Also, to clarify to those wondering why Slavic Nik is in my "How To Make Amazing _______" videos, it's for a few reasons. The first being that it actually makes the video memorable. It surprisingly will make all this somewhat important information stick because you'll have something unique to connect it to, which is the accent. More importantly, these are essentially 10 minute tutorial style videos that honestly... would be kinda boring if it was just me talking normally. It might look more professional in that style but these videos are meant to be fun and have terrible jokes in them in order to keep it from feeling like any other "how to" video.
Nik Nocturnal, how about months turn to metal.
This right here is how you make hobby videos entertaining and memorable. Thanks for the detailed approach you have here mate.
Btw, i am a drummer, and the more i watch your videos, i can feel that i have more strength-of-opinion towards the guitarists i work with in the metal genre.
I am Polish so this accent feels like home.
Well I'm loving it, so keep going you beautiful slavvvvv
“Old school metal bands like Killswitch Engage”. I feel old now.
He said old school melodic metalcore lol
We have to embrace it now :(
They're going on 20 years this year.
Now I feel old too.... 😂 🤘😎🤘
metalcore wouldnt necessarily say its old school per se but there is old school KSE. Haha, metal is confusering.
He indeed said old school melodic metalcore, and yeah Killswitch is 20 years old now....were you calling Exodus “old school thrash metal” in 2000? I think most people were lol
Ah, 8-5-0-3... The 0-3-5 of metalcore
Edit: Ah octave chords. The other 0-3-5 of metalcore
Don't forget 0-8-7!
^^
Was writing a song today and I almost fell into that trap without thinking about it...it’s such an easy filler riff lol
I'd think it would be 5-7-8 on the A (G) string with 0-s in between on the E (C) string
Ah yes 8-5-0-3. Makes me sleepwalk...
I like how you switch between heavy accent and almost none at all constantly lol.
I've been working on my english
That's a joke stolen from my best friend Denis actually. It's not his original humor at all. I also took this kid to his first show at the devil wears prada. But he forgets his bandmates, his friends who showed him EVERY BAND he now likes, and all else in the name of "fame". Way to rep Etobicoke and who got you here in the first place Nik Pop.
@@GRAG3R You sound jealous as fuck. Do you expect a personal shout out every video because you showed him some bands? Also, your friend Denis wasn't the first person to put on a fake accent. You seriously need to grow up. Seems pretty obvious why Nik left your sad ass behind.
@@GRAG3R Would have dropped you too my dude
G RAG3R shit with that attitude I’d leave you behind too
Slavik accent mode: ON ☑️
I love your videos, keep em up!
Nic stands for Nicolai
I think it's funny, but this time the video was actually pretty informative and it distracted me a little tbh.
Seriously dude until i started watching more of this guys videos i just thought he naturally had that accent.... i remember watching one one day and he was talking without it and i genuinely thought i was going insane...i actually had to go back and find one with the accent to confirm that i didn't just lose my shit hahaha
Thank you!
Max Epta Nikita akchually
0:08 is the face of a man who knows he has mastered both memes and metal.
NightwingX012 he is a disciple of Rudy Ayoub now😂
;)
If he was from Oklahoma, we'd say ye has mastered meth.
The Return of Nik Blyaturnal
I think it's his actual accent.
Watched the video without sound just to check for 8-5-0-3
I watched it without turning on my phone get on my level!
8-5-0-3 is ADTR in a nutshell
just 8-5-0 and you're golden
Lmao ofc!
I know you'll wanna slap me for saying this, but I still wanna see a shred war between you and your Slovakian alter ego. This was another amazing video man
Militant Me this would be an awesome video
Maybe one day, if Yury is up for the challenge
same
Nik Nocturnal who’s yury?
Nm I know what’s going to happen
4:15 - 4:29
*Time stood still The way it did before It's like I'm sleepwalking*
5:58. *while she sleeps wants to know your location*
^^^
Sounded more like a wage war lead to me
(Khabib voice) SEND ME LOCATION
I head a music expert once say “making music is like throwing shit at a wall to see what sticks. I just know what sticks better over the years” which means music theory isn’t necessary but definitely helpful and it’s the years of practice that pay off
10:43 Bring Me The Nocturnal
Sounds like sleepwalking
yup
3:07 I thought you where about to sing vocals with your octave chord playing...I was indeed let down.
13 years of learning to play guitar by myself and expand my capabilities, all wrapped up in a 13 minute beginner's tutorial...I'm done.
Lol same
Got so distracted watching this I just stuck my hand in my drink thinking it was food
Xyton_Ghoul that’s hilarious
Now your talking
Alternate title: Russian man teaches manliest music theory lesson ever
I think that would go to andriy valenskyo. (Or however you spell it idk)
@@Top10Dylan Andriy is Ukrainian
Dahh
@@Top10Dylan Andrey Vasilenko
I thought Nik was Serbian. Wotever, Slav is Slav
This is my favorite series of yours. Could you do more episodes for each part of a song. Like metal verses, bridges, etc? Even ones for subsequent subgenres like progressive metal, metalcore or nu-metal would be really cool as well!
There's a great UA-cam channel called ShadyCicada where he does fun "tutorials" on how to write songs from different genres, then plays a short song with those riffs and leads and stuff at the end. While he says it's a bit of fun and not to take it too seriously, it's helped a lot with my own writing.
@@kungfuman82 Seconded! Love that channel!
He already made some
you might check out Mike Shinodas Streams if ur into Nu-metal song writing
Whenever I show anyone anything I say "I show you in context."
Please do
So this videos is about how to play sleep walking by bmth in different ways ???
pretty much. thought about it myself haha
6:52 sounds like Mark Holcomb from Periphery! Love your work Nik!!
Jonathan Lesher yeah mark has a video on youtube where he talkes about the exact same think
@@AlexKerski Link? I love Mark's riffs, I recently installed his Alpha & Omega Seymore Duncan pickups in my own axe, it shredz!

After watching this video 3 weeks ago I've been incorporating these techniques into my playing and song creation. It has totally changed my playing. I can't thank you enough Nik.
You don't have any idea of how much these videos are helping my songwriting ! The 2 about the minor scale were game changers for me. Also, I didn't really understand what are the things we have access with the first level of your patreon ? Keep up with your amazing vids & songs man !
Nik I've ben watching your videos for a while now and I already knew how talented you were with your guitar playing, but I think this video really showcases your musicianship. Seriously keep putting out the great content.
Love when Slavic Nik mode is on ! You're right it makes the tuto different !!! Thank you, keep amazing 😂 🤘
Lol damn man! The stuff you come up with is so strong and suggestive I can practically hear the vocals. I'm not a singer but if I was I would know exactly how to sing to it! Not just this but most of the vids like this that you do! Super inspirational! Thnx for the tutorial!
You’re killer dude and such an inspiration, keep it up man 🤘
Please please please make this into a full song!
thanks for all the tips, m8! Keep it up with the videos. I have been able to spice my chorus up quite a lot with this
So glad your channel blew up. I remember watching you when you had like 35k subs, now look at ya, 135k subs...but definitely earned it bro. You’re a bad ass player and I like the content.
Awesome video Nik. Thanks for your help and inspiration. This should help spice up my songs and make them much more interesting.
You are seriously the most inspiring UA-cam musician I've seen.
This is so useful! Thanks a lot, Nick, you're amazing.
Proud to say that Termina is in my Spotify playlist. Keep it up!
Thank you! :)
Wow! Your presentation is not only fun - easy to understand - but brilliant! Truly you are the Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov of METAL MUSIC. Very few people have such a strong and clear grasp of anything where science and art have a matrimonial relationship - but your approach would impress Albert Einstein. Thank you for doing such a great job sharing your superior gifting with the world. I am certain your influence will change the course of musical history in many ways that will inspire many who would otherwise be bound in a prison of mediocrity. Thanks again!
This is actually very helpful, thank you nik
Awesome stuff, Nik!
These videos are so very helpful. Thank you!
Mannn this is soooo good, This has helped me a lot! This made my chorus mor awsome!
Amazing video Nik, I've learnt a bunch of new tricks 🔥
dude this was so helpful, especially as I am a pop punk musician trying to add more depth into playing and recording
Beautiful guitar man! I love it!
I loved this, and it's some major insight. Thank you.
thanks Nik, very helpful tips!!
Nice dude!
Can you please teach Fluff some music theory so we don't have to listen to his generic daddy riffs?
Shots fired!😮
UrbanGeeks who’s that ?
I get that when it comes to his RR stuff but the DU album was pretty good
You’re actually the Djent Djesus Nik!
Really cool and helpful 🤙🏻 don’t stop man!
Amazing video as always
What a great instructional video! A lot of great tools for a guitar player to use. Inspires me to go play some new riffs.
Hi Nick! Thanks for the video man, really useful. You are awesome!
Awesome video as always nik, I'll be incorporating these in my music 🎶😊🎶
great video man!!!congrats!!
Awesome video. As a beginner guitarist who struggles to write anything decent this is super helpful. Thank you!!
Jesus.. learnt so much because of this video. Keep it up bro
Nik These are dank tips but an even more exciting thing to do is to start simple and each chorus add something new for that progressive emotional experience!
I love your stuff really helping my song writing!! Fantastic! I would love some tips on pre chorus or bridges of what you would do?
I'm not the biggest metalcore fan, but I love how unique it is compared to the other subgenres. They add technicality while still being passionate about the music. They sound great. Their sound is unique compared to the others. Etc.
Thank you for your videos, comrade !
Sick video man!
The commitment to the accent for the whole video was great but also this breakdown is incredibly helpful
Bro this tutorial is amazing thank you so much! I just subbed to your channel!
you are the man! keep it up slavic tiger!
Just in time, I've literally just been struggling with this. Trying to play something more interesting than straight 8th note power chords for a chorus.
Good stuff my dude, keep it up.
Thank you!
@@NikNocturnal It would be pretty cool if you could do this with verses too if you're gonna continue the series.
Great tips !
I love these "I show you in context" videos I know they are old but these have helped me expand my mind so much
Thanks for these you shared Sir Nik. Greetings from Philippines
Thank YOU for watching!
Your stuff is amazing, cheers from Germany
ahh yess finally...the content i've been waiting for
That’s exactly why I subscribed! Thanks!
Also, you might already have answered this question but do you sometimes use what you created in your “10 types” vids or this sort of tutorial in your original songs then?
That chorus hits my soul Holy hecc
Really inspiring man, keep the good work up!
Thank you! :)
Amazing vid Nik!!!! Can you give an example for choruses like that?
4:07 That little melody sounded amazing
One of the best guitar-videos on youtube, thanks for this mister

Thank you Nik 🙏
Me and my mate (Lead 🎸) we've learned so much from you!
Love from East Timor 🤘🐊🇹🇱❤
Glad it helped!
You made an amazing chorus from a simple chord progression. So rad😉👍
Thanks Paul!
You inspire me sooooo much!
Thanks, glad I could inspire!
@@NikNocturnal Wow u actually replied. I cant wait till I show this to my mom.
@@NikNocturnal Almost every time after watching one of these videos I end up writing something.
Dude makes this shit so easy to understand.
Thank you for the tip!
VERY NICE:) Subscribed!
I love those videos. Simple, straight forward, easy to understand. A Slav hat and a bottle of vodka instead of water would spice up the slavic Nik Tutorials.
Awesome video as always ! Can you make verse, pre chorus, bridge parts of this format.
Man, it's really really useful... thanks...
Hey Nik! It would be really cool if you made a video about how you generally mix guitars. Panning/amout of guitars/Plugins etc. I think you have alot of DAW-users amongst your subscribers,
Cheers ;)
Just added this to my latest song... holy shit thank you man ❤️
That was really helpful
very helpful thank you
