Congratulations on your UA-cam plaque!! Much deserved. I recently discovered your videos and have binged watch them, lol. I’ve always always loved vintage looks and all of the glamorous eras. You’ve inspired me to finally go out and buy some authentic vintage clothing 🥰🥰🥰
I enjoyed watching this video. I had a not so good day and was a little depressed and when I saw your video popup on my phone I got excited. Thank you for making my day better today. :). I love your hair (fringe) in front. I like the way it curls and falls on your face it's so pretty. I had my hair cut like yours and for some reason when I curl it, the front doesn't look like yours. I must be doing something wrong.
Yaaaaaay congratulations on the UA-cam plaque!!! That’s so exciting! Also, it’s encouraging to see someone who can’t or doesn’t make their wet sets last a full seven days but redoes it or just doesn’t… bother 😂 I never could figure out how to make my curls last more than 3 days!
I love your style and how you wear vintage pin curls so beautifully. As a hairstylist I love the style and wish it would make a come back. I also only wash 2xs a week, you should try using the dry shampoo before bed. I find it absorbs oils and sweat when we sleep better than trying to brush it though same day. Love all you do.
CONGRATULATIONS! for your UA-cam award! I watched this video with a smile as remembering how I bobby pinned my hair every night during my teens. My thick hair was always flexible & bouncy yet stayed in placed. Wish I had thought of the ideas you now use day-by-day. And oh, I learned to open the bobby pins with one hand vs teeth (my mother insisted!). Took a little practice, but I felt like I had won the bobby pin Olympics! 🤗
Hair nets always remind me of snoods. I love love love snoods. I purchased one years ago at a Renaissance fair. As someone with longer, very thick hair, the snood worked really well to keep my hair out of my way without having to have a ponytail. I lost mine years ago - I should acquire another one - maybe. LOL One thing that I just realized - the ladies of the 40s, 50s, and even 60s seemed to spend a little more time on themselves. They always seemed to have their makeup on, their hair done, etc. Oftentimes, with kids and everything, some days I'm lucky to remember to brush my teeth. As women, mothers, and wives I think we all tend to put everyone else before us. Your videos make me remember to stop and take some time for myself.
Congratulations on your numbers 👏 I suspect they'll keep growing, make room for more plaques. I adore your vintage fashion and hair styling vlogs and am longing to see how nails were cared for and worn during the different decades as well as the different jewery pieces that were worn and how. Your research is beautifully done and well, I'm looking forward. What can I say? I'm addicted. Cheers!
I just started practicing wet sets. At chin length (with layers...sighs), it's still too short, to really to something with the result - but I figured, I could just as well start practicing the rolling techniques now. It certainly takes a lot of practice, to get it right.
Congratulations on your UA-cam plaque.🎊👏👏👏❤ God bless you ❤ Thank you for sharing Sage. Have a beautiful blessed Sunday. Love these awesome hairstyles.
Congratulations on your 100,000 subscribers award! 🎉 👏🏻 I adore your channel! I remember ladies wearing hair nets to bed or wrapping their hair with toilet paper then sleeping on a silk pillow case. I’m a child of the sixties and Mama rolled our hair on foam rollers, pin curls or rags(my sister and I looked like Shirley Temple lookalikes) those curls lasted for daaaaaays! Then my aunt showed me how to roll my hair on orange juice cans...yes metal cans with extra long bobby-pins. You didn’t get any sleep but your hair was teased and flipped the next morning. I wanted to look like Marlo Thomas aka “That Girl”. Thank you for all the vintage things you do! You lift my day and always make me smile! 🥰
So excited for you and 100k! 🥰 My hair is almost to my waist but your tutorials make me want to chop it all off so I can do all of your cute styles!! I alsolutely love your housecoat/bathrobe. Makes me think of my Great-Grandma. 🥰❤
Congratulations on your award 👏 for all your hard work. The pony tail is so cute. This is a well thought out video with so many options for maintaining your hairstyle. Hope study is going well.
Lovely to see you, and I do love your vanity set up... I need to go have a browse and see if you have done a tour of your vanity. I can't recall off the top of my head! Clever idea re hair net... I remember my Granny wearing a sort of ruffled elastic cap...not the 1800s style ruffle, but of a kind of shear fabric with tiny lace and ruffles all over. Just an option instead of a hair net, but the net is clever and easier to find.
When my hair was permed, I would go to the salon twice a week, and would do pin curls and love this, miss that routine maintaining my curls, but now I'm natural, I naturally have curls, but could still do this routine too. Love your hair too!!
Such a nice idea for keeping curls a long time. My hair is wayyyyy too long to hold more than 6ish hours, but after watching this is considering cutting my hair 🤔 congrats on the plaque!!
My hair goes to the middle of my back, definitely too long and heavy to stay curled too but I've also thought about cutting it shorter again. Videos like this one are definitely a big inspiration for that.
Good tips! I finally got some curling cream so hopefully my curls will last longer than the end of day one. 😆 Now I just need a good day off to give it another go. Congrats on the plaque!! Love your channel. ♥️
This is so great!!! It didnt even occur to me to put a hairnet on 🤣 for an evening out you could even just leave the hairnet & scarf during the day and brush our fresh before your event!
It is amazing how you keep your hair looking so nice and how you use tips like a scarf when your curls are at their end. I have admired you look since I started watching your channel in about September. Love your videos thank you and keep ip the good work. Congradulations on your button.
This is a great video, thank you for the tips! I guess I had gotten it into my head that if you wanted vintage hair you had to redo the set every day...
I am so tempted to do my hair like this - my hair doesn't hold curls very well, so I'd like to see if this works! I also related to the comment at the end where you couldn't remember what you were talking about because you were hungry!!
I am from the U.S. and I was a little shocked seeing you in two layers and one a sweater because we are so hot in Virginia in August. haha i am going to get used to your different seasons from ours.
Oh my Sage this is so wonderful. Love all the hairstyles but when you where the hair scarves they are my favorite 😍 have you seen Mona Lisa Smile? It is my very favorite movie. The pony tail style reminds me so much of the styles in that movie. This makes me want to run out and buy foam rollers and a huge pack of Bobby pins!
Congratulations on 100,000! I love this video, it was so helpful. I'm teaching myself to set with foam rollers but I don't think I do very well 😅 I just have so much hair! Keep up the great work!
Congratulations on your 100000 subscribers achievement plaque/award, though you are way above that now. I am so enjoying your videos, your style, and your happy personality. I adore your hair, you make it look so easy and the look is perfectly vintage. I have naturally curly/wavy hair and it does its own thing. If I try to style it the result is a bush so I simply wash, condition, and let it dry naturally. The next couple of days between washes I spritz it with water and squish it a bit with my hands to tame it. The success or not with my hair is to have it cut by someone who knows how to cut CURLY HAIR 🤣. Best wishes with your nursing studies - you will make a wonderful nurse! 🐾
Thank you sooo much for posting this video! I always felt so different because I want to wash my hair 2/3 times per week, because by that time, I can't stand it! lol So many helpful tips
I have natural curls and I start every week with my wet set brushout from sunday .The curls last about four day´s , mostly till thurstday, than I normally must wash them again because of the much hairspray I use🙈 Hair naturally becomes greasy the longer you don't wash it, but the hairspray seems to dry out my hair. I think I should use less ;) That's why I usually have to use a bit hair oil during the week or wash my hair again on Thursdays and twist it in. But since I'm a bit lazy and also have to work on Fridays, I wash it that morning and wear my natural curls up to the side with combs. When I go away at the weekend, I "have" to wash and twist them again on Thursdays.... Fortunately, because of my natural curl structure, my layered curls don't unhinge so quickly and I can brush them well every day. I also use my vintage brush for this. This brush and my Denman Brush are really the best.
Loved your video. I laugh at myself though because your nighttime routine is my daytime look. I have 3b curly hair and a mother of 3 small children. I fake the vintage look using my natural hair texture just with a hair net and bobby pins. I do not brush out since my curls frizz and never brush smooth even if I have taken the time to foam roller my natural curls to relax and make them more consistent.
Hi Sage! Like always, it was amazing and fun!!! Your curls are so beautiful! My hair are very straight🤦♀️ but I must try Your technique some day... Thank You Sweetie! Lots of love 💝
Congratulations on 100,000 subscribers!! The award looks beautiful on your wall. Gorgeousl hairstyles Sage. You look stunning in every single look🌹(I kind of understand why up-do's didn't require a hair wash ☺️)
