable items is essentially DS1 sorcery spam. Definitely will look into it myself for a future playthrough.
Its kinda hard to detatch your self from something you like and speak the truth about this game sure have wisdom i assume you re 25+ years old
The lack of character creation has something directly to do with the story
Thoughts on the recent patch that nerfed a few bosses?
Maybe I’m crazy but I prefer linear games where I don’t need to look up guides 247. I hate getting lost and not knowing where to go or what to do. It’s a very demotivating thing for me.
I've just come to the conclusion people generally like to saddle up and ride FromSoft when they see anything remotely close to a Souls-like experience 🤷🏾♂️, also forgetting they don't make flawless games and others like Nioh do things such as combat infinitely better but at the same time the level design isn't as good as Bloodborne they can all coexist without trying to hate or downplay another 💯. This game immediately became one of my favorite souls-likes i've evr played and its because of how different it is comapred to most others 🙏🏾.
i have played the game for nearly 40hours
finished it last night
i have to say something that it might sound nerd but i dont care
as a veteran soulsborne player and particularly i loved sekiro which i considering it if not the best game (for me) one of the best
on Lies of P post chapter 7 all i saw was ambushes, minor enemies with irrelevant flurry attack pattern and basicly all i am saying is that, post chap 7 the game became significantly harder but it does not rewarding equally
all boss fights were IMPECCABLE and i had zero issues and i never felt an unfair disadvantage
but when it comes to certain areas/stages, i was questioning myself over and over "why the fuck do i play this game" for real some areas are so fucking HORRENDOUS, full of enemies in groups of 3-4 and its getting a little bit tiring to deal with all those "decisions" post chapter 7
game is great, it plays smooth and flawlessly (played on pc 1440p/240fps)
story wise is unique
the soundtracks are awesome
the dialogues are quite good for a "soulslike" game
but yeah the game is becoming a little bit tiring post chapter 7 and it does not rewarding equally of the difficulty
At this point I feel like I’m the only one who loves the pack rabbit fights- one of the best duo fights ever imo
Super ironic you say its toxic to not accept new but you did not accept new setting in sekiro.
@@TimoNaaro look who's being toxic...
3:54 the other game that you didn't find was "guitar girl" 😭😭 it was made by neowiz
I hope you have gone back to Sekiro, because it sounds like you genuinely enjoy the challenge of mastery over brute force or cheesing boss fights.
I honestly think you would enjoy Sekiro. Once the combat clicks, it's like you are dancing with the bosses. When you beat them, it feels pretty great.
what is this beautiful music used throughout the video? I recognize it from somewhere but don't remember where..
anyway, yeah, I agree with 95% of what you say. I feel like the writing in LoP is very amateurish.. it's definitely written by peopl who don't read books very much, unlike Miyazaki who is an avid reader.
It's the lies of p menu theme
@@ChaosSoulYT ohhh wow classic, I can't believe I didn't pick up on that haha thanks!
For someone who is on new game plus 4 now. It’s ok, not Bloodborne or souls. On par with Steel Rising
Silky smooth gameplay, aside from the bs tracking, windups, garbage dodge distance, lacking , and so on.
Windups are fine, dodge is fine because a parry exists... and I've never felt any of the tracking was BS
👏👏👏 love this video. also LOVE Lies of P
Yeah no lie I be wanting to turn my tv down when I upgrade my weapon cause OL girl sound FREaKY asf 😂
As someone who loves ds1 the most, the feel of this game is closest to ds1 and that may be why I like it most.
Thank you for the praise 👏
a slashed ma wrists because of Simon Manis
This game is phenomenal. I can’t stop playing it, as punishing as it is and how bad I suck at parrying. Dude you need to try sekiro again. It’s their best game
Done with it now. Combat ruined it for me. Does not feel good at all. It didnt stop me from playing, just nothing ill ever play again. The parry and terrible enemy attacks, random red attacks, and just the wat every attack was the hold for 5 seconds, or immediate, cant see coming. Yes there were tons.
and you came to tell me because...?
Sounds like you have a major skill issue
Skill issue
This Sekiro take is too upsetting I'm having trouble listening to the rest of the video...
Not everyone is going to like certain games. Not everyone likes bg3.
You are gonna LOVE Sekiro. The parrying in each boss battle is SO satisfying when you master it. An incredible dance.
UA-camr: I didn't like sekiro
Random comment: you are gonna LOVE sekiro.
Perhaps you missed the reference to returning to Sekiro from 10:19 …
Be quiet so people who dont like this game don't know what there talking about but because you said you dont like sekiro we're gonna take your word for it gtfoh both games are great and ive played them all
I actually think the Brotherhood fights are excellent. A better multi fight than anything FromSoft has done in a long time.
Lost me at "i normally play as a blonde with pigtails" .....
Why 🤣🤣
@@ChaosSoulYT got some weirdo in you, son haha
I don't know how making a blonde with pigtails makes me a weirdo haha
Recent patch made this game much more forgiving. Maybe you should give it another go.
And there we go they catered to the noobs like you that can't take time to learn boss attacks and deflect them.. If you're struggling I really dunno what to say, either get good or change your build
Whoah so the people that feel the game combat and gameplay is wonky and clunky are outright liars ? Liars???? . Ok....
Yes. Anyone with any degree of experience with Souls will feel this game and know straightaway it feels good and responsive.
Yes
