Managing worries: timeboxing technique

  • On this video, I discuss a very important technique for managing worries and anxiety: timeboxing our worries! By setting aside a designated time to worry every day, we gain better control over our worrisome thoughts and can lower our anxiety. The more in control we feel, the lower the uncertainty, and thus, the lower the anxiety.

    I love this idea! There's an old Jewish joke that a town decided to designate a chief worrier to worry on behalf of all the other townspeople. He was going to be paid a set stipend, until the elders decided that if he was getting paid a good salary, he would have nothing to worry about.
