American Lake - Desolation WIlderness 2019 Backpacking

Upper end of echo lake was BSA camp Harvey West. I camped with scouts and spent slot of time hiking and fishing in Desolation Valley. That was long ago. Before wilderness permits.thank you for sharing video of desolation valley.

Had to say, trees don't grow up from the bottom!! 😅 If that nail's at 8ft, it always was. Fences don't get lifted when tree trunks grow around/through them, right?

If I had done that to my back right at the beginning like you did I think I would not have gone. So good for you. Looks like you had a great trip. I was thinking of doing a day hike up there soon.

What time of the year did you go? I am hoping you could message me somehow, I am from Sacramento also and will be staying there over the Fourth of July weekend in a month and a half. Would really want to stay at that site location, but don’t see on the any maps the waterfall..help!
