My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.
On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!
I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.
You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.
Enjoy browsing!
Love,
Lucy

A great back to school hairstyle😂
To Avonlea local school! lol
LMAO iris 🦋
Hahahah
Iris Todorović for librarians 😂
@@lilacandgooseberries6653 YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSS! I’ll just have to dye my hair red and buy a dress with puffed sleeves! Also I know I’m a guy… But I’m gay... and I have really long and thick hair… Soooooooo. EEEEE
I wish the Edwardian, and victorian fashions came back to main stream fashion. So feminine, and pretty.
Beautiful 👩⚕️👩⚕️👩⚕️
Just as long as we don't Paris Green dye as a thing again.
I mean, Edwardian is having a hardcore comeback atm, I mean, it's 2010s does Edwardian but still. And a lot of decades in the 20th century have had that same comeback, most famously the 70s. But A-Line skirts with blouses (with or without lace embellishments) are very much in style
Those eras most definitely contained beautiful fashion. Very elegant, modest, sweet, presented grace and intelligence within the people ☺️ I would love to wear the royal Victorian dresses but sadly they stand way too out of the crowd ..everyone nowadays dresses very plain ):
Definitely look up Bernadette on UA-cam! All about Edwardian fashion.
Maybe some dry shampoo could help with the texture and grip!
Yes, and curling her hair would help too.
was thinking the same thing
I was also thinking the same or a texturizing spray plus use second day hair
this reminds me of how my piano teacher used to wear her hair. so pretty
It’s so difficult to interpret old text based tutorials like this. Thanks for putting it in video format :)
"this fashionable coiffure can be made with little or much hair,"
me, with an above the shoulder bob: hmmm 🤔🤔
Hes talking bout that thiccness
For me it is possible to do something similar with that length 😉 curls are the secret 😉
The bob didn't come into style until a decade later so most women had longer hair back then.
If you tried it..post pictures because that sounds cute!
Sideshave here, I think I have some more change of it working than with a bob, but I'm still doubtful
A ribbon around the puffs instead of coils would be pretty too.
Use the Big Sexy Hair hair spray as a working spray. I am African American and when my hair is straightened, I use it to build my bumper bangs and 40s rolls. It would have been great for this style.
How pretty! Obviously not everyone’s style, but romantic hair is so gorgeous in my opinion. ❤️🎉
look how incredible these styles are .........they can even run with the todays fashion tooo
Edwardian messy bun!! 😂
A helpful tip to freshwashed hair when you want to do updo or these kind of hairstyles i found that dry sampoo adds texture to the hair or else do them after 1-2 days for better results!
This turned out awesome! I love how the coils look!
I tried this because I have very long and thick hair, and I wanted to see what it would look like, but I completely failed. 😭 You make these look so easy but it actually takes a lot of practice and talent.
This is soooo pretty Lucy!! The rolls and puffs in the back resemble the petals of a peony. Super elegant and feminine!! 😍😍 it would look so dreamy with some flowers tucked in it
Wow...you look just like Helena Bonham Carter in Room with a View. Really a beautiful style on you.
This is actually gorgeous! I'm going to have to try this myself.
It looks amazing on you ! I love watching you try all these different hairstyles !
Yes! this is one of my favourite historical hairstyle
That looks so beautiful!
I love this!! Thank you so much for doing these historical hair recreations!!
I think it helps to make smaller rolls. I attempt free styling an Edwardian hairstyle and I noticed it works better and looks more authentic. They don’t say how much hair you should use for the rolls, so I just think it’s about trial and error
wow this seems perfect for me! my hair is quite thick, but not very long right now, so doing little puffs like these would make up for the volume I lose in length!
I tried this today. After a year of waiting, my hair was finally long enough. I love it and you explain everything so well!!
I love the way you go about pronouncing the French words in the tutorial! Also this looks just lovely , if I had just a little more courage I might be convinced to wear it out
That's lovely! You're bangs are coming along very nicely, too 💗
This is seriously adorable. Classy of course, I love it . With this hairstyle and the glasses you remind me of Mary Shelley . ( She wrote Frankenstein. )
This style was like the Gibson Girl style which keeps making a comeback every few years. Here it is again. I wore my hair like this with tiny white asters in it on my wedding day in 1981. ( still married to the same guy)
karen brower aww , that’s awesome.
This is gorgeous!
Wow! This style is easy and elegant!
I love that! Can't wait to try it myself.
I needed (wanted?) this particular hair do many years ago, to match my wedding dress. No one knew how to do it, so for years (decades) I've been trying to figure it out! Thank you so much. I don't need it anymore, but for some reason I still want it. My ballet teacher always had her hair done this way. She was passed away when I got married or I'd have asked her.
You should try spraying your whole head thoroughly with a light hold hairspray and then (gently) combing through it to add that grippy texture before trying these styles next time! Or a cheap texturizing spray would probably work too, or heck even salt water
Or dry shampoo
this is exactly what I needed after watching Mr Selfridge. Thank you
I LOVE THIS HAIRSTYLE ON YOU!!! SOO CUTE
These kind of videos are so fun to watch! Great job 💜
Your blouse is beautiful!! ♡
This looks so awesome!
You look amazing! Thank you for all of your videos, love them! Cant Wait for the next hair tutorial 😄
Your tutorial was quite easy to follow and I love how it looks with my hair !!!
Omg I love this!!! It turned out so gorgeous 💜💜💜
I love you for making these!
Looks good. Your brave to even try to do this. Good job! It is becoming on you!
This reminds me of when I would just try and recreate old hairstyles based on the pictures. When my hair was longer ofcourse, indent have much of it now.
Love it! It looks so pretty!
That’s so pretty!! I love it, too!
I have "much hair" and I love this it's similar to how I wear my
hair only less pins. I normally have to use 15 to 20 of the long bobby pins.
There hair tutorials are amazing!!!
Keep em coming :)
Love all ur vids Lucy! 🥰
That is adorable. I absolutely love it. I'm going to have to try that. I hope I can do as well as you did
Love the coils!!!!
You are so talented at doing your hair, it's addictive😍
I already did it and I got SHOCKED 😱😱😱😱OMG aaah! This is siiiiick I love it!
Aw this is so pretty!
So pretty! I love it.
This is great! And you're talented!👍❤
Beautiful.
I did this on my hair and it’s so cool!!! Thank you for making this! :)
LOVE these!
Absolutely beautiful! Tomorow I will try this one at my head, too. ^^ Thanks for your inspiration! :-)
Adorable!
I am def going to try this. I have even less hair than you do. 😥
so pretty!
Very nice. A little fru fru for daily use, I think. But perfect for maybe a fancy occasion or date night to a nice restaurant or going to the theater.
The way you say Recamier Coiffur😍
This style is so cute!! I just wish my hair was longer so I could try it.
Beautiful hairstyle...
Awesome!
So cute!!!
Lovely!!
Love these videos!!
omg, looks like something I wana try!
I wonder if this hairstyle was the inspiration for the curl bun that we use nowadays. It certainly looks like it could be!
It's like Grandma from Tweety bird LOL
Oh wow! Your absolutely right! Lol
😂🤣😂 I forgot all abt her! 💖
Great look for Coachella!
You should recreate 'Gran Hotel' hairstyles they're really pretty and they are similiar to the hairstyles from the edwardian era :)
That hairstyle is lovely. Now I want to have a go at doing it but I need to find my hair pins first. :)
Try it with extensions in. You would get much bigger twists and puffs for the finished looks. Is a very sweet period look. x
Lovely!
You should do a retro style pic with this hairstyle! Would look so authentic!
Beautiful 🥰
Would you care doing a hairtutorial for the series "Versailles"? They have a lot of stunning hairstyles🌻
I love it! I have long hair.
I love your videos you are so fun to watch! Back in May of this year I was watching another favorite UA-camr and was surprised to see him doing an 18th century hair tutorial that you had done! That was Brad Mondo and he's a hairdresses/UA-cam artist. If you've never watched him you should check him out. You both are so awesome maybe you could do a collaboration on something!
Ilysm girlie
I like it! It reminds me of the geisha hair.
Last month I was doing modern version of this hair style every day ☺
Mind to explain? I was looking for something similar! x
It is very pretty! My hair is very thin but very long so I think I can do this
Beau défi! 😋
Mais tu as réussi !👍
I think I might try this out, also if you did on less puff the coils may have been easier
thanks for this video :) just a tip : washing your hair every day thins it out. Some people have the habit of having to wash their hair each shower or they "don't feel clean" and say their hair gets oily too fast. You have to train your hair to wait at least 3-4 days to wash it. Your hair produces natural oils depending on how often it gets washed. Not washing it as often should strengthen it and help it feel thicker.
This hasn't been true for me. I have an intense amount of hair. I go 2-3 days without washing, am careful with ingredients in shampoo and still have the same amount as hair as 20 years ago when I washed it daily. It is just that I don't care about the oil now. It still looks like someone dumped oil on my head after 24 hours. 😂
Hahhaa that thumbnail is A+
when you were doubting your technique I was saying "no it's amazing" out loud.
You look like a sweet librarian.💗
looks beautiful on you ^_^
maybe next time you could use salt-spray to add some texture to your hair! love these videos!
Love this hair style! I need to try this on my hip length hair.
this would be a great base to use and have fun with braids and different widths od curls and maybe do somthing similar to make edwardian inspired milkmaid braids /crown of braids and maybe fill the inside with flowers instead of curls
Gosh I loved this. Your soooo cute 😄
Love
I like this too. My hair is no longer that long, but I have other lengths!
You have beautiful hair ! What are you doing to make them so bright and voluminous? I have hair as fine as you but completely flat, please can you make a video on this subject soon ?
Btw, I love your channel 😄😄
