You know, sometimes you have a shit day and you wonder about the state of the world and things aren't seeming to going very well anywhere and it's a damn shame and a bummer. And then, you see and hear this guy Paul Gilbert play this song with this bassist and drummer and it sounds too easy and too crazy to say but after 21 hrs and 42 minutes of a shit day have passed I can see that there is still beauty and joy to be found in this world. And I am grateful and thankful for these guys and this video.
@AdamAlexRyan It's an Ibanez Fireman. He's been using these very often of late. In one of his videos in UA-cam he says he took a picture of an Ibanez Iceman and inverted the body and Ibanez built for him-hence the Fireman.
oddly enough, this tune rhythmically seems to have helped him break out of some of his own boxes in the solo section, much of what i don't like about the general feel of his soloing, altogether, seems to have taken a vacation, because this toon forces him to do a little more "dancing" rhythmically with his phrasing. makes perfect sense that he would've come around to appreeshkiate this great classic...
@cbarrett34 in todays music terms they are defiantly not a dance band, but back in the 60s they were considered dance because of the groove and rhythm in there music was quiet danceable
See, I think we can agree that Paul Gilbert is a great singer when it comes to jazzy/smooth stuff. This is a great example, you guys should also check out his "fly me to the moon cover" it's great. Hard rock isn't that suited for his voice, it's too low/smooth.
Theory>Feel. 😢 I think ya add a rhythm guitarist in there, lead guitar embellishes along side and drop the noodling by 3/4, crank that bass up and have it driving the song with the drums & clean up the “build ups” and Bob’s your uncle… Standing O
yeah they actually were in there own way u gotta listen to there riffs, bass &synth Guitar grooves start with Peace FROG..any hip hop producer cud own that beat if he sampled it ,but he dont own it...
I like this version of Touch Me. But, the Doors: a DANCE band? Not sure what he means by "dance band", given the Doors sound. If you call the The Doors a dance band, than why not call L Zeppelin, Jethro Tull and fifteen others dance bands? Prior to this vid, I have never heard the Doors described as a "dance band"
There's no questioning about his superb skills as a guitar player, but I find his rendition terrible.. Especially the guitar solo, which has nothing to do with the rest of the song, could well be a completely different song
Less noodling by scales. More something like a small ember or sparks; erratic but controlled that builds like a burning fuse to a myriad of massive powder kegs just waiting to explode… or something like that.
It's difficult to imagine this song done without strings/horns/orchestra.
wait he didnt like this song as a kid? haha im hooked the 1st time i heard this song
I know right. This song is so addictive at first hearing. And the build-up to the "Stronger Than Dirt" final line is dope as it is hilarious.
Lawrence is good at piano!

Good job.

What is cool is that 3:05 and up is the easy part for Gilbert.
and i gonna love u till the stars fall from the sky for u and i....
pqp que delícia de solo, muito fod4444444444444444 amigo
I was searching for a guitarist that could play the sax solo exactly note for note. Can't find anyone, I guess it can't be done. .
sounds like jangle-pop song with distortion and shred guitar, and maybe jangle-metal too
PUTAQUEOSPARIU 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Will Ferrell on drums!
¡IM PRE SIO NAN TE!
Towars the end , durin the solo , I thought Alvin Lee for a moment , Goin' Home , Woodstock.....
2:27 - 2:35 drummer is definitely feeling it as well LOL
camera is feeling the bass
He sings better than Jim ??? you have nooooo clue kid !!!!
Be nice ? how do you be nice to someone ripping on Jim Morrison !!! lol
you have an actual problem if you think paul gilbert sucks
what type of guitar is he playing???
Paul gilbert why you don't do Queen???
your version is kind of growing on me.
"The Doors were kind of a dance band.." Yowza

I know EVH didn't invent tapping, but I can't see it without thinking "eddie."
0:15 auhauahuahu funiest laugh ever
Platino covers ???
I never knew Ben Stiller played drums! :p
Theory>Feel. 😢

I'm sorry, but 2:45, that lick!
Seriously, I love Paul Gilbert, but that version of Touch Me on guitar really sucks ;/
I came .
Interesting cover though. Paul is a pretty good guitarist.
0:14 !
Dance music ???
yeah they actually were in there own way u gotta listen to there riffs, bass &synth Guitar grooves start with Peace FROG..any hip hop producer cud own that beat if he sampled it ,but he dont own it...
Paul, the doors were a psychedelic rock band, but you could dance to it, cause all the hippies were stoned and dancing to psychedelia anyway

Pretty cool but I still missing the organ.
I love Paul but The Doors: dance music?
corkskrewclubhouse93 yeah lizard king baby!
There's no questioning about his superb skills as a guitar player, but I find his rendition terrible.. Especially the guitar solo, which has nothing to do with the rest of the song, could well be a completely different song
Bravo Paul ma in questo pezzo mancano le tastiere di Manzarec
sheldon the big bang theory Jajaja
youtube 1,5X speed is funny
Horrible
Sorry but you ruined this song
Great cover but this is no dance tune.
good ,but without rays bass and organ isnt that
It was going so well until he over played the solo and ruined it
+Dick Phuck I agree :(
i'd like to see you improvise something better lol
He's a shredder. What do you want?
Less noodling by scales. More something like a small ember or sparks; erratic but controlled that builds like a burning fuse to a myriad of massive powder kegs just waiting to explode… or something like that.
he ruined the end of it with that solo!
Sacrilege to cover the doors with no keyboards. But the horrendous solo covers up all the other travesties in this butchering of a classic.
It’s also cool, but touch me without keyboard of Ray is quiet boring…
where is his wife when we needed?
I hear...BORROW CHORDS!
Oops.
😈🤬👿
singer needs more practice on the singing.
Well, gotta be honest... I didn't like it till i saw this vid.
