Toji was definitely feigning ignorance of his son. Not only did his son remind him of his dead wife, he believed that his son would be treated way better in the Zen'in clan. The reason being that Megumi actually has talent, unlike Toji who had no talent and was treated less than trash. Maybe if the Zen'in clan didn't treat him like shit, or if Megumi's mom was still alive then he could've been a good guy.
The Gojo story is so good in this, and it all comes around because of Toji. The thing I love about Gege's writing is his understanding of the teenage element. As adults we still have a fascination with young adult characters in stories, and teenage stories in particular. At this point in life there's this electricity to it, your choices can make or break your life, we've seen people who were clever and set plans in motion to get themselves where they are today, and others, it happens by chance or circumstance. Gojo and Geto were these two young pinnacles of strength, and then came Toji. I keep thinking if they fought him together, maybe that might of been the changing factor in how Gojo and Geto fell off, but they both lost to Toji. When Geto left, he knew that he was only as strong as Gojo if he could match his power. Rika was what Geto saw as his power up to match Gojo, because if Toji beat Geto so easily, and Gojo beat Toji so easily, Geto understood he could never achieve his plans as long as Gojo was the power ceiling he couldn't reach. Toji scared both of them and traumatized them in different ways. Damn good story
It's in knowing Gojo's past as a teenager it makes his story as an adult so tragic. Geto was the person he looked at as understanding being as powerful as feels like, but not only that, being ok with his personality and choices. After losing that, it shut him off from having a connection like that that could make him weak enough ever again to let his guard down, him, Riko, and Geto were these three up and coming or unique children of the Jujutsu Society and his concern for having friends made him soft and almost cost his life. It's why when he says Geto was his only friend, it runs deep, because that's him saying he'll never let his guard down again by having someone he will trust is safe because they are special, he lost Riko and eventually Geto, as long as Gojo doesn't keep his heart too close he won't let his guard down.

Your allusions to the battle between Gojo and Toji at 5:34 to the Monkey King and the Buddha, etc was insanely poetic. I loved your script and I like how down-to-earth your analysis is. Always saying when "it's your interpretation", etc and not putting words in anyone's mouths. Super cool.
Remember when Toji kicked Geto in the face and said “you who had the blessings of blood, were killed by a Monkey” while talking to someone whose parents were non-sorcerers? I remember
The Zenin clan's contradiction is clear-they value cursed techniques as supreme power, yet two strong members lack this energy. This twist of fate teaches that real strength isn't just about one thing. Despite this lesson, it's interesting to observe how the clan's members often remain steadfast in their beliefs, continuing their exclusive outlook. The narrative hints at growth and change, but some characters grapple with breaking free from their inherited mindset. This portrayal paints a realistic picture, illustrating how individuals can sometimes resist lessons that challenge their established views. Fate's guidance remains, encouraging the Zenins to consider a broader perspective and recognize the intricate nature of power.
I find it interesting that toji is given so much significance within the story as the root cause, even though he actively goes agains the very idea of jujutsu kaisen's world and everyone in it, except maybe Sukuna, who he actually has a lot in common with. Both of them let go of themselves amd those around them on their path to the top. I think it's ultimately possible that gege is trying to say that the strongest inhabitants of a cruel world are those who cannot be hurt by that cruelty, and in this itadori almost falls into this. The key part here is that toji and sukuna both possess a flawed escape from this cruelty, with sukuna seeing himself as far above everyone else, and therefore immune to the cruelty of those around them. Sooner or later itadori will have to either follow one of these paths, or create his own, and the ending of jujutsu kaisen hinges on that individual choice.
I think that Toji did manage to escape from the grips of the zen'in, It isn’t evident but with little hints like his favourite food being meat and offal (internal organs) and him hating alcohol it seems like he doesn't like to indulge himself. It wouldn’t even be far-fetched to say gambling was just a hobby to pass the time instead of addiction, especially considering he only works when he has to and doesn’t try save money. I honestly think he reached enlightenment and was only dragged back by the shadows of his past being embodied in Gojo.

Toji as a character reminds me a bit of batman. Both are haunted and fueled by a traumatic past, and both use the many tools at their disposal to overcome seemingly insurmountable odds, despite being born "inferior".
He so I have been going back and looking at to his story on a dad lvl bc as a dad I see tough and twisted love let me explain ….toji is an outcast in a big clan but he is the strongest disappointment of the clan that strives to get strong and like sakuna now with maki he knows that their existence is an anomaly and but with toji now as a dad to protect his son he did the impossible and that’s kill gojo or incapacity and with that his will for his son to be the head of the clan was in effect but we never got to see the reunion of toji bringing him to his clan as a leader of a clan by agreement shown in later chapters he was a target to be killed so a new head can be chosen and toji knew that was going to happen to a lil boy so he as his dad was going to be in the shadows guiding him to become a great leader and to change what the zenjin clan is that’s why megamis name is blessing and I feel he wanted to be next to his son this whole time but gojo came back and he wasn’t expecting him to come back as strong as he did be peep the fight he called out blue and seen him use red and already adjusted but that feeling was the. Feeling of lose he knew he had two options in the contract with zenjin gojo must be dead or knocked out for a period of time and he chose to spare him same as he spared geto and with that he never finished his job as toji zenji would have killed gojo with the heavenly spear to the head and not switched out with a knife if he didn’t make the mistake of sparing the one bound by fate as mentions with the 6 eyes and tengan but sparing geto was something he don’t want to handle because his over all goal was to knock out or badly injure them instead of killing them but by fate he was cursed for not finishing the job and now megami is a lost child with no dad and as he is dying he knows he son will be sold to the clan bc of the 10 mill but he knows his othe will of him being head leader and his growing up with him is not going to happen but gojo the new strongest as toji claimed the title for 10 mins now gojo is given the responsibility of megami and his life but gojo has the 6 eyes on awaken rn so Ik he knows tojis heart and will by reading his energy ….. but yea toji loved his son and wanted a better life for the clan and him but he took the easy way of knocking them out and sakuna now is not making that mistake as he did with gojo and geto or Kenny was handled for him and now it’s time to get to work
I prefer the last words of Toji in the anime compared to the manga "thats great" which I believe from how he said it could be read as I'm glad just feels so much better since he never shows emotion only in his last moments seeing his kid.
Just realized that Gojos and Tojis fight is supposed to be a representation of the fight between Wukong (the monkey king) and Buddha (Gojo). At the start of the fight Wukong thinks he wins but is actually fooled by Buddha and gets defeated with no problem. It’s like the fight between Gojo and Toji. Toji fights Gojo “wins” but when Gojo becomes reawakened Toji stood no chance and dies. Gojo even states one of Buddhas quotes.
i love how tojis story and personality is the absolute best of the type of "think yourself and you get it" story. We see so much hints and interactions. Obvioulsy he and Shiu have had a type of friendship beside the basic work they shared probably the most a of a friendship toji had. Just to judge by the way they talked about going to eat and this time toji pays cause Shiu knows toji is gonna eat a lot and tends to not have money. Also shiu babysitted megumi after Mama-Guro died while toji was unable to take care of that child. So Shiu was there for him. Thats why he asked for megumi
I really like the amount of times Toji talks to himself about something being wrong when Gojo popped off. To me that showed Toji could well have won but he sort of accepted this as his fate. Almost as if he felt Gojo is meant to beat him ever since he was seen by Gojo as a child. The strongest guy, Toji, meets another strongest and it seemed like it had to be one or the other. It really felt like he chose to stand and nearly sacrifice himself as some sort of self worth test against the strongest sorcerer beint just a monkey
And if Toji took a little longer to kill Dagon, or Jogo arrived earlier, Toji would jump at him and turn his head into a sponge. Preventing the Shibuya Malevolent Shrine incident and many other events.
That's what I been saying he took megumi with him through the window...he's a sorcerer Killer not a cursed spirit killer....he went into dagons domain if he didn't megumi would have died
@@tejiriamrasa3258why do only toji fans have to see people type this shit as if geto didnt kill humans of all ages and planned to murk innocent non-sorcerer folk from the planet earth but yeah sure toji is the *biggest* bad of the series and his fans cant like him cus he killed a fictional child
Toji reminds me of Kariya Matou... Very different persons and different fate, but the backgrounds are similar and they made somewhat similar decisions in life
I sorta bounced off JJK's manga, but love the anime adaptation. Toji never felt very well explained in the manga (IMO), but I think this analysis paints him in a new light. One thing I didn't quite understand though: I thought Toji was a sort of experiment in creating humans who do not produce cursed energy? There are a couple of people in the series who hypothesize different ways to permanently fix the problem of cursed spirits, with one potential fix being the removal of cursed energy from all humanity. This would effectively create an entire society of superhumans like Toji via heavenly restriction, no?
It’s even more ironic that the guy who voiced dio is his voice actor because if you think about it the rest of the story in jojo for the first universe was about dio’s legacy even after his death and same can be said for Toji
Toji is written like a Greek tragedy. He was born powerful but useless to the Zen'in clan. He grew up under abuse resenting them, and left. Presumably, he became a mercenary as that was all he could do. He met Megumi's mother who was the most positive influence in his life, who was then ripped away from him after the birth of his son. He considered his son a blessing, but thought that he would be better off without him. He tried to forget everything about the clan and jujutsu society including his son, but he couldn't. Finally, his pride led to his downfall. You think he would finally rest in peace, until he is essentially revived by the seance technique. Once he finally regains his conscience, he is fighting none other than his son. He is relieved that his son took the last name Fushiguro, and kills himself to save him. In each case his last thoughts were about his kid. His life was littered with misfortune but I believe he was written in a way that makes it hard to feel bad for him. He was a sociopath, a bad father, had no problem killing a 14 year old for money and was a genuinely bad human being. His writing is quite masterful and has all the story beats of a Greek tragedy, from the misfortunately life events to the downfall caused in part by personal shortcomings
Couple things of note... I dont think its fair to call Toji sociopathic as he shows dirrectly the opposite of such behavior when hes knocked into by the guy in the food booth, and again when he states he usually doesnt do anything for free. His demeanor is very reserved half of the time... And im not sure we can say he gambles often either. It seemed like he just needed something to pass his time away and his friend even states, "Your not fit for making easy money." Like he was new to the concept. Then again he does make the remake, youve never picked a winner. So i dunno.
How peak was toji zenin compared to toji fushigoro because if it was by little bit toji, it may have been an actual fight for awakening gojo . Which is scary.
It's wild that the same people who empathize with Geto becoming a villain after watching a Toji murder a child are the same people who still like Toji and do everything they can to mentally make him a less evil person.
My belief of this battle is the supposedly cataclysmic struggle between these ideals. Alas it only appeared to be, Toji will live on, in Megumi, In the world itself. For this world turns for all of us. No matter the outcome, we will never truly die! May viscous benevolence free you from your chains. PEACE🎉🎉🎉🎉

Sukuna rider spotted obviously you will say that ..or plot let toji beat gojo in first round
@@wadaphuc7800you never met someone who's meticulous slip up before?
Please make more of these analysis videos, It really helps me with narrative themes I may have missed, and it's entertaining af.
I remember
As a Toji fan
This video was amazing to watch
THE ONE WHO LEFT IT ALL BEHIND
Toji needed more screen time, he was so much fun to watch
Love this kind of story telling!
Keep it up
ostracided jujutsu member, worthless yet the most unique birthright
Toji is the shit! Everyone be going feral over him and I'm not at all surprised.
Great vid bud!
I honestly think he reached enlightenment and was only dragged back by the shadows of his past being embodied in Gojo.
this is the best analysis of this character ever, keep the good job my man
Thank you ! 🤝🤝🤝
This story telling style is honestly really great, you got yourself a new subscriber
He deserves a spinoff series tbh. Cant live to 28 with a reputation like that and not be interesting.
Yeah that’d be dope, seeing him have to run away and hide, before he gets his OP strength and abilities.
@@sethgaston8347 he was murking cursed spirits as a child pretty sure
@@J_rolly.b yeah he got that scar on his mouth from a cursed spirit when in the zenin family i think
@@sethgaston8347Toji is already op when he was a kid ngl he was born without cursed energy literally 0 so you can assumed that bro's already had the strength
I love your ability too add words to something that is already so well explained, Keep up the great work!
God damn this title just makes it sound like you are talking to your least favorite child😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂soooo true
5:32 the Monkey King vs the Buddha 😮 oh sh!t just realized that symbolism
He was a good father. He wanted the best for his kid whether he wanted to admit it or not. He saved Megumi from his own overwhelming emotion. He took a gamble with Gojo but he was a gambler. It paid off and he was able to see the fruits of his labor in the end.
I don't think even Toji understood himself.
Damn
I was captivated by this video. You're doing amazing work
Toji as a character reminds me a bit of batman. Both are haunted and fueled by a traumatic past, and both use the many tools at their disposal to overcome seemingly insurmountable odds, despite being born "inferior".
I love this new editing style of storytelling! It’s so compelling. Hope to see it in more videos.
This guy never fails to deliver. From character analysis to Fraudkuna allegations, there is always some to look forward to 😂
He so I have been going back and looking at to his story on a dad lvl bc as a dad I see tough and twisted love let me explain ….toji is an outcast in a big clan but he is the strongest disappointment of the clan that strives to get strong and like sakuna now with maki he knows that their existence is an anomaly and but with toji now as a dad to protect his son he did the impossible and that’s kill gojo or incapacity and with that his will for his son to be the head of the clan was in effect but we never got to see the reunion of toji bringing him to his clan as a leader of a clan by agreement shown in later chapters he was a target to be killed so a new head can be chosen and toji knew that was going to happen to a lil boy so he as his dad was going to be in the shadows guiding him to become a great leader and to change what the zenjin clan is that’s why megamis name is blessing and I feel he wanted to be next to his son this whole time but gojo came back and he wasn’t expecting him to come back as strong as he did be peep the fight he called out blue and seen him use red and already adjusted but that feeling was the. Feeling of lose he knew he had two options in the contract with zenjin gojo must be dead or knocked out for a period of time and he chose to spare him same as he spared geto and with that he never finished his job as toji zenji would have killed gojo with the heavenly spear to the head and not switched out with a knife if he didn’t make the mistake of sparing the one bound by fate as mentions with the 6 eyes and tengan but sparing geto was something he don’t want to handle because his over all goal was to knock out or badly injure them instead of killing them but by fate he was cursed for not finishing the job and now megami is a lost child with no dad and as he is dying he knows he son will be sold to the clan bc of the 10 mill but he knows his othe will of him being head leader and his growing up with him is not going to happen but gojo the new strongest as toji claimed the title for 10 mins now gojo is given the responsibility of megami and his life but gojo has the 6 eyes on awaken rn so Ik he knows tojis heart and will by reading his energy ….. but yea toji loved his son and wanted a better life for the clan and him but he took the easy way of knocking them out and sakuna now is not making that mistake as he did with gojo and geto or Kenny was handled for him and now it’s time to get to work
10:06 my boy was spittin
I have been enjoying content too much man keep going and making more banger videos!!!
I prefer the last words of Toji in the anime compared to the manga "thats great" which I believe from how he said it could be read as I'm glad just feels so much better since he never shows emotion only in his last moments seeing his kid.
Definitely do this style again 🔥
Just realized that Gojos and Tojis fight is supposed to be a representation of the fight between Wukong (the monkey king) and Buddha (Gojo). At the start of the fight Wukong thinks he wins but is actually fooled by Buddha and gets defeated with no problem. It’s like the fight between Gojo and Toji. Toji fights Gojo “wins” but when Gojo becomes reawakened Toji stood no chance and dies. Gojo even states one of Buddhas quotes.
Another banger, great work & perspective!
i love how tojis story and personality is the absolute best of the type of "think yourself and you get it" story.
It's like as if the Zenins hatred for Non curse users created a "cursed spirit" for them
‘The god of war reborn’, kinda fitting to suggest Toji and Maki are the Kratos’ of JJK
14:10 Another way of looking at it is that Toji saved Megumi because Jogo would've severely burned or even killed him if he was with that group.
10:05 impeccable editing.
Such delivery my man. Had me tearing up on this flight. Def subbing
Hey! This video is actually a masterpiece. Well made man! Please continue to make these story telling vids!
loved it, thank you for doing this
I understand now why people are actually toji fans
most people started liking toji cause he rocked gojo
Exactly, the fact that he killed a child for money has gone over their heads
@@tejiriamrasa3258why do only toji fans have to see people type this shit as if geto didnt kill humans of all ages and planned to murk innocent non-sorcerer folk from the planet earth but yeah sure toji is the *biggest* bad of the series and his fans cant like him cus he killed a fictional child
@@blebmp3533 when and where did I mention Geto? Have you ever seen me condone his actions? This comment section is about Toji so be quiet!
this video kept my attention pretty well with the storytelling style, great job and ive subbed :)
This video was insaaaaaaaane
Toji reminds me of Kariya Matou... Very different persons and different fate, but the backgrounds are similar and they made somewhat similar decisions in life
Brilliant video
I love it!!💜💜
I really respect you bro. your videos are very cool. you made me really see the nuance and the depth.
Bro my fav character he just a menace tryna survive and even during his death he didn't bitch or give it but embraced it like it was nothing.
So i dunno.
Damn that’s sad and great understandable story of toji and makes me even feel sorry and pity him
Bro like Gojo said , all he had to do was cut his head off.
In fairness to the Toji vs Gojo fight, Ion think Gojo was gonna let that first L slide in the first place so was there really anywhere he could run 😂
Eh he couldn't fight a person who did not want to fight.
not like gojo would actually be able to catch up and find toji if he escaped
Gojo didn’t know how to teleport yet and Toji could have had more flyheads and would have just bounced at full speed
Go to sleep early for work and get some proper rest?!
Nah

Dang, Toji's story is sad. Kinda get it, cool video. His story is heartbreaking in a way.
Toji is the child that was rejected by the village, and came back to burn it all down
This was REALLY GOOD!!! omg!!!
🐐🐐 amazing analysis, loved it
Dope. Great work.
Loving the use of nier soundtrack
5:30 I like how you pointed out that Toji represents Sun Wukong while Gojo represents the Buddha
How peak was toji zenin compared to toji fushigoro because if it was by little bit toji, it may have been an actual fight for awakening gojo . Which is scary.
Toji is so dope
I just watched this video on toji and i hope u more like this in the channel keep it up.😊
Thank you !

It's wild that the same people who empathize with Geto becoming a villain after watching a Toji murder a child are the same people who still like Toji and do everything they can to mentally make him a less evil person.
Amazing video and looking forward to more!
Id say the best, for me atleast , i watched few eps of jjk before but couldnt get into it, before i saw toji now i started watching again on ep 8 now
My belief of this battle is the supposedly cataclysmic struggle between these ideals. Alas it only appeared to be, Toji will live on, in Megumi, In the world itself. For this world turns for all of us. No matter the outcome, we will never truly die! May viscous benevolence free you from your chains. PEACE🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great story really well put
Loved it
Wow this was awesome!
I'm surprised that he didn't eliminate the Zenin clan
I think he would if they were to push him to like they did with Maki
@@1hundred1 i think so too but he didnt have anything to lose the zenins were able to take anything from him anymore there was *no point* in doing the killing
I don't think he forgot his son. I took it as him claiming ignorance to protect him
I think he did, because after he defeated Geto he said "oh yeah I named him Megumi" which means he remembered who is Megumi
Enjoyed it and subscribed
