Jogo's surprisingly relatable. He's the talented kid who had the potential to reach the stars but when he face someone more powerful than him, it stunted his growth because he became too focused on what he couldn't do.
That and honestly, he didn't want to. All of the strongest except Sukuna who is a broken person want people on their level, hell even Sukuna relishes in this too as with Gojo. @@gauravshakya8048yeah. I think this guy is the person who made the vid. That Yuji treats saving people and caring how Sukuna treats eating people and torturing them.
The reason for Jogo's weakness is explained in the Kashimo vs Hakari fight. Kashimo finds a way to exploit Hakari's domain, but shrugs it off saying "That's how losers think" and goes for the kill against Hakari at his strongest. Gojo only knew stories about Sukuna, but could proudly say he was going to exorcise him. Sukuna saw the mountain that was Gojo, and with just 1 finger and no means of bypassing Infinity, proclaimed he was going to kill Satoru Gojo. Yuji had no chance against a low-tier Special Grade curse, yet he faced it head-on and even tried to beat Sukuna at any given opportunity. The difference here is that all of these sorcerers were strong because they did not care what the odds were, they sought to surpass them. This mentality is also at the heart of Geto's question: are you the strongest because you are Satoru Gojo, or are you Satoru Gojo because you are the strongest? (ergo, are you that confident because you never lost, or did you never lose because of your confidence?). Jogo was strong but had no confidence, so he couldn't grow, he couldn't become stronger. And it's not that scheming is weakness, Kenjaku is really powerful, but the problem is the mentality. Kenjaku schemes, but he is confident he will beat Gojo. Jogo schemed BECAUSE he felt he couldn't do it. Going back to the first example, it's not that Kashimo wasn't going to end the fight if Hakari ran out of RCT, but rather that he wouldn't let that mindset block him from taking an early victory, or even worse, put him on the defensive and let Hakari beat him. Finally, one character actually does the opposite of what Jogo did. Megumi. Early Megumi wasn't confident in his power. He was strong, but he would give up easily, he fought only as a last resort and given the chance would always run, call the teachers, rely on others. And if push came to shove, even at the smallest incovenience he was ready to throw his life away and just throw a wild Mahoraga at people, at the cost of his own life. It's only after he changes that mindset that he can unlock his Domain Expansion and beat a Special Grade he couldn't before.
Perfectly explain that's what I been telling people and that's what I like about JJK it's not just friendship power ups or training for a Week and become wildly strong. It's about the mindset and being more in tuned with yourself. In JJK it's not all about power and techniques it's how you put your imagination to it, using your power this way or that way like Megumi for example when he fought the special grade and made his domain expansion. He imagined it and shaped it to his image that's why he kept saying bigger and more while casting it. You have to surpass your limits and your way of thinking it's about being extraordinary instead of settling for less.
kenjaku is confident he will beat gojo..? bro he legit hid behind sukuna for the entire month leading up to the shinjuku fight cause gojo scares him shitless lol

@@a4g4st0he did believe he could, he didnt needed to beat sukuna, all he needed was land one hit on him and he would be on their side, he probably was confident he could atleast hit Sukuna once.

@@ninnikins4768 Fought the Strongest Sorcerer Alive, Refused to Give Info to Him Even if It meant his Death, Fought the King of Curses Yet never Once Tried to Stop them From Killing Him, He Fights Even if He Opens Death's Door.
To be strong in JJK is to embrace who you are, your raw unrestrained nature and letting go of anything that tethers you down in any way. Mahito embraces his status as a curse and grows exceptionally from this, Maki never once falters in her ideal and conviction but holding on to her sister and the small amount of cursed energy she had did. If Jogo never lost his drive, his soul to burn the world around him to a crisp, that overwhelming pride and ego in himself as a curse that led him to attack Gojo in the first place, he would have grown to become far stronger then anyone else. In other words, JJK rewards hedonists and maniacs who's response to any form of adversity is "full send"
I love this part of the setting honestly because it's a great explanation for why the strongest characters are absolute freaks and weirdos. And then there's Nanami, whose ideals and perspective run so contrary to the idea of "strength through insanity" that it went full circle. He was so straightlaced in a mad world, it was crazy. And that made him strong.
Tbf, he was rewarded in his own way. He died more like a sorcerer than a curse. Trusting his friends to pick up his slack, and dying happy and proud of his strength. Hell, in a sense he kind of gets what he wanted with Choso being half curse but being treated as a human. Not exactly how he wants it, but Choso also wants a similair thing.
I think the reason why Jogo lost is very similar to why Toji lost. When Toji forgot his own morals and gave up his own identity to fight Gojo he had already lost and this is the same with Jogo. Jogo claims to be the true human but he fails to prove his own identity after the fight with Gojo. Curses are born from human's negative emotions but they are pure they can only act out the emotion they were born from. In this way Jogo should have been a curse that burnt wildly and without restraint but after his fight he loses himself. He refuses to use domain expansion and therefore is holding his own fire back. In this case what truly happens is as soon a Jogo holds back he's lost his status as a true human he no longer acts out the pure emotions that he was born from and instead just becomes a pedestal to lift Mahito the true human into the spotlight.
@@Mr.WestcottX I understand that but what makes gojo and sukuna so strong is it merely because thats just who they are? Lets analyze why they are so string in the first place. The more that a curse feeds its own greed that was born from humans, the more powerful that a curse gets. Sukuna was first human but gained immense curse energy by fulfilling all of his desires with his cursed techniques and eventually became so curse-like in his desire that he became the king of curses. Who's to say that jogo couldn't have achieved a similar state of strength if he also acted with greed and malice in his own interest?
Jogo purposely needed to be held away from the main cast. As he would have soloed all known sorcerers in season 1. It's like with Orochimaru, we unfortunately never saw his full capabilities. From the narrative standpoint though it made just sense to pin him against the two strongest.
its a shame because jogo is still a top 3 curse in the series even though his 2 major fights made him seem like complete fodder. he as a character is also interesting because unlike mahito the other disaster curse, while still evil dont get me wrong, they had reason to their endeavours. they thought they were the true humans and actually thought they were correct. from a narrative standpoint its sad since they aren't completely one side like mahito. tbh i could go on and on but at the end of the day they are curses
@@Jollofmuncher2000agreed. the disaster curses were great for the introduction into the story. As freshman sorcerers always learn to fight curses to get a feeling in this profession. Later it was mainly sorcerers fighting against each other. Hence the title of the series Jujutsu Kaisen. Mahito, Jogo, Hanami and Dagon were just a foretaste. Considering the crazy ass shit that happened after Shibuya it would have been really interesting but almost impossible to have them as a third party roaming around. Kenjaku and Sukuna wouldn't have allowed that. The jujutsu society went downhill anyway

I think their reactions would be as follows: Hanami would still grow but never want to fight Gojo again, same goes for Dagon. Mahito's reaction would be "holy shit I can get that strong?"
the biggest issue jogo suffered from was gaining the complexity of human thought and the limitations it can create, it’s why his death is a final long conversation with sukuna and his friends compared to mahito, who was capable of deeper thoughts but never let it block his instincts.
I've actually always thought of Jogo to be the most sympathetic of the disaster curses and ironically enough, the most human. He kinda combines the best and the worst of humanity in him and even shows genuine care for his fellow disaster curses. He also seemed kinda... nice at times to be honest. A bit grumpy, yes but not like he's pure evil.
I mean the point of curses is that they dont give a crap about human lives. They're a whole entirely different species with their own moral compass. Especially characters like Jogo, since his ideology is that "people are imposters while curses are the actual humans". If you take that into account he is the most humane among the disaster curses.
I imagine Jogo becoming this Soul of Cinder type of deal where he can cast the curses he has incinerated to ashes, but when he's backed into a corner he just drops all play and turns into a raging god of war and flame.
defo a top tier in terms of that. jogos abilities are just situated for destruction because he's basically created from the negative emotions towards fires or volcanoes idk something hot. but i honestly think the likes of special grade sorcerers would rank above because of what special grade means
I think curses go a lot more deeper than people think, seeing how evil and thoughtless mahito was while killing and enjoyed it, but jogo doing the same actually cared about his fellow cursed spirits, even feeling sad at hanamis death. And his end dialogue with sukuna trying to explain his feeling of sadness to sukuna
This character is just pure perfection. There's so much to him, with so little said. Ik a lot of it is head canon, but the best series leave the most open for self-interpretation.
Something that' sad but endearing about Jogo's character is that strangely enough, what held him back from becoming that next level of curse is that Jogo cared for his fellow curses to an extent. I forget where, but it's either implied or said that Sukuna was partly so strong for his lack of care for anyone other than himself. And it makes sense, Sukuna is always only ever looking out for himself, and it's served him remarkably well because he doesn't have to care about anything other than his own strength. The same partly applied to Mahito. Mahito could have been the Sukuna of his era, if y'know, Sukuna wasn't still technically alive. What held Jogo back from being a curse like Mahito and Sukuna, was the fact that despite looking the part more than them, he had a bit more humanity than them.
I think another reason that gojo was stagnant was in a real sense he achieved his dream and became human. He embodied very good moralistic traits and was worried about losing those qualities if he let him self burn carelessly in the end he was content living how he was because that is how he wanted to be. To give into his nature almost went opposite to his desire so every time he had the chance to maybe burn a little more care free he was caught by that, and when he was burning more freely he was not thinking nor looking to grow or burn harder. When he needs to think and contemplate his nature he fears failure and loss, but when he embodies his nature he is never contemplating it.
I like the final quote. I don't know what I think about it being a necessity and nature of acting according to one's nature. He doesn't need to realize it if he's doing it instinctively I guess
During the video, I was thinking, how much have I settled with happiness/contentedness vs always growing my potential (not necessarily a dichotomy, but based on your comment and the video). I have days where I'm "feel" I'm lost, and don't know what I am supposed to do, but I have reminders all around me. I, in particular, have chosen to build a family. I have/had friends, and I still make time for them, but I had to deal with one saying we just were at different places in life. I just started reading JJK and have already gone through 160 chapters in the last week. It suits me well, because I am a fan of "tournament-like battles" and philosophies butting heads.
Jogo is my favorite character in jjk. He’s a curse who, in his quest to prove he’s better than humanity, instead discovers that he is more human than he realized. This humanity was what held him back as far as strength goes. He didn’t fight for the sake of it without purpose or meaning. He fought for his friends and for the life he wished all curses had (the life of humans). He was never going to be the strongest like sukuna or gojo because he was selfless. I think he’s kinda like Zeke from AOT in the way that he has these grand extermination schemes but it all boils down to how he wants to be able to appreciate the little moments of joy with his friends.
I think something interesting to note is that a volcano which is what Jogo is based on, is usually calm for long periods of time which can even create ecosystems or such but once erupts goes full destruction, nothing survives. He has a very odd nature as a curse spirit
Imagine he had dagons growth spurt in battle 😂 Dagon went from a weak cursed womb to expanding his domain and bodying grade 1’s like it was nothing. Bro only fought one time on screen and was half way to special grade

@@1hundred1 well in this series cursed techniques never truly die they just take shape in a different form so maybe we'll get a sorcerer who has the same abilities as jogo.
And it makes sense that he was the strongest disaster curse despite his mindset. Jogo was wrong to think that Mahito had more potential than him in my opinion. At the end of the day, there is no death that invokes a more visceral fear in humans than being burned alive.
See it’s very interesting because while jogo doing cowardly tricks shows him going against his nature while Mahito tricking people, lying, being a coward and being so purely malicious is what made Mahito pure, humans can be truly evil and as such needs no pride but fire? Fire is beautiful, it could wipe away all things and still maintain its natural beauty but jogo lost his beauty and pride
After stand proud opened up his domain, he said are you you're strong I am you or are you the one who left it all behind and his overwhelming intensity because with this treasure I summon the fingerer simply answered, nah, i'd win
I actually like that each of the three earthly cursed spirits are dispatched separately by each of the strongest established characters thus far in short order.
Honestly jogo atp of the series I would say is top 5 or top 10 in terms of strength but had shit match making only fighting against the 2 most op characters in the series but that’s the point if he had just rely on his natural instincts he probably would have grown in power.

@@Mr.WestcottX It's actually kind of realistic. In many manga's you see the the Antagonists able to get away of situations where they should be done for. In real life when you are too dangerous almost everyone is trying to kill you and you got almost no teammates. This is why in One punch man, monsters usually always get killed after attacking a city full of people, even though they can make some casualty before dying. When you are a bad guy, not only the good guys want to kill you. But some times bad guys as well. Like Sukuna killed Jogo just for the sake of it.
honestly i think Sukuna asked Jogo why he didnt open his domain because im pretty sure sukuna himself wouldnt be able to open his to counter, given the fact that he at the time wasnt aware of the whereabouts of megumi and would not be willing to risk killing him by opening his domain
In an ironic sense, death is a hunt for someone, and then mahito became scared of yuji due to his resolve to hunt him, when mahito is death, which is a never ending hunt, and yet he became afraid of another never ending hunt upon mahito
He was toyed with by the best of the best. It wasn’t a competition. Sukuna didn’t even use domain expansion. Even mahoraga caused him to use his domain (only once)
I understand if you consider Jogo above Mahito and I believe if they were to fight, it would be extreme diff on either side. I originally had Mahito just slightly above Jogo but after thinking about it for like a good 10 minutes, I can see why Jogo slightly scale above Mahito
A being with absolute certainty in it's true nature will always act in accordance with it's nature. Jogo was a true curse until he lost to Gojo. After that he became doubtful of his nature. He became insecure. He became human

I think in the end Jogo wasnt even a curse, curses are known to be selfish and to not care abt one another yet Jogo shows emotion and compassion for his fellow disaster curses. He truly became "Human".
Jogoat could have beaten fraudkuna if he had used his full strength. He knew fraudkuna was having a bad day tho so he let him win, like an older brother letting his younger sibling win.
Jogo failed because he was the most human. He was the closest to actually being human. To be human is to know weakness, to understand there are forces beyond you, circumstances that have influence over you that you have no influence over. And like many humans was undone by that realization. Curses really have no such understanding. They just ride the currents regardless. Forces that can't even govern themselves. But there is another category that both sides seek without really realizing it. Gods. To be the force that shapes while having the agency to govern...what better way to define a god? This is what I think all sorcerors are aiming for. Maybe futile, even for Sukuna, but even a futile effort has meaning in that it allows you to measure yourself and your target. And perhaps reaching that goal is the revolution.
If Jogo had been allowed to grow as a curse, he could have killed all of humanity. There is a theory that all the volcanoes erupting at once would kill every human on earth.
Jogoat fought Gojo, fought Sukuna, never ran, never begged. He is truly the Jogoat. At full potential he'd be the 3rd strongest in the verse to me. At the point of his death, he was below Sukuna, Gojo, Yuki and Yuta. I don't ser anyone else taking the W against him except maybe kashimo. Also I believe that despite not being as strong as 15 fingers Sukuna, he could beat Mahoraga because his thing is firepower and we haven't really seen Mahoraga trying to evade attacks, more like block/tank them and regen.
You’re joking right? There’s like 10 characters that can beat jogo, jogos already at full potential, has multiple fire abilities, a domain and a maximum. Theres literally nothing that he can do against many characters stronger than him

I wished Gege kept Mahito alive at least until the end of the culling games just to see him grow even more. I really like his character also his ost is my favorite.
well there is one think that jogo definitly wasnt, and that would be a coward. i mean this guy got his ass handed by gojo and still faced him a second time or accepting sukunas challenge were it was obvious from the pure dread he radiates that there is no victory to be found.
As the strongest curse Jogoat, fought the fraud, the king of curses, he began to open his domain. Sukuna shrunk back in fear, then Jogo said: "Stand proud Sukuna, you are strong!"
I really like your analyzation man. It was good. He didn't apparently have the self awareneaa of mahito and you could call him confused or flawed but you can't just call him coward in the picture. That's the biggest problom here.
So basically it's all comes down to 2 things: live for yourself or live for others. I guess the reason why Jogo lost was because he just wanted to enjoy the same life as humans do which is why he prides himself on negativity because it is more honest. So in short he thought because he is more honest with himself that made him better only for Sakuna to make him realize that was holding him back. Sakuna is a force and ironically Jogo was probably more human than he realized compared to Sakuna. In the end., the only true difference is power level and how hungry you are for it.
Honestly themes like this in jjk seem to point to it criticizing the pursuit of strength itself. Would jogo really have been more satisfied without camaraderie, in exchange for pride?

The reason for Jogo's weakness is explained in the Kashimo vs Hakari fight. Kashimo finds a way to exploit Hakari's domain, but shrugs it off saying "That's how losers think" and goes for the kill against Hakari at his strongest.
Gojo only knew stories about Sukuna, but could proudly say he was going to exorcise him.

@@tobitoeditz6090 This
Jogo has 1% chance with Gojo or Sukuna
For real
I've actually always thought of Jogo to be the most sympathetic of the disaster curses and ironically enough, the most human. He kinda combines the best and the worst of humanity in him and even shows genuine care for his fellow disaster curses. He also seemed kinda... nice at times to be honest. A bit grumpy, yes but not like he's pure evil.
He literally burnt mfs to death
That’s because they were his enemy, most people are kind to friend and brutal to enemies.
He isn't sympathetic at all he's pure evil
I mean the point of curses is that they dont give a crap about human lives. They're a whole entirely different species with their own moral compass. Especially characters like Jogo, since his ideology is that "people are imposters while curses are the actual humans". If you take that into account he is the most humane among the disaster curses.

@@Rush-ow4hqMV is strong, but it's nowhere near as destructive. It kills a ton of people but it doesn't blow up an entire block.
I’ll say it under every Jogo video because it was almost beautiful, “Stand proud, You are strong” the king of fucking curses

A video about Jogo? Hell yeah. He's so underrated. I'm glad people are talking about him!
U know what the audience is. But there is a lot to talk about with the character it's beautiful
Gojo?
Dagon was a weird case, considering that he was capable of domain expansion before even becoming a fully grown curse.

Jogos death genuinely made me sad, he was such a legendary character
love the laurence and abyss watchers theme in the background
