ua-cam.com/video/2ftAKs6AHR0/v-deo.html this one too! I've seen most of Paul Gilbert! Was a big fan when i was young, and still love the way he plays !
HOW DOES HE DO THAT???? Going into this, I knew Paul Gilbert is a great guitarist, I’ve been playing guitar for ten years and I’m still speechless at what he can do with that guitar!!! What magic!!!
Damn?!?!? Pretty good if you ask me. Known Paul could play seems like just about anything but I didn't know his roots ran that deep in the blues. Fantastic tribute. You know you're kinda good when you'll do a song Hendrix did and also do it for a crowd. Takes balls too.
One of the top three renditions of this classic song. Other two are Yngwie and Hendrix. Then Frank Marino, Gary Moore, and G3 (Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson)
I remember an old interview where Gilbert was saying that some traditional blues players might not be fans of his shred approach, but he added, "no one has taken me to jail yet, so I guess it's ok." Lol.
Blues is more about feeling than technique!!!!! Great player yes. Great blues player no. The blues is figuring out how to make it the whole week on 10.00 and this guy has notes to spare!!!! Still good version
wow,,im not gay at all,,, but in this video Paul Gilbert looks so gorgeous,,and the guitar playing is great,,come on lads !!! be honest ,,thumbs up if you agree !!!!
I love anything Paul does, but this was the worst camerawork ever. When they weren't focused on the bass player, they were zoomed in way too far on his left hand.
Drummer was "Rick Lee" according to CD Booklet, probably "Richard Ric Lee", formerly of "Ten years after", later also with Alvin Lee. If I correctly remember the story, the Alvin Lee Band should have played, but Alvin Lee got sick and Paul Gilbert played the set with the Alvin Lee drummer and bass player. However, the bass guitar was re-recorded in the studio by the producer for whatever reason, so you don't hear the live bass.
No can play it in as fluid a manner as Hendrix. Nor control tone in the same way. Even great players like this. Why make it a shred fest in the middle 🤔🙄 Wrong tempo too, too fast. My fav recording is hendrix IOW
Paul ist a great technique player but thats it. Compare his Red House Version to Hendrix original, Gary Moores version, Lukathers version, Eric Johnsons version or Clapton Blues etc. These players have more feeling and phrasing. But his technique ist absolutely incredible, totally clean instead of fake technique Petrucci players whose skill came from the big amp and rack effect technologies. Gilbert should just play metal anymore. (-:
Why is it these same bitches that cry about gilbert "going too fast" never cry about stevie ray vaughan going "too fast"? Fucking whiners, stick to your barre chords dipshit.
Check Frank Marino's version of red house on the reallive album...its on UA-cam. Check "he's calling" while you're at it. Paul Gilbert is awesome but theres no one like Frank.
Seemed like a standard 12 bar to me. You're gonna say a 12-bar blues song isn't Blues because you don't like the number of notes the guy plays? lol ok.
This video needs to be watched by EVERY guitar player that aspires to be great.

easily the best version I've heard. Great feel for the blues idiom combines with his technical gift.
TOTO - Red House live at Montreux 1991
This is right up my alley. Right with Gary Moore's version and Steve Lukather's.
How about Frank Marino? 🎸
Gary’s version was freaking amazing. This was right there too!
Going to watch Lukathers version next.
This cover was what finally proved to me that Gilberto is more than just a mindless shredder. Dude has some seriously tasty licks in his vocab.
My favorite version of Red House... Paul kills it.
I love the way he plays the blues! :)
Wow, that is some amazing playing for sure.
Saw him two months ago, still kicking ass.
Paul kicking virtuoso into another level! Amazing
One of the best guitar solos in history.
This was good, but I'll go with Duane Allman on Stormy Monday at the Fillmore.... Best slow blues solo ever... IMHO
Spot on. Paul kills it here.
Best thing I ever found on Kazaa/Limewire
He's amazing! One of my favorites. He was Buckethead's teacher.
Absolutely great playing
Damn?!?!? Pretty good if you ask me. Known Paul could play seems like just about anything but I didn't know his roots ran that deep in the blues. Fantastic tribute. You know you're kinda good when you'll do a song Hendrix did and also do it for a crowd. Takes balls too.
Paul is absolutely one of the greatest players on the planet for sure
Violent and at the same time sweet. Like my inner world.
Love him or hate him, but boy he can play!
I think Hendrix would have really dug that legato stuff Paul does.
paul harris El gato negro
2024 , still watching
Best version ever!
Ага, блюз он реально могёт)
This guy is the best technical player I have ever heard. No lie.
Best technical doesnt equal best sounding.
Also think Buckethead is technically better - but some of his stuff leaves me cold.
Hi from 2022 btw :)
@@ooABoo He just said best technical player he's heard. Nothing about sound.
A “Master Class” right there !!!
Paul is also a good blues player in his own style.
One of the top three renditions of this classic song. Other two are Yngwie and Hendrix. Then Frank Marino, Gary Moore, and G3 (Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson)
What a player. What am inspiration.
The best cover of this I've ever heard.
Wow,why have I never heard of him before? He's a BEAST!
Holy smokes! I don't really go for the shred techies, but this one and Malmsteen's are SO FUN to listen to.
Sublime
I remember an old interview where Gilbert was saying that some traditional blues players might not be fans of his shred approach, but he added, "no one has taken me to jail yet, so I guess it's ok." Lol.
I have the recording for the past 30 years but have never seen live video footage. Interesting take on the blues.
Thank you!
I have the feeling the guy knows what he's doing😂😂😂
Fantastic
Spectacular!
Very cool, he is a world class player...
Incredible
I don't think Paul Gilbert has wasted a single note since 1991.
He should name this amazing solo..
Half way through my headroom
Yeah...he's that good.
Yeaaaaaah good job Paul. 🎸 Tx
Paul Gilbert. rocks!!!
im gonna say, nice balls! Great job fellas!
Ficaou fantástico
I have the CD...I don't Remember where i bought It and when I bought It...
Sunset - Bossa Nova - Fabio Valente
New Generátion Bossa Nova From Brazil, Enjoy!! Thanks
Leo Lyons has more groove than a black cat out on the tiles.
Metal red house ♥️🖤
This is paul gilbert ‼️
If I'm not wrong it's Leo Lyons on bass and Ric Lee on drums from Ten Years After.
They were with Alvin Lee, who was my fav..
Blues is more about feeling than technique!!!!! Great player yes. Great blues player no. The blues is figuring out how to make it the whole week on 10.00 and this guy has notes to spare!!!! Still good version
Paul is out of contest versatily a total virtuous
Goddamit those long fingers sure help... Awesome player Paul Gilbert!
Jesus fucking christ he's good.
WOW!!
Круто 👍👏👏👏
Wow Jimi Hendrix looks different
Omg!!!!
6:50 makes my chest hair stand
M U S I C !
It's okay, it had been cooler if Paul played a Strat for Red House to get that Hendrix sound💯%Yngwie sings and playes it with more feel🔥
why did they keep showing shots of bass player when PG was doing licks in-between lyrics?
The cameraman doesn't play guitar
Paul gilbert style of sing is similar Jimi than any others.
I can tell that's the bass player from Ten Years After just by the way he moves... Lol ☺️
UNO DE MIS DISCOS PREFERIDOS
I have had these mp3's since 1999 or so but I've never seen this video, where can I order an official dvd?
dam that lick at 24 secs shit !
The cameraman had one job and it wasn't to frame the bassist every time Paul's playing
Execllente….
これポール以外は弾けてなくてあとでドラムとベース録音し直してアルバム出したんだよね
Deamnnn.....
LUVLI 😽MASTER JIMIs ReMeMeRD
Incredible guitar! Not fond of his vocals
De la musique, de la vrai.
@6:45
Somebody give that guitar a pregnancy test! Jesus!
Tasty
I think Steve Lukather has him beat, also Gary Moore.
is that leon lyons on bass??
On the video it should be, but what you hear in this audio (from the CD) was re-recorded by producer Horst Polland in the studio for whatever reason.
wow,,im not gay at all,,, but in this video Paul Gilbert looks so gorgeous,,and the guitar playing is great,,come on lads !!! be honest ,,thumbs up if you agree !!!!
Honestly, he does not look gorgeous at all.
Gay as String skipper
You sound like an overweight 90s girl.
Michael, that is like wearing a kick me sign.
michael black
You're so deep in the closet your postcode is Narnia!
He's a great guitarist, but I don't but like shredding on slow blues... Prefer a more melodic story, like Duane, Jimi, Stevie and BB can tell... 😎
I love anything Paul does, but this was the worst camerawork ever. When they weren't focused on the bass player, they were zoomed in way too far on his left hand.
I came at 5:46
I heard it illegal to play blues on that kind of guitar
Why the fuck would you show the bassist in the guitar solo
Who's drummer name?
Drummer was "Rick Lee" according to CD Booklet, probably "Richard Ric Lee", formerly of "Ten years after", later also with Alvin Lee. If I correctly remember the story, the Alvin Lee Band should have played, but Alvin Lee got sick and Paul Gilbert played the set with the Alvin Lee drummer and bass player. However, the bass guitar was re-recorded in the studio by the producer for whatever reason, so you don't hear the live bass.
Terrible tone, but nice playing
In the solo's part it's not blues.. Amazing playing.. but it's not The blues
Test
b4 Kenny Wayne and Bonamesso
Neither one could wipe the Divine sweat off Gilbert's ballsack on their best day and his wORST.
No can play it in as fluid a manner as Hendrix. Nor control tone in the same way. Even great players like this.
Why make it a shred fest in the middle 🤔🙄
Wrong tempo too, too fast.
My fav recording is hendrix IOW
Muito ruim, blues não é pra qualquer um... Esse é um grande guitarrista, não deveria ser queimar desse jeito. Essa performance é tudo, menos blues.
Yngwies Version is waaaaay better
A Fa I agree, and this is coming from a blues fan, not a shred fan
Paul ist a great technique player but thats it. Compare his Red House Version to Hendrix original, Gary Moores version, Lukathers version, Eric Johnsons version or Clapton Blues etc. These players have more feeling and phrasing. But his technique ist absolutely incredible, totally clean instead of fake technique Petrucci players whose skill came from the big amp and rack effect technologies. Gilbert should just play metal anymore. (-:
I actually really like the phrasing in this performance. Paul really transitions well and structures his solos well.
Fuck off.
Why is it these same bitches that cry about gilbert "going too fast" never cry about stevie ray vaughan going "too fast"? Fucking whiners, stick to your barre chords dipshit.
wait pettrucci is amazing
Sebastian: Do not be stupid !!!!
That tone is simply the worst thing I have ever heard
Blues on a ibanez.... Zzzz
The worst performance of Red House ever. More feeling and less speed. This aint the blues.
Check Frank Marino's version of red house on the reallive album...its on UA-cam. Check "he's calling" while you're at it. Paul Gilbert is awesome but theres no one like Frank.
@@kaz9947 Agreed!!!!
@Kaz you weren't kidding. Marino is fantastic. Way underrated.
Seemed like a standard 12 bar to me. You're gonna say a 12-bar blues song isn't Blues because you don't like the number of notes the guy plays? lol ok.
