rewatch episode 11 of first season. ratio technique: collapse indeed is an extension technique, but extension technique very rarely means target extension (e.g. kugisaki's hairpin is extension technique of her straw doll technique). collapse doesn't extend technique's target to non-living objects, they are technique's target by default, just as a living ones. this extension technique grants nanami ability to imbue fragments of shattered object with cursed energy, creating burst of projectiles of sorts that retain his CE and can deal much more damage (and unlike normal projectiles can damage curses, that's why he buried mahito under that CE-imbued rubble). no target is extended - collapse just let his CE run through broken thing and it was verbally stated
@@wrong462 valid opinion. chapter 23 - " this technique is also applicable to non living being". this means it also can target unliving beings. chapter 23 - " a expansion technique that applies to destruction". that basically means ratio ct is used to target non living things to cause wide spread destruction ( really depends on which translation you read). "its a default target of the technique." One isn't born with full understand of what their Ct does or what it can affect/ target. Sukuna copied mahoraga by also targeting space too. this means sukuna pretty much knew dismantle can also target space, he just never thought of it before until he saw maho did it( just like sukuna coping healing ct burnout). nanami likely was figure out his technique was also able to apply itself to unliving being aka targeting them. ui ui would be the same as his Ct can target souls but its likely he found out that through practice. this pretty much means all these techniques were capable of doing that its just that user had limited understanding of their Ct or never thought of using it that way. the moment they figure out they can target that, is the moment their now can have a wider range of targets to affect. well this is simply my intrepretation of reading jjk.
so, are you saying that dismantle can target souls because it can target literally anything the user perceives? Sukuna can perceive space, so he creates the World Slash, Yuji can perceive the soul so he targets the soul barrier. Wouldn't this technically mean that if Sukuna or Yuji chose to, they could even cut concepts? Like say Sukuna cut the concept of gravity which would make whatever was cut lighter or heavier or even make it float? And if Dismantle can do this then why can't Cleave do it as well? Unless you're saying that it can, to which case why can't Fuga target space as well? Say both Dismantle and Cleave evolve to where they can cut space, wouldn't Fuga also be able to burn Space as well since the condition for Fuga is having a target be cut by both Dismantle and Cleave?
@Dan-neil nope fuga wouldn't evolve to burn space. fuga doesn't have a technique target like gojo's being space or megum's being shadows. some curse technique or raw Ce attacks can affect things without having a an unique innate technqiue target like how mahito Ct technique target is souls. so jogo nor sukuna fire technqiues wouldn't be able to burn space. unless their Ct as the potential to do so ( spatial type fire ct). why yuji didn't use cleave to cut the barrier between souls could be 2 reason 1. didn't learn to awaken or properly use cleave since he just got the shrine. 2. cleave as limited technique target that doesn't extend to space or souls. plus cleave wouldn't cut space since the requirement is to touch to the target. watch this ua-cam.com/video/2P8IoUUVuQw/v-deo.htmlsi=K9Ej02u4vd2Fui3g what I'm saying is dismantle so far as the ability to make things its innate technique thus can cut it. dismantle can become a soul type ct like mahito's or spatial type ct like gojo's.
error in 6:35. its say increase range on open barrier DE, but its suppose to be Close barrier De.
lmao didnt expect my comment to trigger this argument
