I rarely watch a video this early. But I'm sick as a dog and have been up and down all nigjt. This is a nice bit of solice while I fight through whatever bug I have. Thanks Greg.
Always enjoy a Monday morning GB video. I really appreciate how you take care with all the fish you catch. Thank You. I will see you on the water one day.
I understand your pain! There have been days where I changed baits and colors while tearing my hair out, yet no keeper fish! However, I wish you the best of luck! As much as fingerlings make me sad, it's a good sign that they'll eventually grow up to be toads. 😊 Still entertaining to drink coffee to and scream at the TV 😂 🤗🎣🤗
Hey Greg, I knew one day I would run into you. It was nice to finally have quick chat with you in person (2 guys in Ranger @Pleasure Cove)... good luck in your upcoming tournament... JZ
You're going to give us a nail biter Greg! 😂 That lake is over 20 miles long, and over 2 miles wide. And you usually figure something out. Still not using live scope, and you always, put the important recon in. Routing for you Greg! 🌊 🎣 🛶
I was seeing the same shad bait balls & used just a plain spinner to pick off a few all of them small but I was using all the fancy stuff so I was like ok let me just go back to basics with spinners & Roostertails & when I did catch them they were spitting up Shad so I think they look at out bait like ya right. 😂 But it’s there instinct to chase & bite so eventually you pick off a few. Just went Sunday to the same spot & its like the switch was turned off no shad & not one bite. That’s fishing 🤙
That was a tough day bro ,seems to me it's probably gonna be a good Jig Bite in the tournament. That lake gets a lot of pressure. It's good there's no fishing for 2 weeks. Coffee is good this morning. Can't wait for next video
Oh yeah Berry is rough! Our tournament 2 weeks ago was won with 12lbs then dropped off to 8 ams less I had one Fish. Winner said 4in Robow let it soak he got all his fish in a 100 yard area. Hopefully that helps.
It might not be popular with the vocal online crowd, but it’s time for livescope Greg. In an offshore tournament it’s a huge advantage for your competitors.
Mr. Greg . . . I'm tempted to search how you and your crew did but will refrain from doing so 🥵and anxiously await your video(s) recapping the offical practices and two days of TOC fishing . . . hoping you were able to have good enough days to secure the AOY 🤞. The weather looked great this day of a 1,000 fish and hoped you were able to find something out . . . whether it was a method / technique you wanted to continue or elimnate some methods / techniques; a lot could have changed in the couple of weeks since this day of 1,000 fish. "Thanks" for bringing us along and will be looking out for the offical practice and TOC video(s).
thank you sir! Working on the TOC videos now and it's definitely filled with some "drama". Prob stay away from the comments section in my videos prior to the TOC as sometimes ppl spill the beans
I was there the week after you and found the same conditions. Killed the dinks on a small tail spin and jerk bait. Super fun but except one decent small mouth there was nothing bigger than 9 inches. Good luck in the AOY!!
I hate to say it, but you're right, ffs would be the perfect tool in that situation. You'll see right away if there are bigger fish mixed in with the dinks. It'll be a huge time saver. But I gotta hand it to you... to have the success you had this year against guys who most likely use ffs, that's helluva an accomplishment. Looking forward to the toc vid.
I fished berryessa last Friday morning before the tournament. Man I’ve never seen bait balls that big! I couldn’t get ANYTHING to bite EVERYTHING I threw at them. Then I slipped at the ramp and broke my damn ribs! Put me the hell out for a few weeks now
@@GregBlanchardFishing I’m trying man, thanks! you killed it this year man! Can’t wait to watch the AOY race next year! Hopefully I’ll be able to get in on them TourneyX tournaments!
I see you put on a small Rapala that is light my question is how do you use a bait caster with light tackle. Because I get some serious birds nest whenever I try & use small lures.
Greg What is the most miles you have covered with your current setup? Have you ever attempted to drain the battery before? Cool Video covering ground on Lake Beryyessa.
Ah, great question. I've just about drained both 24ah 50v batteries I have running in the yak on a couple occasions but I'd say I've done over 15 miles a handful of times easily. Never drained the battery but I have def come close
I truly think to target those shallow fish, you gotta go back at it with a slow subtle top water popper, or a really slow wacky rig.. the way they move after you go over them, not reacting to any thing really moving that much.. finesse gotta be the only way.
haha that's perfect. Yeah, that lake is pretty tough overall now to fish. I'm hoping in the next couple years there's a big turnaround and it gets back to how it used to be.
Probably not doing it for next season. Nothing against it but I'm a creature of habit and just like what I currently have though I might go to a more advanced side scanning system
Ah good question. Don't think I will in the next year or so. I'm such a creature of habit and I feel like i know my current graph pretty well at this point though I might upgrade to something with more side scan ability. Idk, it's tough for me too just because I like catching fish up shallow and in an unpredictable way for the most part
Not trying to open a can of worms...do have a philosophical reason for not having forward facing sonar or just haven't gotten one yet? Again, I'm not starting a debate just curious of your thoughts.
fair question for sure. No not at all. I'm just a creature of habit and like what I have with my raymarine which I have no affiliation with at all. I've fished well with it at this point and I feel like I know how to use it pretty well so its probably just a comfort thing. That said, I won't rule out something more advanced in the future. I think for me it just comes down to enjoying what I'm doing and catching fish how I like to.
Man, I hope things really pick up for you during the tournament. And several tournaments back during the warmer weather you guys were drinking a beer I’m trying to find everywhere here in Illinois, I can find the sierra, Nevada pale ale, but I cannot find the sierra Nevada otra vez so much. Do you have any tips? Again, best of luck during the tournament.
Greg I’m not sure if you respond or not but I’m really hoping you can give me a tip. I’m headed up to northern cal this weekend for my first fishing trip ever I have 3 days to fish anywhere I want in nor cal where would you suggest?
Hey Kolby. Ah, great question and I'm assuming you have a boat or a kayak to explore. I would bet Delta anywhere around stockton/lodi should be good for numbers right now. Motherlode lakes like Melones or Don Pedro I bet would be the same but these are all speculations. I don't really get info or knowledge on where it's popping off around here and just base where I fish from my personal history and what I know. It might be worth the while to get a guide one day and then go from there.
@@GregBlanchardFishing man I appreciate you respond so so much Greg I have been pumped up for months getting to go fish the bodies of water you do lots of respect brotha and much love for all the tips tricks and work you do for guys like me. Thanks again Greg

You need a bfs setup and throw some tiny cranks and chatterbaits might work. Maybe even tiny swim bait like 2 in.

Good morning, coffee drinkers! ☕️ Greg, I wish I could find 1000s of fish, lol. NY is getting cold and tough!

I appreciate the beauty of that water and lake! Awesome.
Looked like u did pretty good considering! Thxs for taking us!
Oct 17 at Berryessa, 100 yds from Markley Cove first fish was a 2.5 Small Mouth, then a lot of dinks . Off the water at 1:30
I understand your pain! There have been days where I changed baits and colors while tearing my hair out, yet no keeper fish! However, I wish you the best of luck! As much as fingerlings make me sad, it's a good sign that they'll eventually grow up to be toads. 😊

Good to see you on the tube again Greg. Dont let those standings change. All your followers are happy the way it is. Good luck brother.

Good morning folks. You already know when you week is starting damn good. #keepfishing #grinding 🎣
gosh oh mighty, you need to invest in a 12 ga and your hands at a cast and blast. i was hollering take em when those Canada's were cupped up lol
You've been my fav kayak fisherman to watch 💯
Oh man got to find the right ones you got this and stay focused brotha.
I was there the week after you and found the same conditions. Killed the dinks on a small tail spin and jerk bait. Super fun but except one decent small mouth there was nothing bigger than 9 inches. Good luck in the AOY!!
Would you make a video of your Newport, battery, and transducer setup? On the Slayer. Tight lines, keep the videos rolling.
Looks like wherever you’re fishing had a good spawn last year. That class of fish will be fun in a season or 2
agreed! a lot of the fisheries around norcal are the same with those size fish and PLENTY of forage to munch on.
I hate to say it, but you're right, ffs would be the perfect tool in that situation. You'll see right away if there are bigger fish mixed in with the dinks. It'll be a huge time saver. thank you sir! yep, gotta finish this season with essentially the same setup as i started with
Good morning Greg another great video to watch this morning thank you
No shortage of food for them definitely makes an artificial bite that much harder! That giant bait ball you pointed out on the graph is nuts.
Hey GB! Always a good time when you upload.

all about the reel. Some of my higher end reels do great with smaller baits such as the Zenon. Light line and a Medium or Med light rod help too

Second to the key!!! In slippin!
Even though there on bait I still catch em good on a wacky and Neko rig this time of year
Greg why dont you use a bow motor on your titan?
I truly think to target those shallow fish, you gotta go back at it with a slow subtle top water popper, or a really slow wacky rig.. the way they move after you go over them, not reacting to any thing really moving that much.. finesse gotta be the only way.
This was very similar to my experience. We started to call it berrynosa. Would love to see it when it's on one of its rumored hot days
haha that's perfect. Yeah, that lake is pretty tough overall now to fish. I'm hoping in the next couple years there's a big turnaround and it gets back to how it used to be.
Gotta get you a bfs setup for those tiny guys.. makes it soo much more fun
Do you think the fire a couple years back messed up the bite? It seems like it hasn't really been the same since then.
Mmm hard to say, I think the dropping water level played more of a part
At 6:24 you can see a good size fish off the front of his kayak
Hey Greg, what’s the latest with potentially going to livescope?
Probably not doing it for next season. Nothing against it but I'm a creature of habit and just like what I currently have though I might go to a more advanced side scanning system
Ah good question. Don't think I will in the next year or so. Anyone else notice the huge pale fish at 6:25?
Not trying to open a can of worms...do have a philosophical reason for not having forward facing sonar or just haven't gotten one yet? Again, I'm not starting a debate just curious of your thoughts.

How’s it going everyone, Great videos GB
Awesome
Curious is your kayak cart thing custom made? Everytime I see it I want one lol. My kayak cart blows 😂
Haha yep its custom. Had the wizard make it
What is the lure at the 5:24 mark?
Congrats on winning AOY!!! Your 3rd place finish sealed the deal. Well deserved, sir, well deserved.
Wtf? Spoiler dude...
The million dollar question “why don’t you eat the bait?” 😂😂
Great video. New subscriber. Love your content
They be finicky and down deep eh
Try a hair jig 1/8oz it catches em on Shasta
I'd say good luck with the TOC, but a few minutes on the Internet tells me it isn't necessary. Congrats!
