I tried doing the classic donut in blender and tbh..I couldn't follow through and your entire channel has been so fun to practice with Blender. So much to learn. Thank you for putting that stuff out there!
Definitely, although I would point out the usefulness of making sure to "vocalise" values used, rather than have the user have to back up, pause, zoom mag in and continue on. It would just save a bit of time and hassle.
regarding your idea @ 3:22 re: geo node tree work around - in settings for "experimental" you can turn on legacy geo nodes and you get some extra options under "points" eg point instance, point translate etc - if that helps... yeah you'd save some steps: Procedural Motion Graphics with Geometry Nodes! (Blender 2.92 tutorial) by Sketches for Humanity 11 months ago... cheers! preferences>interface>turn on developer extras>go to experimental button that appears bottom>turn on geometry nodes legacy
Wonderfully clear and concise, thank you for spending the time to clarify on each step of the process. So many people skip key presses or commonly used shortcuts and just rocket to showing a result. You can tell you’ve put care into refining your process so you can be a more effective teacher. Major respect and appreciation for you dude. Appreciate every bit of work you’ve done. 🫦❤
Man.. I AM DANG! JUST AMAZED AND SO SO GRATEFUL TO FIND YOUR CHANNEL WHICH I THINK IS SERIOUSLY A BLESSING FOR NEWBIES LIKE US TO LEARN AMAZING STUFF IN FREE!!! SO SO AMAZING WORK AND FANTASTIC TUTORIALS MAN!!! LOVED THEM AND PLEASE PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING😍🙏🙏🙏
Looking cool... For the workaround you could use the Noise Texture node to manipulate the Z component of a Set Position node that is added after the grid mesh For the looping you could add the Empty via an Object Info node and use the Rotation output to drive the (W) value of a 4D Noise (it gives me a glitch though, not sure how to fix)
I literally start watching all of your tutorial video because of how to the point and simple of your video is, not just that because of you i learned a lot about blender.
Excellent !!! I just did the old tutorial of geometry nodes, I tried it first in B 3.0 but got lost with the changes, so download the old version and all good. 💙
8:32 I'm stuck there. Instead of having these geometry nodes with the grid block connected to the group output, I have the other ones (those with "instance on points"). It's as if clicking on the right-hand corner of the first modifier (a geometry nodes modifier) just like you did didn't do anything. Edit: found the problem, I accidentally pinned "Geometry Nodes.003" 12:08 Btw if your screen became all white, it might be because your Emission strenght is set to 1. Mine was set to 1 by default whereas it should be 0.000
Thanks... the original tutorial was one of my favorite I've completed over the last few years. Still use a part of my desktop wallpaper slideshow. This didn't quite have the charm/ detail of the original with some steps obviously bodged for similar effect. Still, I will definitely be trying this as a continued introduction to Geo Nodes and were it not compared against the original - this would still stand out as a fantastic effects.
9:09 I have an issue with the deletion node. when i connected my ColorRamp to my Delete Geometry Node an exclamation mark appeared on it. now I am unable to change the “point” to “faces” how do i fix this ☹️
Hi, I love your tutorials. Always very clearly explained. I'm Using Blender 4.0 and the small cubes won't displace with the grid, is this a bug or is there a new way to do this now?
hi, can you suggest a good laptop for 3d work? I'm new, I know Blender a little. I can’t buy a full-fledged computer, because I don’t understand whether I need to spend money on it, not knowing the work of a 3D artist + I can move.
I'm trying to select random faces in Edit Mode to apply materials to the grid/instance cubes but Blender won't let me select any faces, or select all faces. Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks. Love your tutorials!
im having a really hard time getting it to infinitely loop, im using 60 fps and 800 frames (im gonna have it sync to some music) is there something i should be aware of? also awesome tutorial bro thanks so much, little feedback could you perhaps get some type of screencast software (i mean the one that shows what you clicks automatically so you dont have to narrate that)
Is there a workaround to using materials inside geometry nodes (assign materials / material input) to bypass the material repetition you mention around 10mins? Or am I dreaming of blender 3.4 solutions here :) ?
Whenever I press the middle mouse button while in the camera view it defaults me back to standard view making animation a little harder, how do I change this?
Hi , thanks for the tutorial , the tutorial was great , i created the scene and animation and that was really cool , i love it 😍😍😍 , thanks for your great tutorials.
I have a little problem here, does anyone know why I don´t have the instance options? I can only finde the "Point_Instance" option but it doesn´t work :c
When I set my ending Empty Z rotation to 360 (7:45), it goes unusably fast. It looks like yours only if I end on 60 or so. Am I doing something wrong? How do I avoid that and still achieve a loopable render?
you need to play around mathematical logic. If you ask the empty to make a 360 turn in 4 seconds, it will move fast. If it has more time to spin, it will be slower. You may also look for looping techniques in other videos.
I'm confused as why you didn't fix the issue where the duplicated geometry node grid thing is over lapping the previous one. In your previous tutorial, you had your cool mirror trick to make it more seamless, but here it seems like it wasn't adressed and not only there is the seam but for some reason you choose to have the cubes over lap... so they over lap :o (maybe i missed something, but i'm like "ohh you're doing the shadings now so i guess there is no more work on fixing that :o"
Having a hard time figuring out why my camera doesnt have a fixed speed throughout the animation. It ramps up at first then slows down near the end. HELP!
Instead of duplicating the grids, you could just change the settings in the grid node to be longer and add more vertices. That's what I did in my render of your wonderful tutorial. Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/H9PxuDcxnNY/v-deo.html
Followed your amazing tutorial , cannot see why but for some reason after about 150 frames the wave effect on the cubes speeds up I have checked the rotation of the empty it's 0 - 180 degree constant rotation
"Completely in geometry nodes" (except for all the stuff that isn't). All of the displacement, animation, duplicating, etc could have been done within a single geometry nodes instance.
I tried doing the classic donut in blender and tbh..I couldn't follow through and your entire channel has been so fun to practice with Blender. So much to learn. Thank you for putting that stuff out there!
Dude I’m so glad to hear this! You are watching the videos just the way I made them for!
I still haven't tried the donut tutorial till date. I literally started learning how to use blender through your videos! 🙌
Making tutorial videos that a person is sure to watch from start to end is some really great talent.
And you have that.
Definitely, although I would point out the usefulness of making sure to "vocalise" values used, rather than have the user have to back up, pause, zoom mag in and continue on.

so true.
Geometry nodes has been used by many since it’s release.. I mean it’s the best feature of blender

Geometry nodes are god and ducky is the Lord 😂.

Just a suggestion: Use fullscreen mode, I just really notice the big white bar at the top and it's quite annoying. Just a suggestion though c:

amazing tutorial
Legendary
I feel like geometry nodes were MADE for Ducky.
I'd love to see this rendered out in cycles!
Any idea why when I animate the Z Rotation on "Empty" the speed is so much faster than yours? It loops just fine but it's moving way too fast.
good intro good lesson good materials all good thank you

Hello ducky 3D I am one of your followers

@Ducky3D I think the node you are looking for at 3:22 is Realize Instances, right?

how to export with animation intact when I tried to export in gltf I lost all the animation, I tried recreating the model shown in the video
Great video, thx!

if you insist on the webcam view please keep it off the toolbar. it obstructs the settings
sir only one question , how did you make your intro?
You can make a tutorial of the iron man armor building itself
can you make rain particle intersect Mesh like Text ? like real distortion ?
Thank you bro!))
nice!

I can't find any of those tutorials.
Yhea ! ❤
what is your system's specs for these type of projects? Raytracing is so smooth!
this is eevee as you can see in the render tab at the end

I changed the look to high contrast and my blender crashed
I havent saved it

Go into your preferences>animation and set the default interpolation to linear
Please can u make video really slow I really want to learn how to do that
did u reuploaded this vid?
MY FIRST EVER RENDER IS BEING REMADE!!!
Apparently Ducky used Eevee here. Anybody know why he didn't go with cycles on this one like he so often does?
