I have not been able to fish for the past year and have been off work the past 3 months due to a medical condition. Yesterday I finally watched the last of all 845 videos of yours. I would like to thank you for your integrity, knowledge and humor to get me through the last 13 months. I look forward to watching the next 845 videos. I will be here as long as you are.
I hope you’re able to get out there soon. Thankfully Greg posts his unsuccessful trips too so that I can relate to at least a few of his videos.
Get well brother
Crap man, I hope you’re able to fish soon. Get well soon. I don’t miss a GB episode either. He’s a solid dude and angler.
Keep hanging in there!! Greg's video's are good therapy for all of us. Get well soon, see you on the water!
Blessings brotha. Hope u get out there
Pretty cool you got the attention of B Lat!
Lunch break, morning coffee, evening cool down. Never a bad time to watch Greg Blanchard set a hook.
Gorgeous place with striper and trout. Downside is no phone service !
Taking the boat and my kids there this weekend! Great timing.
Good luck!
Coffee & GB in the morning is just what I needed!
✌️👍 Greg, you not beating the shoreline. Good work solder keep it up..👍✌️
I'm evolving😅
Another great video. Thanks! I got my PB Striper in my home lake the other day in my Kayak. What fun! Pulled me 300 yards! If you ever get to Virginia--I got 2 motorized kayaks!
Cool video Greg. Seemed like a "mental break" day, where you do something elective instead of responsible. Nice and relaxing. Thank you Sir,.
If this is a great little Reservoir I've been fishing it for over 25 years I actually met you out there a year or two back with my kids LOL thanks for the vids good luck on the AOL
Ty for video 😊
23:11
GB, I’ll always appreciate not only your capturing of the whole fishing process and adventure but also keeping your content clean. Thanks man. Not a whole lot like you.
I'm surprised you got on the water there. The cost is not anymore difficult to deal with. Good to see you did get some decent fish and a few of those would have made some awesome tacos.
Enjoyed the video and good to see the lake is lookin good too.
Best luck on the upcoming tournament. Berryessa that time of the year can deliver a blessing or a F-this place and garage sell everything.😂
I like that your videos are less than 30 mins now, catches the viewers eye 👁️. Great video like always 😊
I fish this lake weekly on my boat.
That is such a typical day out there.
Those fish move and move.
Great video Greg.
Fun to see you fishing where I go all the time.
Is this Dv?
@@fugisgonefishin If you know, you know.
That lake is so tough...I've had a lot of skunked days vs okay days.
Blanchard fix lets go!
Nice...another great video..probably need to visit that lake too for some striper...thanks Greg
Enjoyed your video today , I like that you make video's that do not involve tournaments a more relaxed outing on a beautiful day. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us given the state of the world right now it's nice to see something that can take one's mind off all it even if it is only for a short time.
Greg, next time you’re up there try left of the ramp. The Smallmouth will hit early/late topwater and flatworms during day. That gravel runs way off the point/ swim area. Tight lines 👍🏼
I sure enjoyed the video! I used to fish that place years ago. Hope to see you visit shadow cliffs in Pleasanton someday. Best of luck to you in the berryessa tournament!🤙
Neat seeing you using a spoon at 30+ feet. Berryessa is a great location to throw a spoon. The last time I did, I snagged some catfish and trout. Good luck to you on your tournament 😊
Nice relaxing day on the water ❤thanks Greg!
Good morning folks! The last past 3 weeks I catch a 8.33 with the cheater rig. Which I didn’t like much. And this past weekend i caught my new pb with a glide bait 9.07 #always-keep-grinding #keep-fishing. And always likening GB videos. 🐐
Greg you should come and fish in one of lake in fresno/Madera Millerton lake. This lake holds some monster striper if your lucky to catch it.
Another great video at a nice little lake. Sorry the fish didnt want to play much, but dont give up, there are some monsters there.
Really looking forward to watching your next tourney vidieo. You got this
Great video as always !!
As soon as you said "striper", all I could think of was "FISH TACOS"!!!!! Thanks for posting.
This helped confirmed my choice that the native slayer max is the way to go. 👍 I've been studying kayaks since June of this year and agree with ya Greg.
Great vid. Lots of pausing to look at your slayer layout. I clearly have some accessories to purchase. Practice starts shortly. Good luck Greg. Have thoroughly enjoyed your vids for years now. Best of it! Get that kicker! (NET!)
Greg, another great video bro! That Looked like a nice school of stripers. Hope your pre-fish went well, for that last tournament. We're pulling for you bro. Bring home that AOY. But whatever happens, you had a great, solid tournament season this year! 💯 🌊 🛶 🎣
Excited to see the turn out on TOC...goodluck greg!
Good one best of luck in the tournament ready to see that aoy trophy
Goodmorning everyone, cheers!
Cheers to you! Have a good Thursday
one technique i dont see in a lot of bass fisherman is deep water fishing sift throuh early you tube channel, the old fisherman,he is an expert deep bass fisherman, add another option toyour impressive skills
I’ve been chasing those striper for years at New Hogan Lake and now I’m definitely going to use what you are using.. My wife going to hate me for going again.. Thanks Greg!!! 😂 I used to rig up weight less fluke on a Donkey rig but now it doesn’t work unless I get lucky running into a boil..
Just had a trip out there on Saturday on the kayak. Only managed a single striper jigging a spoon. Marked a lot of fish and saw a few boils but it was tough getting them to commit.
Yeah I was really surprised that it wasn't like an ever my cast sorta deal with that spoon. They weren't impossible to catch but way harder than what I thought with that graphing lighting up like that
That’s how we fish for Stripers at Powell !
Got the Gyo sun hoodie yesterday and the fit and quality is great, thanks Greg!
I’ve been eyeing it, gonna have to pull trigger after my next yak and upgrades.
Awesome to hear Mike! I have some great people that help me create the merch so happy to hear things like this
I hope you did well!
Is Has been Years Since I Have Been To This Lake It Has Changed a lot
The one day I plan to go to berryessa to fish they have official practice 😞 I’ve only ever fished sonoma county lakes an had my eye on berryessa for awhile now
Meu sonho ter um pedal deste aí , pescaria top parabéns 👏👏 .
Fun vid thanks for sharing, Best of luck at Berryessa!
Hey man love the channel, can you make a video of some sort abut the native sidekick. How do you get on the water and off the water using it. I recently purchased it for my native kayak and it’s not the friendliest to operate especially getting off the water.
A few years ago, I had been looking for a general-purpose kayak to just get on the water with. As part of my research, I found the Crescent Light Tackle and after a talk with Dan from Headwaters. I decided to pull the trigger on that deal. Fast forward about 6 months later and I stumbled across your channel here Greg and it occurred to me that I never considered kayak fishing. Now I don't really regret getting the Crescent but let me tell you. When it comes to fishing. That boat is not the deal. Hindsight being 20/20 had I come across your channel sooner, I'm sure I'd be sporting a Titan myself right now.
Right on. The titan and slayer max kayaks are def made for the angler. The crescent would be cool on some real skinny water or a pond with a rod or two but that's about imo. Plus as fisherman I think we tend to bring way too much gear and the extra space is nice
@@GregBlanchardFishing Guilty as charged sir! My daily rotation consists of 8 casting rods and 2 spinning. I won't cover baits and gear in this forum haha. Four rods total seems to be the best the crescent can manage. Not to mention the lack of a pedal drive. Hook ups on anything over 3 pounds, usually means, I'm going for a ride.
good for Fish Tacos
The hatch on the slayer is so much nicer than the hatch on the titan.
Honestly my biggest turn off on the old Titans. The new Titan X hatch lid is beautiful though
@@eltonwadlow For real, even after putting car door weather stripping on it I still have issues with it
@@seancasey7672 geez, and I wasn’t even talking about functionality, just the aesthetics are horrible, at least in my opinion. My slayer max 12.5 hatch ever allows any water though
Love my Slayer max 10. Greg could you do a video on your all purpose setups? If I could only take two or three setups, which would you go with?
Slayer max 10 is a kayak I'll always have in the rotation! I think a 7'6" MH fast rod with a reel around 7:1 and say 15# fluoro line can cover SO many applications other than the really tiny bait and then the giant baits. Give me two of those setups and a spinning rod and I feel you could fish efficiently just about anywhere
Hello Greg, have you fished the last AOY tournament yet?? I just remembered from the Damian Thao Championship tournament in Tennessee. A tournament official informed him that he caught the same keeper on a different day using a different bait. Just hope you can do that when you fish the same area.
Wish you the best and peace to you.
Thanks
I don’t know what it is but I’ve been catching nothing but the same size bass you were catching a few a bit bigger but still small. You just know there has to be bigger fish there. I’m fishing at the mouth of a cove that has some pretty deep water at around 11 am the wind always ones up & pushes the shad into the cove I can see a bunch of fish jumping & feeding but it seems like they are all smaller ones I caught one that was smaller but fat & when I got him in shad were falling out of it’s mouth. Lots of bait all over but I just wonder where are the bigger fish.
Hey Greg, I have a question I've noticed about when you're fighting a fish by the kayak. I've noticed that when you're pulling a fish in one direction, and it changes direction it's going, you immediately move the rod in the complete opposite direction. Like at 16:40 when you lost that fish. Looks like you pulled the hook out of it's mouth doing it that way. Wouldn't the better option be to raise the rod straight up, then adjust direction from there? Only asking because I've noticed you do this before and generally curious as to why?
You're a way better fisherman than I, lol, and I always appreciate learning something from your videos, so not trying to critique your methods... just looking to maybe understand them more.
Love the breakdown of your Slayer Max 10, btw!
EDIT : I just realized today is day 1 of your Berryessa tournament. Good luck out there and can't wait to see the footage!
thanks for showing your boat i was given a "sign"boat its a 2018 titan 10.5 its completely stripped no seat no tracks the hatches have not been cut nor the drain plug its like a new boat a little bit weathered.the folks at native wouldnt help me with
registering the boat said it was suppose to be destroyed.i cant see destroying the boat though i got some help and got it registered im on a quest to find the parts i need propel drive rudder tracks hatch covers if you or your readers have any used parts they need to unload im interested.i used to fish that small lake do they still check you for mussels i heard many ppl have been turned away thats not the best drive to the lake up on mines just to get turned away.thanks for your videos greg.
What's that P-Line rod rack in the back behind you? I can't find that online but it looks awesome, especially with the line spools.
Greg you mentioned that you don’t normally bring the graph back on the smaller boat but you were planning on doing more looking today. How long until we see you with a livescope unit on the boat?
Oh man that's a great question. Probably not anytime soon tbh. I know it'll bite me eventually especially in a tournament scenario and there's potential that one day I'll need to get it to just be competitive in kayak tournaments but I'm pretty content with what I have and use now.
@@GregBlanchardFishing I’m with you on that. I prefer to fish a more traditional way, use my instincts and experience to find fish. Having a depth finder with a basic graph is all we need and more. As a follow up question, I know you have always run stern mounted motors with the pedal system. Any chance you would make a move to a bow mounted motor with spot lock? I’ve been thinking about doing both on a new Titan X. I use my kayak for bass fishing and for trolling for trout and Kokanee up here in Idaho so there are advantages to both setups for me.
Really surprises me that you haven't put a trolling motor with spot lock on the front if any of your kayaks yet
Finally added one to my kayak. What a game changer. I don’t know how I did it before.
DAM I was fishing this lake 2-3 times a week prior to your trip. Was wondering if i would run into you some day there.
Your experience was pretty spot on where the bites go down, that far mid lake section can be slim pickens, some time on that water can get you some crazy days. Seen double digit largies this time of year and early spawn..
FIRST TO THE KEY!!!!!
How do you pass inspection at that place. Feel like they will find any excuse to fail you
Nice walk through of the boat. What red/green lights do you use?
Thank you Greg. See you in the next one.
What’s that orange thing on the bottom of the Newport motor shaft? Bump guard? I have a NK180, just curious.
Third. Yeah buddy GB!
7 mins in. And I know this may upset some of your viewer base. But man, ya gotta keep some of the striped ones. good taco meat. (NET!) ;)
We need more boat tours, love to see your setup evolve over the years.
Will you be running the new TitanX?
It has definitely changed over the years lol. Yessir, hoping to get in the TitanX by the end of the year 🤞
honest question. off limits. Does that mean u cannot fish? but can go to the lake? or u have to fully stay away from the body of water for those off limits days?
Greg, have you tried San Pablo reservoir?
stripers>>>>
How long does your 24v 50 ah battery run your nk 180 full speed?
Thank your for the video! Greg this slayer max kayak a good starter kayak that you would recommend? Thanks on any feed back would be appreciated. Keep up the great work!
I would say it's one of the best starter fishing kayaks you could get in that it can really be fished in just about any type of water (talking about the max 10). You find yourself really enjoying it and wanting more room and a bigger motor or more electronics is when you can make a jump to a bigger kayak in the 11-12' range. Obviously my preference is to have both lol
Thank you for the response. Yes I been wanting a pedal drive kayak. I have a regular Lifetime one but I have to paddle around. So my distance is limited if you know what I mean. Thanks again Greg and good luck in the Berryessa tournament!
Where did you fish ??? Lol can't wait for the next one
Looks just like Del Valle in Livermore. The stripers are going off there.
Do you know when was the strippers introduced to that lake? I fished their in the mid-eighties and I don't think there was strippers at the time.
Early 90’s…..they will chase Choppo’s and Vixen topwaters this time of year in the evening. Spoons by day.
What lake is he on?
Does GB not use livescope cuz he’s sponsored by RayMarine?
“That’s what I was hoping for, to whack on some of these dudes”. What a way to start the day.
Good morning Greg great video. I was wondering since you are good friends with the wizard and you are rocking a NK180 on this kayak if he is willing to come up with a rock guard for it. I have an NK180 on my kayak as well and I would like to protect my investment. Please let me know. Thanks and have a good one.
Watch as this will be the one anomaly to the situation BUT I will tell you that I don't think you need one. I've dropped mine from the truck a handful of times. Banged it into rocks, hit submerged pipes/wood, you name it and it is scratched up but that's it. That little motor is super robust and I think you'd be fine without any additional guard on it to more ao maintain optimal speed and cut through grass efficiently too
@@GregBlanchardFishing Thank you so much for that info. Keep those videos coming.
Why do you mess with the drag so much while fighting a fish?
Maybe I am stupid, but did he say what lake he was on? It would be really nice to know.
Is this full time for you now Greg or are you still doing physical therapy? Sorry if you talked about it before and I missed it
What lake is it?
What lake is this?
The fishing ain’t gettin any better for the next 5 months.
🎉
Been there a handful of times, always is a difficult puzzle! Catching smallies there is fun though!
Any plans to switch to garmin and go livescope? Ive heard you mention it before. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your video's! With busy lives, we get to at least watch you slay them when we cant! Much love from Minneapolis! Thanks again!
Eyo, catch the big one greg!
Good luck at Berryessa! In the 80s and 90s I fished todays lake and others (Uvas was surprisingly good) from one of those plastic pontoon boats. About the most fun you can have. Still, I have to laugh at your Bay-Area-Isms: "I only had a couple hours to fish before I had to beat the traffic...."
Some beautiful views on that lake, looking forward to the next video as always. 🤙
Berryessa can be stingy, and then very generous at the same time! Keep on casting my friend! You'll get on em. Tight lines
Good morning everyone
What’s the your raymarine model?
Great video! Enjoying my morning coffee
awesome
Have they ever raised the limit of stripers in Del Valle? They've been in there for almost 50 years and some need to be removed
Always interesting to see what some consider light weight. I guess it all depends on what you're used to using.
🎣🎣🎣🎣
Go get’em, Greg!
What lake is that greg
What lake??
