Right now I'm thrilled with the results I've gotten from keto with intermittent fasting, both in regards to weight loss and survival from an extremely life threatening health emergency that occurred 6 months ago. Today, my neurologist reviewed my latest brain scan and said it looks perfect. No blood clots left at all. Of course, a couple of very good Neurosurgeons helped as well. I had a double (one one each side) subdural hematoma and a small stroke in early February. Two separate crainiotomy's drained the worst of them but now there are no remaining clots and I can resume my normal activities. I've been eating only one fairly large ketovore meal a day to promote autophagy. I go anywhere from 22 hours to 24 hours without eating most days and while not a long time, enough to get some benefit from self eating each day. There is still some threat from a stroke due to blood clots from my extremities but I think it's greatly reduced from autophagy. Had I not lost the weight and continued my new way of eating through recovery, I have no doubt that things wouldn't have gone as well.

I lean toward thinking that any diet that cuts out refined sugar, flour, and added oils (junk food in general) is going to result in weight loss and better health. The McDougal diet and Dr. Westman’s Keto diet both result in improved health over SAD, but, Dr. Westman’s diet is much easier to stick with.

I would like to know why my triglycerides have increased over my HDL with the worsening of my autoimmune condition (mixed connective tissue disease). My total cholesterol is 453. LDL is in the high 300s. I've lost 8 kilos since going on the keto / carnivore diet. I feel much better, but crazy cholesterol and inflammation is still high. I'm on homeopathic medicine now. Started a month now. There's been a reduction in the swelling in my hands and feet.

That is nothing. My LDL is 541. My HDL is the highest it has ever been at 87. My triglycerides were mildly high because of fasting time I believe. My HDL to Triglycerides ratio was a little high. I wanted the VLDL breakdown but they didn't do it. First time I had blood work in 18 years and am Carnivore.

I've been on keto for about 15months and lost about 50 pounds. I had a heart attack a few weeks ago and needed 2 stents. They're wanting me to take statins. At first I refused, but now I'm going to take them for a few weeks, then have a low dose.
This video helped me a lot. Thank you.

Dr. Westman mentioned regarding factor, Family History. It dawned on me when it comes to metabolic disease and arteriolosclerosis, should not the Family member's History and Diet go together to evaluate correctly? I know two brothers who have been eating different diets most of their lives. I sure one will have a different outcome than the other because of the diet difference. Another complicating factor that should help give the "History" more or less weight in an assessment.

Excellent video I noticed that some of the patients have negative impacts on their body I strongly it’s due to overcooking their veggies, I started taking the crispy almost Aldente approach when still some of the crudity is left and took my sweet time to chew and started the release of digestive enzymes in my mouth and never had the problem of being bloated and still today I have no issues and I no longer take any meds.

Is Dr. Brewer less important and that's why his name isn't capitalized? LOL As I understand it as long as your triglycerides to HDL ratio is low then your LDL is the large fluffy good type of LDL. I'm 77 and my triglycerides to HDL is 1.0 and my LDL was 177 at my last lipids test as I remember. However, I had a CAC score or 305 in January of 2023.
Anytime I've had a CIMT it has never been in hundredths of a ml.(Such as the ones from Lifeline Screening). How do I get one of these better tests. Evidently, I've just been getting an ultrasound and they are calling it CIMT. How is that even legal? Where can I get the more accurate CIMT here in NE Pennsylvania?

I was debating whether to get a Life Line Screening this year, because they give me grief about my high LDL, ignoring my great Triglyceride/HDL ratio, and telling me I’m pre diabetic when my BGL is not rock bottom after a 12 hour fast. So I will do it again, and take the data and run! 😂

Thank you for doing these videos. I just want to say that you need to have your thyroid checked by a doctor other than the doctor you have been going to or take your blood work to a different doctor. I had no thyroid hormone in my blood and my TSH was over 100. I tried keto and It made an egg size stone in my gallbladder. Even the surgeon said my doctor caused me to these issues. I also got Desmoid tumors and had to have major surgery. I have blood work going way off again. TSH is a 2 good but Blood sugar crazy even at 100 carbs a day. so i am going KETO again. I Have to take almost 60 units of insulin to get in a ok range.
